My husband and I came for a late lunch on a weekday. We were seated right away and our server was great. We got the Block Tacos for appetizer which was a looot and delicious. It filled us up even before our main dishes arrived. We got the shrimp tacos and chicken burger, both were pretty good. They have a good variety of drink options on tap.

We had a large group and were not informed of the inability to split check more than twice at the time of reservation. I ordered a meal without onions. When I finally got my meal they had provided the order with the potatoes mixed with the onions. I was asked if that was okay. I informed the server that I didn t want any onions at all and he stated he would check if they could redo the order with no onions. It was a very odd experience overall. Will not be returning.

We have visited Block - Table & Tap several times, and while the food was generally good, our last two experiences have been quite disappointing, leading us to decide never to return. Our first negative experience was a few months ago during a dinner for a table of eight. The menu was significantly limited due to numerous items being unavailable or having run out for the night. Additionally, the staff seemed in a rush to close the restaurant and began cleaning while we were still eating, which made for an uncomfortable dining experience. Our final visit was this morning for brunch. We were a party of four and wanted to order coffee, only to be informed by the waiter that there was no coffee available in the restaurant. Furthermore, they were out of potatoes, which was a key ingredient in one of the dishes we wanted to order. Given these issues, we decided to leave without eating. Due to these repeated disappointments, we will not be returning to Block - Table & Tap.

This was my 2nd visit with a large group here. Both times it took 45 minutes for our 15 top to receive our meals. Both times the dining room area was too hot/stifling. Even though we arrived at 12:30 we were told we couldn t order lunch until 2:00. Our server was very scattered and even though reservations were made prior, we were told, once we started ordering, that our bill could not be split among us. In other words, without advanced notice, one of our friends had to pay the entire $400 tab! We are all never going back there again. Worse dining experience ever. Vegetarian options: Very limited

Ive frequented Block for years. Lately something has been going on and this will be my last time going. The first time, I ordered a flatbread it and came without half of the ingredients listed, and the server said nothing about it. I let it slide and tried again. Today I ordered a regular margarita and asked if I could have jalapeno muddled (as Ive done every single time) I was charged $12 for one of their specialty cocktails without my knowledge when I only wanted the $8 margarita. Bartender and server were both rude about it. Not sure how two slices of jalapeno = $4, Id be less irritated if I was told before hand that there would be an extra charge as there never was one before. Pretty disappointing.

I m a regular at this place. I may call South Florida my home, but I m a regular in El Paso, Texas and a big fan of this restaurant. Tonight most of the food was amazing, but I didn t like the Cuban sandwich, as I felt it was a tad dry and lacked the it factor that characterizes this place. The good news is that what was written in the the previous paragraph has been the only time I ve had something I did not like. My mom had a burger, which she described as one of the best burger s she s ever had. I had several items and loved every single one more than the other. I had stuffed jalapeños and they were fiery hot and tasty. I then ordered the salmon with chorizo basmati rice and pepitas, and it complemented very well. But the best part was The cocktails prepared by the restaurant s lead mixologist, were superb. Try the grapefruit mojito. I come here so often that I don t even take food pictures anymore, but just take my words for it I highly recommend it. Parking: Depending on the day you go, parking could be a little challenging.

UPDATE: I gave it another shot and somehow the service was even worse than before. Thankfully, the previous manager with the glasses wasn t there, but it seems like they replaced him with a clone because the new one wasn t much better. The whole staff seemed lost and it wasn t the same without my usual servers. I don t think I ll ever be going back :( Good food, sometimes good service. The new manager with the glasses doesn t care about customers, lacks social cues, and makes insensitive comments to staff and guests. He makes me very uncomfortable. Definitely shows lack of presence from the owner.

Went for brunch this weekend and the guy serving us seemed like he had no training. We saw him sitting at the bar and on his phone. Asked him questions and his answers seemed like guesses. Service was terrible, food was terrible, and the AC doesn t work. If you re a business in El Paso you need to plan ahead for summer if your ac isn t working so unless you wanna feels boils forming under your clothes I d say stay away!

