Mio Nonno used to be a favorite, but it seems things have changed maybe new ownership? Prices are much higher, the menu has changed, and sadly, the food quality has dropped. It s just not the same place anymore.

I totally adore Mio Nonno Trattoria! When we return to the DFW area, this amazing restaurant is definitely on the repeat-visit list. They have a gluten-friendly pizza that they turned into a vegan masterpiece. Ive not seen or, more importantly, tasted its rival anywhere else. The salads are exceptionally well done, really in a class by themselves. Beet salad cannot be beat (pun forgiveness requested). The gluten-free pasta is excellent. Cannot go wrong with marinara sauce if wishing to avoid meat. I could not more highly recommend! Mio meal with a Lakeside cinema movie to follow was a winning combination. Wished I had pictures to share, but the food made a beeline for my mouth upon being served. Besides, pictures to come in a future post will make a second visit even more likely, and Im counting the days until I can return. Vegetarian options: Great vegetarian options available and customizable. Dietary restrictions: Great gluten-free options! Vegans will also be pleased.

Wow! I have been eating dinner at Mío every Friday night since January upon my return to Texas. I was asked not to return tonight. I asked why ? The answer was not specific and not even general as to what happened? Lakeside has influencers that if they don t like you they will have you black balled from business services. Until tonight I have never been asked to change anything about my conduct in this restaurant. I love this place and its remarkable staff. I m going to miss it and will pray that the ownership will come to their senses. God bless all! Scott

We were hoping for better dining experience as it was our wedding anniversary, in its stead, we ended up finding hair in the calamari. We reported the incident to our server, the server apologized and said the manager will come and see us, manager never showed up nor did the server attempt to do something about it. All the server did was take the calamari off the table, well, thank you for that gesture ! Never will I ever visit again and make sure to spread the word as well.

Maybe my pallet is a little bit demanding since I ve been to Italy a few times and I also live in Miami with hundreds of Italian restaurants, but the flavor itself was normal. Nothing memorable and the prices were $30 per dish, which is acceptable for great flavor, but this tasted more like an $18 dish to be honest, they also have this cone shaped cheese grinder, which is extremely unpractical and the server will take forever to give you a bit of cheese so you re stuck there uncomfortably waiting for once forever to get the amount of cheese you want.

This place was so amazing! I went for a late lunch yesterday and was so completely blown away by the service, the food, the drinks and the atmosphere. Definitely will be returning! Our server was so friendly and attentive. She gave great insight on the food selections we were debating between. By the way, I highly recommend the squid ink pasta! The ciabatta bread is to die for. I d eat that on its own. The chef and crew cooked such delicious food. You could tell there was care put into every dish along with the freshest quality ingredients. Oh, and the drinks are delicious as well. Not too sweet but very punchy. The flavor profiles of the Diavlo pizza were so deep and complex and delicious with a great dough. Just so good. Great for date night. Or just because. I recommend everyone in this area try this place.

My wife and I have been coming here for over a year for our Friday date night. The atmosphere is sophisticated, yet down to earth. You can catch a game and a drink at the bar, or celebrate a special moment in their dining room. The service has always been personable, friendly, and they match your pace. If you are in a hurry, or looking to stretch out the night, this place is can accommodate. Also a special shout out to Adrian - the GM. He has many regulars and still manages to make everyone feel special and important. PS - Haley, Evan, and Sloane are great behind the bar!

What happened to this place? Different owners? Not the same place it used to be. The food is just average. All the good dishes are gone from the menu. Bolognese had almost no meat in it but plenty of big twigs. Flavorless. You have to order an expensive side of pasta to go with Chicken Parmesan. Carpaccio not at all the same or as good. Too expensive for the quality. This will be my last time to dine there. What a shame! This use to be a favorite.

Unfortunately, Mia Nona s isn t what it used to be. No more bread with dipping oil, no cracked pepper or Parmesan. Now, if you want a cup worth of pasta with you chicken parm, you pay an additional $9, making the dish $35. Nothing special about it and Not worth it.

