The ambience was great! But the food was just OK. The fries were salty, the biscuits were bone dry, Southern style chicken and their Famous Fried chicken were also dry, the breakfast potatoes were greasy! Not worth the price.

Fantastic brunch spot! Hubby and I met a friend here when we were in town. Loved the shopping/eating area! The service was great and the food was even better. I also ordered a side of biscuits but they forgot to bring them which is in my best interest lol! Great spot for brunch! The grits are the absolute best! Must visit.

I tried this place in Boise Idaho, the atmosphere was great but the customer service was a 5 star plus. In Boise I had the Shrimp and Grits and it was the bomb. So we decided to try the one out here in Frisco since we live here. First of all the atmosphere was definitely nice but the customer service was nothing like Boise. The waiters were nice but Boise waitresses have way more hospitality and energy. In Frisco we had the fried green tomatoes and they were definitely great, we had the fried chicken and the thing crispy on the chicken were the ends and the bottom of the chicken. That chicken had no flavor on the inside and definitely wasnt crispy, but the fries were good. We also had the Asheville Hot Fried Chicken, it tasted ok but it wasnt hot at all. Just a little note, my favorite dish is macaroni and cheese (I make it homemade) and at both restaurants the servers said dont get it because it doesnt taste well at all at Tupelo Honey. You all might want to find a better recipe if your own employees say that particular popular dish doesnt taste well.

Overall, I believe this restaurant was above average to good. We were there for a wedding party, so I believe the kitchen staff may have been overwhelmed by the party sized. This may have led to extended waiting periods between each course.

I think this place was hit with #bidenomics. We had such a poor experience on our last visit. My family used to frequent here often and bring family and friends when they d visit, but we moved out of the immediate area and haven t been in about a year. And boy have things taken a nosedive since then. Starting with the service, when we walked in it felt like we were an inconvenience, surprisingly so since there was only one other table of two at around 4pm. I brushed the service off. Sometimes people just have bad days. But the food, I couldn t get past. We were told there would be a wait for the chicken. Completely understandable, the food it made to order so it child be fresh. Wrong. We waited and recipe dry, lukewarm food. Not sure what the wait was for when they weren t busy AND the food was barely warm. Not to mention the portion sizes are much smaller than I remember as well. But it worked out because the food was barely edible. I saw other posts reiterating the same about the decreased quality in the food. Won t be back unless that changes. It s unfortunate, this place used to be a favorite.

We had a really good brunch here today. One order bacon and eggs and one order of cream brûlée chicken and waffles. Both were very good, my eggs were cooked perfectly to over medium, the bacon was crispy and yummy. The potatoes they serve are like deep fries potato truffles. They are awesome. My daughter s food was great as well. We order the chicken on plate because we knew it would be going home with us. The service Macey provided was exceptional. She even brought a thank you card with the check. Be sure and ask how to get a free pint glass during your visit. Highly recommend. Kid-friendliness: Yummy stuff for kids.

We dined at Tupelo Honey for a friends birthday. We made a reservation through Open Table as this place is fairly packed! I ordered the Mac-n-cheese Waffles with Asheville Hot Fried Chicken as the combination of flavors sounded delicious. The mac and cheese was my favorite component; amazing texture, creamy, cheesy, and with great flavor. The fried chicken was good too - nice and crispy, not dry, altthough I prefer a thicker batter/coating. The waffle couldve used a bit more time on the iron. Despite some room for improvement on individual components, the dish had good overall flavor. The sum was greater than its parts. For drinks, I had the Magic Lemonade - tableside color-changing experience with butterfly pea flower syrup. The color-changing effect was cool, but the taste of the cocktail was just okay. It needed more lemon flavor and a bit less sweetness. I could barely taste the alcohol, which might be a plus or minus depending on your preference. Our waitress was super nice, but the food did take a while to come out. The inside is fairly busy but it is very cute. Parking can be tricky, but theres a parking garage nearby. Overall, I had a great time at Tupelo Honey and would recommend it! Parking: A couple parking spots at front but there is a bigger Parking garage nearby

I wanted to update my review. Ive learned the restaurant holds tips i leave on a credit card for 2 weeks. I am leaving a well-earned tip for your staff, not giving you a free loan for cash flow! Will not be back till I know this practice is eliminated. You still have great comfort food, and brilliant cocktails. Id stick to the comfort food is my view from a limited sample size. Chicken is great. Brussel sprouts are maybe best I have had. I got the flat iron steak and wished I had opted for chicken fried steak.

