My local Dallas friend wanted me to check out Ft. Worth and Im glad I did. Very cool, laid back vibe with lots of restaurants and bars. We came to Piola to celebrate her birthday and had terrific service from Edward. She had branzino and I had the lasagna. We also ordered insalata misto and meatballs. Food was good, not great. The flavor of the lasagna was good, but I would have preferred the noodles to be more firm and chewy. Besides that it was great experience.

Have loved this place dating back to Forest Park days. Have not been in a while. Tonight was not good. Special veal chop was well done - almost seemed microwaved to reheat Uneatable. Others at table meals were not good. Salmon not good. So sad. Love local but tonight s food was an excuse to not return for while. Service was good and atmosphere nice. Trying to be honest and fair. Fix it soon !

Dinner here with husband. Lovely small house with excellent service. I had the smoked chicken fettuccine which was delicious, loaded with mushrooms and chicken. Could have been more generous with the goat cheese. Husband had grandmas lasagne. He did it was good but not remarkable. Mini cannolis were ok; I prefer traditional filling with sweetened ricotta and choc chips or fruit. Edward, our server, was excellent! He had great suggestions, was attentive without hovering. Recommend reservation for a Saturday evening.

I wanted to like this place. I Picked Piola for a dinner night and I was embarrassed by the time we left. It is built in a neat old house, on the corner of a residential street, which was kind of cool. The atmosphere was nice but unfortunately the food did not deliver. Tried both specials and neither one was good. I could have easily cooked something better at home. Especially the chilean seabass, which sounded great when described by the waiter but was dry and very basic and a small portion. Not very creative with the flavors. The fish itself was overcooked and tasted like a grocery store frozen aisle item. Furthermore the price for the specials was absurd for what they were serving. The prices of the other items on the menu were all very reasonable (mostly between the $15-20 range), and the specials were not written down anywhere but I wrongly assumed they would be in a similar range, even if at the higher end. I got the bill and they were 37 dollars a plate!! I was disappointed with the meal but even more so when I saw the bill. We also had 2 glasses of wine, which couldnt have possibly been a full pour. The waiter was attentive, but cold and matter-of-fact The restaurant was nowhere close to full but he seemed to want to rush us out. With the word gardens in the name, I expected more than a covered patio. The only real garden feel was being able to see the neighbor houses nicely manicured lawn. If the food here impressed me at all, Id probably come back.

IF the Predators had gotten farther in this years Stanley Cup playoffs than the Stars, I would have owed a certain lady from Nashville her favorite Veal Piccata in all of the Metroplex. That did not happen of course. Nashville lost in Round 1 and the Stars have moved on the Round 2 against Colorado, but....... Piola is simply that good.

Our family went to Piola on Saturday for my 60th birthday celebration. We have never been there and my college age daughter and her boyfriend made the reservation. I cannot review the food, only the service. My husband, son and I arrived first and were seated. When my daughter and her boyfriend arrived, they had a small box of cupcakes for my birthday to surprise me. Now I know that many restaurants do not allow that, but they are in college and didn t think to check. I did not know they were bringing them. The owner was very rude to them and they put them in the car. I truly understand if that is your policy, asking them to do that and they did what the owner asked. What happened next was ridiculous. They were seated and we were there about 20 minutes and no one took our drink order. The owner then came over to me and told me how disrespectful they were and was pointing in my daughters boyfriends face, yelling and telling him to be respectful. This young man is a true gentleman and I could see the exchange before he took the cupcakes to the car and there was no disrespect at all - they were just unaware of the policy. Needless to say we got up and left and then he came out of the restaurant, telling me how sorry he was but that he cannot tolerate disrespect. The exchange continued for a minute or so, but I had no interest in talking to him and walked away. Well done to the owner of Piola for making 2 college kids feel terrible on my birthday. Shame on him! I am certain that this was not an isolated incident as he was completely obnoxious. The food may have been great but the service was beyond poor!

We had a great experience here for a date night dinner. All of our food was good, but the bruschetta was the most memorably better than average. I see other posts of people getting 4 pieces of ravioli or uncooked bacon, but I can only report my own experience, which was very good. *If any Piola manager or owner happens to read this, I suggest you move the microwave out of view from the dining area. Its a necessity, I know, but it just kind of lessens the authentic Italian vibe.