Mio Nonno restaurant is an absolute gem, with a menu that will tantalize your taste buds and leave you craving more. The new menu is a culinary delight, featuring innovative dishes that showcase the chefs creativity and skill. One standout dish is the lemon rosemary half chicken, which is cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. Another must-try is the grilled octopus, tender and flavorful, with a delightful charred exterior. But what truly sets Mio Nonno apart is their hostess, Rose. Her warm welcome and attentive service elevate the dining experience to a whole new level. Roses passion for hospitality shines through in every interaction, making guests feel truly valued and appreciated. If youre looking for a memorable dining experience, look no further than Mio Nonno restaurant.

It was a quiet & rainy Sunday afternoon, my Mother was moving out of town and we were given such a nice memory with Nacho.. he really went above and beyond to pick up our spirits. He went the extra mile to make us smile and made sure we were comfortably enjoying everything - from good conversations to menu suggestions. We had a crisp-crusted pizza and smooth tasting tiramisu that was presented beautifully. Also the jazzy dim-lit ambience was perfect on a rainy Sunday. Only wish we had come to this restaurant sooner.

On december, we went to this place for lunch on friday afternoon.they were only two families including us. We ordered pizza , pasta and some dessert. Unfortunately when we returned back we all got sick including my 2 year old daughter. Am not sure whether it was food or dirty utensils that cause this problem. I called next day and reported this problem but the manager- Adrian was very rude and didnt even listen to our issue- Zero empathy . I asked him owner information and he told that he will make him call us. Till date am following up with these ppl but no response. I have been to this place before and liked the food and had no issues but last December we had issues. If you are looking for great customer service then please dont go to this place not worth spending your time and dime on it. They only care about money but not people health .

I used to love this place. It was disappointing today. Seafood in Chiopino smelled not right. I could tell that Calamari is from a frozen box- I have a picture from couple of years ago when they served excellent calamari, freshly fried. Not any more. Lettuce in the lettuce salad looked lifeless. Coffee tasted like it sat in a pot for quite a while. Cappuccino was that pot coffee mixed with milk I guess, never saw a cappuccino that looked so bad lol. Cannoli, probably from a box, was so hard that we couldn t cut it with a knife or chew it. Cream inside was flavorless, they just covered it with ton of chocolate syrup. They started charging $7 for the bread that used to be complimentary.

The atmosphere is very nice and the food was very good; however, the service was poor at best. The restaurant was not crowded, yet we waited at least 10-15 minutes after we received our drinks before anyone came to take our order. My daughter has to stop a waiter to see if they would take our order. The wait staff only came to our table to bring our food and bring our check. We had to call them over to request anything. No one ever checked to see if our meal was correct or if we needed anything. We were there to celebrate a special occasion and were very disappointed. Weve enjoyed Mio Nonnos in the past and were very surprised at the lack of service.

A friend recently became a server at Mio Nonno, Flower Mound, and I had wanted to try it for quite a while. Our dinner was the most exceptional meal I have had in a very long time. We began with a cocktail from their full bar menu, as well as an unusually nice wine and Italian specialty drink list, including a delicious Peach Bellini, the drink made popular by Harrys Bar in Venice. First, an appetizer of Gamberi Arrabiata, shrimp sauteed in garlic with cherry peppers and a lemon white wine sauce with crostini to soak up the creamy, buttery sauce. Next, I was delighted to find the evening special -- a duck compote -- was the best I had ever tasted. Duck can have a fatty skin, but this was deliciously crisp and flavorful. My partner had a scrumptious lasagne with a sauce that is to die for. A pair of dessert drinks rounded out the meal. Espresso martini -- made using actual espresso, which was a happy surprise -- and a Godiva chocolate martini with shaved chocolate on top. Everything we had was exceptional, and we are sure to return many times to enjoy a pleasurable evening!

This was my second time here. The first time, I loved the food. Im not sure if they have new management or what, but the food was not even close to what we had before. I asked if the salmon was farm raised or wild caught. The manager assured me that if I ordered a specific dish that it was wild caught. When it came out, I could clearly tell that it was farm raised. Maybe he just didnt know the difference. I tried to give it a chance, but it was not flavorful. My date who wanted to go to a different restaurant instead was highly disappointed and wished we had gone to the restaurant he suggested.