My husband and I come here often when we are in the area. It is our favorite spot. We get a cool drink and great food everything. Reliably delicious. Weve had as wonderful an experience with the waiters as with the food. We couldnt decide on a wing sauce, so they let us have a small sample of the ones we thought wed like most. Vegetarian options: Mainly diverse and creative salads, but a couple of substantial main dishes that sound good.

Delicious, chill, and attentive staff. I had the chicken tacos and they were fantastic. My wife had the lamb burger and she loved it. The experience was really positive. The only thing that was a detractor was the Tortilla chips (made there!) were a little chewy. My preference is for really crispy ones. They still tasted good, just kind of tough. I would still highly recommend this place and I have no doubt that next time if I ask for crispier chips they will do that for me (this based on their willingness to make other accommodations they made for us on this visit.)

Took my cousin here for her birthday, bartender was too busy talking to someone to even make our drinks after 15 minutes. Waitress never came back to the table so we could order anything. Manager watched us walk out and didnt say anything. Skip this place and go to the Piedmont. They saved the day.

Ive been here many times in the past and the food was always delicious. This past time when my wife and I went the food was terrible. She got the chicken salad sandwich and it was all pecans and cranberries. Its hardly had any chicken! She said it was way too sweet. I got the brisket sandwich and it was dry. The meat didnt have any sauce on it at all.

First time at this establishment and I was very pleasantly surprised. The service was exemplary from the second we walked in to the recommendations of the staff on drinks. They were all very helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. There are several local beers available on tap that paired nicely with the wide range of menu options. The ceviche was absolutely delicious and the serving size was stellar for the price. Everything was clean and tidy. The manager was as attentive and hard-working as his staff which was refreshing also. I will definitely be back!

Crispy, golden fries topped with a perfectly poached egg that oozes creamy goodness with every bite. Its a culinary masterpiece in a bowl! I really appreciate, Andrea, who whipped up the most tantalizing hibiscus margarita Ive ever tasted. Each sip was a burst of tangy sweetness with just the right kick to keep things interesting. We went for a drinks after work (3ppl) and when we got there there were maybe 3 tables and one person at the bar. We were told to pick a table. Took a while for them to comeback after they dropped off water. When they finally did take our drink order and appetizer order. We received our appetizers before the drinks. It took 20 minutes for our drinks to arrive and they were not that good. For the price not worth the long wait. We left and went down the street.

Went on a Sunday evening to try it out there were literally 8 customers. It took 40 minutes to get some chips, queso (bland) and salsa ( was ok but nothing special either). We had ordered some lobster Mac and cheese and a burger. After glaring at my burger under the heating lamp for a good 20 minutes ( that s the beauty of an open kitchen- you can actually see what s going on) we decided to cancel our order and leave. The tab for two French martinis and chips, queso and salsa was $30.31. Not worth the price. Our first experience was very disappointing:(

Disappointing. Ive been here for brunch and its been good, but we went recently for lunch and it was terrible. The server seemed lost. The food was awful. Mussels had no broth and were so salty I couldnt eat them. The toasted bread was just soggy with butter and salty too. The grilled cheese bread was hard and the cheese was hard and cold. Sodas were so syrupy and flat we sent them back. We probably wont be back unfortunately.

Came from Horizon to eat here as this place was the place to go for brunch. As it s been a while since I ve been I decided to go today was was very disappointed. There was around 4 tables and we waited 45 minutes to get our food. Once we got our food they missed items on our plate, and food was very bland. They recently revamped their menu and its clear theyve put in the work. I had the prawns on top chorizo basmati rice. Incredible dish. Refined in its simplicity with just the right amount of flavors. My lunch partner had the beet salad which was fresh and delicious. Little goat cheese bombs all throughout that were absolutely divine. If you havent been to Block in a while, make your way. Youll be pleasantly surprised.

I wouldnt even give this place 1 star. We went in with my daughters volleyball team for brunch. Waited about half hour to even order food, and wasnt asked if we wanted anything to drink. Food took forever, as we waited over 2 hours, and still never received all our food. Majority of the food that did come out was cold and some inedible. We expressed that we needed to hurry it up a bit, as the girls had a tournament to get to, and the waitress did not care, and never showed one ounce of sympathy. Then I asked for a manager and was told there was not one there, when suddenly a man came out and claimed to be the manager. He did however take care of the issues, and removed most of the food that wasnt eaten or never received, but the fact that we still had to pay full price and give the server a $50 tip, blew my mind. The manager was full of excuses, which is not what we were looking for. We wanted a resolution, and some ownership, but unfortunately, this just didnt happen. I will NEVER recommend this place to anyone! This place just simply doesnt care, and honestly, I dont know how they are still open.

