Not sure if my family and I came on an off day, but our experience was not that pleasant. My husband is also French so we were excited to try this place out as we love a good patisserie. We were not greeted when we walked in and the girl behind the counter did not look happy to be there or seemed like she did not want to help us. It was our first time so it felt a little unwelcoming. It was a Sunday before lunch hour and did not seem that busy inside. We ordered some drinks, pastries and quiche. Their coffee was good, the quiche we had was decent, but the croissants that we ordered tasted stale. The pastries did look lovely, however, they were nothing to rave about. Unsure if we ll come back and try them again.

Overall a very nice place. Service was a little hit and miss. I asked for two pastries. She put one in a container before placing it in a bag, but placed the other pastry uncovered in the bag. Toppings fell throughout bag. She recovered after I asked for a container. A little attention to detail gains them another star.

A great baguette and croissant restaurant. The cappuccino croissant is the most delicious, and the baguette is especially great. Take two each. Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. The other breads are not bad, but they are a bit short. A baguette alone is enough.

My wife and I went to Tulla cafe the other day. We bought some Chocolate and butter croissants. They were a perfect blend of fluffy and crispy with that awesome butter flavor. My kids fell in love with the chocolate croissants. Everything looked and smelled absolutely delicious. By far the best bakery I have been to in the area. I will definitely be recommending this place to family and friends.

We bought the lemon berry cake. The presentation was beautiful! Unfortunately, the cake itself was incredibly dry. Not one person finished their slice. *edited to add: after the owner s reply to my review I contacted the store. The manager I spoke with very nice/apologetic and offered a full refund or a gift card

I had a very disappointing experience with my recent coffee purchase. Despite the lid being securely in place, the cup started leaking while I was drinking. The paper cup itself felt fragile, and the leak caused the hot coffee to spill on me. This is unacceptable and made for an unpleasant experience. The quality of the cups needs to be improved to prevent this from happening again.

Been here twice. Both times, the service is quite adequate. The employees do not strive to make you feel welcome. It just feels like they are going through the motions. They do the job and that s about it. Take note about how many other reviews reference the poor service. I would say that it s time to start paying attention to a common complaint and make some changes. While the coffee is good and the baked items are good (at least what I have tried), the cake we ordered for Mother s Day was dry. For the price, I expected a cake with a flavor that would be noticeably yummy. Unfortunately, it was very OK and dry and crumbly. Considering this place is a solid 20 minute drive for us, I don t expect to be back.

Im so disappointed. I just left the shop after receiving abysmally bad customer service by a tall blonde lady with fake eyelashes. She would not even look me in the eye as I was standing in front of her to tell her my order. She carefully avoided my gaze until she couldnt. Did not greet us hello when we entered the shop, nor acknowledge our presence. Some ladies were still deciding what to get, so the tulla lady was not busy. Its frustrating to go to such an expensive bakery and feel like the staff is annoyed at having to serve you. And when we got home and saw inside the bag, she had just thrown the croissant in the paper bag alongside my packaged cake but didnt even bother to wrap it in some wax paper or a napkin. To management: train your staff better or youll lose business. You just lost us.