Some of the absolute worst food I have ever encountered. The only highlight was the bread which they didn t even have the decency to bring out more when we physically couldn t eat the main course. Stay away from the shrimp pasta unless you want a garlic clove in every bite. I have never once seen so much garlic in a single dish, it was absolutely inedible. They didn t even remove the tail of the shrimp which is exactly what you expect from this low quality, posing Italian restaurant. 20+ dollars for a plate of pasta and you can t remove the tail off the shrimp? The rest of their menu is similarly low tier and full of shortcuts like this. The premade lobster ravioli thing was straight off an American Airlines menu. Stay far, far away if you re looking for anything remotely edible. Especially insulting considering the price. Nice atmosphere.

Had a great lunch here with a group of 8 work colleagues. The veal chop was delicious. The outside furniture wasnt really designed well to join tables together for a group. The chairs are also small. Im a little larger, and couldnt fit all the way in the chair. Was rather uncomfortable.

Made reservations for 7:30, and confirmed. Arrived at 7:25, told to wait at bar for 35 minutes until table would come available. Bait and switched. Went next door to Hanaya for Sushi, seated on arrival. Parking: Easy to park.

Ambiance: 4/5 Waiter Service:4.5/5 Food:4.2/5 Customer service/accommodations: 1.8/5 This place is charming and at a great location. The service was a bit slow but we did have a party of 12, so with reason it was a bit slower than usual. The food is yummy and at a good price point. This is what our table ordered: -calamari - it was ok, a bit overdone; we would probably not order again -carpaccio - this is a must, it was delicious -ciopino - this was a team favorite, (4) people ordered this and we enjoyed it -aragosta - this was a team favorite by far, everyone had a bite and they wanted seconds -tiramisu- this is a must -cannoli/crème brûlée- tried these, and they were ok, probably wouldn t order again I have been to over 180 restaurants in DFW and all different price points. I am a bit disappointed at restaurants that don t accommodate large parties with split checks. With a lot of options for people to choose from, a lot of restaurants bend over backwards to ensure that the customer has an excellent experience (from when they walk in the door to when they payout/leave). My only suggestion is that this restaurant updates their software to accommodate checks for large parties. Sadly, I will not be returning with a large party, which makes me sad since I like to gather people together and show them my favorite spots/new finds. When I got home, It took me approximately 3mins to plug in the items in my computer and compute everyone s checks. I am in shock that a restaurant doesn t give its employees the ability to do this. This wasn t the servers fault so we paid over and above the suggested gratuity because we understand that this is our of their control. I do plan on returning for another dinning experience and giving this place another chance as the food was delicious. I really hope they update their software for large groups.

Mio Nono Trattoria is a beautiful Italian restaurant drenched in natural light and with high ceilings. We ordered calamari which was jumbo size but chewy, and our lasagna was good. What spoiled our dining experience was our arrogant server, Tony, who laughed (!) when we placed our order (two lasagnas). when we got our plates, one was lasagna, but the other one was not lasagna. We waited about 20 more minutes to get our dinner right. He was gone for extended periods of time, and he never apologized.

The food was delicious! Gnocchi, clam linguine, lobster ravioli had the best sauce. The dining experience was a bit difficult; our server was run ragged managing too many tables and was a struggle to get his attention, the belligerent patrons at the bar combined with a fine dining experience of refined Italian food and atmosphere was interruptive and loud.

Very disappointing. Our poor waiter was new and was given 7 tables at once. The food was pretty good but over priced for the amount. And because we had an inexperienced waiter, water cups were empty or sodas never got refilled, and bread was hard to come by. Also half our orders came out incorrect. And one dish was completely cold. Also we had made a reservation, and they still sat us at two separate tables. So in the end the checks came out in two pieces instead of one which was frustrating. The manager ended up helping at the end, which is why there are two stars instead of one. Im not sure its worth the price to go back another time. Although the gnocchi and bread were very delicious, that is where the good news ends. Unfortunately the calamari was chewy and not prepared correctly. The beet salad only has six little beets on it, $13 for a pile of arugula a tiny sprinkling of goat cheese and six tiny pieces of beet. Also the Russia dish was a very small size for the price, and the chicken wasnt cut very well. Overall a bummer of an experience on graduation night. We went with a group, and just our ticket was $80, after a 15% tip, for just my husband and I. When Im going to pay that much for a mail I expect better.

