By far the worst experience we have had in the valley! Ordered the scallops which came with just three scallops for almost 30 dollars. We also ordered the flounder which was under cooked to the point we couldnt even cut into it. I dont think we have ever been this disappointed in a restaurant, nor are we the type to complain about anything. Please save your money and do not come here!

Such horrible service on Saturday . The manager was rude the staff seemed miserable and like they didn t want to be there working . It has potential but with that kinda staff it ll go under quickly . Kinda ruins and takes away from the cuteness of the restaurant itself .

My husband and I went here for a date night, and we were really impressed with the food and service. Our server noted that my husband had a slight cough, so she had the bartender make him a hot toddy (such a thoughtful gesture). The food was exceptional, but that s what we expected from Chef Campbell. We went back for their Valentine s dinner and had a lovely dining experience. This is a great place to go for any occasion, and there is a great variety of food and drinks to try.

They also have hidden Admin fees they charge u for no matter If u pay with card or cash. Definitely not coming back and hopefully this review helps others not get scammed.

When they first opened, I had high hopes for this restaurant. The brunch menu was quite enjoyable. However, my wife and I had a horrible experience when we returned for dinner. The chef and staff were discourteous and indifferent to our needs. Many of the items we wished to order were unavailable, including the bottle of wine we had chosen. The music coming from the indoor speakers was excessively loud. When my wife politely asked to have the volume turned down slightly, the chef responded by saying, its my restaurant, Ill play the music as loud as I want. To that, I say, it is my money, Ill spend it wherever I want ... just not here any longer.

I was really excited to try this place after reading so many good reviews, but it was such a disaster. I will say the decor and service was amazing, the food... was not and for $25 a plate I was expecting to be blown away. We ordered the marinated brisket, and first I wish it wouldve listed that they put cilantro in all dishes as we hate the taste and wouldve asked for none. The brisket although covered in sauce was extremely dry. The sauce tasted like straight tomato, I couldnt eat it due to the overwhelming taste of vinegar. We also ordered the seafood macaroni and it was like a soup with no flavor, it was so bland and covered in cilantro. They did take back the dishes but we did not hear from the chef or anything. I will say they made it right and took it off our bill, but in the future I would not eat there and just go for cocktails.

Great experience all around. We loved the ambiance, it somehow feels both laid back as well as fine dining at the same time. The wait staff was very attentive and we were never waiting on anything. The menu seems well thought out, with enough mix to satisfy everyone but not too much that it seems like they are just throwing food on a board. I had the fish and chips, which I can honestly say was the best I have ever had. Light batter that didnt feel heavy at all. Im excited to try the other menu items as well. The prices all seemed incredibly fair for what you were getting. Overall a great experience, and we cant wait to come back.

In all honesty, this place is great for photos, but they had multiple flies in the place which wasn t a good sign. Then they took what felt like 30 minutes to make just pizza and scallops when there s only four people in the building. If you try and cancel for a long wait time then they won t let you so be sure you even want the food which I won t recommend. The 3 scallops for 28 dollars had a watered down butternut squash purée. It is not a good place to be at if you re not an alcoholic since the food is extremely lackluster. Also they only have an alcohol menu and not a regular drink menu with poor selection of only water, tea (sweet or unsweetened), and 3 types of sodas as non-alcoholic drinks.

My partner and I were looking forward to trying the food here. The restaurant looked fabulous and the food looked phenomenal. The waitress was very attentive and the restaurant was nice. The music was not too loud, it was nice and fresh, and it had a good atmosphere to it. As for the food, we were left a bit disappointed. I ordered the fettuccine alfredo with chicken. It had a strange taste to it. It was kind of brown in color, had a smoky flavor, and a good amount of parsley (maybe it was another type of garnish?) in every bite. I know the menu stated it had a four cheese sauce, but it wasn t the typical alfredo sauce I was used to. My partner ordered the lamb burger. It lacked flavor. Everything was presented beautifully, but the taste was just not there in our opinion. Maybe we just ordered the wrong? The calamari was pretty good though. This was the experience my partner and I had. Im sure others will have a different experience. You need to try it before you can decide for yourselves just like we did.

