1/5 Stars I don t usually write reviews, but my recent trip to Sonic was just too disappointing not to mention. First off, the tater tots were clearly old cold and stale like they had been sitting around for a while. The hot dog? Let s just say it was downright disgusting. It was dry, and the taste was off, like it had been reheated multiple times. But what really took the cake was my large Big Red. They filled the entire cup to the brim with ice, so I ended up with just a few sips of actual soda. I mean, I paid for a drink, not a cup of ice! Honestly, I was hoping for a quick, satisfying meal, but I walked away disappointed. Probably won t be back anytime soon! 3:44 09/20

What a joke. Ordered 3 slushies and one wrap at 849 pm. Waited until 9:20 and asked for my refund and still didn t even get my food!!! The rude girl said we re backed up. You ll get your refund in 5-7 days . No sorry or anything. I always have problems here. It s ridiculous. My kids just wanted a slush!!!!!!

Wow! I don t know if management has changed or what, but the service is not any better. When we were there, there were several workers coming out to the express pick up area asking if something was wrong our order. Then it looked like the site manager was putting rocks back in the front landscaping. My suggestion is that the management needs to train the workers how to use the online orders, when they get slammed with customers that they teach the workers that all hands on deck , and perhaps they should get a landscaping company to take care of the landscape.

Takes 20 minutes just to get a soda, even though order was placed in app 20 minutes prior to arriving at store.. Youre better off just going somewhere else to save time. Update: Went again on 4/19/24, gave it another shot to see if service changed. It didnt. Waited 20 minutes for just a drink after checking in. No point in using app at this location.

My family and I stopped at a Sonic in Weslaco on Texas Ave and ordered combos with Cherry limades on our way out to Edinburg. The limades werent limades but Sprites with cherry syrup. They tasted like dirt. When we got Edinburg I decided to stop at the Sonic on University Dr to exchange the drinks. I explained the situation and gave the drinks back to be disposed. They wanted to charge me again. When I spoke to the management, they still refused to exchange the drinks at no charge because they were purchased at another location. Bad customer service and policy. For the pennies it would have cost them for the drinks that had ALREADY been poured, they lost a customer.

Guess Sonic isnt what it used to be. Had three#1 cheese burgers. They were all consistently lacking. Two tomato slices, two pickles, and very little lettuce. And the young lady called me Boss. That was funny. But the strawberry short cake shake stole the show. Guess if and when I go back it will only be for the drinks. Come on Sonic, your better than that. (Edinburg).

The food is good, if they ever bring it out to you. Made us wait 40 mins and still took us having to beep over 4 times to make sure they didn t forget. We saw about 10 cars near us come and go while we waited. The kicker is we ordered ahead on the app. Poor management. Also don t get tea, sweet or not. It s never fresh in the evening.

Today I went to our local sonic. I was gonna record a video of me ordering 2 grilled cheese sandwiches and a mnm blast. My order took exactly 7 minutes and 9 seconds. Id say that is really good compared to other places. And it was kinda packed. The food is like paradise in my mouth.......... for food. And the lady was so nice. I just wanna warn people not to hand their debit/credit cards to the carhops. There is or was a male employee who I suspect used my card number via drive thru 2x!! First time there was an attempt to withdraw $200+ but thankfully my card was locked at this time. and some months later I saw a withdrawal from a website that promoted scrapbooks for a monthly subscription of $23 is what the company told me. Fortunately they did return my money after explaining it was fraudulent. I NEVER hand my card and mainly use Apple Pay. But this day when there was a $200 attempted fraudulent transaction I gave it to a male employee there to pay for my breakfast. I went home where I stayed until that evening when I saw the attempts to use my card. Another time I was told by the employee that the carhop machines weren t working so he had to take it inside. I felt like I had no choice. 3 days later $23 was used. I do know this person s name I don t know if they still work there.. BEWARE when handing your debit or credit cards!! Use cash or use the mobile app or don t buy food from there if they claim the app isn t working!! I attempted to tell management of the fraudulent use of my card but they blew me off!!

I cannot recommend this location. Read on if you want to find out why. Otherwise, dont trouble yourself and find another Sonic location. Sonic app is a must if you plan to frequent this chain. You get perpetual 50% discount on drinks. You also get occasional freebies. However, there is not point system so you cannot accumulate points for rewards. The food at this location is relatively consistent. Same goes with the drinks. I havent had a flat or tasteless drink here yet. I have an issue with how long it take to get my order. I always order from the app, which allows you to specify when you will arrive. And then you would check in to the store once youve parked in spot. However, this doesnt seem to do much for the wait time. They only appear to start preparing your order once youve checked in. And this location gets slow even on off hours. It has taken almost 20 min. at times to just get a drink sometimes. Update: This issue has gotten worse recently. My last visit, I had to leave and request a refund because I was just waiting too long for two drinks. They were not updating the status on screen correctly and I saw many customers waiting for an extended period of time. I did get a call from the manager explaining that they are understaffed, but I dont think I can continue to go to this location if I dont know whether Ill get my order or not. Overall, I like Sonic when they have discounts. However, if there was another location close to me, Id try there instead of risking the possibility of waiting an extremely long time for my order.

Then they d get my drink order wrong (every time) and when asked to correct they d be horribly rude AND not fix the drink. One girl poured nothing but lime juice into the cherry limeaid. I had not been to a Sonic in years. I had not eaten all day, and by 4 PM, I was hungry. I decided to try something different. I found one of their few empty spaces and parked. There is a button to push when youre ready to order, so I didnt feel rushed as I went over their menu. I got their burger, fries, and a fountain drink. I wanted to compare it with what other burger places offer. Honestly, I thought the burger was very good, but not necessarily better than their competitors. The fries were excellent, hot, and crispy, although heavy on the salt. What makes Sonic unique (besides a few menu items I did not try, such as Coney dogs and slushies) is the service to your car. The young lady who brought my food was friendly and offered that if I needed anything else to call. So, great service. Another thing that is different about this Sonic is an outdoor playground for kids and a volleyball court. I wish we had one of these nearby when I was growing up! A great place for families to come if you dont mind sitting in the car or at a picnic table. Overall, I enjoyed my visit. Kid-friendliness: Play area for kids

What i dont like is that it doesnt have where we park no place to put the trash in i have keep in my car ... This a car hop place where the trays hangs on car window then before leaving u place ur trash on it. And then u place it on the small stand underneath the Marquee.... The carhops back home in Chicago Illinois and the surrounding suburbs still have car hops and thats what Im accustomed to and is so different here in Texas you have to carry your trash with you after you eat or until you get home and you dispose of it and your car meanwhile smells like your food that you ate because all the aroma is in the trash thats in your car

Im not usually one to leave reviews like this since I know how harsh people can be towards food service workers, however, tonight was inexcusable. Ordered a medium snickers sonic blast, a large oreo sonic blast, a large hot fudge shake, and a route 44 ocean water. Came out to just over 20 bucks. We waited 20 minutes, pushed the button to check on our order, then waited another 10 for a response, only to be asked What was your order?. Then they sent someone out 5 minutes later to ask the same question, at which point we requested our money back. After 10 more minutes of waiting, we left without being refunded. Awful, awful customer service. The staff came off completely indifferent, with no urgency to resolve our problem, or even get our money back. Will not be returning for a long, long time.
