place is extremely loud. The manager Stephanie bureno did not try to help with the other party loudness she shrugged it off and offered us the patio seat. She refused to say anything i left this place with a headache lost my appetite could not continue to eat. The entire restaurant was annoyed at the party of 8

I ordered a to go Tavern burger at lunch today. The burger was over cooked, it was dry and hard, the fries was also bad, it tasted like it was refried . I am ver disappointed of my burger and fries. It was not like my last visit of this Tavern place. I wander what has been changed.

Arrived at the Tavern 8/18, sat down and immediately felt warm, not enough to leave yet was recognized. So ordered a nice summer drink, vodka tonic (notice I said tonic). Glass was placed - looked like tap water - flat, flat flat. My buddy and I returned it with notice and I received my 2nd one - same? How can you screw up tonic water? So, I returned mine yet again (so now three drinks), but how hard is it to get tonic right?

I have been coming to Tavern pretty much since they opened. One of my top favorite Fort Worth fine casual dining locations. Always very popular for brunch and weekends. Went again this past Sunday 08-11-2024. I had the Farmhouse Special with the pork chop and eggs and potatoes. It was certainly up to the standard I am used to at Tavern. The service is always great and friendly, and food is fantastic. Sunday brunch crowd can get busy, but that is a good thing. My other go-to favorite is their long standing famous pastrami sandwich, which I usually end up taking half home with me. Never had a bad experience at Tavern. I do recommend reservations for Friday or Saturday nights, or any time in the fall when college football season is happening. I have also been there for a happy hour and just sat at the bar for lite bites, and that is great as well!

We love the Tavern been enjoying it for at least 3 years. The vibe cannot be beat, the service is excellent and up till recently - the food is top notch. But in the last year it seems like things are going downhill a bit. Example - love, love, love the shrimp cocktail and the shrimp itself is still good - but it once was served with great presentation and in ice. Now it s simply laid out over limp iceberg on a dinner plate. No ice. Fresh shrimp should always be in ice. The small Caesar salad was blah - and the croutons were made from leftover sweet cornbread. Yuk. We all know how hard it is to run a restaurant these days, but God we were counting on the Tavern to rise above! Please don t change!

If you are young or colored don t waste your time!The food is great as always however every time I go to eat my service is terrible.. As a former employee of the Tavern I know how the guest should be treated and they definitely don t treat us all equally! Our food took forever and although that s a regular occurrence in restaurants it was fairly slow and we were never checked on by our server..We didn t get a water refill until PAYING out our ticket, After the food was packed up and having to ask 4-5 times throughout our sitting for water! Watching for another server and seeing no one else tables are having these problems or being ignored,I finally asked to speak to a Manager and was completely dismissed

This place has become a favorite day spot. Plush interior and excellent libations, its a great hangout for a fun social atmosphere. The menu is small but the food is excellent. Vibrant. Thats the word to describe this place. Came on mothers Day weekend so you know they were busy. But the staff was very timely with our order. The artichoke dip was off the chain good. They had music playing but it was not annoying. The crowd was louder than the tunes. The food was well prepared and came out together. Very good migas! Get an extra side of salsa to really kick it up. There are so many items in the menu I want to try that Ill definitely be back.

Food was made incorrectly, they added things to it that weren t even on the menu. Our table didnt have a consistent server. After waiting 20 mins with no one coming by we asked a random server for our ticket. He never came back then someone finally came by so we requested the ticket after an additional 10 mins later. I believe they had the bartender covering our table for some reason. Im thinking she needs to stay behind the bar since she can t get our orders right and can t check on the table. We will not be returning.

Had the corn bread, too dry. Texas burger had no flavor and served on a straight out of the fridge bun so it was cold, uncooked cheese, and forgot the bbq sauce. Dined in once and took to go another time. Honestly the ToGo experience was better in that the food was ready to go and away I went to enjoy a bottle of wine with it all at home. Service was slow the one time I did dine in. This is a Chef Armenta restaurant and really the food is just solid. All of the locations (but we have yet to go to Pacific Table.) Ill give service here a 4, and overall rating at a 4.4, and would definitely dine here again. We have already amassed 700 something points at the FarOut restaurant group!