We ordered the linguine alle vongole and the ciopino... The linguine was missing some taste. It tasted like pure clam and lime juice. The ciopino sauce had too much sugar. The sauce was sweet like a Snickers bar. After 5 minutes, I was tired of the meal. The seafood itself was cooked well.

Recommended by a friend and we went for lunch. It was exceptional from the moment we walked thru the door. Not much to look at on outside but lovely once inside! The chandlers sparkle, the awesome tile on floor in bar area, very nice tables, and the patio is very nice! Great Italian bistro chairs make the dining very enjoyable for patio seating Nice appetizers, wine selection and the salads are very large. We had goat cheese, pear and arugula salad and split it and had plenty. I ordered the shrimp pasta dish; outstanding! My husband ordered the chicken , pasta, sundried tomatoes. Perfect dish. Owner was present, which makes for a consistent and well run restaurant. Service was perfect! Our server was very attentive and watched continuously for anything we needed. My tea glass was filled at the correct time! Wood fire pizza oven looked amazing. Next time we will try the pizzas. Napkins are exceptional, everything was clean and shined. Light fixtures and windows! Bathrooms clean and lovely decor. We will return soon and bring friends. **We have returned several times and each time the glass doors and windows are dirty with many fingerprints. Clean them daily or twice a day. Not very appetizing to look at while dining.

We walked in, no host! We count 14 employees walking around and after 10 minutes somebody notes me and said hey we close at 9pm (but was 9:03pm), right away another employee came and said no! Today is Friday and we close at 10 she was chewing gum and level of education zero, nobody say hi how are you welcome in or something like that. She asked us to wait 5 minutes to prepare the table outdoor. After 10 additional minutes another employee (3rd employee) came to us asking if we need a table and I informed her that we was waiting already for a table. At the same time 2 other couples walked in, complained about the service and walked way. The wait was just standing there cus isn t an are to sit while you are waiting. I count 12 tables empty and 14 employees (most of them talking between them/ not working). After 25 minutes we walked way, then we see the host that was supposed to be fixing the table having fun with 3 other people in a table in a corner in the patio area. Just wow! We just bought a house in the area and you just lost a posible loyal customer forever! I wish you luck on your business! I give you just one star cus I can t give 0. You don t represent at all the Italian values and hospitality.

Food and service were good, but I think they were short staffed. Never saw any managers walking around or checking in with customers. Sat on the patio. In need of a major cleaning! The floor, mat in front of the door, the doors, the windows, and all window sills were extremely dirty. A child spilled their dinner on the floor. After they left, it took the staff about 30 minutes to finally pick it up.

Chicken milanesa was way too thin and at one end required a chain saw to cut through it. It was served with a bed of arugula which my fault I didnt realize as I had ordered the arugula salad. Needless to say I have had enough arugula for a while. The young waitress was ok, but needs more training taking orders and follow through to ensure requests for food preferences are observed. Will I be back...probably not. But nice try anyway.

3/18/22. 5:45pm reservations for 2: $120 tab with 20% gratuity. Food was excellent as usual, and our server, the table buser and even the hostesses were very good and non-intrusive. However, charging $3 for a refill on a coke, is a bit too much I get that w/ the current inflation rate and whatnot, that thin margins are even thinner, but there is no way a refill of a large water-sized glass of fountain-based coke costs $3 . Just sayin

The food here is delicious and looks fancy. Everyone at the table liked their meals. There werent many gluten friendly options, but I did alright with adding chicken to a salad. The server was friendly but did not automatically refill drinks unless we requested. Also, the lunch menu is not available on Sundays, just the brunch menu, which was disappointing for one guest who wanted a meatball sub.