Tupelo Honey is one of our favorite places for brunch. Their Chicken and Waffles are excellent, but the Avo Toast is a close second. We always order Biscuits for a Cause to start, which gives a % of the $ to charity. Chicken w as dry, maybe overcooked. Waffles, eggs, and mimosas didnt have any flavor distinct from anywhere where else. Actually waffles and eggs had no flavor at all. The chicken tasted like it was seasoned with black peper only. Server was decent until it was time to pay the check . He walked by SEVERAL TIMES, HELPING SEVERAL OTHER PEOPLE. We had our to go boxes and everything and it took at leasrt another 20-30 minutes before he ever made eye contact with us again despite there only being 2 other tables for a total of 3 or 4 other people in our section. Parking: Restaurants connected to TH are very popular so those places most likely get the better parking but the garage was only a brief walk and there was plenty of space in there.

It was my birthday and miscommunication led to a party of 17 with no reservation at another establishment. I walked over to Tupelo Honey, explained the situation to the manager and service captain, Cierra. She immediately went to the other staff to make it possible for us to be served. She set us up near a big screen TV in a private area with little time wasted. Our server Annie was accommodating, friendly and over all an awesome server (who BTW served us ALL by herself with a bit of assistance from Cierra.) The food was great and my celebration turned out to wonderful! I appreciate them so, so much for coming through clutch at the last minute. Everyone in my party was impressed and promised to return soon. Ty Cierra, Annie and all of the staff for making my bday dinner spectacular! Crystal B.

I cant express how utterly disappointed I am with my recent visit to Tupelo. Not only was the food subpar, but the treatment we received was utterly appalling. Despite the restaurant being empty, we were rudely escorted outside in the scorching heat, as if our presence was somehow unwelcome. The blatant racism exhibited by the staff left a sour taste in my mouth that no amount of seasoning could mask. The woman at the front desk made us stand in the foyer for a staggering 20 minutes, despite the entire restaurant being empty. I will never step foot in this establishment again, and I urge others to do the same until they address their abhorrent behavior. This establishment not only lacks basic human decency but also fails miserably in providing even mediocre service. I implore anyone considering dining here to think twice and take their business elsewhere

I quite enjoyed Saturday brunch here at Tupelo. The staff was very kind and we were seated immediately. Parking is a bit of a walk away but there is a parking garage that should have available spots consistently. You just may be stuck in the garage if there is quite a bit of people. Great location for this restaurant and a lovely collection of southern cuisines in a modern take. Must try the sriracha chicken and waffles. Even the biscuits and gravy was decadent and delicious. I also got the shrimp and grits which I had high hopes for but the grits wasn t creamy enough and the shrimps were flavorful but lacked spice. I asked for hot sauce on the side and that helped a bunch! The drink menu is very interesting! I recommend the butterfly pea lemonade. But I have to say, for a place that serves brunch, there is very poor coffee options. They offer cold brew or house coffee without many flavoring options. Do not get the cold brew, it was so sour tasting that we had to send it back. Otherwise, we very much enjoyed our brunch experience at Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen & Bar!

I went to this place when it first opened in the Star, and my memory of it was great, but in a recent trip here after a business meeting, I was sadly unimpressed. The food price to size offering seems outrageous (though I welcome smaller portion sizes from more restaurants) - you still want to see value. The biscuits - which, again, I remembered as amazing - were so hard they were inedible. I do love the Porch Sipper selection. This is a great addition to any menu. I would love to go back in a few months and see this small chain had turned things around, but judging by how empty the place was...I am not sure it will still be there. Side note, while the waitress we had was great, the hostess was quite possibly the least friendly person in the place, not a great start.