My daughter and a friend (TCU students) went to the Tavern restaurant on Sunday, 1/21/24, and were completely ignored by the staff for 20 min. before finally leaving. They were dressed neatly causal, and saw no posted dress code and were not approached by the staff and informed of an issue. No customer deserves to be ignored. I would hope TCU families will make another dining choice and avoid the Tavern restaurant

Basically, its a sports bar with semi- fine dining prices. It was good but not worth the amount of money spent. I went with my team for our holiday outing/gift exchange and somehow a reservation for 12 people, turned into signing an event contract, stating that we need to reach a certain threshold to avoid being charged a venue fee. We also had to pay 22% in gratuity, according to the contract (all our waiter did was pour us water... No other interaction, apart from taking our orders). Then at the end of our dinner, they tried to charge a card that was on file to hold our reservation, for the entire meal, although it was told to them, we all were paying cash. For 12 of us, we spent $398, after adding the venue fee and gratuity, we spent $600 as a group. The majority of our meals were around $35 and we did not have a private section. We literally sat in the center of the restaurant and used 3 tables. Is it a great place for couples or friends to get together? Sure. But large groups, take your money elsewhere. Its not worth the hassle.

We were totally disgusted after being served a bug on our plate here. The server snatched the plate off the table as if she knew exactly what to do in the situation. The manager then came out and said she didn t know what else to say other than sorry and that she would refund the entire tab. Then she walked away. The entire restaurant was swarming with flies and I can assure you that under no circumstances will we be returning to this establishment! I ordered the steak and the flavor was awful but after finding that bug in the food we didn t finish our drinks or did I finish the other food they offered to give us for free. Worst experience of my life and I m almost 60 years old. I ordered Cobb salad. Almost no bacon and certainly not warm as advertised. Strange cornbread croutons, probably from leftover cornbread sides, had a couple dried fruit that wasn t supposed to be there, not nearly enough lettuce to meat ratio. Cheddar was clumped up. Ordered the salad tossed but had very little dressing. They did not give extra on the side and it took so long for a server to walk by that I gave up. Drink was awful. Again, worse than anything I ve ever had. Something was very very wrong there. OJ and vodka hard to mess up. Entire family tried and I insisted the waiter try and he said awful as well. I gave up on the drink and stuck with water. And even that was warm. No ice and poured from a carafe that was not cold. All hot food was cold, not cool, but stone cold. Apparently they don t know what warmers are. Out of many beers. Had to get Miller Lite that could have been had at home. No Corona, Modelo, Dos Equis, Pacifico, and more. One of our party got beer right away, the other took forever. Mixed up deliver if all three salads, had to remake all of them as our party had already tried them before realizing they were wrong. And my salad came out way after the other two. And it was completely wrong. Was not tossed and had honey mustard dressing rather than blue cheese. So not just delivered way after everyone else, and after the redos but my salad was wrong and one of the others got my salad that they took back even though we were willing to keep it. Only 2 of 7 food orders were correct and they were stone cold as well but family decided to keep and eat them anyway. By the time we got any food at all the two youngest were starving. No discount! No explanation, no apologies. I d say all this was because they were short staffed but that was clearly not the case. At all. There were what appeared to be two managers. Neither stopped by to ask how everything was or to respond at all. There were many many servers and staff delivering food. Two people delivered the food in fact and they are the ones that delivered all the wrong salads. How hard is it to ask to make sure the right food was delivered to the right customer? They were NOT busy. Will never go back. They didn t even attempt to make things right. It was a very disappointing two 1/2 hour ordeal. It should have been a max one hour. We only ordered salads and sandwiches.

Weve been coming for years and enjoy the Tavern. Its a little upscale for our family, so we dont bring the kids. It can get really busy for dinner. The menu is pretty consistent, but highlight for us are the fish tacos, cornbread, meatloaf, Rubén sandwich, and the crab cakes. They have a pretty sweet happy hour too if you want a cold drink and appetizers. We went twice in June 2023 and the staff/service were fantastic. I highly recommend if you want a classy place with good food, great service, and want to stay away from downtown and the trendy parts of town.

We ve heard so many positive things about this restaurant, so we were very excited to give it a try. After going twice, I just don t understand the hype. Our meals both times could be described as aggressively average. Average flavor, average quality, average presentation. The service was the highlight, we had waiters each time that were engaging and attentive. The food was just such a letdown, after two disappointing visits and four disappointing dishes, we won t be back.