This was our first time here. Although the place is stated as a casual place it looks pretty fancy on the inside. Prices are normal, not low but not ridiculous. FOOD IS ANOTHER LEVEL, this taste like city food, beyond great combinations, my husband that hates fish liked the fish and chips, my daughter realized she loves peas, truffle fries are another level of exquisite and to be honest serves are super friendly and attentive, it truly feels like you re not hanging on the valley. Chef was there, so even more points to that. Drinks are well served and really tasty. Just even if it s casual try to dress nicely, we felt a little underdress. This place left me disappointed. Went to dinner with a party of four and the total check was @250. This included appetizers, cocktails, and dessert. The food was fine, no complaints, but also nothing really special. My main issue is the atmosphere. The music was playing so loud that it made it hard to hear the server when she was taking our order. It also made it difficult to hear conversation at our table. Another issue was that the lights were completely off in our section of the restaurant. The only light came from a dim, colored led lamp in the middle of the table and a colored strobe light and black lights that would be more appropriate for a night club than a high-end restaurant. The dim lights made it hard to see our food. My other issue is with the restaurant nicke- and - diming its guests. We asked for a round of water while we looked over the drink menu. The server brought out 4 bottle of Fiji water for which we were charged $4.50 each. No other option was given. This was an obvious ploy to inflate our final bill. In addition, there is a 3.9% fee added to all checks paid by debit/credit cards. For a restaurant to add on this fee to a check totaling over $250 seems excessive. Credit card fees should be included in the cost of the food, as the price of doing business. Additionally, the air conditioner was completely off the entire time we were there, making the dining room really stuffy, and the staff were singing along to the loud music, karaoke-style. The chef seems to think highly of himself, as his episode of a Netflix show he appeared in was playing continuously on a loop. This place was ridiculous. We won t be back again.

My wife and I walked in at 5pm and were immediately seated, even greeted by the Chef. The food was excellent. We had the White Fish Ceviche as an appetizer, the flavor was impressive with hints of dill. For our main course my wife had the Bistro Burger w/ Sweet Potato Fries, while I had the Aged Ribeye. Again, our entrees were of great taste, the service was above average. Although, I did notice other parties having issues with their waitress. Atmosphere: Odd layout; the restaurant was hosting a large company gathering with karaoke. I shouldve carried a pair of earplugs. I understand the casual fine dining ambiance but -Cmon. The large crowd was loud and annoying. It was hard to hold a conversation even though we were placed as far away from the large gathering as possible. Management/Ownership should be more cognizant of the rest of guests. Recommendation: Close the bar area to muffle loud sound. Add Acoustic Wall Art to reduce noise. This will not be our last time, I owe it to the restaurant to provide an updated review on a separate occasion.

First they were out of the rib-eye, which was why we came in the first place. We got the fettuccini Alfredo and the chicken breast instead, both SO bland. The potatoes that came with the chicken had ZERO flavor, and the sauce on the chicken was tasteless. And there was no salt or pepper on the table to try and help. I got dessert hoping to end the night on a good note.. but it was also sub par (dark chocolate soufflé). Sadly the first and last time we go.

The truffle fries as a side are also so good! If youre coming for a drink, the cucumber margarita is strong and tasty! When dining out it is usually so difficult to find a dairy free dessert option. They had 2 dairy free desserts. We had the berry sorbet and it was so refreshing. The waitress we had was so sweet and attentive. We love the ambiance of the restaurant. I m rating this place 1/5 stars in the hopes they can take my review as a learning experience. I had high hopes for this place and booked a birthday dinner here on a whim without ever trying it. From the moment we sat down our server seemed to be growing impatient with us for not choosing a menu option even though we told her only 3/12 people from my party had arrived. She didn t introduce herself, she didn t ask what was being celebrated, she didn t ask WHO was being celebrated, she didn t ask if we needed space for the cake or ask if it needed to be refrigerated (like most places I ve been to have asked). The employees themselves seemed extremely anxious, scrambling from table to table it was just overwhelming. Not a single employee had good customer service skills this day. I don t think any even smiled the entire time we were there. They seemed in such a rush to feed us, then it took an hour for half our table to get their meals. They asked if they could take a chair from our table even though i had paid A LOT of money to reserve each seat since that s how their reservation process works. As we were leaving, we asked for a group picture and as we were posing, an employee near us could be seen and heard cussing at others about not listening to him. Im not sure if google will flag my review if I type out his exact words. As far as the food, it was way overpriced for the quality. I had 12 people in my cohort and they each mentioned how their food lacked flavor & not a single person left satisfied with their meal. Overall, it was unfortunately a poor experience here. I had to apologize to each of my party s members for the restaurant s POOR quality food and service. I would not eat here again or recommend this place to anyone at this point in time, however I do hope in the future to hear that the place has improved.