Best bakery we have found in Texas and, Honestly, anywhere. Everything is wonderful here. Here is that we have tried: -Macarons: beautiful. Light. Not dry. Taste very much like their advertised flavor. Not too sweet at all. Perfect level of sweetness. I usually dont care for macarons but I love them here. The whole family does. -cakes: we have tried the lemon berry, German chocolate, triple chocolate. All are wonderful. The chocolate is rich and intense but not overpowering. Cakes have a beautiful crumb, are moist but not soggy, layered so delicately and abundantly, and have balanced flavors. Fillings stay in place as your fork slices through the cake instead of ooze out everywhere. To me, that is the perfect amount of filling. Lastly, the frostings are to die for. I usually scrape frosting off of cake because its too sweet, grainy, bland, etc. Not here. Im like a kid eating spoonfuls of frosting! -Baguette: so fresh. Crunchy crust. Tender inside. Has substance but not heavy in any way. Soaks up soups or balsamic/olive oil well without disintegrating like grocery store Baguette. It can stand up to whatever you do with it but tastes lovely all alone too. The other night we just ate charcuterie with one of their baguettes for dinner. The kids loved it too. Easy and affordable dinner idea for the family. -pastries: everything made with the croissant pastry is transcendent. That pastry is perfectly crisp on the outside, then gives away to a moist buttery interior. It almost explodes with little shards of crunchy pastry falling about with every bite. I end up with croissant shards all over my face and lap, and i love it. Her pairings accompany the pastry perfectly. The almond croissant is the best baked thing I have ever eaten. Ever. Warm out of the oven, with a well-prepared coffee (also served there). Crunchy almond topping and mildly sweet almond filling inside , sprinkled with powdered sugar. My eyes roll back into my head. I have already told my husband that I will require an almond croissant on every birthday and anniversary. Forever. -Quiches: so creamy, perfectly seasoned, not over-stuffed with filling so you cant appreciate the egg (and trust me, you do want to appreciate these eggs). Lovely pie crust as well. Even my 5 year old gobbles down the quiche and said the cookie part on the outside was his favorite part. Best pie crust ever. Fed the quiche to our 7 month old baby for his first eggs. He also approved and ate the whole slice. I was sad there was none left for me. -also tried the banana bread, scones, biscuits as part of a breakfast sandwich. All are good. Great atmosphere. Everyone is friendly. There are 2 high chairs for use. 2 very clean restrooms and the main restaurant area is very clean as well. Service is quick. You can walk in the door and have yourself eating within 5 min. If you have kids and/or want things warmed up, youll be eating in 10 min. We used to take the family out for breakfast once a week as a treat for the kids. Not we just come here. Its more delicious than any other place around, and we can feed 2 adults, 2 kids and a baby an abundance of tasty treats with 2 coffee drinks and 2 orange juices for less than $60. Thats pretty good in my opinion since we are big eaters. Suggestions: there is a wooden shelf thing on the wall near the register. It has a few nick nacks on display. I think it would make more sense to put your yummy bread loaves and Baguette for sale there. Just seems like under-utilized space. The breakfast sandwich on the biscuit was a little dry. It needed a signature sauce or something. The biscuit was perfect and the eggs were also cooked perfectly, but it just needed another element. Just something to think about. A pitcher of water with little cups near the beverage menu might be useful when you are busy and some people just want a little water they can serve themselves. If you had some wipes on the shelves there the dirty dishes go, I would wipe down my table after I clear my dishes. All these are very minor things though. Keep up the great work!

I ordered a cake on February 22 and had it schedule to pick up March 1st. I go in to pick up the cake at the schedule day and time, and some tall man with glasses asks if I ordered the cake the day before. I tell him when I ordered it the previous month and he tells me that there is no cake and that he can offer me another flavor. I ordered this cake for a birthday, and this threw all plans on off. He just said sorry and that he couldn t have a cake made that day. I has to ask what he could do to remedy the situation because he wasn t offering any, he then asked if I could pick up the cake the next day and asks if I wanted a pastry. He acted like he didn t really care or show any sympathy and didn t even seem like he was apologetic for the situation. I will never order a cake here again, especially with how rude the staff was with me regarding their mistake.

While the food that I actually want is good, it is seemingly random whether or not they have it. The items that are permanently on the menu leave a lot to be desired. It makes me suspicious that this is a type of business plan with the purpose of getting you to walk in to see if they have the item you want, in hopes that you will purchase something else. When a customer walks in wanting something, and they walk out without it, that is a dissatisfied customer. I recommend expanding the permanent menu to include cream puffs or publishing an online schedule, because at the moment I just don t think it s worth it to drive here and walk out without cream puffs.

How can two grown men not be able to keep track of inventory and not honor a paid in-advance online order? Terrible inventory tracking for holiday preorders. Why weren t orders labeled? Instead handing out preordered pies willy nilly and offering a meager sorry for not having a customer s scheduled preorder. Driving 30 min to the shop only to have this experience is extremely disappointing and stressful before hosting Thanksgiving. Please also be mindful of the recent 5-star reviews. Employees are leaving positive reviews to skew the rating average, which is in poor taste and terrible business ethic.