NOT A KID FRIENDLY PLACE. They do not have a kids menu. Don t sit outside because there are lots of gnats and flies. Ordered the only burger on the menu and you couldn t substitute the chips for fries! What?!!! The chips were not great too. So I paid for something I didn t want. Who does that these days? The burger is really good though! That s the only reason I added the other star.

I ordered a cappuccino extra hot, was brought out warm. Waitress offered to remake it, and next time was hot but not extra hot. I ordered salad with salmon. Salmon was over heavily spiced and warm not hot. Artichoke appetizer was heavily oiled, dry and over cooked. Furthermore appetizer was brought out after entree. Although very nice restaurant, I will not return. I would rather spend my time and money on a place that is consistent and cares about serving with out asking for what is deserved.

Thanks for taking a later than preferred table of three on a Sunday night. The margaritas are worth the trip alone. All the appetizers are well executed. Let s stop pretending you make an Ahi Tuna Burger, just reprint the menu. My server was gracious and knowledgeable, as was the entire staff. Appreciate what you do, from a fellow Fort Worth finer dining enthusiast, it s always well executed at The Tavern. Kid-friendliness: Your server took the time to address the kids individually with humor and respect. Much appreciated. Really sealed a nice time for us all.

I went with a group for brunch today. We had 12 ladies total. We had a reservation booked days out before we arrived, so they knew we were coming. The organizer called ahead to to make sure separate checks would be okay and was told yes. The food was fantastic, and every single food thing was great. Getting our drinks took forever. It took 45 minutes for me to get the Dr. Pepper I had ordered when I first arrived. They would also only do four bills total for the group, and then it wasnt split the way we had asked. We were there for 45 minutes after we all finished eating just to get the bills done correctly. Someone kindly comped a few things on the bill, but what a pain. I dont recommend going here for a large group of people. I think some of us will go back on our own or with a spouse, but we will not be returning as a large group again. They need to have better processes in place that are more efficient. Food was fantastic, but the service and bill paying for a large group need improvement.

I really wanted to like this place. The decor does not match the food or service. I ordered the Baja fish tacos. The rice had hard grains, the cole slaw was extremely dry. The beans were bland. I also ordered a side salad as well that did not come out with the entree, it actually did not come out for over 20 minutes after delivery of the entree. The entire dish was cold. I was scared to send it back because you never know what people are going to do your dishes once it is sent back. My server came to our table about three times, overall. She was super busy with another table the whole time. The restaurant was empty. We were stared at the whole time by the entire staff. This place is not for ppl of color not ppl who do not look like they have the means. We did not come in with an agenda, I did not want to believe that a place in Fort Worth, Dallas would treat their customers as if they did not belong there and were ignored.

Finally stopped in here and enjoyed a delicious meal, Im so glad I did. For the longest time I thought this was a sports bar but boy was I wrong. Its a relatively small place with an upscale charm. Our waiter Irving was just great, he made some great suggestions and honestly we looked at the menu far to long as a result of his suggestions, because most of it sounded good. Started off with a dirty martini which to be frank needed some improvements, if the bartender couldnt make a proper staple drink like that then get someone else to make it. Settled on the wagyu burger with the Mac n cheese and it was incredible, kids chicken nuggets, and enchilada and filet. The burger was really good as were the fries. The chicken nuggets were some of the best weve had at a restaurant. The ranch was good but had a very strong onion flavor and wasnt like a traditional ranch, they would be wise to just stick what works with ranch and dont get fancy with it. My filet was incredible, it was juice and cut with a fork. The enchilada as slightly bland, and would have been better without the red sauce on top, so I suggest 86ing that or seeing if they have a different sauce. Also I recommend steering clear of dishes with their rice. It s just not very appetizing. I will be back to try the other things I couldnt decide between.

Went some weeks ago. Tasty food and the remodel certainly brings the ambiance of the restaurant up a notch from what it used to be, but far too many flies are buzzing around seats nearest the windows. Makes eating comfortably a bit of a chore, considering youre constantly swatting at flies. Waiter mentioned that management has been aware of the problem for sometime now.

We had a real bad experience Saturday night! We could not hear the movie for all the noise from the kitchen and kitchen staff. Heard cussing, yelling, very unprofessional. Disturbing. The manager refunded out three movie tickets.We also waited for the popcorn, then awhile for our food, then our drinks arrived last after we asked about our drinks twice. Unbelievable.

