Overall, great food! This place is typically spot on with flavor, ambiance, and quality! Their chicken/egg/avacado plate is my all time favorite! The chicken teriyaki was a bit dry. I d requested less oil, perhaps that could ve been a factor.

Came in on a Wednesday evening with friends to try out since it was local and had good reviews. Unfortunately I have to say we were thoroughly disappointed. The service is fast and friendly however the food quality does not keep up. I would not recommend getting any rolls with tuna as it is brown in color and definitely the worst tuna we have ever had. We tried the Dynamite Roll, a specialty roll which unknowingly also had tuna in it. I regret not taking a photo but for $15 a roll I would expect more than a california roll with orange sauce over it. The rice was very old and overall the sushi was lower quality than a grocery store. The miso soup was pretty good and I am sure the hibachi is worth a try someday but not from my friends and I.

Excellent service! Super yummy food! We came it at 9pm (pretty close to closing) and we were met with a super friendly smile. We were very hungry and needed dinner before we drove back to Oklahoma. We all got rolls, edamame, a kids plate, and seriously the best Crab Rangoon. VERY FAST! so delicious. The kids plate was actually a great big portion (could feed an adult). Everything was fresh and we were able to watch him make our rolls right at the bar in front of us. 100% recommend! Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly. The staff were so kind and talked with our little one!

Japanese Resturant with mostly chinese dishes, fried rice and Vietnamese pho noodles, instead of Japanese Udon or Ramon. Food: Sushi fish was tasteless, rice was old, spicy tuna roll has no spice. Surprisingly, meat ball pho s broth was tasty, plenty of noodles but meat ball was old and dried up. Service: Hard working lady, don t want to explain much. Atmosphere: nothing special. Small place, black board take up the whole wall. It got hot every time door opens, I m sure it would be super cold in the winter time.

Took a lunch special which gives 2 rolls and 4 peices of different sushi and miso soup. I took shrimp tempura roll and spicy tuna which were really good. Out of the 4 different sushis, only 2 of them were fresh and tasted good the other too fish were chewy, i guess it was not the fresh fish. Miso soup was served hot and was yumm.

I called from their website and ordered for takeout. They said it would be about 15 minutes. I showed up and my food was ready. When I went to pay, she asked me for $18.50 for the LUNCH SPECIAL! I requested a review of that cost since thats not the price listed on their website and she said she wouldnt honor that price and the price she was telling me was accurate because the prices have gone up. The food was good but the customer service of not honoring a price on their website and just arbitrarily telling someone what the price is, didnt sit well with me. The price listed online for the Thursday lunch was $14.95. Thats $4 more. I feel stolen from and totally disrespected as a customer. I told her if they were going to charge that then they needed to change their website and she didnt even respond or offer any kind of accommodation for the inconvenience. I wont be going back.

This is the definition of a great Hole-In-The-Wall restaurant. My Family with a party of 7 celebrated a birthday here and had a great time. The staff was very friendly. We all enjoyed our meals and all the food was so fresh and tasty. The attention to detail was impressive, the detailed all shrimp and served the steak and scallops perfectly cooked. The dinners are a must but be prepared to ear a lot or have left overs. 5/5 Amazing food with good service, what more can you want? Vegetarian options: They have lots of options such as fried rice with vegetables, vegatable tempura, and steam vegetables. Dietary restrictions: They can adjust accordingly to a diet. Parking: Parking is ample right out front. Kid-friendliness: Its a family friendly place. Wheelchair accessibility: They have ramps in the parking lot and roll right in.

Went to lunch with 4 other buddies and was greated quickly and sat down. Food was great but could do without some of the smack talk from the server about our sushi order. You asked us for our sushi order then after writing it down took the paper and confused the sushi chef then blamed us for ordering wrong. Literally could see and hear the conversation from my table. Probably shouldnt talk smack about one guy making sushi and be a little more supportive. All in all. Food was great. Sushi on point and give that man a raise.

