I wouldn t say it was the best burrito ever but it was definitely tasty. And HUGEEEEEE i literally was able to eat it over the course of two days! That may have been my favorite part. Even the salad was huge and fulfilling. I would not recommend any of their fountain drinks though. For some reason they all had a fun taste. But don t let that take away from the food.

Id love to give Twisted Trompo a glowing review, but in honesty, I cant do so.The foods simply not good. I had heard good things about this little taco place in downtown Dallas. Disappointingly, it did not live up to its hype. We went there for lunch while we were doing research in the main library, the Erik Jonsson library. It was a short walk from there to Twisted Trompo. There was a long line from the ordering counter to the door. Twisted Trompo seems to draw a good mix of office workers and other downtown workers, no doubt because its conveniently located for those workers and its prices are reasonable. We ordered the three-taco plate (photo below), a good value at $9.99. The people staffing the ordering station were friendly and helpful. You receive a number for your order and take it to your table and they bring the food out when its ready. Because the place was crowded, table space was at a premium. Its not a large establishment. It was also annoyingly noisy with people jammed together and talking at top volume. And when the food finally came they were processing lots of take-out orders in addition to the eat-in ones, and it was slow it was a huge disappointment. Bland. Greasy. Without any salt at all. Only some of the little containers of salsa that came with each order provided any flavor. They prepare the meat for the tacos with a rotisserie system (photo below), and for that reason, youd expect it to taste savory, fresh, well-seasoned. But not so, sadly. Dallas has a plethora of wonderful taquerias, Mexican restaurants, and Tex-Mex ones. If you want good Mexican food in Dallas, look elsewhere than Twisted Trompo.

Ordered the twisted fries online. I watched as one of the workers bought my order to some area behind their bar. Meanwhile, the app they are using did not update until going on 10 mins later. When I ask the lady working the register about my food sitting there with no update. She lied and said the order had just came out. When I open the box, the fries were under cook, only few pieces of meat, no sauce and hardly any cheese. To make matters worse, the ink from paper they lined my box with was soaked into my fries and what little cheese was there was now red from this paper also. Worse experience ever. I do not recommend the fries.

As a born and raised Mexican, I m positively impressed by this place, I was hanging out in downtown Dallas, and on my way back to my car this place caught my eye They have a varied menu, but I have a weakness for tortas, so I ordered the Cubana , and it was so good in all aspects, size and flavor, and it comes with a abundant side of fries The red salsa has a really good kick, it s definitely hot Also, Nohemi took my order, she was so attentive and with a really nice attitude The place itself is pretty spacious and it has a nice atmosphere, same with the restroom, clean and functional I definitely need to come back to try the rest of the menu, but so far, the Cubana torta is a must!!!

I tried Twisted Trompo for the first time yesterday after seeing some good reviews and pictures for the place. Not being from Dallas, parking is hard to find, but all the hassle paid off! The food here was delicious and the staff were friendly and helpful. I got five street tacos with steak and they were absolutely delicious. In my opinion, this place is a must if you re in Dallas. I want to go back at least one more time before we leave the city.

An awesome Tex-Mex spot in the business district of downtown Dallas! I ran in here to get a quick bite and even though they were busy, they served me very quickly! I got the veggie quesadilla with a side of red sauce and it was excellent! I was expecting that red sauce to have a little kick to it. It did, and I was definitely not disappointed with that! I like my Tex-Mex how I like women and coffee: HOT! I d love to come by again the next time I m in town! Thanks again for the quick service and that delicious quesadilla!

I had to try this place because I kept riding by it, and I m so glad I did! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly, which immediately impressed me and set the tone for the rest of my visit. I decided to go with the tacos, rice, and beans, and let me tell you, they did not disappoint. The tacos were bursting with flavor, the rice was perfectly cooked, and the beans were so rich and satisfying. The combination was so delicious and scrumptious that I practically raked my plate clean! The quality of the food, along with the welcoming atmosphere, makes this place a standout. I am not sure what all the hype is about. The inside of the place was very nice and welcoming. It had a great vibe and smelled amazing. The employees were very nice and pleasant. I ordered a 5 taco plate. 1 steak, 2 chicken, and 2 barbacoa with no beans double rice. At first glance at my food it looked good and had a delicious presentation. However the chicken and steak were very dry. It slightly bites back (Lol).The rice was dry and lacked taste. It was not the worse tacos and rice I have had but it was far from the best. I will most likely not order from this place again.

