Captain Ernest made sure we were taken care of before the trip, throughout the trip and well after. He is good company and taught us the ropes leading us to catch plenty of Sheepshead. The trip was beautiful, watching the sunrise as we made our way out to fish. Dolphins kept hanging around the boat which was awesome. Afterwards Ernest gave us a restaurant recommendation to take some of our filets to and have them cook our catch. Absolutely awesome experience. Great memory to create with my dad!

From booking the trip, to talking to the office, to fishing with Captain Ernest - our trip was MORE than what we could ve wanted. We caught 2 huge reds, and plenty of both sashimi and cook fish. The icing on the cake was Captain Ernest s bedside manner and how client focused he was. I could have stayed on that boat for days. ~ the Satterfields, Dallas.

The captains at this company are excellent. They walked us through our options for a February trip (we were in town for business travel). We planned for night gigging and a day trip. Unfortunately the weather the week we were in town was not great (were told its the coldest Texas has been for quite some time). Greg Jr. did bring us out still to try for night gigging. While the water was not ideal, he brought us to a number of different spots to try and find better conditions. We werent able to find better waters but he communicated well with us and let us know that we wouldnt be charged for the trip. The next time were in town, were going to be calling these captains!

Super knowledgeable and professional about both in shore and off shore fishing! Had a blast and highly recommend fishing with Captain Greg and his team!. I have had 2 great trips with Captain Greg and suggested them to my best buddy who also recently went and caught a ton of fish. On top off all the fun I also always learn something new about fishing.

I paid the deposit for a deep sea trip for my sons 21st birthday May 25th. I decided to postpone due to weather. My mistake. When I called back to reschedule after a month of no contactSorry man Im all booked up next week was the last response. I asked for a schedule/calendar to pick a date......nothing for 2 months now. Covid didnt break the phones. Serious lack of communication with this company. Think twice.

I booked a trip for my husband and 4 other family members for Father s Day while we were vacationing at the beach. They had the BEST time! I think they were with captain Johnny. The did a morning trip and came back with a bunch of fish to eat and a huge smile on their face. They all said it was an absolute blast and last year I booked with a different company that wasn t near as good. We will be coming back next year for sure!

Cap. Greg Jr. Was great, he did a real good job of getting the young boys on the fish. For 2 young boys who had never been on or seen the ocean before, Greg gave them an experience of a life time. And the smiles on there face every catch they landed. I go out every year, and must say this trip I will never forget. Thank you Greg

Had a great time with Captain Cole on a very foggy day! He and Jonah were friendly with our two boys and kept them engaged and having fun. He was easy going and a good coach. The boys, mom and I had a blast. A non-intimidating fun time for novice ocean fisherman.

We enjoyed another great trip with Captain Greg this week. One of the reasons with enjoy fishing with both Captain Greg and his son Gregory is that they are both really good with my two sons. This trip Captain Greg proved he can handle the other end of the spectrum too. My father is in his 70 s and didn t think he could handle a fishing trip any longer because of his balance issues and difficulty walking. Greg assured me that he would make sure my father was comfortable and had a great experience. Greg positioned the boat at the dock just right to facilitate safe passage for my father getting on and off the boat. He even helped lift my father, who has problems lifting his own legs very far, to help him get off of the boat. As a result of this extra effort, we enjoyed a great day of fishing with three generations and made plenty of great memories. We appreciate Captain Greg going above and beyond. We look forward to our next trip!

I have only fished and hunted with Captain Greg for a couple of years. I can only speak from my experience. He is one of the most knowledgeable and prepared fishing guides I have ever met. To explain, I grew up in south Louisiana and have lived all over. I would put Greg Verm at the top of my list, with Jody Riviere, who now spends all of his time working with Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries. These 2 men have taught me more about fishing than anyone I ve ever known. Highlight, MORE. They don t have to care about teaching, but they do. They live their craft. On one occasion, I had to cancel with Captain Greg. He had a little time to rebook the days. So, he told me if he could replace me, he d refund my deposit. Guess what, the man is honest, too. He replaced 2 of the 3 days and my money was sent immediately. Today, I am proud to call Greg and Jody two of my most trustworthy friends in the world. They didn t get that consideration because they helped me put food in my freezer. They earned it by caring more about helping me have good experiences than putting money in their pocket.

We had a good trip and caught some fish. The boat looked kinda worn out and wasnt the prettiest thing in the water, but it got the job done. I wouldnt say this was my favorite trip Ive ever taken, but we caught some fish and thats all we could ask for. We ended up on the jetty and the guide knew how to catch em. I can also say that he worked hard to keep the line baited for my dad who doesnt get around well, especially in rough water.

