If you don t want to hug a toilet all day, don t come here. Appetizer was fine, no rice roll fine, but the sashimi came out warm, I was concerned about it because I am familiar with the restaurant business and am cautious of food temps. That was a huge red flag to me as we were dining. We agreed we wouldn t be back after the meal. Lo and behold food poisoning today. Not surprised but definitely disappointed by this establishment. The servers were sweet though.

This is our favorite place to get sushi from or a quick lunch. All of the people giving bad reviews clearly dont eat enough sushi to know any better or understand how restaurants work. Tomo has THEE friendliest staff that is so accommodating. Their food is always fresh and well prepared, the place is always clean, and the ambiance is soothing. The consistency is what keeps us coming back. My favorite is their chicken katsu bento, tomo roll, and fire dragon roll. My husband also loves their sashimi and udon. They do advertise that they are BYOB and to ask them for more details if you need, so all these people mad about not wanting to bring their own are ridiculous because its not uncommon for BYOB to be a thing. If you want great sushi with a sweet staff that truly cares about their customers AND their experience, you need to try this place! It will not disappoint.

Best place around here. You wont beat this quality in the area. They are strictly sushi only, BYOB which is awesome so you can enjoy your own brewskies or wine. (I think its a $5 corking fee for wine). I went in with a lot of skeptism as I am a sushi snob but this place is legit and serves nothing but good quality ingredients. Update 8/13/2024: Got the sashimi and sushi combination and then ordered a few rolls. Best way to go if you want a good variety

Great sushi restaurant, a must try in Flower Mound. Lots of sushi selections along with appetizers and other great menu items. Service is wonderful and the atmosphere is quiet and friendly. Very clean restaurant. Quick service and the sushi chefs do a great job with presentation. Try the Fire Dragon Roll, Luna-Tuna Roll, Ahi Tower. They are all excellent. Miso soup is wonderful.

Small plates reasonably priced. Sushi was decent. Shockingly there is no liquor liscence so no hot Saki. Nothing posted to alert customers in advance. It was FREEZING we could not wait to leave. Bad experience. Way too much mayonnaise sauce on everything not authentic

I generally find Korean sushi places to be substandard, just placing above supermarket sushi, but this restaurant was better than most. They never compare well with Japanese sushi restaurants, but Tomo Sushi was relatively good overall. My only 2 issues were with the miso soup, which had no tofu chunks in it and was just tepid, and the temperature of the sushi, which seemed just slightly below room temperature (I prefer my fish well refrigerated to protect against bacteria). The California roll, IMHO, had a bit too much sauce binding the crab, but thats just my preference. Service was excellent and quick, and the decor is nice. Lunch was a bargain at $11, though I splurged on ika sansai as an extra.

We tried Tomo Sushi for the first time when they had a deal (coupon for a free California roll w/purchase). We were so glad we tried this place! We got the Better Together Roll and a Spicy California Roll... and were too full to order more. I enjoyed watching them make the sushi when I walked up to the bar area. We loved EVERYTHING about this restaurant! It was so warm and cozy inside, the hospitality we received was amazing. This place is a MUST if you live in DFW!!! The best sushi I have ever been able to find! The wasabi and eel sauce are made fresh and you can definitely tell!! I 100% recommend the salmon sashimi with the wasabi! Also- the owners are the ones preparing the food and they really care about getting things back timely! I always hate when restaurants are too dark and play loud music, but it was the perfect atmosphere! Highly recommend!! We have enjoyed sushi for many years at sushi restaurants all over the country and overseas, and Tomo Sushi really ranks at the top of the list. The sushi was so fresh, the service was very attentive and we loved the atmosphere. We started with the calamari tempura- crispy & tender! We had the fatty salmon, fatty yellowtail, and the white tuna sushi - we loved the pickled wasabi on the salmon & yellowtail. First time lunch at Tomo Sushi yesterday and all I can say is wow wow WOW!! To say I m thrilled to find this little gem in Flower Mound is an understatement. Atmosphere was relaxed & casual, service was attentive and friendly, food was exceptional. I ordered the sushi & sashimi lunch bento box which arrived quickly and was probably the freshest and highest quality fish I ve ever had in town. The box also included additional fish besides salmon & tuna (Japanese Snapper!) which was a welcome addition. Not pictured was the miso soup that was included with the bento box, rounding out a very filling lunch meal. The rest of my table ordered a bento box and specialty rolls, all which were excellent. Portion sizes were generous and I ll challenge anyone to find a high quality sushi lunch for under $20!! The sushi chef visited our table twice, once to present the food and another to ensure we enjoyed it. I will definitely return for dinner with my favorite bottle of wine (since it is BYOB), and wholeheartedly recommend this cute little sushi spot! The absolute best in the area!

