Came to visit here an hour before close to look at their vintage lens selection. They had a good amount of options. Paul was very pleasent/helpful throughout the process. I asked a lot of questions and he was very patient and knowledgeable. His knowledge of vintage lenses was superb. I ended up picking up a modern macro (G - series) and one vintage lens. Needless to say, I spent more than I had originally planned. But well worth it to me. I ended up checking out a little after close. And didnt feel rushed at all. Paul was great 10/10. The rest of the staff were friendly and I noticed they greeted everyone who came in. Something you dont see often anymore. This is my 2nd time visiting here. And both times were great (a Matt helped me the first time). Def reccomend this place.

Let me start by saying I was very excited to check this store out - every time I remembered to swing by, it was on a Sunday and they were closed. Weekdays are hard for me to come in since they close at 5 and thats typically when I get off. I finally found some time to stop by and check out the place in anticipation for an upcoming trip - I knew I wanted a Peak Design backpack, but I needed to get a feel for the different sizes to decide which one I needed. When I walked in, I was greeted by a middle aged guy who asked if we needed any help - the backpacks were directly to the left when I walked in, so I politely declined and began looking at the bags with my lady. After looking through them for a minute, I glanced over at the register where the man who greeted me had been and there was now a younger guy standing there and he was just staring at me. I shook it off and continued looking at the bags - found one that was good for me, and my lady found a different bag she wanted to get for our gimbal. We had some extra time, so we took a second to look around the shop, as it was like we were kids in a candy shop at this point. While I was looking around the left side of the store, I noticed the same guy staring at me from the register. I shook it off again and continued looking around. I got around to the lenses on the right side of the store and was checking them out to see if I could compare some of the prices they had listed - after a second, the same guy walked around to that area and just kept staring at me again. At this point, its important to note that he never once introduced himself or asked us if we needed assistance, he just kept following me around the store and staring at me, but when I would look over at him, he would avert his eyes. I started feeling extremely uncomfortable. I was ready to purchase the bag and leave. In order to avoid the person who had been staring at me the whole time, I walked to the register at the front (where he was no longer standing since I was coming from the lense area, so he was now near the other register). An older man was standing there adding up some numbers on an old calculator. I politely let him know we were ready to check out and he looked up just barely from the calculator and kind of just stared at me for a second... which prompted me to continue with, if youre able to...? Or if I need to ask someone else, just let me know... He told us to check out at the other register where the guy who had been staring at me the whole time was at. We went over to the other register to check out and, at this point, I had to say something about this man staring at me the entire time I was in the store. I placed the bag on the counter and said, I really dont appreciate you staring at me the whole time Im in here looking around. The whole time Im checking out, theres no eye contact from this man. He doesnt respond to me. He doesnt apologize or explain himself. Silent as a mouse, just punching things into the register. A man came in from the back to watch over our interaction at this point. I said a couple other things along the lines of, this isnt the best way to maintain customers. I ended up putting back the bag we were going to get for the gimbal, as it was just something extra and at this point I didnt want to give them any more of my business. No one ever said anything in response to my concerns. Everyone was silent, no one was helpful. The only person that was helpful the entire time was the person who greeted us, but he was never seen again after that initial encounter. I have no idea what happened to that man, but I really wish he would have stayed around. Ill never go back to this store again. Ive never felt as uncomfortable in a place in my entire life as I did here.

Was disappointed. They were out of stock on numerous cameras and of the ones they did have in none were powered, there was no offer of putting a lens on to be able to test and compare things like fit, weight, viewfinder quality etc. absolutely no reason to drive here and pay a premium versus just taking a chance on a camera from an online retailer with a reasonable return or exchange policy. A wasted trip.

They have a lot of photography history inside and a fair stock of cameras and lens for sale. They also carry 35mm film and have film processing and print to print making. They buy used camera gear and will apply it towards new cameras and lens.

The rental process at this place is much harder than it has to be. Only accepts credit cards. No email confirmations to confirm you reserved the equipment. And 0 customer service skills. Don t waste your time just go to Aperturent for needs of this magnitude. This place is not it.

Seller beware !!! Arlington Camera is NOT the place to sell any camera lenses or camera bodies. Don t waste your time or gas. THEY will offer you about .10 cents on the dollar for top canon lenses. Just terrible they ll sell you a lens for a thousand dollars and will buy it back for about 125.00

The parking area is a disaster, but the lot was being repaired as I entered. The building exterior looks well maintained upon approach. Walking in, the store is filled from floor to ceiling with all things camera. It seems all personnel have general knowledge, but know who to turn to if there is a question they cant answer. They couldnt repair my camera, but they could get me the best possible print of a sixty-one year old photo of my parents wedding. These folks were recommended to me, and I see why.

