Lots of nature trails. Unfortunately all are very long except one. Could use a few shorter loops for those of us not physically up to the longer loops.

Lake was great. Took my kids. For the most part, there was very little trash to distract. We came from the walking trails, so we only visited part of the shoreline. Shore had a very beachy feel with sand and shells. Kids asked to go back while we were still there.

This is a great beginner to intermediate hike, or great for a trail run. Some parts are muddy, so bring trail runners. Depending on skill level you may or may not want water with you. Both trail section are loops and both have shady and sunny areas. The trail to the right (north) is 2.5 with some up and downs. The one to the left (south) is 5 miles (if you do all of it) with fewer climbing sections and has muddier areas. Generally, I will mostly briskly hike both with some running and complete all 7.5 miles in 1:45. I get water in between loops so I dont have to carry it around with me. If you want a more scenic day, you can branch off and go down to the lake. Wildlife Ive seen include deer, turtles, cranes, cardinals, hawks, and various butterflies.

Eagle Mountain Park is the best place to get exercise in DFW in my experience. Over 7 miles of trails with varying terrain ranging from inclines to flat to semi steep declines, gravel, sand, dirt, grass, it s great. There are mile markers and maps , color coded trail waypoints and great views. Overlook the lake or walk meadows or walk the lake beach, just a great spot. Not too many folks most of the time. Highly recommend. The Jaguar lives in the Fort Worth Zoo. Just seeing if you re paying attention

Very nice park. The trails have very moderate verticality, pretty spaced out with long flat sections. Probably the most wide and groomed trails between this, Cedar Ridge Preserve, and the Fort Worth Nature Center. Only problem I have is that some of the trail forks arent well marked. Ended up wandering down quite a few service branches until I hit a gate. Most of the actual forks between trails are well marked with a You are here and full map, but every once in a while its easy to wander the wrong way.

Nice wide trails with plenty of room for everyone, even on a busy Saturday. Lake views, and enough ups and downs to feel good about yourself. There were a few side trails to nowhere, so if you find yourself in that situation, just turn around and head back for civilization. Restrooms were of the porta-potty variety but they looked to be serviced on a regular basis.

Wonderful park northwest of Fort Worth. This is hiking only. No dogs, no horses, no bikes. The trails are pretty well marked, and there are periodic maps around the trails, letting you know where you are and how far you are in relation to the main entrance. I would recommend hiking boots for those with weak ankles, as there are multiple points where youll have to climb up or down on the path. Not like climbing a mountain, but stepping up/down a short ways. I considered it to be a moderate hike in some places. Toilets: There were Porta Potties at the main entrance. There was toilet paper but they were out of hand sanitizer.

By far the best lake in the DFW area. Multiple places to store your boat or launch if you trailer your boat to lakes. Large lake with no fear of tubing with kids. Multiple restaurants on the lake that allow you to pull your boat up, tie your the dock and go in and eat. Holidays are never dangerous. Family friendly vibes and adult only coves as well. Highly recommend this lake.

I hiked down the main trail to the south overlook trail and then connected with the shoreline trail. I saw deer on both the main trail and shoreline trail and also a couple of armadillo on the shoreline trail. Interestingly there are crepe myrtles and some pecan trees also on the shoreline trail. The smell of cedar was present throughout the hike which I found refreshing. I reconnected to the main trail at the end of shoreline to get back to the parking lot. It was a beautiful day right after a cool front came through so although it was in the low 90s the lack of humidity made this awesome!

It is a nice park with lots of trails. I wish there was better signage of the trails as you are on them. Unless you carry your phone and a map on your phone, there is no way of telling if you are on the purple or the yellow trail, for instance, or where you should turn, etc Also I met at the park with a friend and she brought her dog only to find out that dogs are not allowed in the park.... so she had to leave him behind.
