Went by here a couple weeks ago and this place is still on my mind. They have THE BEST chicken and waffles I ve ever had in my life. The chicken was perfectly fried, the waffles were dense but still light and fluffy. I was eating the waffles without the syrup, then I tried it with the syrup and it was pure perfection. I highly recommend making the trip and if you can eat at the restaurant I believe part of that greatness was eating it freshly made. This is a must visit restaurant.

Amazing! Good so good, I think we ordered the whole menu. I am not sure what was my favorite, the Jaquays waffle, wings, fried biscuits, swirl punch or banana pudding! Cant wait to get back to try the cinnamon rolls!

Food was good. Chicken was seasoned (though they had a tad too much salt, I ordered them plain) and crispy. The fries are analogous to Churchs fries. The dining area was a bit warm for thorough comfort, but it was clean and organized. There are a couple of tables outside to enjoy the weather if its a nice day.

Tried them out today and let me tell you something, I will be a lifelong customer. My wife and I sat outside in perfect weather and had the chicken and waffles. There was a little wait but it was very well worth it! The wings were really, really good. Seasoned very well, and the perfect crispiness. The waffles were good, but the sauce is the magic! And you CANNOT LEAVE THE RESTAURANT WITHOUT TRYING THE FRIED BISCUITS! They come with some of that magic sauce too. You WILL NOT regret trying them - or you may. Because you will want more. Try this place out - you will thank me later.

When I was working in the area I stoped in for my first time , I transferred out of the area but I kept thinking about how good the wings are, today I had the excuse out Christmas shopping to find my self In the area for lunch, now I m just mad that it has taken me this long to get back , I had there special 2 waffles and 10 wings, it turned out to be enough to take home and enjoy later tonight, and I m going to make a point to go back again for more PS : it s Far for me but totally worth it Very unique wings , no one else has such flavor

Being my first time there it was a cool experience & good food with great customer service! I think I ordered the wrong chicken wings was expecting Whole Wings , but I didn t specify that when I ordered. I got my son the 8 piece chicken with waffles in which he stated was FIRE which means that it was Really gOoD!! The fried biscuits was good & the dirty rice was okay but, I definitely won t be getting it next time I come. I got the dirty rice with the 6 piece wings in which I thought was WHOLE Wings, only wing pieces . In which was really seasoned good & I should have double checked my order to make sure that I got what I really wanted to get. Lesson learned ! Overall I would definitely recommend this place for awesome food & customer service!

This is a GEM! I order here whenever I go to Dickinson. They never disappoint. Flavors are always consistent and thats a plus because a lot of mom and pop shops are consistent when it comes to the flavor of their food but Jaquays know how to deliver the flavor every time !! Dont get hooked like I did .... This is a warning lol this is the place to go for authentic flavor ! They are very sweet people and know my face I love that they are personal when it comes to their customers. Especially if they see you as much as they have seen me.

The wings are delicious. I got the dirty rice also. Both were delicious. I ordered 6 lemon pepper wings combo for $16. The flavor and dirty rice was an extra $2. I think this should be stated on the menu for seasoning and sides upcharge. Other group members had children and waffles. That looked delicious. I think Ill try that dish on my next visit. Great food.

This place NEVER disappoints! The chicken is ALWAYS HOT, FRESH and TASTY. The sides are limited and the price-point is a bit high but worth it for the CONSISTENCY! If you are looking for perfectly cooked chicken wings, and delicious, hearty waffles, you have come to the right place! Jaquay s is located in an unassuming red brick building, tucked away just off the highway, but don t let the discreet outer appearance fool you - the flavors and quality of the food inside are the best of any restaurant I ve been to on my trip to Texas. The wings are fried perfectly - crisp on the outside, piping hot and succulent on the inside. I got mine hot sauced, and the flavor and heat level were perfectly balanced! Hot enough to make me sniffle, but not enough to ruin the flavors. Best wings I ve had in a long time! I also tried the Jerk chicken rub, and that was equally balanced with savory and spiced flavors. I was really impressed! The waffle was thick, and hearty, sprinkled with powdered sugar, and a syrup and condensed milk sauce, which I thought might be too sweet initially, but was actually perfect. It came paired with a giant strawberry on top, which I found to be genius. The tartness of the strawberry helped to balance the sweetness of the waffle, creating a harmony of flavor profiles, where neither one was over-powering. Lastly, I had the dirty rice. Now, I ve had a lot of dirty rice dishes in my time, and inevitably they leave me unsatisfied, either because the rice is dry or the flavor is lacking. This was not the case at Jaquay s. The rice came out gently steaming, bits of ground meat and herbs throughout, and when I say it was flavorful, I mean it blew me away. Perfectly flavored, with just a tiny bit of heat, the rice was perfectly soft, yet not mushy, and so so good! We arrived 30 minutes before closing (sorry!) and even though it was clear they were cleaning up for the day, they invited us in to eat. The place is fairly small, just 2-3 tables, but the smells, flavors, and friendly staff make Jaquay s one of my new favorites, and I will definitely be returning! Well done!