Ive been a customer of Arlington Camera for years and I continue to have great experiences. When people know cameras the way they know cameras, it makes the shopping experience easy. Ive purchased more accessories than anything from the store. Theres a great selection of camera bags, reflectors, and tripods. I also found items to protect my lens and camera body. And lets not forget the cute items like socks and mugs. Yeah, Im that customer. More importantly, I appreciate who knows both film and digital cameras. Now, I will say Ive had to share my ID when making a purchase over a certain amount. Hey, with the world were living in I appreciate the extra step to protect me and them as well. Overall, this is one of the camera stores to add to your list of youre a professional or hobbyist.

Wow! I guess that why I do a lot shopping online. You go to these local shops to spend money they treat like crook. Went purchase a nice camera and lens talk with guy almost 20 minutes. Get ready check get all my info ring up then ask for IDENTIFICATION I ask you sure you want do this I look around to see if they have any signs up saying you need IDENTIFICATION use your card. Did not see I walk out keep my 4K spend somewhere else.

My little sister and I came by the store looking for the Fuji 30mm Macro, extra battery, and the dual charger for my XT-4. The sales rep Matt was awesome. He was extremely helpful and super informative; answered all my questions without hesitation and didnt ever seem annoyed by my questions! I really appreciated Matt and his amazing customer service. What made the whole experience even better was when Matt actually opened the boxes and showed me that the products I was purchasing were actually going home with me and not still in the store somewhere probably on display. Ill most definitely come back for future purchases.

Came in to rent a lens and Jay was the absolute worse. I walked up to the rental camera station and he didn t say a word. He just looked at me. No greeting at all. I let him know I would like to rent a lens and he said well did you reserve it . He went on to say you have to reserve a lens online . There is a big sign in the store that says call to reserve. I requested the lens online and he sent over a form via email. Didn t mention that he would be sending something for me to sign he just started typing on the computer. He clicked around on the computer for a while and then let me know I needed to give a card and ID. I handed my ID and debit card and he said no you need a major credit card . I asked him what was his issue and why was he being so short instead of explaining the new process to rent a lens and he blamed it on having to multitask and having a lot going on. The store had just opened and there were maybe 2 other customers that were being helped by other employees so I m not sure what else he had going on. I will never go back to Arlington camera for anything.

If I could leave 5 stars for the 2 guys that helped myself and my daughter I would. The 1 star is for the other old guys running the place. Who turns lights off 15 minutes before closing time. The hovering and circling us and the guys helping us was insulting. I shouldnt have bought the drone but I felt bad for the kids having to work with these jerks. I will not be back and this used to be the go to camera shop. Not anymore.

Jay was the gentleman that attended me and he was extremely cordial and very friendly. The price to get both of my rolls developed and scanned were really good too! Called a few days ago asking if their was any interest in buying some of my lenses. I was told I would get a call back soon with an answer. I was not called back. Called again today and got a good quote on my lenses. I asked if I could stop by in an hour to try and sell and they said of course. I came, waited for 20 minutes for a worker to finish what he was doing so he could talk with me. I felt ignored a little and the employees were a bit cold to me. After looking at my lenses and determining some interest, I was informed the actual guy who writes the checks is out on lunch for the next few hours...... So I couldnt sell because my wife and are are heading out of town and couldnt wait around. I dont understand why the man on the phone said it would be ok to stop by in an hour to then be told when I get there I would have to wait several more hours. Other than that unpleasant experience, they do have a lot of good items in stock for what seemed like good prices. I just felt like the employees didnt care about me, their customer.

Twice Ive been to this shop to pick up some gear and was greeted with close out items related to what I came in for. While the new gear was fine, the hefty discount on the almost-as-good close out items made me choose them instead and I came out walking with a fantastic bargain in my hands. Not only go in to buy equipment, but everyone in there is the most helpful with even answering questions. I ve been a customer for about 4 years now and nothing has changed. Jay has gone so far as to offer advice on where to shoot some of my sessions at outside! I ve gotten advice on flash equipment, lens selection.. This place is awesome and the information and people in there, even more so. Highly recommend. This is completely unsolicited but I wanted to share. I ve been in a couple of camera stores where I ve not even been able to ask questions, kind of treated like a number. At first, I took it personal (African American) and thought there were other factors alluding to me not being helped while others were. Arlington camera has been a God send in that regard as I have never felt uncomfortable or as I didn t belong. Highly highly recommend for all things relating to photography and videography.

Stopped in here just before closing Thursday afternoon. I wish they were open later to give me more time to explore but I did find a used Pentax lens in great condition for a very good price! It went home with me as I m a Pentaxian. The staff were very friendly and super helpful. I finished my shopping by 5 so I didn t hold them up from closing. Arlington camera is the only camera store in Arlington Texas now you would think that because they have the monopoly that they would have high prices but they dont they have a very very knowledgeable team of representatives and says people they will buy used equipment antique all the way up to Doing the photos they have lots of information that is there for the taking free youve got all that knowledge of all the staff that are professional photographers that they share with you without a question ask this is a plus they have long since been in Arlington they are some my wheelchair accessible you just have to and I am a big guy in a big wheel chair I could go in through the front door with no problem Ive got it to where once I am inside I have a limited areas I can go but more than half of the store and the other areas they are more than willing willing to bring product out to show you you know and explain what they have back in that area unfortunately they dont have a public restroom And parking you have lots of now with a wheelchair you have to go about 50 yd to the East or the West to be able to get up on the sidewalk to get in to the store which is a shame that they dont have the cut out directly in front of their store but other than that highly recommended must C