Overall a very average experience. There is limited parking out front similar to other restaurants in The Star District. When we arrived there was no one at the front door so when you first walk in you are in the front center of the restaurant, so you can see everything. Luckily we didnt have to wait long to be seated otherwise the area can get crowded very quickly. The restaurant is nicely appointed and there are plenty of windows making the natural aesthetics and bright lights appeasing. I cant remember the waitress name, but she was nice and attentive enough, although barely cracked a smile throughout our entire interaction. We ordered a few appetizers, beer and sausage gumbo and the rice was raw and inedible. There was no apology or visit from the manager but the gumbo was taken off the bill. Fried pickles were decently cooked but nothing to really brag about. We ordered three different versions of the chicken (sandwich, smothered, and fried) and while very tasty, the portions were small compared to the price. The chocolate cake was dense with minimal cake but large amounts of icing. Better than a box but on par with a grocery store cake ordered in advance. The banana pudding was delicious but be fair warned a small is legit small. It was almost laughable (think sample or kids order size). Bill came up to about $95 before tip with no alcoholic drinks ordered. Would only go again if someone else suggests it and makes a reservation as the only thing worth returning for would be the chicken.

Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen & Bar is a southern style restaurant located in Frisco, Texas. Ive had brunch at this establishment three times, so I figured it was time to write a review. For starters, we had the biscuits for a cause served with blueberry jam and fried green tomatoes served over heirloom grits and goat cheese. Both were superb. For my meal, I had the sriracha honey friend chicken and waffles. The sriracha sauce is amazing. No sides come with this meal, so if you have a hearty appetite, make sure you order your bacon and eggs on the side. My friend enjoyed the smothered chicken and biscuits. I wasnt in the mood for mimosas, so I ordered a bottle of wine with my meal and my friends ordered the mimosa flights, which Im happy I decided to opt out, because theyre made with a flavored syrup of some sort, which was way too sweet for my liking. Overall, our time here was pleasant. Our server was attentive, they seated us on time for the reservation and the food was good.

Best to try and finding a parking space in the garage or pay to park across the street or valet.

Not the best experience here. We all ordered the Mahi, it was cold for all of us, meat was. It flaky and fresh. Seemed cooked then frozen. It gave two of us major allergic reactions. Had to take my employee to the urgent care. Would habe probably ly drank 3x the beers had the waitress come by more often.

Great concept, but having lived in Mississippi for a large portion of my life I found the fried chicken, their signature dish, disappointing. I ordered on two different occasions just to be sure it wasnt an off night....... both times were just underwhelming.

The meat was plated on top the potatoes so I couldnt even enjoy the potatoes. The server didnt even ask if we were enjoying our meal. I would have said absolutely NOT.

TUPELO HONEY | Southern Kitchen & Bar | Frisco, Tx Walking into the restaurant on a gloomy and rainy Wednesday afternoon I must say that I did not expect it to be busy! Since I was meeting a work associate for lunch I was lucky to have snagged reservations and highly recommend considering making a quick reservation for yourself when you decide to indulge in their sophisticated southern cuisine. The brand describes themselves as a fusion between Southern & Appalachian Mountain cuisine and, while I have never heard of such a thing, it is certainly delicious! To start we shared their Famous Fried Green Tomatoes that were perfectly done. Fried Green Tomatoes are not quite as soft as a ripe tomato and being lightly crusted and pan-fried gives them the perfect light crunch to start your meal. I did see the Biscuits for a Cause pass to another table and found myself already planning my next trip back to try those! Since I am always a Brunch girl, I ordered the Smoked Salmon Grit Cake & Eggs for my main course and my eggs were cooked perfectly! The grit cake was very soft and easy to enjoy and paired very well with the capers and smoked salmon. I wish I could have enjoyed dessert and will have to save that for my next trip as well. So many reasons to go back! I was also very happy to see a Non-Alcoholic Menu and highly recommend the turmeric ginger tonic (if you like ginger)! Treat yourself to Tupelo Honey, make reservations, and enjoy the southern charm!