Im the General Manager of the local fine dining restaurant and Ive been in the business over 35 years. My roots in fried chicken goes back to both my grannies and I always thought that no one can touch those beautiful souls..WELL,dont tell my cousins lol,Man Jaquay prepared me some garlic parmesan chicken wings and they were a direct match to my ancestors lol..Cooked all the way through and seasoned to the bone..Nice size wings too..usually with large wings they are not cooked all the way through..These wings were fried perfectly...I know food very well,and the only complaint is that I shouldve gotten 16 instead of 9..tried to save some for the kids..looks like one will get the flapper..all thats left..if you like good old fashioned seasoned wings..this is the spot...The waffles look delicious also..but it was lunch, and a waffle wouldve put me to sleep lol...definitely going back..

This was my second time eating here, the first time was during COVID and I believe they were just opening. My nephew really enjoyed the chicken and waffles on that visit(he didnt want to share)!!! The second visit I dined in, not a very big place, but perfect for a solo lunch. The owner and the woman taking my order were very friendly and I felt welcomed, like I was at home watching TV and eating lunch! The wings were AMAZING! I enjoyed the lemon pepper, I will definitely have to try the other flavors. The meat was falling off of the bone and not an over powering lemon pepper flavor. Cooked perfectly! The house-made tea is VERY addicting!! I was expecting a regular sweet tea but I was pleasantly surprised it was a flavored tea, peach maybe? I tasted other flavors but couldnt put my finger on it. A perfect addition to my meal! Really enjoyed my visit and meal here. If youre in a hurry order ahead, I dont mind waiting for hot,fresh food! I actually prefer knowing my meal will be hot and fresh but I know not everyone feels the same. Will definitely be back, ready to try more flavors!! They make everything fresh when you order it and Ive never been disappointed. The chicken has an amazing flavor and not overly breaded. Incredible. Although they were extremely busy, Jaquay and his team were very attentive to my wife and I while we waited for our separate orders of Chicken and Waffles. The second my wife and I took our first bite of Jaquay s Regular and Lemon Pepper Chicken wings, we looked at each other and without saying a word, agreed that these were the BEST chicken wings we ever had. Extremely flavorful, crispy on the outside, juicy in the inside. Usually chicken wings tend to be greasy, have no flavor, and leave you feeling sick (and sometimes regretful), but not these! I could not recommend Jacquay s Chicken and Waffles enough. Hurry and give them a call! You will not regret it

No need for syrup here at all. We dropped by on a Sunday morning whim just wanting to try something new and had one of the best meals weve had in a long time. Everything IS cooked to order. You will wait for a hot minute to get your food. But it is 100% worth that short wait. You cant rush the art they put in front of you when its ready. This little hole-in-the-wall restaurant has an amazing atmosphere. People walk in and the owner knows them by name, taking time to talk with them and ask how theyre doing. The owner even stopped by our table a few times to check on us as well. Go here at least once! This place is worth whatever drive it takes to get here! Little hole in the wall place you might miss if you didnt know it was there - dont pass it up. I love that they include fresh fruit with the waffles. The wings are perfectly crispy while still being tender on the inside, with just the right amount of seasoning - honestly theyre probably the best wings Ive ever had. The dirty rice was awesome, too. Its clearly family-owned, and the love and pride they put in their work shows. Two more things - its Ja-quay, not Jackie, and always say yes to the drizzle.

Came from Galveston to eat here. The drive was worth it they had about an hour til close and let us sit and eat inside. I loved it. The lemon pepper wings were tasty and so was the spicy BBQ. I enjoyed myself to the fullest. The owner is so personable. He came out to the car to greet us Houston customers. I felt bad because he was limping due to a surgery. Good food plus good customer service equals successful business

Had a waffle, wings, Cajun corn, and banana pudding. The staff is welcoming and polite the food is hot and very tasty. The waffle is thick with a hint of cinnamon. The wings are good size. I highly recommend no sauce on the wings and just let the waffle and/or wings be served with the drizzle that comes on it. The waffle needs NO syrup. Please stop in and support this hidden gem!

A special little chicken place. Had the wings, Hot. Good sized flats-with-wingtips and drumettes. Crispy but soft texture holds a good amount of sauce. Hits all the cravings: Tangy salt & vinegar kettle potato chip, a hint of Nabisco Chicken in a Biskit, and a comfortable level of heat all the way through. Well be coming back soon, but for some Slap Somebody!

Food was great. After receiving my food, they realized that I was shorted a wing or 2. Sent a young lady out with it, she goes to someone elses car (while the young man is calling her name to let her know the food was mine) and was laughing and talking while I wait on what they left out of my order... he told her 3 times the food she brought out was mine but she continued to stand at the other customers car having a convo with my food in her hand!!! When you arrive the door is locked, and you are made to sit outside. We waited outside for 15 minutes until we got a menu, another 15 until someone came to take our order, and we have been waiting over an hour for our food. The owner was very nice and offered us some water, but we have been waiting over an hour and still have yet to receive any food OR any updates on our order.

When I review a restaurant it means something amazing or terrible, considering I rarely do so. The food i had today was absolutely amazing, the chicken and waffles best I honestly have ever had (and i have had plenty), this establishment did an absolutely great job with their service and the owner should be very proud of his staff, I was a little anxious after a long day of work trying out something new and waiting a few minutes past when they said it would be ready, (hangry time-passage) but none the less the wait was well worth it, the food was hot and fresh and delicious, when i got home i honestly was in disbelief of how good the food was, can t wait to take my girlfriend there this weekend and pick us up some brunch food. THANK Y ALL, YOU ALL ARE AMAZING, KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK THROUGH THESE DIFFICULT TIMES!!!
