I had a way better Marufuku Ramen in Japan Town San Francisco. Not sure why there is so much difference in quality of the broth and noodles in Frisco. So disappointed. Couldn t finish chashu due to gamey smell. The broth smelled. The noodles were undercooked. Anyone had same experience?

It was great! I would definitely come back! This place has the best tonkotsu broth Ive had in a while. It wasnt too salty or overpowering which was great! I also enjoyed the length of the noodles and loved how I didnt have to struggle getting the perfect bite. Next time Im back, Ill definitely have to try out their gluten free noodles! Dietary restrictions: They have gluten-free noodles! Just keep in mind the broth isnt gluten-free. For those with a mere gluten intolerance, thisll hurt a bit, but I think its worth it lol. To my poor allergic/celiac/gluten sufferers, yeah this aint worth playing around and finding out

I thought the Spicy Tan Tan Ramen was too salty and expensive. You get ramen, broth, a quarter of minced chicken, 1 boiled egg, two pieces of lettuce, and some beansprouts for $17. Noodle was a little hard, I didnt like it. The Hakata broth and noodles were good, but thats $16 for a small bowl of ramen, broth, and a few thinly slices of boiled pork belly. The meat was okay... it lacks flavor. It also wasnt tender. I feel like for a small bowl with little substance.. the price shouldnt be so high. I wasnt also impressed by the service either. I would rather order from a kiosk.

Such a gem nestled into a strip mall! Everything about Marufuku was amazing. The food was delicious: my wife ordered the Tonkotsu ramen and I ordered the chicken ramen, we also got a side of fried chicken and marufuku bites. Everything was so good! Service was great too. I loved the hip atmosphere and music selection. Its a place I would find comfortable enough to visit with friends but also special enough to take out of towners. My wife visited the Marufuku in San Francisco, and she said that everything about the Frisco location, from the food to the decor, was extremely similar to the San Francisco location. I am absolutely looking forward to coming back here.

The service was good, we werent overcharged for the member of our party who wanted plain broth and noodles (we were charged about half of the price for the full bowl with all the toppings), and the braised thick pork belly that comes with the Hakata Tonkotsu XD was easily the most flavorful piece of meat I have eaten I recent history. I had the pleasure of dining here for a Memorial Day dinner with an old friend visiting from out of town. He had been missing good ramen, and I had heard good things about Marufuku. We were seated immediately upon arrival and our server, Zoe, was very kind and offered to give us a full overview of the menu as it was our first time in. I ordered some Hoji Cha and my friend got the Black Yuzu Sake. We decided to split an order of the Marufuku Bites and each got a the Hakata Tonkotsu Ramen DX. The drinks arrived and they were excellent. Hot tea was exactly what I wanted and they were happy to refill as needed. Zoe also explained to us that the sake could be drunken with the wooden box that was carrying the shot glass. That was an eye opening tech! My friend tried it and enjoyed it. The Marufuku Bites (their pork bao buns) arrived first. The buns were very fresh and the meat was delectible. It was a good thing we split the order to allow us to save room for dessert! Our ramens arrived shortly after and they were EXQUISITE. In my opinion, the Tonkotsu DX is definitely the way to go. The chasu was great, but the braised pork belly added through the DX order was game changing. The meat was so good. I also dont often drink much of the broth in my ramen, but this time around I had to. Everything was excellent. Im definitely coming back. I want to try other items on the menu, but I may not be able to resist getting the Hakata Tonkotsu DX again!

Marufuku Ramen is definitely one of the better ramen joints we experienced so far in the DFW area. I had a spicy Hakata Tonkotsu while my wife ordered a mild Hakata Tonkotsu DX. The main difference is the DX has corn kernels, a nori sheet and a slab of braised pork belly (kakuni). Of all the ramen joints weve experienced so far in the North Texas, Marufukus tonkotsu broth is spot on, flavorful and very rich. The spicy level of spiciness is just enough to get the sinus working, but not overbearing such that youre spending more time extinguishing the flames instead of enjoying a delicious slurp. Service was great too, our waitress checked up on us continuously, which is not common for ramen joints. Definitely a little pricier per bowl compared to other ramen joints, but totally worth it. Marufuku also serves alcohol, so thats also a plus.

