Todd at the Fort Worth Bryant Irving location was phenomenal! Quick, kind, funny and accurate. He had us laughing and was always moving and willing to help someone. The food was good but honestly I would go back for him alone. He made sure we were well taken care of, and worked hard to help a new hire as well. We love you Todd!

So I just had to go to on the border and I had to do a little small weight and I felt like she was being very rude and a taboo racist because she did have a big party in front of her and it was just me and by myself, so why do you have me sitting there waiting that you ve run back-and-forth back-and-forth to your manager asking questions when you can just sit me down so I am complaining about the customer service on her behalf with some bigger Hispanic lady, but the bartender she s amazing She greeted me as soon as I sat down that s what I call customer service even though she was still working with other customer. She still had time to stop and say I ll be right with you or give me one moment lady host at the front door like she didn t see my black ass and I know she did that s why she did not give me service cause I was black.

Our experience at On the Border was fantastic! Troy, our server, went above and beyond to keep our large party happy, ensuring our drinks were always filled and providing exceptional service. Yesterday was the first time trying this restaurant and I ordered flautas that came with rice and refried beans. I ordered a pico and a guacamole and it came with chips and salsa. I ve been living in Texas for over a year and a half originally from Chicago and honestly, I think all of the food here is sub par and this one is no different. The chicken in the flautas tasted like nothing. The rice tasted like nothing. The beans tasted like you got them out of the can warm them up and the pico and the salsa smelled and tasted like maybe a plastic container I can t even understand how people accept this as tasty food , it boggles my mind . And this meal was very expensive and it tasted like hot garbage!

To start off the hostess s were not at the front my party plus another party were waiting for over 5mins (they were there before us). They tried sitting us on top of another family and we requested to be moved together table (we had a baby in our party) the hostess made a big deal and cried. Just because she sat us at the most awkward uncomfortable spot. The service was slow and inattentive. I had to find the waiter for napkins, for the ticket and had towels ask like 3 different people for a togo box.. to sum it all up this was not a good visit.

Granted it was Friday night.(After 5) The service was great. The price was reasonable(Considering we got lunch time portions) The food had much to be desired. 4 of us: Fajitas -not fully cut into strips -very bland. - over cooked - Ranchiladas- -bland Brisket Tacos- -overly shredded (couldnt taste the meat.) Chicken flatuas -meat inside did not look like chicken -bland Beans from all dishes with the Cotija /Queso Blanco cheese were edible. Rice looked very dry The best part of the whole meal was the flour tortillas. Sweet tea w/lemon not sweet and tasted old. Mago tea was ok Dr pepper was a little flat Water cant really mess that up. The lighting where we were seated was very poor. 0/4 would go back. *Since no one was happy with there food we hardly ate anything. So shortly after we had a junk food night dinner

We used to come here often. My husband loves the chips and salsa. Lately, however, they have really gone downhill. Not only is The music LOUD, but it s a weird mix of vh1 s greatest hits. They also used to have soft lighting in the lamps on the tables, now its a harsh almost interrogation style light in your eyes. Last time we came I waited over fifteen minutes for a strawberry lemonade. We decided to give it one more try, sadly, I think we will be giving going here a break for a while.

Second time I ve been to this location and it s been awful. Waited 15 minutes watching multiple people pass by my table just looking at me and then finally I asked the girl who sat me again and I asked if someone was going to greet me and she said yeah well they re back there cleaning right now so give them a few more minutes There is about 3 tables in the whole building so it s not that hard!!! I m in the service industry myself and this is not how you get people to come back. I thought I d try it again but never again am I coming back here.

Its my first visit in many years. I was seated quickly by a very kind host. I had a wonderful lunch with my elderly Mom. The thin and crispy chips with the slightly spicy salsa were precisely what I was hoping for. My Mom absolutely enjoyed her Taco Salad. I had the Monterey Chicken Ranch Fajitas. The chicken was moist and cooked to perfection. On The Border has become my go-to restraunt for my Texmex flavor cravings.

A good place for an afternoon without knowing what to eat. Its delicious, for adults and children, the margarita drink with watermelon is delicious. It takes about 10-15 minutes to wait but it was worth it. It s been years since I ve been to an On the Border but my family and I decided to come for a late Father s Day meal. It was Monday at 4pm and when we walked in we stood at the host desk for almost 10 minutes with no one there to seat us despite multiple employees walking by. The restaurant was 90% empty so I m not sure what the wait was for but that was just the beginning. Our waitress was nice enough but she never came to check on us, we asked for items that came back wrong ( asked for corn and got flour ) or items were completely missing ( no bbq sauce with the tacos ). The wait time for food to be brought out was ridiculous, we also had to ask for our check after sitting around forever. The food wasn t good either. My rice was crunchy and my husband and son s beans tasted old. I don t know what happened to On the Border since we were last here years ago but we won t be back again. Save your money and go to somewhere that cares about customer service or at least has better quality food.