Nice little Italian restaurant a short way away from Camp Bowie. The menu is small but lots of classics available and the quality of food was fairly good. Wait staff were solid. The interior is cozy and visually nice but a large detriment to it is the proximity of everyone being relatively close combined with the size of the room resulting in loud background noise that doesnt lend well to a quiet experience as you need to raise your voice to hear someone speaking across the table. Overall a good place. Wheelchair accessibility: A nice ramp exists for wheelchairs to easily reach the front door. Place is all on one floor.

Husband enjoyed his beef pasta I tried pesto chicken pasta NOT a fan. Thin, small 1/2 garlic bread was 8$ most dinners around 20$. Huge wine selection (not a wine fan so cant tell you if its a good collection) I was impressed that they confirmed my iodine allergy. Making sure nothing used would make me sick. Husband has put this on our reservation and this is the first time someone asked about it. Parking was street only and an hour only. The handicap ramp looked steep.

NOTE: Piola s does not allow you to bring a birthday cake inside their restaurant. We chose Piola for my birthday celebration. We brought a nice little cake that we had hoped to eat after dinner there. As soon as we arrived, they told us cakes aren t allowed so we took it to the car and went back inside and ate. After, we took our cake to Starbucks on Hulen Street where they welcomed us and even brought out a big knife to cut it with. We had a great time there. Thank you, Starbucks!

If you want mediocre food at high prices this is the place for you. My daughters veal dish had a long black hair in it and the server asked what she wanted to do so she opted to have the dish replaced. By the time it came back our entire party had finished their meals. It was just sat in front of her without a word of apology for the revolting experience. I assumed that the owner, or someone... would drop by with an apology and attempt to make amends. When the check came I expected at least a comp off the bill for the distasteful dish. There were 13 in our party who will be sharing these sentiments on other SM platforms. Michael, the GM, has clearly failed to establish a bad dish protocol for any of the staff because he was blissfully unaware of our experience because when I asked his name for my review he didnt even ask why. So Michael.... heres why!

We are visiting from Pennsylvania. We found Piola on line. We arrived about 20 minutes before our reservation, however, we were promptly shown to our table. We ordered Grandmas Lasagne . I took the first bite and I knew that I was in heaven. It was the most perfect combination of flavors Ive ever experienced. I was amazed. For dessert I had tarimasu. Absolutely amazing. Absolutely amazing from the greeter at the door to that final bite of a tiramisu! The arancini with truffle sauce was to die for, chicken parm was perfect. I ventured to Piola for a fun girlfriend dinner after several recommendations. I was not disappointed. This charming restaurant is a gem. We dined indoors but outdoor seating is available (probably best enjoyed when it s not a Texas Solar Apocalypse). Reservations are highly encouraged. We enjoyed several menu options (see attached photos). The device was impeccable and our waitress (Keely) was attentive and provided excellent dining and wine suggestions. This place was alright, it was a cute establishment. They dont split checks, which they do not mention when seating or taking orders and only have listed in fine print at the bottom of their menu. This place is not cheap enough to just let one person pick up the check and pay them back. This would be a good date night spot, except that the only food that was good was the Arancini under the appetizers. The sauce that those came in was awesome. Everything else was -meh. We got 6 dishes, 2 appetizers, and 2 desserts, and the only thing that wasnt bland was the 1 appetizer. Overall, there are better Italian spots.

