Ive always had positive experiences. There are so many hard-working cooks. Dont forget to tip. Vegetarian options: There are many veggies if you dont mind a little cross contamination. All items are cooked in the same place. My husband is not vegetarian, but he loves it because he gets control of the ingredients.

If you like trash food, trash service, and love finding hair on your food- this is the place for you! First of all employees were rude - got over it- proceed to eat my meal and end up getting a yummy surprise- a damn hair. Ruined my appetite/experience, asked for a refund and Frank (manager) refused. On top of that I heard 2 girls (employees) allaegedly talking about one of there managers harassing them, must ve been the reason why they were rude, poor girls. Moral of the story do not come here!!

Good ole Khans. My son was hungry and suggested it. Turned out great. I love my veggies and pork strips. Added some jalapeños and red chili flakes. Spicy but not too spicy. Good enough for this gringo! Staff was on point too. We didnt have to ask for anything. They were making sure we had beverages and Togo cartons if needed. Vegetarian options: Tofu for protein and various stir fry veggies.

I came here for lunch with the little lady. You start off by putting the ingredients you want into a bowl. It s set up like a buffet or cafeteria style. There are warnings that if you overfill the bowl they will charge you extra. They don t say how much is too much, or how much they charge you. Then you hand the food to the chef and they cook it up for you. The cook had on a mask and I couldn t understand what he was asking, something about oil, and I just said whatever he thinks is best. Then you wait for the food, the waitress takes the food and then they deliver it to a table and then it s like a regular sit down restaurant. The food was good, I think they should do a better job explaining what they expect for the newbies there. Overall, it seems a little spendy, we got two drinks and it was over $35. Everything nowadays seems to be over $12 per person even at the cheap fast food places. I would go back again.

I recently dined at Kahns Grill and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. Not only did I encounter issues with the billing process, but the overall quality of the food left much to be desired. Firstly, the tip had been adjusted to 20% after the charge was settled with my bank, which is completely unacceptable. This deceptive practice undermines trust and leaves a sour taste in the mouth. To add insult to injury, the food itself was mediocre at best. Considering the concept of the restaurant, where customers serve their own ingredients and stand in line to have their meal prepared, one would expect a higher standard. However, the quality of the ingredients and the execution of the dishes fell short of expectations. Furthermore, the mandatory tipping policy feels unjustified given the self-service nature of the establishment. Customers are essentially doing a significant portion of the work themselves, yet still expected to tip generously for what amounts to a lackluster dining experience. Given these issues, I opened a dispute with my bank regarding the billing discrepancies. I cannot in good conscience recommend Kahns Grill to others until these issues are addressed and rectified.

It s annoying having to deal with men who act all macho around a gay guy. Clearly I could see the cooks talking amongst themselves about me then they don t tell me anything about being charged for extra vegetables and meat. It just all seemed very discriminating but that s okay because what goes around comes around. Not the same service anymore I will not be coming here anymore that s for sure! Was overcharged. Manager was more concerned with extra charges rather than us having a great experience. I had one less kid for my last visit and was charged over 120.00 bucks. Usual for all eight of was around 80.00 to 90.00. Manager is very creepy and it has been like this for years. Since nothing has been done I guess management is ok with the lack of customer service.

I am very disappointed at the service and the way I was treated. I used to come here a lot when I was a college student. I made a visit to order food. During my lunch time, I arrived around 12:10 pm. It was slow and no line to select your ingredients for the food. A server was super nice and assented me. When I approached the grill, the cook took about 5 mins to take my plate and put it on the grill. After taking my plate, the food was siting on the grill for about 10 mins without being touched or moved, no oil or water added to help it cook. When i had my food, it tasted over cooked or smoked, not a pleasant flavor. The cook seem upset and in not in a mood to be working, it was a skinny guy with glasses. A 1 star is too much for my experience

Do not eat here. I worked here and it was absolutely terrible. The cups are filthy, do not drink from the plastic cups, I d recommend eating and drinking with the foam cups and plates. The plates were always greasy, I always felt bad giving the customers extra plates because every time I picked up a new plate, it was was greasy, I almost never picked up a clean plate. The forks were also sometimes disgusting with food still being stuck on them (we waitresses would have to pick out the food from the forks before folding them into the napkins) I d recommend using the chopsticks or the plastic silverware. The restaurant also had lots of flies and cockroaches that would sometimes get into the food, and a lot of the times the food was spoiled. The manager Frank was absolutely AWFUL to work with. For one, he did not care about cleanliness, every time I brought up a concern about how the cups were dirty, he did not do anything about it. He d be extremely nice to the customers, engage in friendly conversation, but he was just terrible to his waitstaff. He LOVED to gossip and would gossip with his waitresses about other waitresses, causing a lot of drama. And then, would continue to say he wouldn t tolerate any of it. Coming into work was always stressful, it would always depend on his mood if we were going to have a good shift or a bad shift. He also had favorites, and would schedule his waitresses based on who he favored more. And the cooks, although some were nice, some of them were very predatory towards the customers and waitstaff. The solution to some of the cooks being predatory was for the waitstaff to simply not talk to the cooks. I d think twice about going to this restaurant, the food would sometimes be very good, but the cleanliness, the manager, and some of the cooks aren t worth the money at all. It s expensive and a disgusting environment.