My wife and I tried to have Sunday brunch there today .arrived at 11:30. At 1:15 we still had not been served our food!? Finally just left our server was nice and tried blaming it on the cooks being backed up but it wasn t very busy and they had 3 cooks on duty! We went to eat brunch last Sunday for my birthday because a previous visit was good. However, this table of 5 waited over an hour to get our food. Then when we got our food, it was cold. I got chilaquiles as did another guest and they were hard and cold. The eggs were warm but not cooked as requested. It was not busy although it may have been previously. There were 5 tables at the time. So very disappointing. Not a memorable birthday and a $150 bill for cold food which they took $11 off. We will not return.

Dead on a Friday night. Was concerned. I know why. The wings were $15 for 6 wings. Overpriced, not worth it. Ordered the pepperoni flatbread and I legit felt like I was served a kids meal. Sauce tasted like a canned ragu Brand sauce and pepperoni was rubber. The food here is not worth the price at All and we will not be returning or recommending unless there is a solid explanation for this food on a Friday night when the restaurant is empty

DO NOT go here if you have somewhere to be after. Poor server/waitress didn t have help. Had a reservation and was there 2 whole hours. Food was cold, they didn t know how to separate checks saw my food in the kitchen sitting under the lamp for twenty minutes before it came out. Unfortunate. Do not recommend and will never go back. Manager couldn t even talk with us, walked away and left waitress to speak to us. Coward. Unfortunate, I love El Paso food.

The reason for this review and I appreciate you wanting feedback was the service or lack there of. Took a while for us to have server come to the table. Asked about some items not on menu that were previously were not there. She didnt seem very engaged. Said Ill give you more time left without even taking drink orders. I understand during this trying time we need to limit certain items but the service was extremely off putting especially since we wanted to have a nice brunch for our wedding anniversary. I am the first to give kudos to a job well done and really dont like giving someone a 1 star because of maybe a bad outing but this has been twice in a row and soured us. Still its a beautiful place and I wish the drink menu and food menu was a bit more lengthy. We wont abandon this place but it will take a bit of time to try again. FYI my wifes fav was the breakfast quesadilla again its the service that took it down to 3. I hope this was useful and again appreciate the wanting info back

We been here plenty of times for some reason the service was not good the server took a long time to take our order and our food took 45min-1hr to get, and we order simple food, a salad, and nachos. The salad had bad avocado and bad greens the nachos the tostadas were burned. Service was excellent, but the food was mediocre at best. My partner had a burger and it was....fine? The bun was the only thing that was notable. I wanted the buratta, but the didnt have it. I ended up with the totchos. They were very disappointing. I expect more from a queso in this part of the country, it really just tasted like salty, melt cheese, no chiles or anything. The portion was way too much for how heavy they were, theyd be better on the small plates. The cocktails were also only okay. The flavors sounded good, but theyre not well balanced at all. Overall, a pretty disappointing experience.

Food was okay, probably would never get the tuna again. The tuna had a lot of silver skin left, not their fault but may want to get a new supplier. My issue was gratuity was pre-added for only 5 people (3 adults and 2 children). Typically, and according to the note at the bottom of the menu it should be added to 6 or more. It is kind of tricky because when the credit card invoice comes out, it doesn t mention gratuity was added. The credit card slip actually gives the option to add more pre calculated gratuity. It is very easy to double the gratuity if you don t pay attention. It s unethical to sneak in gratuity on a party of 5 and then try to get customers to add in additional gratuity.

10/10 went during brunch, and let me just say the freshly squeezed pineapple juice was perfection! We also had their avocado toast for appetizer which was very flavorful. Service was wonderful and quick. The fried chicken and gravy covered biscuits were amazing! Haven t had such a good Texan breakfast staple here in El Paso! Definitely would recommend!

