I hope this review will help the owner address some issues. I found a hair in my food after I d finished eating. Further the jerk pork was dry and tough. The rice was dry and old with a slight crunch to it. It was awful and I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

I dont know how anyone could give this place 5 stars. Their drinks were in cans and bottles poured in dixie cups , plastic silverware. We ordered the snapper and it was so dry we couldnt eat it. We ordered the macaroni was dry and tasted fishy amd old. We asked for catsup and they brought us 3 little packets of catsup. All we ate was the salad . It was a total waste of money . I wouldnt let my dog eat here on my cat. This place is nasty drive atmosphere with some radio in the background. If I could give this a zero I would.

What a surprise! My wife and I stopped in for lunch and were taken away with how good the food was! Friendly, prompt service, congenial atmosphere, and delicious jerk chicken, tasty plantains, succulent veggies after we devoured our orders, she ordered a plate to go and I should have done the same. They were also hosting a fundraiser for a friend, so they have heart too! We would highly recommend Lucian s. Most assuredly, we ll be back!!! Outstanding!!!!!

So glad we finally tried this place! We went here with our young kids and the server and owner were very friendly and accommodating. They have a kids menu with crayons/coloring page which always keeps my kids entertained. Since our kids arent as adventurous as us, they ordered penne pasta with marinara (perfect for them). The food the adults ordered was AMAZING. I cant wait to take out-of-town visitors here to try it. Kid-friendliness: kids menu, crayons, table games, accommodating for special kid requests

Amazing food. Taste just like it s from your favorite relatives kitchen direct to you! The flavors were amazing. Had the jerk chicken and it s hard to explain what flavor you taste first, sweet or spicy . They both hit you right at the same time! Plantains were authentic, chips for my 3 year old with her burger were amazing for her!!! The wife had the ox tails and they were delicious as well flavor packed, and their sides were delicious. The food is good, except the restaurant lacks authenticity, when you first walk in its more Caucasian at the front desk that dont know anything about the food, except one the black lady with the low cut. They represent culture on the outside, but one the inside is completely different. As a West Indian i was iffy about even trying the food because because the other lady barely had any knowledge of Jamaican food. The food was good, just wish the jerk chicken was more spicier like its supposed to be.

The owner very nice and professional. The atmosphere was really nice & clean. But the food was not good. The jerk chicken tasted like left overs it was dry and unseasoned( I wouldn t have served that chicken to anyone) The greens tasted like canned greens again no flavor. The macaroni pie was very dry and tasted like plain noodles no flavor. The curry potatoes were good. The oxtails were ok very greasy no gravy. The service time was decent. I spent close to 70$ for more than half the food to be thrown away.

Ordered delivery for the first time and was so pleased I ordered from Lucians!! Everything was so delicious! Jerk chicken dinner with sweet plantains, rice and peas, macaroni pie, roti, and a chicken patty. Lots of leftovers from their generous servings and to die for flavor in it all! Trust me your going to want to order the guava sauce, its to die for sweet with the right amount of heat! Will definitely be trying other dishes too in the near future! Yummy!

I had a great experience visiting Lucians Caribbean Grill! Its only 15 minutes from Hobby airport and easy to find. As I entered, I was greeted by the young lady behind the counter who was very knowledgeable about everything on the menu. I like the idea of having certain items only available on certain days and so Im glad I came on a Saturday because I really wanted to try the jerk pork! I also chose the curry beef which I have not seen offered anywhere else. I chose greens and plantains for one plate and steamed cabbage and mac n cheese for the other plate and rice and peas for both plates. I was impressed by the variety and the number of items that I have not seen at other Caribbean restaurants. While waiting for my order, I walked around to admire the design and decor of the restaurant. There are a lot of tables and plenty of space so it doesnt feel crowded. I was surprised to see a couple on the stage live DJ-ing the music playing from the speakers. I was almost startled when I heard my name called behind me, another young lady brought my to-go order to the front in less than 5 minutes! She briefly opened the to-go boxes to show me what I ordered and it was beautiful to see and smell! I was very happy with the portions and the amount of food that fit into the boxes. The collard greens (recommended by the lady that took my order) were so flavorful and tender. The Mac n cheese pie was the best Ive ever had, so creamy and cheesy. And you know, steamed cabbage is steamed cabbage, but this was full of flavor. The curry beef was just like some of the best curry chicken but with stew beef that was cooked down to fall apart tender. The jerk pork was also similarly tender and cooked with very nice jerk season and was so juicy with little bits of gelatinous fat on some bites that just burst with flavor! I was also given a guava jerk sauce which is amazing and a cup of sliced habanero pepper with what seemed like olive oil with a little pesto which was a nice touch to mix up the choice of spice and flavor to alternate dipping the pork. If I lived closer, I would quit cooking Jamaican food at home and just order here every day! I cant wait for the next time I come through to try more items from the menu! Oh and definitely looking forward to the new items coming to the updated menu that is still in development!