I took my family to visit Koto because I had tried the pho. I thought I bring my family in for dinner only to be disappointed by the service staff. The last time I visited I noticed the sushi chef was drinking an open beer around the food prep area. This time I saw the same sushi chef vaping and blowing his smoke around the food prep area. This was completely disgusting and unsanitary. I had ordered sushi for my kids and I so I had to say something. I approached the counter to find him vaping and scratching his lotto ticket in the counter where sushi is made. I told him that wasnt sanitary and I think he should not be smoking around the food of all places. He just said, I know, I know... and looked down. I asked if he could wear a mask which he did put on but during our meal he snuck in his habit which clearly is fine with the entire staff. Im in the food service business and thats unacceptable if it were my establishment. Im no longer a customer. Our server also had a cough which later were told she had asthma... not sure how true that is. There are many more places to go where the sushi is delicious and the chefs are practicing good food and safety and proper food handling NOT drinking open beer and vaping.

This restaurant was a 4.5 I loved the food, but the actual restaurant was a bit cramped, and when I was trying to watch the game on their tv, I was bombarded with tall objects blocking me from watching. The waiters also looked at me weirdly when I told them to take a few things off my dish. The other thing is everyone heard me and my family of 5s conversation because of how petit the restaurant is. All in all I had a good experience, and they were able to perfectly execute my requests and it made for a great experience for my brothers birthday.

The sushi is really fresh, large portions, and the staff are super friendly! We loved going here when it was Tomos but I have to admit, Kotos has taken it up a notch! Everyone that works here seem to really enjoy working here, especially Jen! Jen always had a big smile on her face and jumped anytime you asked her for something! We loved Tomos but the staff back then just didnt give off any warm or fuzzy feelings and Koto does! My friends did wish they had the fried fish cheeks, but absent that, I cant say enough good things about Kotos! The BYOB takes it over the top because we love bringing our own wine!

We recently moved to the area and have been wanting to try Koto for a few months now after driving by it - boy, do we wish we would have tried it sooner! We ordered take out this evening and every detail of the experience was on point - rolls are well portioned, high quality fish/ingredients, very fresh and flavorful. In addition to great food, the presentation and packaging is just as well done, even with it being to go. Each sauce is hand labeled along with each dish. This will be our new go to spot when looking for Japanese cuisine and I would highly recommend checking it out. Our order included the following: - Joes Special Roll (excellent, especially if you enjoy spicy tuna) - Koto Spring Roll (very good, imagine a large sliced spring roll with fresh salmon, crab mix and tuna) - Cucumber roll (fresh, crisp and beautifully plated) - Volcano Roll (we did the crawfish and it didnt disappoint) - Tornado Roll - Rainbow Roll - Miso soup

Read good reviews on this place and decided to give it a try. I was expecting a much larger restaurant with a full sushi bar and hibachi tables. Very small dining area (20x20) and only 6 dining tables. This place looked like a take-out only establishment. Service was great. Food presentation was good. The yellow tail and white tuna was not very fresh and the cuts of tuna were not good quality. The taste & texture of the rice seemed to me as though it was made a few days prior. Caterpillar roll was okay (about on par with grocery store sushi). Very disappointed in the quality of the food. I do not understand how this place received 4.9 stars in previous reviews. Will not go back.

My order was wrong and then the waitress debated it with me. Instead of making a spectacle of myself and that I was really hungry I kept the dish. It was a $40 dish and the lobster was cold and dry, scallops were amazing supposed to have had steak, Instead got shrimp and shrimp was decent. I wasn t impressed with the service. One of the parties ordered California rolls as a main dish and it came out with the other rolls that were ordered as appetizers on the same plate. The waitress then grabbed chopsticks from the parties hand and removed California rolls on separate dish. The food came out in an un-orderly fashion, I expected better, I spent $200 for a party of five. Overall the food was pretty decent.

I highly recommend the off the menu items like the mistake roll and the yellow tail collar. So happy to have koto part of the frisco community. Please support local business like this. You will NOT be disappointed.

Sushi Nirvana, probably the best youll find in the Metroplex. Stellar spicy garlic edamame, spicy tuna roll that isnt made of tuna mince, its chunks of tuna with spices added and minimal rice, and super fresheverything. A dont miss.