No one took accountability and said reason we didn t get served for 30 min was because we were walk ins but they didn t seem to mind walk in at the bar or after they took our money then sat us down , I guess that wasn t enough to get granted service. Save your money and time. Worst experience ever!! Everyone including the Chef was rude. Why accept walkins if you re not going to serve them. At least that was the chefs excuse why we didn t get served but didn t mind taking our money at the bar!

Just okay. I had a steak which was very well cooked and had plenty of flavor. However my wife s seafood dish was lacking in flavor. The atmosphere was fine but the staff was a little inattentive and seemed agitated by our presence. Which did not make sense as the restaurant is relatively small and there appeared to be ample number of waiters for the guests. The drinks were delicious as well as the appetizer we had. I think if the staff would just work on some basic manners then it would have been 4 stars in my opinion.

I couldnt add my own because there were no seasonings on the table. My friend said his lamb burger was good, but the bun got soggy because of the tomato. Small charcuterie was just ok. Attentive staff, casual atmosphere. Some what confined crammed tables side by side. Not much room in booth seating area. You can over hear other guests conversations sitting next to you. I had Croque madame burnt bread, warm food, overly portioned. I just can t say I ll return for brunch. Coffee and mimosa were satisfying. Priced reasonable expect to pay well over 100 between 3-4 people.

This place seems.... confused as to what its trying to be. Scottish themed interior (sort of) yet it blasts Spanish music which clashes with the interior environment. The service needs work. Everyone seemed to be in a rush and in no control of the situation and our server was slow to take our order. The food was NOT worth the prices they expect. The Bruschetta was a single piece that was challenging to share among 2 people. The Baked Seafood Macaroni is barely enough for 1 person and half its mass is just mussel shells. The Double Pork Chops is actually 3 chops yet the chops themselves lack flavor and they seem to bank on the cream spinach topping to make up for it.

Food was amazing. Simple, down to earth dishes with so much depth of flavor. We tried pasta and chicken breast dishes and enjoyed every bite. You can tell chef Graham is passionate about his craft. Service was great as well. My only suggestion would be to change up the music to fit the overall theme of the restaurant better. Loud-ish pop music was distracting at best. However, food more than makes up for it. Definitely will be back to try other dishes.

The food, service and aesthetic of this place are all top notch! I had the flatbread for the appetizer and the ribeye for my main course. Both dishes were delicious. My only complaint is that the music was too loud and not suitable for a dining experience. It was, like, drum and bass music that would be appropriate for da club rather than a dinner with friends. The fellow sitting across from me had to lean forward and ask, Huh? during our conversation because of the volume.

First time here, my cousin & I had wanted to try it out. I enjoyed the atmosphere and service. I was seated at the bar which I asked for. I came to try out the bar side only and try out the drinks. I will come another time to try the food considering I already had dinner. I absolutely love the cocowii, amazing cocktail!! However, their mojitos are lacking. Im not sure what happened there. It tasted of water w/a lot of lime juice squeezed in. I had my cousin try it out and she agreed. I had to return the drink. I love mojitos but this one just didnt cut it. I will return to try out the food/dining experience and will revisit my review to update it.

The food should be improved, the quality of the chef being excellent, the decoration of the place is excellent, I love the music, but I give zero to the external part of the place, we were there on Saturday, it smelled like drainage, a problem that should be repaired in the square because they have leaks, That doesnt look good because when you finish consuming, the aroma is not very pleasant.

This place is an absolute must go if you come to the RGV, the staff is so nice, fast and professional, the calamari appetizer is delightful! Burgers are probably the best I have ever had in the RGV you must try the lamb burger, and the drinks OMG. If you like mezcal, you definitely have to try the CastleHill signature drink. Very happy to found this place!!!