Excellent all around. This is a nice little restaurant the serves top-quality sushi. This is one of two sushi restaurants we have found that serves true sushi, wasabi between the meat and rice. Our waiter was super friendly and made sure the order was correct when he brought to the table. The atmosphere is relaxing and comfortable. The pricing was very reasonable, especially for O-Toro sushi. Tomo Sushi is better than many larger sushi restaurants that focus more on quantity of customers rather than quality of the food. This is one of two of our favorite sushi restaurants. We will return soon.

My wife and I visited and were very impressed. The service was top-notch, very friendly and helpful staff. The ambience was nice, nothing extravagant but pleasant and low-key. We both ordered off of the riceless menu so we wouldnt be cheating too bad on our dietary plan and the appetizer (monkey brain) was very tasty. Then our rolls came out and both were extraordinary. Our server was a high school student and was one of the most attentive servers weve had in quite some time. He was excellent, on top of things and never left us wanting anything. We decided to try this new joint on a Tuesday night and found it was already hopping when we arrived. They appear to do a great business - bravo to them! We started with the spicy edamame which was very spicy to me but my husband said it wasnt to him. Maybe I was just having an off day but my lips were on fire. LOL My favorite roll is a dragon roll so I always have to try it at any new places we go. It was very good here, not the best Ive had but definitely would order it again. My husband got the rainbow roll and it was also pretty good. They also have some riceless options on the menu. We liked the ambiance and loved the excellent service. They have a bar you can sit at if you would rather do that instead of have a booth or table. The decor is nice, they have a modern staggered wood design on the walls and I love the small bamboo plates and the tiny pitcher for the soy sauce. There are several other items I want to try on this menu so Im looking forward to going back.

We wanted to check this restaurant out for our anniversary lunch. Server was super friendly and attentive. Miso soup was the best we ever had and it is free refill. The appetizer stuffed jalapeno was really good. The chef personally brought the sashimi to us. We ordered toro and salmon belly. To be honest, we had fresher sashimi before. We are really sensitive to smell so we did smell a bit fishy. The dessert mochi icecream was on house since it was our anniversary. Overall, love the environment and people there. Fire Dragon Roll had great flavors and texture. The fish in the Sea World roll was so fresh. Surprisingly, my favorite was the White Tuna roll. It tasted fresh and if you are trying to cut down on carbs like me, you wouldnt know it was riceless. Not pictured here was their gyoza. The kids ate it so fast and was wanting some more. Will definitely go back soon for dine in to try their other items.

I love everything about this place, from the food to the people who work there. Every person there is so friendly and has superb customer service. Its a cozy place to dine in that offers byob. Ive enjoyed every item from their menu so far, and always leave feeling so impressed with how genuinely nice the staff is there... which makes me want to go back again and again, not just for the yummy food but also to support such a great local business. This is definitely my new favorite go-to for sushi in Flower Mound!

