I ve been bringing my dog here since she was around 6 weeks. She is now 4. I will ALWAYS use Desoto VCA for my babies health needs and grooming services. They treat my baby like one of their own which means a lot considering my dog has extreme anxiety. Thank you Desoto VCA!!

Thank for making something so hard just a bit easier. I came here with my elderly dog 3 years ago. Theyve always been super nice and supportive. This weekend I knew it was time, they made room even though fully booked to see my girl, they were very compassionate and caring explaining my options to continue care or not. Never pushed me one way or another and just let me take my time with it. Such a hard thing to dog for my companion of 17 years but Im glad I did it here. No sales pitch just basic material to explain your options. You dont pay for anything if you want a private cremation. $335 includes urn. They also give you a care package. It was all very gentle and kind.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! I found VCA online. I was only planning to go here once for a check-up, because I had previously found a place that I wanted to use our fur babys permanent Dr. They didnt have any available appointments and I didnt want to wait that long for his 1st appt. Everyone was so loving, professional, and very informative. It was very clean, it didnt smell like dogs and was very quite for a vet! I was honestly impressed! The Veterinarian was super kind, and gave us everything Ace needed until our next appt. When I left their office I forgot all about the other Animal hospital. Lol. Im looking forward to our fur baby next appt! VCA and DVM Curry, you rock!

I recently had to put my baby to sleep. Dr Curry and the entire staff were so nice and comforting. They turned the worst day of my life into a memorable and comfortable experience. They handled my baby with such care and kept me informed throughout the process and when I felt overwhelmed they let me grieve. I can t recommend them enough. There s a special place in heaven for people like this!

We took a dog we found in the woods there. To their credit they agreed to see us, they were the 3rd vet we tried that were willing to see us as nobody else had appts available. The dog was emaciated, 30 lbs under weight, and refusing food. The vet checked him out, said that she felt something hard in his belly, that it might be rocks that hed eaten to try to stave off hunger. Gave him 6 cans of dog food, a bag of fluids, and a flea and tick chew. They didnt check for heartworm, and they didnt take any films. Found the dog on Friday, saw VCA DeSoto on Friday. Fast forward to Monday, and the dog was still refusing food, and hadnt pooped in the four days wed had him, so I took him to my vet in Alvarado. They ran films of thorax and abdomen, to check for cancers and the possible rocks, which helped with our anxiety about why he wasnt eating. Diagnosed him with enlarged prostate (which the VCA DeSoto could have done had they actually examined him), gave us antibiotics and anti-inflammatory, as well as food recommendations to help ease his poops. I feel like the dog suffered for four additional days because the VCA DeSoto vets couldnt be bothered to examine a dog that was dirty and skinned up from being in the woods. Perhaps thats harsh, or judgy, but had we known four days earlier, the dog could have been so much more comfortable and out of pain much more quickly. BTW, the bill from the vet that took the xrays, was the same as VCA DeSoto that didnt. Know where you go.

Staff is nice. However, I brought my kitten here when I first found her and was told she had calicivirus. They prescribed antibiotics. Unfortunately, I didn t think about it at the time, but antibiotics should not be used for viruses or viral infections. This is a huge disappointment. Also, on her follow up visit it was recommended that she get several vaccinations including a respiratory one. So I agreed only to the respiratory vaccine. Recently brought her to another vet, and come to find out, she shouldn t have gotten any vaccines yet because she was still recovering from the virus! Seems their main concern here is upselling.

My kitten died and I fully believe its because I brought it to this location. I would not recommend this place to anyone. My kitten ate a flower and we were concerned. Took her to VCA Desoto, her regular vet. They suggested a IV to flush out the possible toxins. We agreed and left her overnight. When we returned to retrieve Donnie, they behaved peculiarly, claiming they couldnt find someone to take Donnies IV out even though theyd told us to arrive at this time for this to take place. After a forty minute wait, we were given our kitten, told to take the bandage off her leg after fifteen minutes, and that all should be well. It was not. By the next morning, Donnie was lathergic and her leg was swollen. We immediately went back to VCA, where they tried very hard to convince us ANYTHING OTHER THAN THE OBVIOUS SWOLLEN WOUND was the problem. Donnie was breathing heavily and had a fever. They implied it was our fault for our carrier and or car. It was not. She had an infection from the wound. This took awhile for them to figure out. Desiraye Paredes was the vet we spoke with at this time. She seemed very nervous and kept making reference that she sure hoped this hadnt happened at their facility (I am fully convinced she incurred the infection at their facility. 700 more dollars later, we were given antibotics and pain meds. When she returned to the vet four days later, Donnie had stopped eating that morning. Her breathing wasnt great. At the vet they were clearly concerned. The vet who dealt with Donnie this time, Dr. Curry, pushed down on the pus in her IV wound, watched it seep, and remarked, Thats satisfying. I hope it was for her. That pain she cause Donnie would be one of the last things that she felt. Necessary, I know, but her comment feels cruel in retrospect. After this, they took Donnie back for tests. Back there she panicked and passed away. Had we not gone to VCA Desoto, I do not believe that Donnie would have gotten an infection. Had I listened to my gut and not returned there that final time, I even believe that could be the case. Dont hit me with that stupid, Im sorry to hear that, please contact our cause believe me, you doht wanna hear from me. Dont bring your pets here. I wish I hadnt. Donnie Darko deserved so much better.