I hate buying from big name stores like Best Buy, Amazon, etc. I always prefer to buy from your smaller neighborhood store. The downfall of that is you might run into a small owned business that has poor customer service like I witnessed and experienced today. Before I get into what happened with me, there was an older gentleman (customer) being tended to by an older lady. The lady was rude and disrespectful towards the man when he was asking legitimate questions most people would probably ask. Now the man that helped me....the conversation lasted literally 1 minute. No exaggeration. I wanted a lens. First off he approached me very aggressively and rudely. Secondly it took him 30 seconds to look for the lens I wanted to tell me they didnt have it. Then that was the end of that conversation. I have money. Had he attempted to sell me a different lens, I wouldve bought it. Just for helping me out. But nope. Hardly looked, no attempt to help me out by selling me another lens, no up-sell, no nothing but attitude and brush offs. Wont be going there again unless by some miracle they attempt to redeem themselves. But hey....I found it on Amazon for a few bucks cheaper anyway. And then businesses wonder why Amazon is doing so well. Sucks but I needed a lens before my business trip. So big name wins again!

I needed to have a 35mm single negative converted to digital copy in a hurry and they were so great! I was able to get it converted to disk in about 15 minutes while I waited in store. Cost wasnt bad either, 3 bucks for the conversion and 5 bucks for a disc. I think i could have saved the 5 bucks if I had brought in a USB drive but since this was my first time converting something I didnt know.

RENTING EQUIPMENT POLICY (What they dont tell you) -The first time I visited their website, I noticed you could rent a lens, so I decided to give them a visit a few months back to see what the shop was like and to inquire more about it and found it would be really useful to rent a lens to test it out before buying. I ended up having a shoot one day and go in a couple days early to rent one out. They asked for my drivers license and if I had a major credit card. I handed them my debit card to cover the day rental, but they dont accept anything that says debit or checking. Why? In order to rent out equipment, they take out a DEPOSIT for the equipment you are borrowing. You cant pay in cash either (unless you can buy the camera/lens then and there.) They give it back. However, at no point was this mentioned to me via person beforehand, and its not written anywhere on the website. I would say do your research first, but its something that you couldnt research. Hopefully this helps other photographers like me who are just starting out in photography. (I understand the reasoning behind it and it wouldve been better if this was written SOMEWHERE in fine print. But seriously, its counterproductive to business because most of the people who test out/rent lenses are the ones who cant afford them, so its moreso used for portfolio building to get a better paying photography job.)

I just had my first experience here and it a great one. We walked in and were immediately greeted. They were all very informative and answered a lot of questions that I havent been able to get answered at other places. After my interaction with the sales associate, I immediately felt confident in spending $2200 to purchase my Sony 24-70 lens. This will definitely be my number one stop for my future photography needs.

First rate. Professional in every way. This is a little store with high volume, so its always busy. But if you have a question. Feel free to ask. They know their stuff. There is another camera shop in the market. Early on, I asked them a beginners question, and my question was promptly met with scorn and ridicule. That was the first and last time I shopped there. If photography is your career or a big part of your life, you will enjoy shopping at Arlingtom Camera. Great service and selection are what you can expect.

This place is beyond awesome and reasonably priced. I always have a pleasant visit when I come. Today was by far the best customer service I have received. My 2yr old had just fallen asleep and I was coming to pick up a backdrop, called and politely asked if they could run it to my car parked in front. The verified my information and brought it out. It s the little things that make companies great. I love this place. SHOP HERE!!

Great Service! I called in just a few days before Christmas, so I know that they were slammed. I was getting the new Sony A9 for my wife. I had spent some time on their website but had a couple questions before I hit submit. The owner got on the phone and helped make sure that what I was ordering was what I actually needed. He then suggested an alternate charger that had better feedback when used in real world situation. He also took the time to find a couple rebates that I did not know about. I will be doing business with them again and again and again!

Initial sale was a good experience which was expected since they are trying to win your business. But then after a few months they don t respond to your emails any more. You can try it yourself. Ask for a copy of your receipt. Tell them it s for the registration. See if you get anything. I bought my Sigma 17-35mm and Tamron 70-200mm from them. I have since bought 7 more high end lenses this time any where but from them. They lost my business which I was prepared to give to them, them being local and all. Sigh. I give this low review in hopes that they read it and improve their customer service. So you guys can benefit from it.

Gil was amazing. Helped fix an old 35mm camera spent an hour helping us out. Fort Worth Star Telegram called them the best Camera Store in Arlington. Was at Fort Worth Camera 2 weeks ago and would like to save you a trip anywhere else. This is the BEST camera store in all Tarrant County!!!