It was a big disappointment for us on Thanksgiving day. We ordered two pies and paid for a week in advance. But on the Thanksgiving day, when we came to pick up the pies, they told us that no pie left and all they could say was sorry and made no effort to make things right. They told us to come back in the weekend when they would have more pies. Who need pies on the next weekend when we ordered and paid for them a week in advance for Thanksgiving day! We ended up having to search for pies some where else on Thanksgiving day. Such a bad customer service and bad business all around !!!!

Brioche, pies and quiche are wonderful. But the croissants oh my goodness! I am spoiled for the rest of my life because of their croissants light and fluffy and BUTTERY and crispy and flakey and so BUTTERY nothing else compares! The employees are friendly and polite. Josiah is especially helpful, competent, and knowledgeable. You MUST try this cafe you won t be disappointed!

I went in for a baguette, croissants, and a slice of quiche. The croissants were nice, fluffy, and crunchy. The baguette was not done correctly, had no crunch, was too dense, and priced very high. The quiche was tiny for the price, and tasted more like a frittata in a pie crust rather than a quiche. I cant get over how absolutely tiny it was for $6/slice. The location was clean and the staff were pleasant.

If I want a baguette I go here. I like to cook, often italian, on the weekends. Sometimes theyre out of them due to the demand, so I go early. If I cant get a baguette that day, I change my dinner plans rather than going someplace else for a baguette. But Ive learned the baguettes freeze nicely, wrapped foil. No longer will run out of Tulla baguettes :)

This place has so much potential but their stock is awful. They never have enough to meet demand and they advise to call ahead to order a baguette. This is a French bakery. A baguette is the most basic item to have. Why should you have to call ahead to order one! That said, their pastries are delicious but not aesthetically pleasing, namely the almond and pistachio croissants. They look as if they are squashed and as if a kid spurted paint all over them in kindergarten art class. Presentation of these could be improved but like l said, taste great. Most of the staff are courteous and friendly but I feel the owner could be a bit more welcoming to customers. I hope this place improves. The last 3 visits have been disappointing due to nothing available. It will be a while until I return.

We wanted a loaf of Sourdough bread from a real bakery. Tulla met our expectations. The loaf complemented butter, dipped well in tomato soup and went well with our steak dinner. Excellent! We are hoping to pickup from the lunch menu in 2021. Returned in November 2021 for lunch. Wife enjoyed the quiche and I had a delicious ham sandwich on croissant. We ordered a piece of carrot cake to go. It was a good sized piece and delicious too. I recommend Tulla!

We lightly warmed them before the shower began and they were simply amazing and still as fresh as if we picked them up the same day. This is my new favorite place!!!!

This is based off a pastry and coffee, I ll be back to try some of the other items. Tulla is pretty easy to get to, right at the corner of Teel and El Dorado. It s located in between an orthodontist and barber. Plenty of seating inside and outside. I decided to come here because of the almond and chocolate croissant. Boy was it worth it! It s not something I ve had before and both almond croissants and pain au chocolat are favorites. It wasn t warm, but that s actually how I prefer the croissants with sweet fillings. Less mess in my opinion. There was a good layer of chocolate and almond. These croissants warrant the name - they are buttery, flakey, crispy exterior, soft but not chewy interior. Exactly as a croissant should be. I also got a cappuccino. Nothing fancy but a good espresso flavor, really a perfect compliment to the pastry. The folks working behind the counter were all very pleasant and helpful as well.

This is a French Bakery that is a gem to say the least. They do breads, pastries, sandwiches (weekends only), and coffee. Everything is over the top decadence, but I go for the croissant, and french baguette these are the stars of the show. They make 3 types if croissant, plain, almond, and chocolate, and the baguette are just as good as you would find in a patisserie in Paris. Give Tulla a try you be glad you did!

I ordered a cake for Fathers Day and it was awful, very little frosting and what was there was not good, the cake was exceptionally dry. I contacted Tulla to let them know and received no response. We also picked up sandwiches at a different time and they were very basic and you can get something better at many other places. Thoroughly disappointed in business.