I went here to stall for time while craving tacos.... I wound up getting a barbacoa burrito boat with a side of queso beans n rice, my daughter the barbacoa qusadilla and my mother got their tacos. We were all very pleased. They had the most flavorful meat I have ever come across in a restaurant. And the fresh avocado that came with it was perfect for me to mash up to feed my hungry twins along with their bottles. The staff was very friendly and enamored with my twins and one was so sweet to ask if she could hold one. Affordable delicious food. I wish there was one if Fort Worth. I cant wait to go again the next time Im in Dallas! Kid-friendliness: Its a small quiet atmosphere with kid friendly staffing. Diaper changing station as well

I got the 5 taco plate for $13 with the taco Tuesday special. I got 5 thinking only 3 for $10 wouldnt be filling, but it was for me. The steak and pastor were a bit dry for me but the chicken, rice, beans, salsas and marg were pretty tasty. Good price and portions too. Quick and friendly service and beautiful, open, colorful restaurant if you decide to dine in. I didnt dine in because of limited parking downtown and the unhoused population. You can get the marg to go too!

Tacos were pretty good! Especially liked the carnitas and my accomplice really really loved the barbacoa. However, the al pastor was a bit of a miss for us. If you get a taco plate, it comes with beans, rice, onions, and a pepper. I think the value is fair. They actually got one of our orders wrong and forgot sour cream, and they gladly gave us some when we asked. I also recommend getting the horchata. Very cinnamony if youre into that.

Here we came to buy Cuban cakes but in the photo they look very pretty but when they serve it to you nothing to see I bought 4 cakes and three did not have sausage and I asked that girl who is at the register and she answered that the truth is she I didnt know that and he couldnt tell me what and what the cakes carry. Placed an order online for pick up; I ordered the Cuban torts, I m aware that it s a FF chain and this ain t Miami but this was a bad spin to a torta. The meat was dry and Not at all fresh or seasoned correctly. The sandwich was soggy AF and messy. The veggies were hidden and bland. Not to add that the fries had a sour after taste I stop eating them out of fear that they would give me a stomach bug. Not wasting my money on this again.

On a night out in Dallas, we searched for unique places to eat. This place popped up and sounded good. Basically, I can say everything was incredible. The menu is actually quite open and flexible. It is a build your own taco set up where you choose your tortilla, choose your meat, and then add whatever extras you want. Multiple sauce options are available. Also available are street taco varieties, tortas, quesadillas, and burritos. After this visit, I would love to come back for their breakfast selections. As an added bonus, they have a full bar with bar seating. We stuck with build our own, and I cant help but order barbacoa whenever I see it. We sampled six different tacos, each done to our requests. We added the queso, and went for the loaded version (no description). Weather was nice, so we sat outside, which is a little rare in the heart of downtown. All I can say is: WOW! This is the best loaded queso I have ever had! I dont think I can even list all the ingredients. There was so much going on in this queso that its almost hard to see how they got the queso in there! It starts with base of barbacoa (not just boring ground meat), then guacamole, roasted corn, onion, peppers, tomato, what appears to possibly be minced potato (might be wrong), and even small pineapple chunks (not a guess, and yes this surprisingly works wonderfully)! As you can guess, there was no chance of anyhting left to take home. The tacos were all wonderful. Pastor can be a little dry, but thats in the traditional preperation standard. The staff was exceedingly friendly to the point that one of them apologized that he didnt get to the door soon enough to open it for me. Unecessary, but nice. I also paid close attention the the Manager on duty, perhaps GM who was inspecting sections of tables and booths. They were closely examined, booths straightened to be in exact alignment, and cleaned thoroughly. Impressive to me and comforting that there is pride and attention to detail. One unique note, there is a large, very tall wall over the drink machine that was full of a collection of beautiful candles. Considering how high they were, I assumed at first they had fake lighting, but they dont. Pretty cool touch. This is one of the most pleasant surprises Ive had in a while, especially since we just dug on Google Maps to find something. Hopefully this review will help you decide to try it.

Fantastic food, service, and atmosphere! We were downtown at a music event and needed some food afterwards. They had a variety of great food choices. We chose the Carnitas burrito boat and fajita and barbacoa street tacos...every thing was fresh and delicious, made to order. We will return!

I have been going to this place over 4year to get treated how I got treated last night all over me not receiving my order I was sitting waiting for over 45 mins then the man also called the police on my and my gf which she have been going to this restaurant for years also I DIDNT GET NO FOOD OR MY MONEY BACK I PAID CASH AND HE TOLD ME TO DISPUTE IT like what I m ever disappointed and very up set and I m bout to talk the far with my lawyer very bad customer service

We ordered the chicken street tacos, quesabirilla tacos, and churros. Everything tasted great and was ready quickly. Everyone was friendly and welcoming from the moment we walked in to when we left. Would recommend them any day. Only compliant was parking at this location, so we parked back at our hotel and it was a quick 12 min walk and the food was still fresh when we got back to the hotel, which was a plus!

The Quesabirria tacos were so good. The rice and beans were also delicious. Churros were fresh and hot. The cajeta inside was so tasty. My only issue was I wish the consomé was bigger. Everything was perfect and everyone was so friendly. Will definitely return when in Dallas.