I missed ramen because I was hit by a cold wave and it was cold, so I went to Texas and had ramen. A ramen shop with several stores in the United States. The staffs response was pleasant. If its your first time, I recommend the Hakata Tonkotsu DX and gyoza. The gyoza is a very delicious grilled gyoza with a crispy exterior. As for ramen, it would be nice to have this ramen in America. While there are many noodles that are quite thick and curly, Hakata ramen has thin noodles. Its a shame that the noodles were a little soft, but if I asked for them to be harder, would they be able to accommodate that? Also, the slightly hard and firm braised braised topping was quite to my liking and delicious. If I have a chance, Id like to ask for harder noodles next time.

Loved all the foods. Pork Ramen was great. Marufuku Bites were delicious. Server was attentive and checked on us multiple times. It was pretty cold inside in January. Lots of people leaving their costs on while they ate, so not sure if the heat was having trouble or if just the door opening all the time let too much cold air in, but thats the only negative I had. I loved the music they played (mostly rock).

Almost as good as my favorite Marufuku in San Francisco s Japantown. Ramen noodles have great texture. Soft boiled eggs are always cooked to perfection, even for to-go orders. The meat, both chashu (tonkotsu ramen) and chicken (chicken paitan ramen), are soft and flavorful. The broth can be so inconsistent though, occasionally too salty. Ika kaarage tastes great. Chicken kaarage is pretty good too. Takoyaki is so-so, very few bits of octopus. For hot tea, they serve amazing Hojicha (but the waitress says its green tea). The restaurants atmosphere is cozy. Service is pretty slow, even on slow Monday night. But the food comes out fast after ordering. All in all, this is my go-to ramen place in DFW now. I really hope the kitchen can fix the sometime-too-salty broth issue.

Marufuku ramen in Frisco is a delightful dining experience for any ramen lovers. I tried their Tonkotsu ramen, and it was a bowl of comfort. The broth is rich and creamy, with a deep pork flavor, and the noodles are perfectly chewy. The toppings, including the soft-boiled egg and cha shu pork, were also fantastic. The menu offers various options for different tastes, whether you prefer traditional or spicy ramen. The chicken karaage was a great side dish, crispy on the outside and packed with flavor on the inside The service was friendly and efficient. The staff was knowledgeable about the menu and provided excellent recommendations. The restaurant has an inviting atmosphere, and the open kitchen adds authenticity, allowing you to watch the skilled chefs at work. The price justifies the quality and quantity of the ramen they serve.

The Ramen was delicious. We waited for a while before we were acknowledged by wait staff. Considered leaving. Finally we asked a young lady who was our server. She acted surprised that we hadnt been helped. Order was placed, and it came out pretty fast. We were forced to move seats as the ac was dripping down on us. The food was very good!

We stopped at Marufuku Ramen after being turned down by another ramen place across the street. Despite the deviation from our plans, I enjoyed my visit at Marufuku. The ramen was pretty solid; definitely one of the better bowls Ive had in the DFW area. The inside is pretty spacious compared to some other ramen shops Ive been to. The interior is also quite nice. I ordered the Hakata Tonkotsu DX ramen. The presentation was on point. There is soy sauce and spice on the side to flavor your bowl to your liking. I didnt have to add any seasoning as I found the broth to already be rich and flavorful. The broth was definitely the best executed portion of the ramen. Next, I appreciated the generous portion size of pork - 2 slices and a rectangular cut of pork belly. The slices were on the drier side, but the bigger rectangular cut was more tender. The egg had a perfect soft-boiled consistency, but it was just a plain egg and not marinated. Lastly, I wasnt the biggest fan of the type of noodles used. I prefer slightly thicker and more sparingly noodles, but I guess it boils down to personal preference. The service was prompt and friendly. Apple Pay is accepted here. Overall, I would recommend Marufuku Ramen for anyone looking for a solid bowl of ramen in Frisco.