Superb, exemplar food and service from staff & the kitchen crew. There was never a moment upon entrance when our needs and questions (as first timers) were not addressed. A big shout out to John, Michael, Teresa, and waiting staff (sp?) for their extra attentive service and team work to keep our waters filled and drinks + good recommendations going. Some of the highlights were the season s specials sea sea, veal, any drink specialities, and desserts. We were able to celebrate my parents anniversary here. Some things to know: called to make reservation. Large parties have 1 check, but you can pay with multiple cards. We divided the check amongst ourselves via zelle. We were in 2 tables, so we couldnt chat it up with everyone. Parking in the lot across the street. Its a white corner building. Piolas has a full bar as well. No outside food or drink permitted so we didnt bring cake. There is no pizza here, FYI. You can split a plate, but unless you dont eat much, just get the full plate. Came here for father s day as another restaurant cancelled our reservation. It was delicious and our servers were friendly and great! Service was quick and we had a good time. I would recommend honestly everything we got as it had great flavors and portion sizes. The Lobster Ravioli was not enough food for my younger brother (17) so may need to order some side plates or something to share as well if you have big eaters. Atmosphere got 4 stars due to the pestery flies that kept coming to table when eating outside and being a bit hot (they had fans), otherwise everything else was great. Recommend for a night out with friends and family. Forgot to take pics but we got the following appetizers and all were scrumptious: Bruschetta, Giant Calamari, Garlic Cheese Bread & Mozzarella Stuffed Arancini. First off my husbands salad had glass in it, which he did bite into not knowing it was there and the waitress apologized but the manager came over and was Not apologetic and just asked if he wanted another salad and that was them trying to make it rite!! Had reservations for 815 and arrived 10 minutes early. I feel like we were forgotten about by the host and took a long time to get seated even though the restaurant had a significant amount of tables open. Once finally seated we were greeted by one of the best waiters I ve ever had the experience of dining with. I was very happy with his knowledge of the wines and menu. The portions at this restaurant were very small though. We had a bottle of wine, appetizer, entree, and desert. The food was delicious but I was disappointed in spending $140 to still be feeling hungry after dinner. Overall I don t feel like the value is worth coming back. I d rather go to Del Friscos Double Eagle or another fine dining restaurant instead.

A wonderful dinner! We had never been to this restaurant but found it through Open table when looking for restaurants with outdoor dining. Nice spacious patio in a quiet neighborhood. We visited this place on January 27th. I was excited about trying it due to the raving reviews about the food. We had a reservation right at opening for 3; when we arrived they didnt even acknowledge us until we spoke up. **Theres a dress code** that we did not know about as its not listed on thier website, but taped on the front of their entry door, so we came in work attire, the vibe was off, maybe because of that, Im not really sure though. For starters we had the Garlic cheese bread (this was our favorite) and giant calamari (this was flavorless). For entrees we had the Rigatoni Bolognese, Spicy Fettuccine and their Veal special with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The food was mediocre at best, the only decent item was the mashed potatoes that came with the veal. This rating is completely based on our first encounter and food; the 1 star that I did give it was because of our table service. Our waitress and bus boy were amazing and made up for our initial encounter. The refills and attention were frequent and made our time pleasant. Would not recommend!

The main dishes were barely edible. My wife and I are not picky whatsoever, my dish was bland and the bacon was not cooked. No sauce, bacon, and some parmasean cheese sprinkled on top. My wife s entree was bell peppers and penne pasta. Maybe 15 pasta total with liquid red sauce. Manager was nice, gave us a lasagna to go for our trouble. For $78 a person fixed price on Valentine s Day, I feel like I was robbed. Will never go to this restaurant ever again.

Had dinner last night, first time. We were celebrating my husband and sisters birthdays. When I made the reservation I told them we were celebrating birthdays. We brought in a small cake, they told us no outside food. We had to leave it at the front until we left. They should have mentioned that when I made the reservation. When they asked us if we wanted dessert, we said no, but my nephew said it was his grandma and uncle s birthday. They brought out 2 small cannolis on one plate with a candle, no extra plate, and a fork, they we re supposed to share. Really , we spent $495 for dinner, the least they could have done was give each of the birthday people their own cannolis, not share two small ones, on one plate, they were not even sitting together. Very disappointed in this place. We all agreed we would not come back, besides the food was not that great!

My fiancé and I came to Piola for our anniversary dinner and they did not disappoint! Not only was the food, wine, and general ambiance amazing - the service was OUTSTANDING. Theresa was our main waitress and she was super polite and poised, but also personable! We loved having her and WILL be back because of her wonderful service and attitude. We were also helped by Besa and she was just as friendly and helpful! We got the Arancini, chicken parmigiano, and the smoked chicken fettuccine as well as the cappuccino cake and limoncello cake for dessert. Everything was beyond fabulous. This is quickly going to become my favorite restaurant and we can t wait to come back. Thank you, Piola!