Came here after a long flight just to eat and relax. The food was really good (chicken street tacos, quesabirria, elotes, chips & salsa and churros). I would recommend this place for sure. Me & bestie sat the bar. Our bartender was really nice & informative. Definitely will be back!

I was over in Dallas wanting to get lost with all dressed up and nowhere to go I was looking for a hamburger place then all the sudden when I was looking on my phone I stumbled upon twisted trompo and decide to give these guys. The atmosphere is nice it gets off like a fast food chain kind of vibe with a bit of Mexican Flair. I ordered the Americana burger with chips and salsa the Mexican chips and a salsa are good and the burger honestly could be a bit better but Im not complaining it worse. Its good to eat. Around I would definitely come here again.

I just got breakfast delivered. Everything was a sloppy mess. I got the breakfast burrito with Trompo, breakfast taco with steak, and a carnitas breakfast taco. First of all the burrito was cut in half so it was just sitting in a puddle of grease. Soggy and nasty. It came with some stale chips. Forgot the guacamole. The steak taco tasted like the meat was old, rancid taste. Carnitas had no flavor whatsoever and was just greasy.

I was a bit drunk so take this review with a grain of salt but this place is SO GOOD. They have a broad menu but everything my party got was quality and delicious. Service was kind even though we came in an hour before close. Standouts were the quesadilla and the steak chips which had sauces galore that really taste amazing especially when you re a bit drunk. They re open late, kind service, reasonably priced food & it s delicious at that.

The best tacos I have had in a long time. The salsa is on point: Spicy but delicious (Green). I did not try the red sauce since I asked the waiter which one was the hottest, and I was informed that the red one makes you a living flame. Twisted Trompo has all kinds of meat. I tried carnitas, barbacoa, pastor and asada. All were amazing but my favorite is asada. I would highly recommend this place for two reasons: It is an affordable option in Downtown Dallas and their food is delicious.

me and my boyfriend came from houston to visit dallas and we found this place quick . the food was amazing the tacos are authentic!! i m born and raised in california and it s hard to find a place here in texas with good authentic mexican food not tex mex !! super friendly staff! the trompo meat was amazing and juicy with the pineapple , i agree with their price you get what you pay for !! theyre not stingy with the salsas nor the beans and rice . lastly they actually played mexican music which i loved!! place 100/10

Greasiest, nastiest food I have ever eaten. Rice was straight up translucent. It was like everything had been soaked in oil. You could even draw endless little oil trails on your plate with a single grain of rice. Disgusting. Says a lot about Dallas that a place like this is perpetually packed.

First time visiting Dallas and Texas as a whole. We were craving tacos and this place did not disappoint! All the meats were so flavorful and filling, loved how authentic the frijoles were, reminds me how my mom makes them. The vibe inside is cool they have music playing that you just want to dance to my kids loved it and all the employees were so helpful and kind definitely recommend when in downtown Dallas

The food was good. I paid for a 5 taco plate. The manager was horrible! I m not sure if he was having a bad day or what but he was very rude and aggressive. The server gave me a cup and never specified what it was for so I thought it came with my meal, meaning you can put whatever beverage you would like it. Unbeknownst to me it was a water cup. The manger approached the table and began yelling and being very aggressive towards our table stating that the cups we had were only for water. I proceeded to tell him that it was our first time there but he continued to be blatant and treat us as if we had stole something. He wasn t reasonable at all and didn t care to hear our side of the situation. We felt attacked and targeted cause were young and he thought he could handle us any way. Naturally we felt the need to defend ourselves and matched the energy the manager put out. We paid just like any other customer and never deserved this treatment. We felt so unsafe and uncomfortable that we took our food to-go. I ll never recommend this establishment to anyone after being treated like this I am appalled!!!

Cute spot to get a quick bite in downtown. Went for early lunch which was smart. By the time we were getting our food, the line had built up out of the door. Food was hot and fresh. Quesadillas were amazing, I got the pollo de trompo. Really good! The tacos were great per friends all except the Quesabirria tacos my one friend got, seemed like they skimped out on the meat for these tacos and for 14.99, felt like they could have been more substantial but she said flavor was great. The churros were warm and yummy. The aguas were on point especially the horchata which I am picky about. The vibe was on and I feel it would be great later in the day as they have a bar and play great music. Should have took more pics but the food kept me occupied. Will be back though.

WOWWW the tacos here were so so good. stopped by for a late night meal, and it was so yum. the flavors were amazing, and the sauce was super light and delicious. the rice and beans sides were also so good. i got a horchata as well, and it was sooo good. great place to go for lunch, dinner, or a late night snack. Worst chicken tacos that I ever had!! No season at all, taste like it came out of a box, it was hard like it been cooking for 3 days with only water for the seasoning ... Service was fast and friendly... food truck food is much better....VERY BLAND, I was so disappointed!!!! Dont waste your money, Im still here typing this on 10/11/23, only because I have drinks!!!! Stay away! I should of read the reviews first!!!!