We ve been at this restaurant for a birthday celebration. We were a big group and ordered different dishes from the menu. My dish, mahi mahi was very dry, and the side salad greens didn t look in great shape. Since we were a big group we sat at an isolated corner, so I didn t really get the restaurant atmosphere or vibe. I think the best thing was the biscuit.

It tasted as if they literally dumped the entire bag of salt into the batter. I gave the food back, and paid for the drinks. The waitress didn t check on us as much so when we finally did receive our food it was kind of cold. I really wanted to like this restaurant but it was terrible.

I am really disappointed with the takeout food and drink I had today. The shrimp and grits lacked flavor and only had a few shrimp, the grits were more like rice because it was so chunky. The peach pineapple drink was not worth the $5.50 price at all, I only tasted watered down peach juice. The saddest part of my food was the dessert the chocolate pecan pie, it was so loose I couldn t tell that it was a pie at all and the flavor didn t resemble a pecan pie I ever tasted before I ve had better from grocery stores , their was an over abundance of pecans and the chocolate didn t help it at all, it was definitely the worst pecan pie I ever had. This will be my last time at Tupelo honey.

My first visit here and I loved the Mac and cheese waffles and fried pickles. I was disappointed that they don t serve blue cheese here but I digress. Service was mediocre, our server did not check in with us as much as she should have to ensure we were taken care of. It took 30 minutes after 7 pm to receive a drink from the bar and when I did it was melted. I refused the drink& requested a fresh drink. That one came out a bit more promptly and it was just ok. We sat on the patio, it was nice but service overall on the patio was not acceptable for any of the patrons there in my opinion. Side note: I circled the entrance several times bc there was not signage on the building from the driving areas. Parking garage was easy access/exit. Again, food was great but service and ease of locating the business was unacceptable!

A friend and I stopped by for dinner late Tuesday evening. I had only been one other time early morning for a networking event at 10 on Wednesdays but also to their dance night on the weekends. All three times I ve been there, the atmosphere is very friendly and inviting. I appreciate the variety in foods that they offer. My friend and I had some Salmon cakes, so delicious! Crispy and soft in the center. I got the harvest bowl with chicken. Although the chicken was a bit dry, it was quite savory. I ordered a BLT chicken sandwich to go and oh my! Best midnight snack ever!! We finished dinner with a mouth watering banana pudding desert and a complimentary delicious chocolate cake! -thanks Kiyle! Definitely satisfied with my dining experience here, I recommend that you come and see for yourself next time you re at the star! And!! Macy, our server, was simply phenomenal! 5 out of 5 stars!! Parking: Parking in the garage is guaranteed to not be a huge hassle versus finding one right up front

After hearing much hype about this vaunted location we decided to try it for our triple Birthday dinner! That is I, my wife and my step daughter all have our birthdays in the same week. Unfortunately I cannot in good conscience provide good marks nor endorse this place as a favorite . I can only assume from our poor experience and the other wise high ratings they have scored in the past that something has changed drastically and not for the better. 1) It was after peak time on a Saturday night and we had reservations already. We where a party of 6 four adults and my 2 grandchildren. 2) It seemed to take a abnormally long time to get the first drinks. Something close to 20 minutes from the time we ordered them, to when they arrived?! Our Appetizers arrived to our table before our first drinks did! (SORRY NOT A GOOD START) Infact we where done with our appetizer ( we selected The fried Green Tomatos which where the only thing that actually impressed us here) The Fried Green Tomatoes where very good. It took almost another 10 minutes and flagging down our waiter again to remind him we where dying of thirst before they finally showed up. Very disappointing. We also ordered our food then when our drinks arrived. It took approximately 40 more minutes for our orders to arrive and my glass sat empty on the table for atleast another 20 minutes of that time even though I had ordered another drink( Went with just beer this time to make it quicker and easier on the obviouly over taxed bar staff, made no difference). We even made a few joking comments to our waiter who looked like Patrick Swayze when he was in high school.. instead of apologizing for their lackluster service he just solemnly agreed and joked back. 3) I had their original honey dusted chicken dinner. Now the flavor and the recipe I can give kudos for the chicken was perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked, however the peices of which their where a thigh and 2 legs where so small I can say I have had Quail and Pheasent which where nearly as large and plump. For the price I really expected more. The Bacon glazed Collard greens where delicious and perfectly cooked. (Maybe I should have went vegetarian here?) Also the Pecan Pie we had as a dessert was delicious, probably the highest point of the night besides the Fried Green Tomato appetizer that we had at least a hour and a half earlier. After this lackluster experience I cant recommend this location until some significant changes are made. Our tables tab was around $230, in these trying economic times I would not spend my hard earned money for something like this again. Better options avaliable in our area.