Well, if you live in the valley you should speak Spanish, but for those who dont if you go to Khans grill good luck with the cooks as most of them speak Spanish. Also learn the menus. Its very easy to pay too much because you chose to get something extra when you could have gotten a similar type of combo for less. Finally, I feel like they really need to update the aesthetics of the inside of that place they feel to outdated. The tables especially need to be sanded down and revarnished because no matter how much they wipe them down they still feel very sticky.

I was so excited to eat at khans grill havent eaten there in around 5 years since I moved to San Antonio and came back to the valley during covid. So recently I finally had a little money to eat out and enjoy a great dinner. The people where great as always we decided to take it to go. Well I didnt see the signs about overloading your plate cause I was just excited to be back. That I did what I always did. At check out was charged 36 dollars for 2 plates. Well they charged me double for not following there rules. Well it didnt taste as good as I remember and this experience left a bitter taste. I I guess all there success with all the new restaurants they opened they are not happy so the charge stupid fees for not following instructions. I have a solution just have an employee serve the customer so this doesnt happen to anyone. Friendly, well humored staff. Pick your protein, veggies, starch, seasoning, oil, and sauce. Thats it. I go for the double meat option which equals 2 meals depending on your appetite. Be cool and tip the cooks & wait staff. The only thing missing for me is a brown rice option for those watching their carb intake. This is currently my favorite joint.

Outstanding hard working staff. The cooks are passionate and the waitresses are on the ball. My complaint is the cold fried rice and the less than fresh egg roll that we ordered with the meal. We can buy an egg roll at the grocery store and cook fried rice at home for much less at home but we pay the higher price for the experience. Come on guys! An old egg roll and cold fried rice is inexcusable especially during these expensive times. Regardless, the hard working waitresses and cooks were refreshing to watch do their jobs. I will visit again and adjust my rating if the food improves.

I arrived at the place and served myself both dishes, one is for the vegetables and pasta and the other smaller one is for the protein, you choose the pasta and the vegetables by putting them on the designated plate (large) and then you use the other plate (small) for him protein, then you go to the grill stove to have them both cook and add the sauces of your preference, they ask you if it is to take away or to eat there, I decided to go home for reasons of the pandemic, since no one there He wears a mask and the only ones are the employees of the place who wear it on all sides of their face except to cover their mouth, I get to the cashier and I have always paid $12.95 already with taxes for 1 single dish, the cashier tells me: its $17.31, I answer why it is so much, and she tells me! The thing is that I get double meat, I answer that I only take 1 small plate, not 2, and he tells me thats how they marked it!, I decide to pay and talk to the manager of the place and I explain my situation and he answers that I filled it too much, he must have to grab two small dishes so that I had more protein (meat), excuse me for the other one!, I WILL NOT RETURN TO THE PLACE, THEY SHOULD EXPLAIN MORE CLEARLY THE OPERATION OF THEIR RESTAURANT., BE CAREFUL ABOUT HOW THE DISHES ARE SERVED THAT CHARGE THEM FOR EVERYTHING DOUBLE!

Good afternoon Rick, I just wanted to share my wonderful experience that my wife and I had in Khans restaurant in university dr. First of all our food was delicious, the best we have ever tried since we moved from Laredo, Tx. This was our first time in this restaurant. Also, we had the best service ever by Laritza. She was always on top of our needs, she was gracious and ready to help. We really liked her service, great personality and her desire to assit us. Got to go and let me just say it s only this location that does a horrible job. Your cooks need more training in cooking the food. My noodles are super dry meat is not even tender it s hard. The Edinburg location has really gone down under. I ll start making the trip to McAllen. I also heard one of your employees call people Maranas and Maranos several times. Not a good way to treat your customers. That s why the McAllen location is better to go to. The plate I got just was disappointing. Also you guys put out frozen meat. Like literally frozen. With ice. Unacceptable.

Let me start by saying I ve loved Khan s since 2004-2005. I ve enjoyed all of their locations. This Edinburg location has really gone down. The cooks ignore your food while it s literally burning in front of you. It s happened too many times for it to be an off day . They spend more time flirting with customers and talking with each other than actually putting effort into making your food correctly. We had to walk out and go to the McAllen location instead.
