Disappointing Experience Due to Poor Customer Service I recently had an incredibly frustrating experience at Hoya Kitchen. My husband and I arrived an hour before closing, only to be rudely turned away by the host, who claimed they were no longer accepting diners for the night. However, to our shock and disbelief, a party of three walked in literally 30 seconds before us and was seated without any issue he even took their order before sitting while we were waiting behind them. It was clear that the restaurant was still accepting customers, but for some reason, we were denied service. This kind of treatment is simply unacceptable. We had been looking forward to dining here, but this blatant inconsistency in customer service left a very sour taste in our mouths. A restaurant s success depends not only on its food but also on how it treats its customers. Unfortunately, this experience has ensured that we won t be returning anytime soon. I highly recommend considering other dining options if you re looking for a place that values fairness and customer satisfaction.

First off, adorable little restaurant! Its harder to find Korean places without having to go all the way to Dallas or Carrollton. The atmosphere is slightly musician-fan centered with some traditional values. The food came out SO fast and was SO good. And the house music was at the perfect volume to talk with your friends/partner!

She wasn t our waitress but she placed the check on our table without saying anything and picked it up in the same manner. Never again.

The Beef Bulgogi Bibimbap is fantastic, with tender beef and a great mix of veggies and rice... add some gochujang sauce and its amazing! If youre adventurous, spice it up with Sriracha and its on a whole nother level of deliciousness. The mandu is also delicious, with crispy, flavorful dumplings that make a great appetizer. This is a good place for a tasty and satisfying Korean meal. Highly recommended!

Not a place to go on a quick lunch break for work. It s currently 96° outside and the only seating available is outside, with one single oscillating fan that I wouldn t even keep in my bedroom. Desperate for a glass of ice water in the midst of this miserable summer heat? Too bad. I got - ONE - drink, no refills, no ice. Yea. No ice. Food was pretty good, got the spicy pork bibimbap. But the service was pretty terrible and everyone around me looked miserable.

I lived in Korea for a year when I was in the army and was treated two wonderful Korean food. It s always been hard to find Korean food here in Fort Worth, so today we decided to try Hoya. This was a mistake. The service was OK, but the waitress seemed afraid to talk to us. Very shy. But, the problem is the food. The food was so bland and boring. My dol sot bibimbap was hardly warm, and the rice was not crunchy at all. Why? The hot stone bowl was barely warm. I could ve done better at home with a little experience cooking Korean food so, stay away from this place. You re probably better off driving to Carrollton or Plano for quality Korean food.

Hoya isnt much of a Korean restaurant. There are a few Korean dishes on the menu but a similar number of Japanese (or Japanese derived) and fusion dishes. There are also few other Korean menu items - only soju seemed available. I had expected to be served side dishes -banchan - of various Korean style vegetables, but again, they dont serve these. Kimchi, which seemed store bought, is available on request. The staff appear Korean and service is fine, but I dont recommend this restaurant. Its not bad, it just doesnt serve much Korean food. If youre in the area and need a quick lunch, its ok (but youll likely find it overpriced for lunch).

Hoya Korean Kitchen is right in the heart of downtown Fort Worth. Theres inexpensive street parking all around. Inside is a bit small, but this is remedied by an added semi-outdoor structure that adds another several tables. The layout of the restaurant is shallow but elongated. Inside the track lighting is nice, and the woodgrain on the tables along with the wooden accents on the windows is charming and relaxing. The food is great. Simple menu, with a standard selection of Korean staples. Their mandu (fried dumplings) were crispy and had tasty fillings, and their beef bulgogi was plentiful and cooked just right. Their house kimchi was sour and had a good crispiness to it, though I wish it were a bit spicier. I also wish tteok-bokki was on the menu. We happened to be there on a night they had premium soju from Jeju Island, and it was so good. I recommend: Beef bulgogi Kimchi fries to share Chicken mandu Enjoy!

Server was friendly despite the busyness and took our orders promptly. Food came without undue delay and was delicious. Tasted authentic and fresh both to me and to my Korean friend. Recommend the bibimbap! Only downside is the price was pretty high - Im sure a function of their prime downtown location. Dont think they planned on them being that busy but...would go back cause the food was great and they did their best keeping up with a demand. The dining room was very loud and didnt realize how loud it was until we left.