This was hands down the best restaurant I ve ever eaten at. My husband and I came to Fort Worth on a business trip and decided to eat Italian for my birthday dinner. We had the grandmas lasagna which was indescribable and then they gifted me with a cannoli stuffed with chocolate chip cream and I think I will remember it forever! I wish I lived in this area so I could eat here more often!

Ambience is amazing. Service is great. Food is okay salmon was over cooked both times we ve come here. The special was a chilean bass which was thin, dry, tasted like a frozen fish. It came with a gnocchi primavera which had a very basic red sauce and the only veggie was zucchini. The desserts were also whatever, the limoncello cake tasted like fridge lol there s no way else to describe it. We may come here again just to drink good wine and enjoy the beautiful ambience.

This the one of the best Restaurants in Fort Worth. My wife and I have been back multiple times. I met three employees on my most recent visit: a host who left us feeling unwelcome, a waiter who seemed occupied with other things, and a waiter from a different table who showed interest and commitment as if it was his own restaurant. It is interesting how certain interactions and experiences can completely overcome any recall about the uniqueness of a setting or the flavors of a meal.

Had a lovely dinner here prior to a Casa Manana show. My husband & I both had the deli chicken Picatta (yum!) & my mother raved about her shrimp Scampi! The service was spot on as well. This review is long overdue. I ended up dining here multiple times while in town visiting Fort Worth in 2019. This is as upscale Italian restaurant and the food is authentic as it gets. Everything is very fresh and well seasoned. The owners are extremely friendly and hospitable. It is as if they are welcoming you into their home the minute you walk through the threshold. When I return to Fort Worth you can bet Ill be stopping in at Piola!

Husband surprised me with dinner for our Anniversary here. All i can say is simply amazing. A cozy place, with wonderful food and excellent staff. It was perfect. My wife and I had our Valentines Day dinner there. Its a nice little place in an old house. A little noisy. Sercice was good. When I made the reservation, it did not say anywhere on open table or the website that it was a fixed price menu with limited choices. We dont care for that. We only found out that it was when the restaurant called a few hours before our reservation to confirm. They did email me the menu. But we didnt have much of a choice to go anywhere else because there werent any other places we could get a reservation. So strike one. The fried calamari was akin to 3 large fish sticks. My wife got the Smoked Chicken Fettuccini. She said it was extremely smokey in flavor. I took a bite and it pretty much tasted like ashes from a fireplace. Strike two. The desserts were very good. Now, for the price. Talk about a markup! It was $69 per person. On a regular night, our meals would have been less than $40 each. Thats ridiculous! Strike three. Needless to say, we wont be going back

This is a great little Italian gem. The atmosphere is great. Cozy little restaurant. The food is amazing and delicious. We started out with the calamari, lobster bisque, and had both the veal parmesan and Grandmas lasagna. Everything was delicious. Make sure you save room for dessert. Overall it was a wonderful experience. Very unassuming from the outside, looks like a residence. Once you enter through the glass and iron door it quaint and elegant. Service was pleasant. My husband and I are traveling for my job and wanted some Italian. I have to say that the insalata Caprese was some of the best I ve ever had. The basalmic glaze and pesto sauce for dipping was phenomenal, I wanted to order another. I resisted. I had the special Chilean Sea Bass was cooked well and the sauce with it was a good match. It was survived with a spinach pesto risotto, also very good but didn t pair well with the sea bass. I only reduced the experienced to 4 stars for a couple reasons. I ordered Tiramisu and it was awful, tasted spoiled and I was bummed but was pleasant. Just asked the waiter to swap it for crème brulee because of the problem. The crème brûlée made up for it with delicious flavor and consistency. My reduction in stars was based on the fact that they still charged me for a dessert and the owner or manager that was there never came to apologize or offer any sort of check in..

Everything about Piola is as it should be - curteous staff, friendly owners ready to accomodate the needs of customers, wonderful atmosphere, and brilliant food. Even the saltiness of the food was perfection, just the right amount. One must book a table in advance because of their regular clientele although on the day we booked the were able to accomodate all nine of us.