The menus packed with brunch classics turned gourmet, and every dish we tried hit the spot. Sure, waiting isnt fun, but trust me, the flavors are worth it. This was an enjoyable experience, for the most part. Our service was great as the staff worked really well together ensuring that we always had what we needed. The cadence in service was also very efficient from seating to order taking to served food. My only issue was with the actual flavor of the food. The fried chicken was breaded well but some of the breading was undercooked leaving for a distasteful texture. The seasoning was also a bit lacking. I had the harvest bowl which left a bit to be desired in flavors and textures. I would definitely give it another go because there is great potential in the menu selection.

We visited this place after Sunday church service. Food was decent and the service was fine, however, there was negative interaction from the hostess who greets everyone at the door that could be much, much better. In fact, they would do well to remove her from the door. She is the heavy set lady who is also bad built. Upon entering, she asks us if we have a reservation. We told her we did not. Then she rolled her eyes and says well it will be about an hour wait. We looked around the restaurant and the restaurant was half filled. Empty tables were everywhere. We decided to stay anyway. She took our phone number down and said they would text us. 21 minutes later, we received our text that our table was ready. In that 21 minutes while we waited, we watched her tell every one else the same spill, in hopes that they would decline to wait and leave. Not ONE person had to wait for an hour! They werent even busy. It seems like she just didnt want to deal with people that day but her attitude and disregard for patrons who are trying to visit the establishment and bring revenue in is very off-putting. She needs to be reassigned to the back of the house or somewhere else that doesnt involve dealing with the public who she obviously despises. Besides, there were 3 hostess at the door. Please leave the other 2 young girls and take the large mean lady away. She has ZERO social skills.

I tried Tupelo Honey today for the first time with a friend I hadn t seen in eight months so I was excited to take our time and catch up and enjoy some drinks and try the food. This restaurant came recommended to me by another friend. We tried the pimento cheese dip, which was the only good thing we had during this experience. We ordered drinks, the debutante, another vodka based cocktail with blueberry I can t remember the name of it. They were too sweet and just tasted the same as each other, just like lemonade. My friend ordered the fried chicken and biscuit. I ordered the country style fried chicken and waffles. I started on my plate when halfway through my first waffle I spot a black curly hair in the gravy of my food. At that point my friend stops talking and sees me really untangle the hair from inside the food. And she said, Carla you do not have curly hair, that is not your hair. She knows already I don t like sending food back or complaining to the waiter. We ve both worked in the restaurant industry so we know how annoying it is. So I calmly wave down the waiter and ask him for just some regular classic chicken and waffles since I found a hair in this one and didn t make it a big deal. I was thinking surely he ll comp my meal or my drink or just something to make up for it (not the entire meal, but just something small). He didn t really come back around and ask how the food was this time around or if we needed anything. You could tell he was kind of avoiding having to come back and check up on us after that situation so we felt a bit neglected. I get it wasn t his fault there was a hair in my food but he didn t ever apologize on behalf of the kitchen or say we ll fix this for you. He just grabbed the evidence and disappeared. I m just a bit shocked at his response to the matter and didn t feel like he tried to do anything to make things right. I won t be going back here.