This location is horrible and the customer service is trash. Unfortunately, our food was extremely cold, made incorrectly, the manager was new and unable to advise his staff. Additionally, the food was returned to fix the incorrect order and cold food. Guess what? The food was never fixed but the manager stated it would be. Beware before going to this location because you re going to leave an upset customer! Parking: I generally Park just to the side, Lowes far end, but close to OTB. Wheelchair accessibility: There are ramps and I have seen people in chairs and scooter at this location.

I m in the process of moving to Fort Worth, I have been to this OTB 3x! the first time I visited, Shannon was the bartender on duty, friendly, efficient and fun, 2nd time I drove straight in from Gulf Shores, Alabama just to get a to go order, the last time I visited Shannon was there again, everyone at the bar was on a first name basis, Shannon introduced me to a couple of ladies at the bar, they both gave me advice on jobs and where to live as a new FW resident. This will be my go to place for Cinco de Mayo, great atmosphere and Shannon is 5 star!! By the way the queso and quesadillas are delicious and the Boderitas hit the spot!!

Had a horrible experience hear. Havent been to one the board in a few years, wife and I decided to go to night. The hostes informed us it would be a 30 min wait account of them only having two waiters, and one bartender. I said that will be fine. There werent that many people during the time we went (Sat at around 645pm) and the service was fairly prompt. The server was also nice/friendly. The only issue was the food itself; it wasnt what it use to be and the quality unfortunately declined since my last visit a few years ago. The food was warm at best, and when we told her about it she pretty much said that it was straight from the kitchen and they didnt have heating lamps or so, pretty much telling us that its as hot as it will be. She was nice/friendly about it, but the food still didnt seem straight from the kitchen. This is the place to go if you want to watch a game and enjoy some chips/salsa and drinks, but I wouldnt recommend dinner here.

The food is pretty good. The service is ok. Everytime I order take out they NEVER put the caso in the bag. I wont even order a delivery because I know the dip will be missing. I get the taco kit a lot and it comes with a bowl of caso and I order an extra. Neither one of them have ever made it in the bag. I tip too. They always say oh if you dont wanna tip a driver go pick it up, so I do AND tip and my order is still always wrong. The sit down experience is usually a lot better. I had the absolute worst dining experience in my life here. Our waiter got several things wrong. Ordered a slushee that we never got. Also a kids sundae that he rang up as a regular sundae also that we never received but we re charged for. When I asked him to remove the items he said only the manager could do that but that she couldn t because the cooks called in sick and she was in the kitchen cooking. We sat waiting for her for 47 minutes!!!!! She comes out and she finally removes these items from our bill but looked extremely annoyed to have to do it. No apology or anything. Our servers name was Kels Im not sure if I spelled that right! She provided us the worst experience weve ever had at an on the border. I could say a ton but Ill give the biggest grievance I had. My wife and I were having drinks with our lunch as we finished our first round and she brought the next, my wife asked her to take the first glass that was empty. She explained she has to leave them on the table to keep track of how much we have drank. So on top of being treated like children who have to be monitored our table became cluttered very quickly. There was an additional issue with our queso she was slow to bring ours out and another server brought us a bowl. She showed up after with another bowl and I said you can just leave it we will eat it. She very loudly said not unless your gonna pay for it which I had intended to do! I said thats not an issue leave the queso. She was by far the rudest server Ive ever had and I will not return to this location ever!

We attempted to place an order online... Website issue! Called and got disconnected. We called again and placed an order and attempted to pay by credit card. We were told we could not. Note: We explained that this was a gift to sick family members to be picked up. Someone else came on the phone and said they would take a credit card. During the process, we were put on hold. Now, a third person whosaids she was the manager came on and emphatically said they could not take a card over the phone. We then made arrangements for payment upon pick up. Unbelievably, we were told the order was already ready! So that means the order was filled prior to any approved payment!!! Outrageous in these times, one can not make a payment over the phone. I hope the food was decent.. There was no apology for the inconvenience and confusion!