For a bar and restaurant, it was much better than the name suggests! The drunken mussels were delicious, and the portion size was perfect. The brisket could have been a little juicier, but overall the flavor of the brisket tacos was excellent. The handcrafted cocktails were also very tasty. I would definitely come back!

I have been to this restaurant numerous times. Each time I was very satisfied with the food. Though more often than not I have had a bad encounter with service here. Just recently I had to walk out because we had not been served nor even asked if we would like water. The previous time before that I watched 3 other customers get their food before us even though they sat after me. (Turns out our order was never put in, over an hour wait since our food had been ordered, we were comped but still come on) This restaurant has fumbled the ball on more than one occasion with me. Both occasions the restaurant was not busy whatsoever. Just a poor experience. Hit or miss.

Stopped by for a quick lunch. Had a seat at the bar and the service was great. Nice place that was clean and had a nice atmosphere. The beer I had was good and they have a decent selection. I ordered the fried calamari. It looked good but was way over cooked and so hard to chew. The burger was alright, nothing special. Still a cool place to have a drink.

Service was not ok. We had asked for another minute but 15 went by and finally we had to flag someone down to start our orders. Appetizers were good/decent but main dishes lacked season on the shrimp (tacos) and the lamb (burger). Fries and brussels sprouts were about the only things seasoned well. Nothing exceptional. Not planning to go again.

Had brunch with my family for my sisters birthday and the food was very good. I ordered the chicken and waffles. The chicken was cooked well it wasn t dry. The gravy was great and the waffles were good too. Chicken fried steak was also order and the portion was huge. My daughter ordered the lobster Benedict I think and everyone was happy with their dishes. Will definitely return

Tommy was a wonderful bartender and server! My husband, who lived in Tampa for many years, really enjoyed the Cuban and Chips and I loved the Mussels and herb seasoned Baguette. We live in Las Cruces and will recommend your restaurant to our friends!! Thank you!

I have always liked this place but our experience was pretty bad. Brunch at noon and they don t even have sodas. Ordered appetizers and they didn t have clean plates so they gave us paper boats. Took a birthday cake and again, paper boats. Hopefully they make changes quick

The totchos are to die for if you are looking for a good fatty food which I always am. Its definitely a winner as far as spins on traditional nachos go. Fred was awesome. He had great service and an amazing personality with a lot of gusto. Definitely the busiest bee in the building. Great and friendly atmosphere. Whether coming alone or with friends/family, I highly recommend this spot!

Ordered their Honey Pecan Chicken Salad Sandwich, the mixture of honey, pecan, celery, raspberry, and chicken is a refreshment for your Saturday morning. It wasnt absolutely horrible, but it was still very disappointing. Pretzel appetizer seemed like a supermarket-bought frozen pretzel brushed with butter, and the margarita flatbread also tasted straight out of the freezer section. My wifes Moroccan lamb burger came out without hummus or sauce (that is, it was just a patty, cucumber, and tomato). Our server was nowhere to be found, so after a few minutes we informed another staff member; by the time the sauce came out the burger was cold. The hummus never came out at all. Our server was friendly enough, though he disappeared for long stretches of time into the kitchen. We were sitting pretty close to the kitchen by the way, where loud music was playing featuring plenty of obscenities. Thats not something that I care too much about personally, but it was annoying to consistently hear two different songs playing at the same time from the kitchen and from the dining rooms sound system. To sum things up, though it wasnt a full-blown disaster or anything, the experience was lousy enough that I definitely dont see myself ever going back. Kid-friendliness: No kids menu and no high chairs.

The empanadas tasted as if the cook just took them out of the freezer and warm the empanadas in the microwave. The music in the kitchen was so loud; we couldn t hear the music in the restaurant. The pastrami sandwich was very dry. We had a bad experience overall.

Tried this place for the first time, cool atmosphere and good music playing. There are a lot of beers on tap and a big selection of food. I got the Chile Verde Benedict (pictured half eaten) and thoroughly enjoyed it. The wife got biscuits and gravy and ate it all before I could take a picture. Some useful information: the kitchen apparently is closed between 215-315 which I didn t see on the website.. maybe it s on there somewhere. TLDR: good food, good atmosphere. I ll be back.
