This trail was fun and felt like you were off the beaten path even though there were houses around. Pretty overgrown at parts and the creek was pretty flooded so we couldnt do the full loop. The creek was covered in algae which looked cool but smelled bad. Saw snakes, spiders, a turtle, and some birds. Not a trail we would probably do again but it wasnt horrible.

This trail is beautiful! Worth it! It s like a little slice of Grapevine lake heaven. People go out on their horses on this trail. Beautiful views of the lake, a winding creek along the way, sandy trails part of the way, other parts more rocky, like the real hiking you crave from hill country. It s tucked behind a nice neighborhood of beautiful houses. We saw several blue herons and stayed to watch the sunset over the lake. Secluded and fun! Couldn t believe this was in Flower Mound! Parking: It s a side lot on the side of the road. Unmarked.

The trail is mostly non-existent unless the water is low. It provides a break from the surrounding trails that are frequently used by horseback riders. If you can find your way through the thick brush, then youll find a decent sand bar at the end.

Fun trails for biking or walking (even running). I would not consider this a hike or climb as you may see in some reviews as its very light elevation. You can get some great lake views at spots and theres open spots (hot weather warning), but also some shaded spots as well.

I love this trail, I ve taken all of my dogs there except for my newest addition. It is quite the hike back in to the woods, and slightly feels like you re tromping through backyards, but it is well worth it for the creeks and trails. Parking: A lot off the side of the road, honestly the only way to find the trail head. Fees: Free for public use. Toilets: No restrooms. Unless you count a creek or tree. Dog-friendliness: Great trail for dogs!

This is one of the best hiking trails in this area where you don t have to drive far to escape into nature. The trails are a bit overgrown in places, which can cause you to lose the trail, but it is part of the fun. After hiking a bit on the trail, you can see and access the lake. Great place to fish or just hang out by the water in an area that doesn t see crowds. Such a beautiful and fun trail!

This is one of the best hikes in Flower Mound. Theres a surprising variety of terrain, decent shade, some nice cascades along the creek, a more river like setting as the creek heads towards Lake Grapevine, with some scenic views of Lake Grapevine - all within a relatively short hike. Its rarely overcrowded and mountain bikers are not allowed on this trail, so you dont have to compete with bikers like you do on the Northshore Trail.

Beautiful and quiet. Took me 20 mins to locate the entrance, which is just at the right hand side of the parking lot.

Great trail but could use a little grooming and signs. Is this something the corps of engineers could do? This is near the central part of the lake or end of trail.

Very nice trail. This is what i expect trails to be like not ones that are near or at a park.

The parking lot is very small and you may miss it. The beginning is very steep but after that its pretty easy to hike. The beach is very rocky and I wouldnt recommend swimming. Its free so that is a bonus. Its about 4 miles both ways so bring water

Nice park but hard to find. Small parking lot and trail sign is far right behind a tree. First 1/8 mile is downhill and gets narrower until is about 12 feet wide. Then it opens up. Some steep( for an old man) and muddy. Multiple creek crossings.

Very remote and beautiful trail hidden in the hills above grapevine lake. Enjoyed the paths that loop around giving the return trip a new view!! Entrance to trail is easy to miss just look across from the intersection of High and Sunnyview

Nice pretty easy trail. Trailhead parking is off High Road and Sunnyview. About 25 min from trailhead to the lake at an easy pace. Remember your turnoffs though, it s not the best marked trail.

Loved it here! Ill forewarn you though, we ran in to both a Water Moccasin and Copperhead on these trails, just chillin. The paths are really overgrown in quite a few places so Id advise you to grab your trekking poles or a nice long stick to check the overgrowth across the trail before you hike through it. The Water Moccasin we ran in to was in the middle of the trail near the lake and was difficult to see from all the overgrowth. We also saw rabbits, deer and plenty of bugs out and about! If youre looking for a trail that doesnt get many visitor and really puts you out there, hang in there and push past the houses you mostly see along the first 3/4 of a mile or so because this one was fun! It has a few ups and downs but nothing too strenuous, great views of the lake and all the shade you could ever ask for.

A bit overgrown and snake-y boys so make sure to wear pants, but overall a great hike; changes in scenery, hills to climb and streams to cross!

Very good natural hike thru a beautiful area. Parking area off High Road. Best hiked in winter when high weeds are down. Trail loops to high ridge with geocache. Can follow trail all the way to Grapevine Lake.
