I wish I had done my research before hiring her for a maternity photo shoot. She basically disappeared, didn t answer phone calls or emails. It took almost a year to get our album which was of the worst quality.

I got a gift card from El Paso Portraits for a make over and a photoshoot for two people. My friend and me got beautiful pictures from the shoot, the shoot was fun and April had a lot of ideas. Thank you for the great pictures!

April review I recently found myself needing a dependable and experienced photographer in the El Paso area on behalf of a business event there, and after many phone calls found April at El Paso Portraits. She was immediately upbeat, positive and ready to assist on short notice. She told me about her military background and indeed she was early to the job and super well prepared, going beyond the call of duty in terms of the details and proceeded to make a very good impression along the way!!

I took pictures three weeks ago and she told me she would send me my photo preview through a new email app shes trying. I didnt get it. Ive been calling, emailing the website and went to her store. She has failed her customers for not telling us if shes on vacation or out of town. I want my pictures or my money back.

Not worth the money I paid. The studio was filthy, photos were plain, did not touch up photos as she said she would. Although April was very nice, her studio was dingy and she had several equipment malfunctions. Photos were plain and lacking creativity. There are about 3 photos out of many that I really love, whish was not worth the money I spent. I showed her some inspiration photos, which she did not consider when shooting. I was looking forward to some of that photographer creativity but was disappointed. Again, personally shes very sweet... professionally, Id recommend shopping around.

My husband and I took our little one year old to take Christmas pictures with April. She is a great photographer, extremely professional, patient, and nice . And will definitely be back in spring to take more pictures of our little one !! Very happy with our pictures yay !!! :)

April has been amazing for my family and me. I use her back in March for my family photos that included my husband, 16 year old, toddler and 4 dogs in Memorial Park. She was on time, I was late and lost but she was patient. I got extremely frustrated with my my toddler and my dogs but April told me to calm and to step away and she would capture a good picture. Well that is exactly what she did, I dont know how she did it but she captured our family beautifully. The only problem I had is that yes it did take a while for me to receive the pictures, and some times it was really hard to get ahold of her. For the sesson and the photos it came out to about $400 but she let me make 3 payments. Yes it was expensive but worth it! I decided to use April again for the free Birthday session for my toddler in October. Let me tell you, she did such a prefect job capturing my daughters lovely personality. It was about a 30 minute session and she use every minute. Again, my daughter was not listening, keep trying to play, wouldnt stand still and I started to get frustrated. And again April said Mom sit down let me handle this. April did a super job with my daughter and I was not let down. This time around I got the pictures much faster and I have never had any contacting issues with her since then. The price for this was $250 but again I am using the 3 month payment plan. If anything I HIGHLY recommend April to take your childrens photos because she has a way with kids that I havent seen with many photographers and Ive used JCpennies, Kmart and Sears and they have nothing April when it comes to taking photos of your kids!

She wasnt where we agreed to meet and confused my session for someone else, then after waiting for an hour for her to set up (only because I had my toddler dressed up) she rushed me through the session. We had previously discussed what I wanted and I was so disappointed with the results.she canceled on our viewing - I ended up buying all the photos only because I couldnt bear the thought of not keeping them- but her prices were ridiculous. Also I have not received my print which was part of the session even though I called to remind her and was promised delivery over two weeks ago- buyer beware with this one.

BELIEVE THE REVIEWS!! El Paso Portraits (April D. Melton) will STEAL your money, not return phone calls and not give you your photos. For all of the good reviews written, you find an equal number of bad reviews saying the same thing that happened to us. Horrible thing is she did this with our WEDDING photos! Nearly made us late for our own ceremony, did not show up early to capture the getting ready as promised, did not take pictures of what we asked for-family and friends. Blamed this on us not introducing her to people while we were getting married....WHAT? REALLY??!!. She took plenty of pictures of the decorations (WHY???) Only sent us proofs after my husband went to her office after her dodging our phone calls and emails for months. Now, because we asked for a partial refund, she has blocked our access to the online proofs even though we have paid in FULL. What kind of person does this? Wish we would have done our homework before hiring her, we would have seen all of the BAD reviews. After posting a review ourselves, we received so many messages from other customers and even fellow photographers who have similar experiences with her. Her Better Business Bureau rating is an F. How is someone like this still in business?

When my husband passed away we had a beautiful military ceremony at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. I spoke with April Melton of El Paso Portraits and she came through with flying colors on photographing this special and memorable time in our lives with beautiful photos of the ceremony, the people attending, the soldiers, and a video that will remain in our hearts and souls forever. She is a selfless individual and she came to be with us in our time of need and did all this on her BIRTHDAY... You should call her business and let her capture your memories. This Lady is a Joke!!!!!! I paid her money to take photos of my newborn child and she HAS NOT/WILL NOT return my calls, txts, or emails. I hope the word gets out about her soon, she doesnt need to be taking peoples money and not delivering the pictures as promised. I will be sure to contact Ft. Bliss directly and let them know the scam that this lady is running. Horrible to think that she will take advantage of soldiers like this... Beware People

We paid April $300 to get family pitcures done before my daughter went off to college and now she has not given us any of the pictures or refunded any of the money she took from our account. She says she is in the National Guard but she is not. I also just found out that JAG has been trying to get a hold of her due to she has screwed over several other military families and JAG is trying to help those families get their money back as well. She keeps sending back their notices and refuses to accept them by registered mail. She is very shady so BEWARE SHE IS A VERY BAD PERSON TO DEAL WITH SHE WILL SCREW YOU OVER IF GIVEN A CHANCE.
