I used to enjoy eating here. But for some reason their service is absolutely horrible! The music was entirely too loud. The DJ and mariachis were a nice flavor. We went there for a birthday party and the birthday girl was the last to receive her food. 1 hour after everyone else received theirs. When we asked the manager about it, he stated that it is what it is and that they are not in the business of comping meals for any situation. The food was honestly not worth the hassle either. Hard pass for sure moving forward!

2.5 star experience on Sat Aug 10th, 2024. We stopped for dinner after 6p.m. Was steady, not too busy or slow. We had ordered Agua Frescas (Horchata). Was good, but needed more ice to be more refreshing. We ordered the parrillada for 4 people (carne asada & al pastor). We got 2 sides. Charrobeans (which were super cold) & the baked potato (which were cold as well). We also included the queso fundio with chorizo. The carne asada & al pastor was good. What I love about the al pastor was they cook on a trompo, which a lot of places dont do anymore. The tortillas to use to make tacos were a bit cold as well. A local band started performing a bit before we left. We understand places have an off day & we will give another try & hope to have a better experience

My husband and I have been all over Mexico, have eaten the best mexican food you can possibly imagine. This was the worst. The service was impeccable and the atmosphere was awesome. Bad place. Ordered 6 tacos al pastor for $16!!! They were tiny and came with no pineapple... Also got the frijoles charros and what a disappointment. They served them in the smallest bowl they could find. There was literally 10 beans in the bowl and it cost $4. The place was smoky as hell and there was this annoying employee that kept ringing a stupid little bell incessantly. They also charged us a gratuity fee of 15%. Needless to say, i will not be going back. Ever!

We went to eat with my family one day, my children came from Dallas and his wife wanted Mexican food.. bad experience, no one served us. In the end, they brought us the food and it was horrible.. the bad thing was that they were leaving that same day and on the plane. They were bad the entire flight. And those of us who stayed here had to go to the hospital. The other son was super sick with his stomach for almost a month. He was extremely underweight and the discomfort was so bad that he had to go to the hospital and it took him several months to recover. The food is in poor condition or they definitely do not have cleanliness when handling the food. We will never go there again. I do not recommend it.

My Sister, Son and I arrived at 4:45 PM on a Friday and asked if they could serve a party of 10. They asked if we had reservations, and we said we had not made any. We noticed there were several tables with names and times on them. We thought for sure we were out of luck. Nope, they quickly pulled two tables together and seated us. Waitress took our drink orders while we waited for the rest of our party to arrive. As the other guests began to arrive, she took their drink orders and immediately brought them out. Once everyone arrived, we had 19 people, and our waitress never skipped a beat. They pulled two more tables together, and we ordered appetizers and some ordered entrees. It was a wonderful experience. The food was delicious, service was excellent, and the ambiance was exceptional. Highly recommend this restaurant.

I ordered the tacos al pastor and a shrimp cocktail and what is the cabbage, the cilantro and the radishes were dry as if they were days old and the meat of the tacos was pure skin, it looked like chicken and had no flavor and the shrimp were dirty, no They cleaned them, all of this led to tremendous diarrhea and vomiting that lasted 1 week and I had to go to the Dr. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT!!!

Pretty nice and calm place but the food was horrible. Nothing like Mexican food. We went and got the valentines parrillada and I was honestly expecting more of the meat. It was super dry and the food came out super cold. It was late so we decided to not say anything and just eat so we could leave. The waitress was ok but didn t really bother to come and check on us only like two times and after that she disappeared. Only go there for the parrilladas. One feeds a family of 4. Edit: Service and food has gone downhill. Sadly, it was our last time visiting. We go out to eat very frequently, and we have seen prices go up as everything else, but this place is overcharging for the quality of food. We paid 60+, for 2 adults, 2 kids, not counting drinks, and food was mediocre. We got out still hungry. Servers and managers were having a meeting next to us, talking about dessert sales, very unprofessional. The place was almost empty, they couldve seat anywhere else. My best advice? Go on a Friday night and be sure to go a little earlier than 8pm in order to not only hear the live mariachi music but also enjoy your food because it does get packed. Mediocre at best. Food is a far cry from good. We had Tacos al pastor, the meat was so fried it was hard to chew. (Al pastor meat not supposed be fried). I also order soft tripitas and again super hard and over fried. Tortillas on the tacos were soggy and would come apart. The place is also full of smoke and you will walk out smelling like fried food. Unfortunately unless you are a true Mexican you will not know how bad this place can be. I would rate this place 5 out of 10. I have to say the service was great!

Ive come to Ay Cocula several times, but on January 8, their service stood out more than usual. The family went out to celebrate the wifes birthday, and wont say my wife as that implies possession of a human being. Anyways, our server for the day made sure that we were comfortable without the knowledge of it being wifes bday. We were seated, greeted, and serviced with beverages, chips and the most delicious assortment of salsas (especially the salsa negra). Great people skills led to good conversation with our server. Wife ordered enmoladas, which were delicious! Daughter got the childrens cheeseburger meal, which was more than delicious, as my daughter rarely eats but nearly finished her meal. I ordered the enchiladas and half pound of barbacoa (given that they ran out of menudo :( that day) Needless to say, the enchiladas were a reminder of food made by my mom when I was younger. The family and I enjoyed the environment and the vibes for that day, as the server casually asked the purpose of our visit and I answered, Celebrating wifes bday! A few minutes we were greeted with a bday announcement by several staff making the night more enjoyable and my wife got to hit a piñata! Service, food, and the environment were amazing. Definitely recommend this place to come eat with the family.

The food was delicious but the service was Bad. We were having to ask the waitress for everything. Our order was not complete . We ordered six pack of tacos and brought us four packs. When paying, they wanted to charge my friend for a bake potato when he never got it. The food was very delicious though.