The venue is intimate with the ambiance to match. I ordered the baked seafood macaroni and my friend had the lamb burger. Both the dishes were expertly made and packed with flavor. Castlehill Bistro is a gem of a spot for the Edinburg area and the Valley as a whole. I ll definitely be coming back.

Was excited about trying this restaurant and Im so glad it did not dissapoint. We had a reservation on a Saturday evening and we were seated promptly. Restaurant has a cool and relaxed vibe and a friendly host. Our waiter did not seem too well versed on the menu but he was courteous, friendly and checked on us throughout the meal. We had the Lamb burger with Cajun wedges (delicious and well seasoned but I feel arugula instead of iceberg lettuce would make it even better) and the Baked Seafood Mac (also great and probably order it next time). Hope for continued success because definitely would like more of these types of restaurants in the valley.

It took me a while to write this review since I truly hope that my dining experience with you guys is an isolated incident. I reserved a pre-Valentine dinner on a Friday night to treat my wife to a sumptuous meal prepared by Chef Graham. We arrived 30 minutes early on that chilly night and we got seated immediately. It took 20 minutes before someone approached us for our orders of drinks, appetizers, and entree. Our drinks didnt arrive until after a good 30 minutes from when the server took our order. We waited for the calamari for a good one hour only to be told that they dont have any more squid for the appetizer. Frustrated, I ordered the burrata instead which is decent in my point of view. The entree of steak and seafood was served a good an hour and 30 minutes to 2 hours from the time we were seated (thats how patient I was, but my wife was totally disappointed.) The steak was cooked to perfection as I wanted it; the seafood is so-so probably because I was looking for a little bit of a Scottish influence on it because of the chefs roots, but I didnt see any. And by the way, the drinks were served really simply without any garnish or art that night (reason was that they ran out of the dried orange wheel, pineapple, fresh orange, etc. I make a better looking mai tai at home. They also dont have a choice of bourbon for an old fashioned.) The dessert of chocolate that I picked was too sweet to my liking. Im giving it 3 stars since Chef Graham approached us personally at the end of our dinner and apologized for the really delayed service that we experienced that night. If well ever want to give the establishment a chance to redeem themselves in the future, my suggestion would be is to serve their drinks within 10 to 15 minutes from the time they were ordered. Also, from the time we were seated, the server should have approached us immediately. I still gave them a tip even though I didnt get the prompt service that we deserve (tip stands for to insure promptness.)

Castlehill is a wonderful addition to this areas food options. We ordered the small charcuterie plate, the bruschetta (which was delicious) for appetizers. For the main dishes we ordered the burger, scallops and the salmon. All were great and well cooked. My wife had some wine and I had the drink on the hill. On the hill is a smoky mezcal with blood orange and ginger syrup that was just the right mix of bitter and sweet with a strong smoky flavor. For dessert we had the tres leches souffle which was incredible and the celebration shake which made my daughter very happy. We look forward to returning. I would highly recommend.

Castlehill looks good inside; also is this a restaurant for anorexics? I am confident they would be absolutely thrilled having dinner minus what constitutes a proper meal. I ve seen this type of establishment before, but this particular restaurant is in a league of its own. When people dine they believe they are being fed; given a meal to satisfy their hunger, Castlehill fails to do this.

Finally a restaurant we can be proud of and show off to our big city friends. Its incredible that we have a Michelin star chef in town, and his restaurant lives up to the hype, and then some. I like the fact that you get amazing world class cuisine but in a down to earth environment that you dont have to get a second mortgage on your home to afford.

New American Dining place featuring Chef Graham Campbell doing his thing. Ordered the 10oz ribeye, seafood Mac n cheese, fried calamari, and 2 desserts. Steak was cook very well, tasted like it s done sous vide style but I could be wrong. Mac and cheese very creamy and perfectly cook. Could do without the bits of calamari/octopus though. The fried calamari is definitely the best I ve had. Definitely fresh calamari are used and fried to tenderness and not heavily batter. The Alaska bake dessert wow. Light fluffy meringue with chamoy drizzle and inside a mango ice cream.