Our dinner here was excellent. We were able to get a seat right away. I enjoyed the music and atmosphere. I had the jerk chicken, plantains and greens. The jerk chicken was not too spicy and a nice portion. It was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The greens weren t your typical greens. They were very flavorful and had pieces of red pepper which gave it a nice taste. The plantains were so good! My husband had the grilled snapper. The snapper was plated beautifully and tasted excellent. The assortment of Caribbean juices was also really fun to try. The Sorrel juice was my favorite, an absolute must. I was impressed with how healthy everything was. The restaurant was also very clean. We will definitely be regulars here.

Lucian s is a great restaurant. It has a good vibe and it feels good inside. The beef patties were amazing. My family was very happy with all of their choices even the little ones said they chicken tenders were so good. I will definitely bring my family back and come back for a date night. I highly recommend you give Lucian s a try. Kid-friendliness: I have three young kids and they liked the music. One kiddo spilled a drink and the waitress was very kind about it. I went to Lucian s today because I wanted some good Caribbean food. Definitely not what I got. Everything was fine up until waiting for the actual food. The wait took forever! I honestly think they forgot my order because a family who walked in after we ordered had already gotten their food. Due to the wait I ask them how much longer would my food take? She went to back to check and gave me the excuse everything is made to order so that s why it s taking so long. Bad excuse, what I ordered was a jerk burger, and one Jamaican pattie. The whole order cost $18. A burger doesn t take THAT long to cook, (I used to work in food service.) Why it took more than 20 minutes, I don t know. Then on top of that I get my food, and there s only a handful of Chips that come with the Jerk Burger. Not even a Cup. Also they re literally Chips, not fries. The Lady up front told me they would be fries when I asked. Over all a bad experience, it s a shame too, they re the only Caribbean place.

We stopped by on a Sunday for take out, our order consisted of curry chicken with rice & peas, jerk chicken with cabbage, rice & peas, plantain & coco bread; all of it was worthy of the 5 stars given. The chicken was tender, seasoned & quite obviously made with patience & love. I don t hesitate to say that dark meat haters would like the curry or jerk, it s that good. First let me start with , the food was delicious. I was disappointed that the service didn t measure up. We met up with my adult kids who were sitting on an outside red table. Well as soon as we received our food the bench collapsed from under me. I fell back to the ground ( thankfully me (44) and not someone older than me or my toddler) . We moved to another table bench where there were ants , so we had to move inside. Which was fine. But nobody helped me after my fall now nor helped my family move our plates to any table. So once inside we finally got to eat and while everyone was finished except for me. I was just starting my rice and eating my cabbage, my special need toddler dropped his cup with water and ice. I apologized and let her know and she said she d clean it up once we got out the way I had already fell because of a rotted bench table and I wasn t gonna risk another accident especially to my toddler. So once that was said my husband paid our ticket and we left. I didn t get to finish my plate. Again , food was delicious but the way they handled things , I just didn t agree with. The only one who asked if I was ok was the pretty, dark waitress with long hair. She wasn t even our waitress! So thankful we decided to turn around and try this place! Moving to the area soon and this will definitely be a regular spot for us. I ordered the jerk wings with rice and peas, curry potatoes and plantains. My meat was falling off the mother effin bone. You know when you can eat flats in one bite? Like that! Flavor, SLAPPED. Told them they needed to bottle the Mango Jerk sauce. So friggin good, trying that scotch bonnet when I go back. Coco bread, FLUFFY. Patties, FLAKY. Above all everything was FRESH. Our waitress was so very sweet and helpful. They do karaoke every 1st and 3rd Saturday. They have a really cute outside picnic area where they host a party every 2nd Saturday with love music and hookah! Definitely check this place out. When I saw this place I was very excited to have a Caribbean restaurant in this side town but, we were very disappointed with food. The oxtail, the Cory chicken the meat was boiled too long and then put into the stew. The inside of the meat had no flavor, the taste was not what it should of be. The shrimp pasta no so good either, the shrimp were good but for $19 dollars for just 4 shrimp I don t think it s worth a price, the patties are not That good, we had better. I was working a double at my job this past Saturday when I decided to order from this place for the 1st time because I was craving Carribean food. I ended up ordering 2 items. The 1st thing I ordered is the Jamaican Beef Patty that came with 3. I absolutely loved it. It was spicy, just the way I like it. The pastry was flaky and delicious. Ill 100% get that again. The 2nd thing I ordered is my favorite food in the entire world is a large Oxtail Plate with Rice and Peas and Greens. Despite the small Oxtails that I received, it was so tender and flavorful, like it should be. Both sides of Greens and Rice and Peas was so good. Everything I ate that day was made with love. I will order from there again and I will come there in person soon.

