Best botanas I have come across in the RGV. The fajitas are super soft and so is the chicken. I have tried multiple things on the menu and I have yet to be disappointed. I love the super burritos, the shrimp chipotle pasta, and the huevos divorciados. Absolutely delicious! I take everyone there when they want good Mexican food.

OMG...the food here is nothing less than outstanding !!!! Its a hole in the wall, no fancy art or decor, but we go for the service and the delicious food!!! The chili served urith the chips is served hot and just the right amount of picant!!! The Melanese is a very lightly covered steak that is enough for 3 people, plus the sides!!@! This is a must stop restrestaurant !!! On McColl just south of Monte Crristo on the east side, small strip center next to their drive thru store. Medium priced, worth every penny!!!

The botanas here are legit. They are a little on the pricey side but a botana for 2 can feed 3 people. The meat quality is really good. Portion sizes are great, just call ahead and they will have it ready. Hit them up! 8.9/10

The breakfast here is very delicious and filling, the portions are very generous I ordered the Huevos Rancheros, and for $8.99 you get 3 eggs, refried beans, potatoes, fried tortillas and bacon. The eggs were perfectly cooked over medium, the salsa for the eggs was excellent and very flavorful, the fried corn tortillas under the eggs were very good, the bacon was tasty and crispy, the potatoes were made fresh but very bland with no seasoning added, the refried beans were very tasty. The tortillas both corn and flour were just okay. The reason I give this restaurant only 3 is due to the appearance of the business, it looks very deteriorated inside making it a place I couldnt easily invite someone here for breakfast, it just looks too dark and unwelcoming by its looks, but overall the food is delicious.

My girlfriend and I ordered chicken and shrimp Alfredo. The sauce was milky with no flavor at all. Absolutely no flavor of Parmesan cheese. The sauce was like water, and when I asked for Parmesan cheese, they brought me some salty flavored sawdust. And instead of linguine, they served it with regular spaghetti. if you don t know how to make a simple Alfredo sauce with the appropriate ingredients, you should not serve the dish

This is a hidden gem. The portions are generous! Look at the size of the drink glass & platter. We raved about the warm tasty salsa & chips. We ordered queso dip & we werent disappointed. Their queso just made it to the top of my list. The fish&shrimp remained hot for a long time. They offer all the usual drinks including Joya sodas (@ $3.00 ea.). The Marisacada for one (21.00) fed three of us & we had leftovers. The place is small but cozy. They had so many take out orders.

When someone tells you their plates are huge BELIEVE THEM. Ive taken so many people to eat here and I tell them to only order one thing and they never listen. This is by far one of my favorite places to eat in the RGV. The service is great. Marlen is always super attentive and quick. Shes kind and fun as well so its always a good experience. She always remembers me and my family (both immediate and extended) which makes me feel right at home! Food is always hot, fresh and delicious. The meat is great quality and the prices are really good. I uploaded pictures of the barillas burger and carne guisada plate. Both super delicious and I had enough left over for a whole other meal. 2 can eat one plate(but Im not sharing!)

Tried the mar y tierra for 2 and the coctel de camaron (large). Generous portions. The fish and shrimp were heavily breaded but they were still delicious (took off some breading) and not overcooked. Stopped for lunch from food near me search in Edinburg . Barillas is just a storefront eatery, with a drive thru side. Small restaurant, big food, great tastes. Mexican plate was enough for two meals, my friends grilled shrimp was some of the biggest weve seen anywhere, and the enchiladas and breakfast boitano more than satisfied our husbands. Everything was excellent! Id drive a distance to eat at Barillas again.