The miso soup was one of the best I have had in recent times, we ordered four rolls and chicken gyoza for appetizers for 3 adults and 2 kids. Food was good, one of the rolls felt like it had been sitting out for a bit (the rice was super dry). They did not have fresh wasabi, which I usually prefer over the premade ones. The service was at most a 2 star, I had to keep asking for utensils, then plates, the soy sauce. I guess they are still training their staff in this area. Ambiance was good, they have definitely remodeled the interiors well. Sitting for larger groups might be tough

Staff is very friendly, almost a Cheers like vibe most of the staff had friendly nods smiles and conversation for the customers. Very interested in what liked or didnt and the Toma Sake roll I decided to try was delicious. Unique in that the Tempura shrimp in had obviously been fried fresh and made a nice nice contrast to the cold fish and other ingredients.

Great little place. Excellent sashimi brought out by the sushi chef himself. My husband loved his Texas roll, and the service was friendly, attentive, and quick. We will be back! Vegetarian options: Good options. Dietary restrictions: No tamari/gf soy sauce- if you need it, make sure you bring it!

As soon as I entered the entrance, there was a photo spot in a cafe-like atmosphere, so I took a picture with the groom and a couple of friends after a long time My husband doesnt like Japanese food that much, because hes a bit picky. But, he really loved Tomo roll. He told me several times Tomo roll is very delicious. And I agree with that. We also ate sushi and sashimi. The thickness is just right, and the sushi tastes better because it doesnt have a lot of rice. At the end, I finished with peach tea, but it smelled good and we chatted while creating more cafe atmosphere. Im glad I found a restaurant after a long time. I will definitely go back to eat sushi and sashimi!! I strongly recommend this place. Everyone should go to Tomo sushi.

My family recently visited Tomo Sushi. Upon entering, I was greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The menu was extensive and offered a wide variety of sushi rolls, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes. I decided to start with a classic miso soup and then ordered the Tomo Sushi Deluxe, Seafood Yakisoba and etc.. (Sorry but can t remember the names). The miso soup was delicious, with a rich savory broth. The Tomo Sushi Deluxe was beautifully presented. The Seafood Yakisoba and all other dishes were great too. All the fish used in the sushi was incredibly fresh and flavorful, and the rice was perfectly cooked with just the right amount of vinegar seasoning. The service was excellent, with attentive and friendly staff who made sure we had everything we needed. Overall, I highly recommend Tomo Sushi for anyone looking for delicious and authentic Japanese cuisine in a cozy and welcoming atmosphere.

Our best sushi restaurant! We had Tomo sushi for two and several delicious rolls including Tomo roll. Absolutely amazing! The quality of sashimi was excellent and so fresh. It was my first time to try Ahi Tuna tower and it exceeded my expectation. Everything was perfect. Tomo roll was unique taste with so many flavors. I ll definitely try again. Cant wait to return and wouldnt hesitate to recommend to anyone for great food

This is my new and only sushi place! Great sushi! Freshest, delicate sashimi! I would strongly recommend sushi and sashimi combination menu. The rolls are also fantastic! Heavenly taste! Excellent food quality. Best sushi and sashimi we ever had! We ordered Gyoza and Edamame as appetizers. Fried Gyoza was so crispy and crunchy with tasty juicy meat. Edamame was fresh with delightful sea salt. They were great! We had Don Katsu, Tempura Udon, Californian, Philadelphia, and Tomo rolls for our kids. The kids fell in love with their food. The rolls are melting in our mouths! The highlight was sushi, sashimi, and Ahi Tuna tower! We ordered Tomo sushi for two. Sushi and sashimi are fresh with sensational and subtle flavor; delicately sweet, almost creamy tastes. It was a superb visit! Can t wait to return!

We were going to eat at Fish city when we discovered this place. Today is their soft openning. Right when you walk in, youd notice the modern interior decor, with relaxing music and friendly staff with big smiles. We ordered appetizers: miso soup, shrimp tempura and gyoza 10/10. Miso is made inhouse, very nicely seasoned! Sushi: salmon, yellowtail, unagi and sweet shrimp. 10/10 very fresh! Rolls: Luna-tuna (hubbys fave) and seaworld 10/10 We will definitely be back! Stop by and give them a try!