Picked up a to go go order today and I was missing a taco called back to have it fixed talk to William who left me on hold for 25 minutes for the mgr to pick up so I called back to speak to the manager Dennis who was so rude as if I did something wrong had the audacity to call me anxious of course I m anxious you get on the phone with a whole attitude the tell me I have to come back up there today or else so no I will never go back there again Dennis needs to be trained on Customer service he should not be the mgr William should. Has to be the worst service we have ever had. Our server was clueless and diapered as soon as the food was dropped. We waited 30 mins after finishing our meal waiting for her to bring the check. Eventually had to ask another server to get her for us so we we could pay and leave. My food was less than desirable but she didnt know that because she never came back to refill our drinks or ask if everything came out ok. We had been going to this on the border for more than 20 years the food is still good, however the service has gotten so bad. As we got seated we waited like 10 minutes no one came right away to ask for our drinks . We see like 3 servers talking , one is on her phone talking while out for customers to see. I wouldve recommended the Border Bowl Shrimp but I didnt receive it with my other to-go order. Would need to take Uber/Lyft just to go back there and pick it up. Was so excited to try it for the first time, but was so disappointed when I realized it wasnt included in the bag -- I thought there was no need to check before leaving the restaurant because it didnt look busy at all and we didnt order plenty as to cause a confusion or whatever. Well, that seems to be the outcome wherever I go nowadays. LESSON: check if youve got all your order and if they got it right before leaving. (Maybe I would have if we werent in a bit of a hurry that day because of a phone call that we received.) But they were nice especially the manager that I talked to on the phone. Just saying: (Burger King --- there was no way to tell if they put cheese on my cheeseburger until I got home; paid extra but didnt get what I wanted. Nobody ever answers their phone either)

If you dont mind fast food quality food in a restaurant-style environment, this is your place. I, however, dont plan to eat here ever again. Ive had exceptional authentic Mexican food at restaurants and decent food Ive made myself at home. But I dont recall ever eating Mexican food that left my stomach bothered into the following day after having eaten there for dinner with my brother. The food wasnt awful tasting but it wasnt full of flavor either. Otherwise, I would at least recommend the food for flavor. Furthermore, its pretty clear they dont put much effort into hiring servers that understand customer service. Because I never once got the impression by any of the staff that they were remotely interested in retaining me as a returning customer. Ive been to Uncle Julios and, while I wasnt a fan of food, their service definitely left me feeling they wanted me to return. Even that part of the experience at On The Border wouldve raised the level some. But it was not present in my experience at all.

We stopped here on the (long) way home from a medical appointment on a broiling hot Monday, for a late lunch (3pm). Restaurant was nearly empty. Our server was a young woman who was entirely too chatty and unable to read clues from her customers - were tired, were hot, were hungry, we dont want to talk with you about the medical appointment or what we did this past weekend. And we certainly dont want to hear from you on how bad the customers are at this place - they dont tip enough, theyre rude, they make you cry, you barely made enough to pay part of your electric bill, and on and on. The girl did just not know when to shut up. She did fine with our order and making the guacamole live. Not long after bringing our entrees out, she said shed be bringing the bill since she would be off soon - and quickly departed, missing out on a chance for more tips, as we were thinking about dessert or another drink. When she brought the itemized tab, we gave her a credit card right away, since she seemed to be in such a hurry. She brought back the receipt for signature - but NOT the itemization, as most restaurants do. When I asked for it, she wanted to know what was wrong. Nothing, I said, I just want to have the itemization. I threw it away. Well, cant you print out another? She huffed away and returned with a new printout, which she dropped on the table before stalking away. Arguing with customers is *NOT* the way to get a good tip. Trying to guilt your customers into giving you a good tip with stories of bad customers is not the way to do it either. And talking too much about your personal problems is also not helpful. Food was OK - chips were stale (normally I would take leftovers home, not this time), guacamole live and my husbands enchiladas were good, border chicken was so-so (vegetables were burnt). Kitchen was slow for the place being mostly empty. Manager just walked around with hands in his pockets, when plenty of tables (and menus - icky) needed cleaning - no point complaining to him! Music was too loud. Take-home containers are round and made of a thin, weak plastic. And by the way, we left an 18% tip anyway - although our normal minimum is 20% for average service.

I ate here a few days ago and my server was clearly on drugs. She took my order for queso, brought the queso out, then 10 mins later walked up to the table and said Wait.. Didn t you guys order queso? The queso was sitting right on the table in front of her where she left it. She also rambled on and on about things that didn t make any sense. This is extremely triggering for someone who grew up with addicts. I hope she gets the help that she needs.

They have specific things that I like but it is time for a good scrub of the place. Things are a little sticky and just not as clean as it should be. Fingerprints on the windows so Im sure the handles arent wiped. Crumbs on the floor and I never use their toilet. They just have a few really good things otherwise I would skip it.