Called in and ordered take out. When I picked it up and took it home, the rice and peas were missing from the entree. I called the next morning since they were closed by the time I got home that night. The cashier offered a plate of rice and peas, which I wouldn t have any use for as I already ate the rest of the food. She then changed the offer to a refund to which I agreed to. I did not see a refund to my account so I called a few days later and she said her manager wanted to copy of my receipt and some other information. I then provided that info to assist with the refund. To this date, I still have not been refunded. It s been over a month. Update: I received a partial refund (I was promised a full refund from over a month ago). The communication with the business regarding this refund was very off-putting and I would not be returning to this restaurant in the future. Perhaps they can learn from this instance and do better by other customers in the future.

This was my first time visiting. The parking was great, the server, Skylar was extremely nice, the atmosphere was very nice but the food was not the good. I read the reviews before making a decision, and I just knew the food was about to be on point. It wasnt. I had the rasta pasta with jerk salmon. The sauce was very thin and had a weird taste to it like it was spoiled. The noodles were extra gummy. The salmon had little to no flavor to it. I do not waste food, but it was no point in me trying to force myself to eat something that was not good. The owner, I think, came to the parking lot and thanked us for coming. He was really nice, but I highly doubt well be back. There was a dj playing great music. If I were to go back, it would be for the music.

This place blew my mind. I got the jerk wings and they were soo tender and fell off the bone. They had a great jerk taste to them. I was disappointed they were out of plantain but the coleslaw and Curry potatoes made up for it. Im not a big coleslaw person but the coleslaw went very well with the jerk wigs. This place has authentic all beef patties that are made fresh with every order. As someone from Toronto with patties found on every street corner and as a West Indian, I was a little skeptical at first. I am glad I gave this spot a shot because the customer service is great and the food is on point . He knows his customers and makes us feel at home in his restaurant. And the food is as close to being back home as possible. Youll taste they only cook from scratch. Being that I LOVE Caribbean food, I had high expectations. Unfortunately with that, this restaurant did not meet my expectations. I ll give reason why. Personally, it was not seasoned enough. Had it been seasoned some more and spice it would have been perfect. I think the empanadas could have been cooked a tad bit longer to get a good crisp. For reference I had the chicken patty, spinach empanada, rice and peas & the bread. Bread was a bit hard could have been a tad softer. Also plantains could of had a little more or a crisp. Those with me had the curry chicken and said it was good HOWEVER could have used more seasoning and spice. If in doubt check this restaurant out! The food was amazing, It tasted like I was in the Caribbean. I didnt take a pic because I thought its my usual Jerk chicken, rice and peas, mac n cheese. Absolutely delicious! I got 3 patties for $8 and decided to try the spicy beef, curry chicken, and mixed vegetable served with the guava jerk sauce on the side. My god were they amazing. My favorite was the beef, which paired really well with a red hot sauce they had at the table. The curry chicken was so good especially with the jerk sauce, they complemented each other SO WELL! The vegetable patty was also pretty good, it almost reminded me of a chicken pot pie filling, minus the chicken. Overall I really liked it all and the ambiance is great, I definitely plan to come back for more!

This was my first time eating Caribbean food so I dont really have anything to compare it with. That being said, Lucians served up the best restaurant meal I have had in recent memory. I had beef patties, jerk chicken, coco bread, macaroni pie and rice & peas and I mean it when I say that every bite was a hit. The jerk chicken was so good. Just enough spice without being overbearing. The bread was soft and pillowy. Rice was cooked perfect. I was blown away, it really left me cleaning the plate. The beef patties were big and full of meat. The guava jerk sauce was intended for the patties (I think) but it was so delicious I was pouring it on everything, even dipping my bread in it. It was sweet with a little heat. I will most definitely be returning to try more. Its rare that every part of a meal is great but Lucians delivered a truly fantastic dinner.

Let me start off by saying the place is very clean. I m very picky about eating from places that are not clean. I had the curry chicken with rice/peas (beans) and the cabbage! It was amazing; this is true Carribean food! My husband had the oxtails with potatoes and cole slaw. He said the ox tails were tender and juicy. It s very reasonable in price. There was barely any sauce on the meat so I just had to let it go to waste. Spent $30 for sides because the meat was horrible. I have been eating takout from this place for a while, and the only thing on their menu I havent tried are a few sides and their oxtail. Everything I have had so far has been amazing! My favorite so far is the curry chicken. Also, the curried potatoes are really good here. I ate at the restaurant for the first time recently, and that is when I was told by the owner about their signature drinks: mint lemonade and tropical fruit punch (alcoholic). Both were delicious drinks, and the punch was surprisingly strong and tasty, so it was definitely worth the price. They also have karaoke for old school reggae and afrobeats songs. I havent gotten to go yet, but so far this place is a wonderful place to eat with great service and delicious food, and I would recommend it to anyone.

My husband and I dined at this restaurant and really enjoyed it. We were out to town wanted Caribbean cuisine. After researching, we found Lucians Caribbean Grill. The food was delicious and the owner is very pleasant.