The food is pretty good. I had chicken paitan. The egg inside was cooked to perfection. Edamame was average, it was good, just nothing special about it. My favorite part was that the bowls and plates were labeled Marufuku Ramen . Neat. Two types of wine on the menu and they ran out of one. I had a beer. Even though the food was good there wasn t enough umf for me to crave it . I would go back if invited or nearby.

We came last night to escape the cold and got seated right away. We ordered the rice bowl with the cod roe and the vegetable ramen bowl. Ive to say that there is nothing like flavorful hot broth to warm you up on a cold night. Im not sure why there are so many 1 star reviews but our server was this super nice guy and our food came out within minutes. We continue to dote on marufuku.

I got here today at 11:55am (Tuesday) for lunch and they are NOT open although on their door it clearly says they OPEN on Tuesday from 11:30am to 2:30pm for lunch. Okay maybe they are still getting ready I thought to myself because I did see someone walking inside. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and came back around 12:15pm. And their door was still LOCKED. This is ridiculous. Will never come back again

With all the hype about this place, I had really high expectations but was left underwhelmed! It wasnt bad at all, but it wasnt memorable. Maybe its just not my type of ramen, but it tasted like something I couldve gotten elsewhere without a long wait or at least with some customization. If you like Ramen Nagi, I would stick to that instead. I wouldnt go out of my way to come here unless a friend really wanted to try it. HAKATA TONKOTSU: 3.5/5 The broth had flavor, but the tonkotsu was very light in taste. I wouldve preferred a more rich pork broth or more garlic. I ordered this at medium spice and had to add a decent amount more to better enjoy the broth. The chashu was alright but nothing special. One nice thing is that a whole soft-boiled egg is included in the $16 bowl, when most places usually include only a half or charge you for an entire egg. For additional spice after ordering your spice level, I was expecting a spicy paste or oil to add in. But, there instead is a little container with what seemed like cayenne pepper in a jar, which was disappointing for a quality restaurant like this. My friend did enjoy his Chicken Paitan DX, which is a limited quantity item (only 15 bowls made per day). I thought the broth was good but not my taste, but the grilled chicken leg that came with it was amazing! It had a really yummy, sweet marinade.

My photo is just the standard bowl without any extras. I feel like this is a bit overpriced at $29 for lunch + $6 tip = $35.

Normally a regular here, and the food used to be absolutely amazing. New management came in a few weeks ago, and unfortunately everything has gone downhill. The food is still great quality as the chefs are the same (hearty broth, noodles and everything perfectly cooked, etc) but the changed recipes are just. lacking. The prices have shot up, and the ultra spicy is about as spicy as ketchup. They dont give an egg with the ramen anymore? As if any self respecting ramen shop would do that- The delicious house sauce is gone as the kitchen isnt allowed to make it anymore, and you can tell management is being hard for no reason. Apparently the new owners want to make the atmosphere cleaner and more like corporate, but all theyve done is whitewash and drag down a delicious local ramen joint. Three stars because the staff and cooks are lovely, and its not their fault. (I am also not the only regular to be unhappy with the changes)

Not many options or extras to customize your ramen. You cant even get extra garlic. The spicy wasnt spicy at all. The fried squid wasnt fresh. Pot stickers were dry and over cooked. We also had to call the waiter over for more water and beer because they didnt check on us.

*Update* 10/16/2022 The first time my wife and I came to this spot was about 2 months ago. Maybe a month after, we attempted to go again and they were closed with a sign on the door that made me think they were renovating. Fast forward, we go to this restaurant today and the menu is had about 1/4 of what was previously presented. The service was still great. The broth was good but the noodle were only a few crinkles away from Top Ramen or just not cooked long enough. The spice levels are not spicy at all. I compared it to adding your favorite seasoning salt with paprika. I was disappointed to say the least. I was told that they are under new management. *The review review below is from my experience here in 08/2022.* This is my #1 Ramen spot. The service was great. The food was fantastic and the ambiance was relaxing.

This is the second time Ive been to this location and Im still not disappointed. The first time we ordered ramen with the thick noodles. The soup was flavorful and the noodles were nice and chewy. This time we ordered the thin noodles and they were just as chewy. The rice bowls are a good option for those who dont want noodles. We ordered the thick pork belly bowl. The service is very quick.