Ate here on Sunday, 8/7/22 for lunch and sat at bar. First visit a few months ago, I remember the food being very good, so was excited to return. Today, bar was packed, sat at seat where there was trash left on the counter from previous guest no one bothered to clean. Waited 10 minutes to even be acknowledged, ordered a drink, then had to ask for both silverware and a straw. After receiving my food, it was a 180 from initial visit for the same entree! Food tasted cold, including the fries, which I loved the first time. Bun for sandwich was also cold and soggy. Had to ask for my 1 drink refill - that s the theme - you don t get a drink, silverware etc unless you as the customer ask. At end of meal, server said thanks for your patience as if trying to salvage a tip after providing horrible service. I will not go back here after wasting money on being ignored and receiving cold food.

Lunch today. Ordered crab salad. The price was not on menu. When I got my check, they charged me $33.00 for 1 crab cake and some salad with it. The steak salad was $22.00. I thought one crab cake would not be anymore than the steak. My lunch was $40.00 plus tip. This place is way to high. Be sure and ask the price before you order. Who spends $40.00 for a salad and tea. Way too high.

Hostess is a liar. Came here on Father s Day. We did not have a reservation. We were told it would be 25 min wait, which was fine, so we waited. 35 min went by and we watched as 2 tables opened up next to each other. We inquired about those tables and how much longer. We were told the 2 tables were for people with reservations. Then we watched them sit people that were on the waitlist as well and that had come in 20 min after us. Completely lied to us. When confronted about it they flat out ignored us. Just stared at us with a smirk. Tried to talk to the manager, but she was just as bad as the rest of the staff. Thanks for the Father s Day fun. Poorly run, manager didn t care. Wouldn t spend a dime here. Don t go here.

This place is, how you say, not good. I mean it was fine, but not good. Hostess was nice. Bar service treats it more like a sports bar than a restaurant. Food was ok but more on par with charlestons than you d expect for this place. This place just missed on all the small details that make a restaurant great (tables were empty, but not cleaned off, even down to several misspellings on the menu, interior design that is annoyingly bad, cobwebs in the lights ) It could be a good spot if someone just gave it a bit more love and attention.

So I took my son to the Tavern , I normally love this place. He had two drinks, I had one . I looked at my bill, they charged 1.50 each for Rocks ( ice) ???? Last Wednesday called at 5 pm and asked if we could make reservations for 6:30. Oh no, we were told, you won t need reservations. Not busy at 6:30. Got there without reservations and waited 20 minutes for a table that didn t have a server. Got tired of waiting for the non-existent server and left. Went to another restaurant. Tonight ordered two Zuni chicken salads. Decided to be smart and get take home. Got two salads with spinach leaves, boiled chicken pieces / no nuts, no apples, no pecans, no walnuts, no raisins, no egg, no bacon, no white cheddar cheese. Just spinach leaves and boiled chicken. Lovely for the price of a nice salad. Two strikes and you re out. Used to be good - not any more.

This is not a bar yes they have a full bar but its not a bar . The food is Over priced. And I know with COVID everyone is short staffed but I waited 30 mins for a drink, which I ended up cancelling, and then another 30 for a steak. There was only 3 other tables aside from mine. Every person who came in and sat, after I had already placed my order, got there food before me. When my steak finally came, it was cold.

Visited March 28th between 3p and 430p. They weren t busy. No one greeted me or said anything until I spoke first. The bartender was really nice and suggested a few food items. I decided on the grill chicken sandwich. It was dry, messy and unseasoned. They put enough arugula on the sandwich for me to make a side salad. The fries were lukewarm. And it took about 20 mins are longer before the food arrived. I also tried the cornbread that the bartender said was very good. It was good and warm when they served it. Oh yeah the renovations to the place look really nice. They don t have purse hooks at the bar but the place looks way better then it did years ago. I ll give them another try

First time trying this place and Ive got to say, everything was absolutely phenomenal. Soup of the day was Chicken Tortilla soup and it was the best one Ive ever had, sorry for no pics but I was too enamored by the presentation. My brother had the fish special with Cod, garlic butter mashed potatoes, asparagus with parmesan on top and fitted chicken bites & fried shrimp on top. Was definitely pricey but worth the dining experience. We also each had the old fashioned and they were incredible, not too strong, smooth and slightly sweet almost vanilla notes on the end. If you have the chance and arent overly concerned with price, this is definitely a dining experience I highly recommend.