I love their korean fried chicken appetizer. I always order them when we go visit. The cucumber side has the best seasoning on it. Oh! And their beef bulgogi bibimbap and salmon bibimbap are cravings satisfied! Customer service is fast too and the waitress is very nice. Also, the parking garage is beside their restaurant, which is free on weekends. Very convenient. We love to walk around downtown FW after a nice treat. Parking: Parking garage beside the restaurant Free on weekends

Great Korean place in downtown FW (and it blows my mind there aren t more Korean places here )! Portions are a tad small if you re a tall male but absolutely delicious. I d recommend the bibimbap, nothing like a piping hot rice and meat dish and a Terra beer. Spicy pork isn t too spicy, it s actually flavorful spice not like the overwhelming heat you d get with spicy wings at some sports bar. Overall great restaurant to check out!

12/30/22 I ve visited this place tons of times since my last review. The food is always good and they have consistent quality. Today our waiter was so polite and sweet which made our visit there such a happy experience that I felt I should come back and comment again on how much I like this restaurant. This time I got jasmine tea and beef Soontofu . As usual, I ordered kimichi fries and fried chicken to go. last year: This was pretty good! Ramen, soju and bibimap

The food was not bad but the selection was sparce. Not as traditional as I would like. The place is rather small and service is not as attentive as I would like (never got a refill on my drink and was only asked when we were ready to leave). I enjoyed the food - I had the spicy pork lunch box. If you love traditional Korean food with lots of extras, this is not a place for you. For a quick filling lunch though, it will do.

Tried to order over the phone and they answered and then just left the phone on the side for 10 minutes, so I couldnt call them back. Thats not professional, nor polite. Gonna be ordering elsewhere.

Even though the service can be better it is not bad for the amount of people they have. It is not usually packed and wether you get your food right away or you have to wait a while it is most of the time hot and delicious. This is a regular spot for me and a place I will always come back to.

We loved this place!! Highly recommend!!! 1st time visit was an extreme success. Food - the beef short rib was absolutely heavenly. Also the chicken teriyaki was amazing! We definitely intend to become regulars here. The green tea was delicious and the portion size was filling. When you finish eating you wont be stuffed and you wont be hungry; youll be a satisfied soothing full. The portion size could be a bit bigger, but thats anything in life. Service - our waitress was Yuki, and she was an absolute delight. She was attentive, has recommendations for us, and suggested some amazing items based on what we told her we liked to eat. She checked in on us at a good interval (not too often and not too sparsely). Also, there staff worked as a team. If she didnt stop by the table, another team member did (a male in our case whose name I didnt receive). I am very thankful for her service. Pricing - you can see my receipt but it was moderate. Not the cheapest place nor the most expensive, but I felt the prices matched the quality of the food so totally worth it. Bottom line - if you enjoy Korean BBQ or looking to try it, Id highly recommend this location. You wont be disappointed. The only thing I would be concerned about is maybe the portion size. However, I highly believe you will walk out the door feeling satisfied and comfortably full. Parking: They have parking garaged in the local area and street metered parking. Wheelchair accessibility: This place is wheelchair accessible through the front door.

Amazing food but unfortunately there was a rat in the main area and it ran towards the kitchen. I had informed staff of the issue and there was no sense of urgency, almost as if it was normal so I won t be comfortable eating here again

One of my favorite places to eat... Unfortunately the hours are incorrect even on their door. I arrived with a new friend to try their food at 8:30pm and was told that they were closed. I get not wanting ppl to be in the restaurant after close... but closing 30 minutes early is very disappointing. It wouldnt have even taken that long and I even wouldve taken my food to go if I needed to.

Stopped in here for some late night eats after a night of going out. Restaurant was featuring a new late night menu with plenty of fried apps to help fill you up after a night of drinking. BeBe our waitress was quick, informative, and very cheerful while serving us. The Korean fried chicken was great the sauce to dip it in was just as described by our waitress a little spicy but mostly sweet. The SoJuu mojito cocktail was also a great drink to sip on.

Seriously, what is it with this place? It has happened more than a dozen times. Either myself or my coworkers would call to make a phone order, they would pick up the phone and not even say anything. Just leave it off the hook basically. And just now I called to make a lunch order, they did the same thing. But this time, the worker put the phone in her pocket. And walks around and talking to people like nothing. And if you call back, the phone is busy. If Hoya doesnt want any business through phone orders, then just cancel your telephone line!

The food was delicious and per usual I forgot to take pictures of the food before I started eating. But if you follow me youre used to it by now. Service was ok. We ordered the shrimp sticks, Korean fried chicken, bulgogi beef, salmon box, and the short ribs plate. The shrimp was definitely the best dish. The short rib plate was mostly a plate of bones so that was disappointing but the Korean fried chicken was the most disappointing of all. There was little to no flavor and it was boneless chicken. Also, their menu is misleading. It says you will receive one size for one price but when they bring it out its a different size. The server pulls out a menu from her apron and says no that menu is wrong, but every menu on the table was the same. Make sure to ask if its correct and what youre getting before ordering.