First off we booked a fishing/gigging combo and paid the deposit a couple months in advance. My son seen this and was very excited about the gigging. It was one of the main reasons we decided to drive almost 10 hous to vacation here. Never got an email verifying the trip or telling us what time or where to meet. A couple days before the trip was supposed to take place I emailed captain Greg about where to meet and what time. The night before the trip was supposed to take place I get a voicemail that the boat broke down and there was no way to reschedule while we was there. Maybe Im overthinking things but I think he didnt put the trip in his schedule and made an excuse for us not being able to go but who knows. Maybe it really did break. However they did offer to take us fishing that day for a 5 hour jetty fishing trip. Full price of course. The only reason they get any stars is because of the guide that took us out. Even though he had only been guide for about a year and couldnt really put us on the fish. (We did catch a few fish but only 3 that were keepers) he was very nice and was an excellent navigator when it came to slowing down over the wakes of other boats and stuff. I guess Im giving the business zero stars and captain Bo two stars. Im sure with some experience he will be an excellent guide someday soon. Personally I will never book with this company again. Captain Greg doesnt seem that organized and has a lack of communication with clients. If you want a great fishing trip you need to call Get Hooked Charters. The awesome feller that took us flounder gigging on short notice was Captian Rick Karpiuk with Fishtex guide services. Both those experiences were a hundred times better than these clowns. Captian Rick and Captain Zach actually wanted you to catch fish and done everything they could to make it a wonderful experience

Overall a good experience. We caught fish and had a good trip. Capt Gregg was kind of the letdown. When we started fishing he didn t let you drop you own hook into the water and wanted to reel up the fish for you. He kept saying he didn t want to lose the fish but that s the whole point of fishing it s hit or miss. He didn t let you fish comfortably. Took the whole experience away. We wherent professional fisherman but he should have let us have our fun. Also pretty rude guy seemed like he wasn t in the mood. Kept telling us to get out his way when fishing where on the hook and that if you where not reeling in fish you needed to get out his way. His deckhand was a young dumbass Tarzan looking dude who was just like Gregg. I wouldn t recommend him if you re trying to have a good/relaxed time. Also his prices went up by the end of trip, he didn t keep his work on pricing.

I am giving 2 stars because the excellent experience captain Davidson (I think it was Davidson) provided. I was under the impression we would be meeting at a location 20 min from our VRBO rental. The night before the trip we were informed we would be driving to a location that was over an hour from our rental in Jamaica Beach Galveston. This was partly my fault for not further investigating the different sites on the contact us page of captain Gregs website. However I believe once you pay your deposit an email with instructions and a site map would be a much better way to communicate the details of the trip. I then realized we would only be able to fish for about 2.5 hours since we had to be back by 12:00 to meet family so I opted for them to keep my deposit and cancel the trip. I then got a phone call from a very rude sounding Captain Greg who sounded like he wanted to fight me for canceling. I was trying to be civil and he was for most of the call but there were a few things he said Im gonna charge you for the full trip cause you are costing me money then after I warned him of legal action he said he couldnt charge me for the full trip even if he wanted to. I felt Guilty and really wanted to do the trip so I agreed to do it even though we would only get 2.5 hours fishing time in. After going out there and spending $500 with 4 of us. One kid caught 2 baby reds too small to keep, the other caught a stingray, and neither adult caught a single fish. I know many other tours that will offer you a discounted trip back if you dont catch a single keepable fish, but we never got any offers. Overall I really wish we would have saved our $500 and opted to just go to a fishing port where we may have had better luck. Captain Gregs side captain (Davidson) I believe was a real hoot. He had us cracking up the whole trip and showed empathy when we didnt catch anything, so this would be 0 stars if it wasnt for him.

Ive never been much of a fisherman, but these guys made me look good! We recently did our first gigging trip, and we had the absolute best time......my boys have talked n talked n talked about it, and we are ready for the next adventure!! Thanks Greg and Clint for always showing us a good time on the water!!

I browsed through endless listings for Fishing charters in Galveston, but I only decided on one after I called up Captain Greg here. Greg is a great guy that cares about giving you a good time, while also protecting the environment from which he makes a living. Greg, and his deckhand Kyle, gave my friend and I an experience we wont soon forget - the sail out to our spot alone, as the sun was rising, was worth the trip. On top of that, we hooked more than 20 fish between the two of us in just 4 hours - due, no doubt, to a combination of Gregs knowledge of the area, and some good old luck. We bagged a few - some of which made for great fish tacos on the grill that night. In all I would very warmly recommend Fishing Galveston TX - I will be back to experience some flounder gigging with the captain in the near future. If you are in doubt, like I was, just give the captain a call. Youll know you are in the right place.

Capt Ernest took me and the guys out for my bachelor party. We had a great time as Capt Ernest took all of the variables of fishing out of the equation. We caught some huge reds that put up a heck of a fight all the while Capt Ernest was there to serve our every need. To have such a 5 star experience with local guides who are passionate about what they do for an affordable price like Fishing Galveston TX offers, is quite frankly, extraordinary. Fishing should be much more than just catching fish, it should be an opportunity to share the zeal for life and the passion for outdoors with your friends and family. FGTX offers that once in a lifetime opportunity to make memories.

This charter is very flexible for all ages and skill levels. All equipment is clean and up to date. We got to jam out to music on the boats stereo. Both times out I came home with a cooler full of exciting fish. If you dont have a good time with these guys then you dont belong anywhere near a boat. Lots of fishing action and a GREAT time all around. Mild to wild adventures. They have the saltwater soul that will put you on the fishies. Keep the lines tight and keep up the hard work.
