Its a loving place to hike, but the trails need to be better marked. There are small trails that lead into the wildflowers and I just dont feel right tramping all over the flowers/plants. Other than that its a lovely place to go hike!!

I love this natural area for trail walking. There are several clear trails to choose from, and I enjoy walking all of them. Playground: Yes, there is a very small playground equipment. Toilets: Port-a-potty Dog-friendliness: Yes, this nature area is very dog friendly. There is a dog water fountain. Picnic area: Yes, the picnic area is different. There are big rocks that you can sit and eat, and I believe there is a table by the playground

Its a beautiful area to go for a hike. There are plenty of trails to choose from. When you get deeper into some of the trails, they do become a little overgrown. You shouldnt let that deter you from enjoying this beautiful area.

It is great to have this in such a big city. I have hiked here before but today was a weird one. The trails were very muddy which I have encountered here in the past. There is no signage and what few trail markers remain are not helpful. Several trails have been blocked or rerouted but there is no way to know where to go. Found a homeless camp. Ran into a guy howling in a tree and shouting things in Spanish. Porta potty was occupied for or locked from within for more than 15 min. Playground: Small playground with basic amenities near road parking Toilets: None. There was a Porta potty but it was locked from within for a long time so we gave up.

Hiking here is great. However, its not a very safe area. There are homeless people scattered around so be aware and carry some form of protection. I wouldnt go alone if you are a woman. There is a high likelihood of your car window being busted as well if you leave anything in sight.

Tbh: Went there in winter. Looks like a garbage dump Edit1: the entrance area all around the playground is well taken care of. But further in a little down the largest trail in the middle (past those large rocks) is a lot of trash left and right on and off the trail. Maybe that was just because someone dumped his trash recently but it was kind of a letdown. The view on the skyline it beautiful though.

One of the better natural areas to walk or hike around here. I think everyone should always have a buddy no matter where they hike. Like most natural areas that are in town, I wouldnt hike near dark and as it is near downtown sometimes there are people trying to live in the woods but we leave them alone and they dont approach us. Lots of families were out this day getting pics done so that was nice to see as we were on our way out.

Went to the Natural Area along with a group of photographers. We were there to take photos of the flora and use it as a backdrop for portrait photos. It is definitely not an easy place to carry photo equipment but we made it work. We didnt get very far be did have a great time. Playground: Small playground near the entrance area. There arent many structures to play on mostly a slide and a swinger, but a stable area in the playground for kids to run around. Toilets: There are NO restrooms at this Natural Area.

There was a man washing his balls in the water fountain at the childrens playground. Thank goodness no children were present. After 5 minutes of washing his balls he stripped down to his undies and bathed the rest of his body. Do not use that water fountain!! For the homeless issue I had to take a star away. That being said..... This park is beautiful and so close to downtown. You can see sunset behind the trees and the fort worth skyline and it makes the perfect place for pictures. If you like hiking its awesome. There are a great variety of trees and wildflowers. There are little bridges and when it rains there are streams throughout the park. Only thing is be careful and take a friend or some form of self defense because sometimes there are a lot of homeless people here. I love to hike here for 45min then drive 5min down the road to the dog park and play fetch with my dogs and after all that the doggos are tired and happy. You know being from WA this place feels like home because theres lots of pine trees and a few homeless sleeping bags dotting the woods lol

However, it is still enjoyable and I like the fact there is still some undeveloped land.

This place was great for a brisk morning hike..... Until about 5 minutes in. Then you discover why its called Tandy HILLS. We hiked out to the fence line by the radio tower and back which was a great hike. Wear your boots, bring you hiking poles, and bring plenty of water!!!! The positives: Lots of beautiful prairie grasses its super colorful. Challenging trails Its quiet. We saw a few people going in but never crossed paths with anyone the whole time we were hiking. The not so greats: This is nothing against to the org or friends of Tandy hills, but there is alot of trash and evidence of people camping or living out there, especially in the less trafficked areas. Do the reserve a favor if you go out: take a bag and a grabber and help do some cleanup of you come across a wrapper or a discarded pack of swisher sweets. This is a beautiful little gem in the middle of fort worth that needs preserving.

This is Fort Worths hidden gem! I cant tell enough people about it! It s a real HIKE. The trails are challenging -- steep uphills and downhills with loose gravel, etc., so you feel like youre in a much more mountainous area than Fort Worth. Some portions even remind me of Appalachia! There are great views of downtown Fort Worth and the sunset, stream crossings, open prairies with tons of wildflowers in the spring, wooded areas with winding trails...this is my refuge when I need to get away and think and de-stress. You ll see lots of rabbits and lightning bugs in the summer. The best part is you may THINK youre getting lost back there, but youre never too far from View Street, Meadowbrook Drive, I-30, or Oakland Blvd. Just keep walking and youre bound to find a way out! :) Especially if youre going uphill, thats usually the right direction towards an exit. I love just getting lost back there and seeing what part of the neighborhood I wind up coming out on. :)

A lovely, quiet area, not far from downtown, with a playground; swings, merry go round, and climbing apparatus. Water fountain, with a ground level Doggie fountain, and port o potties. Ive seen many photographers taking Fall family photos lately, and its easy to see why! The walking trails are narrow and beaten only by hikers/nature walkers, and not groomed or manicured, so wear appropriate attire. I took these photos from a great vantage point just last night.