Our dog had a life threatening tail injury, and I had a hard time getting anyone to check her out because they were booked or she was too big. VCA saw her the next day. Her tail required amputation and Dr. Stubbs and the staff did a great job with the surgery. The staff called to check in with us after the surgery, and they were upfront with all the costs. I would highly recommend this vet.

I brought in my dog 2 times in one week for his shots and they made us wait for about an hour on both days or more, and we were supposed to be the 3 person that gets attended and several cars came and left while we was waiting in the car. And they didn t even end up giving him his shots cause they made us reschedule. NOT RECOMMENDED! They discriminate his race cause he barked and immediately wanted us to give him pills to calm him down and still ended up not doing anything.

Customer service is hard to come by these days. You call to ask questions, and your greeted with arrogance, my exam fee is 130. Oh, your the Veterinarian? No, but thats what it starts off at. What does the exam consist of? An exam, you know. No, I dont never been there before. If you hire staff to answer the phones either pay them more to care about their job or hire people who cares. Disgusted with that phone call.

I had to post this experience, VCA in Desoto is AMAZING!! This was our first visit and when I tell you the Staff were super friendly. I was skeptical and also nervous visiting another Vet base on my last experience with her original Veterinarian (Greenbriar Veterinary Hospital in Duncanville) horrible. VCA was like a breath of fresh air. Dr.Curry and her nurse assistant were AWESOME, they made myself and my 1yr old Rottweiler feel so comfortable. Dr.Curry also follow up with lab results. If you are looking for a new home this is the place!!

On Wednesday, June 29th 2022 I had to take my family companion of 14 years for a quality of life check up. She (my cat) had been rapidly declining in health. I took her to the VCA in Desoto,Texas and spoke with Dr. CURRY, IT was decided it would be best for her to be laid to rest. This was absolutely devastating for me, with the care,empathy, hugs I received from this beautiful facility, I couldnt have been treated so beautifully. I want to thank everyone who assisted me and helped me go through my troubling time. I want to thank each and every one who mailed out a n d personally signed the C sympathy card, it truly means a lot to me and I greatly appreciate all the care and love you have shown me. A recent update: I had a last minute need for a sick 1.5 month old kitten. The staff were very accommodating on getting the kitten in for an exam. Dr. Brown was so helpful and so caring with little Michael. Michael is feeling better thanks to Dr.Brown and the staff. Wow what a great find. They were recommended by a friend. UPDATE - what a shame, they want your money but don t want to deal with humans. The government has lifted all mask requirements regarding COVID but VCA in Desoto doesn t want people in the building and want to keep the customer outside in the car waiting. If you want to go inside with the pet, that ll be another 30 minute wait, I have to get a room ready, blah blah blah . It s very apparent it s lies/excuses that is coming from ALL OF THEM. Liars are thief s & thief s are liars. You don t treat paying customers with such disrespect, you re not the only vet in town. All VCA hospitals has the best veterinarians and this one in Desoto is no differently. I have 4 dogs and support SPCA for preventative medicine but everything else we go to this place. 1st visit : Got somehow put on their vetcare program without knowing. After the 1,000 bill, called management and they did make it right but was worried about their upfrontness about costs. Decided to give a 2nd chance. 2nd visit: Was supposed to be with the first vet, they scheduled me on a day she wasnt working. The vet the filled in didnt really know what we were in there for plus they couldnt do much even if they found something because my dog cant go under. 3rd: Called today because my dog had not eaten for the past 4 days. Told me to go to the emergency hospital. Luckily able to get into other vet that was very graceful as she passed away today. I can honestly say after trying my best to give this vet another chance , it is a corporate business and it feels like I was nothing more than a dollar sign. Dont recommend.

THEY GAVE ME THE WRONG DOG! So this has been on me for a week and really was not going to write a review, but I feel it is needed because this maybe happens more. I took my dog to the get groomed Oct 7, at VCA DeSoto. When I returned to pickup my puppy is when then when bad. I drive up to #1slot call the number and tell them I am here to pickup Oreo, after I send my payment, this gentleman comes out and places this dog in my front seat and I immediately scream out loud! Me: That is not my dog! VCA Man: Yes maam that is Oreo Me & Grandson: No that is not Oreo! VCA Man: Yes it is! Me: Oreo is black this dog is grey and an older dog! Hes not even the same breed! VCA Man: Yes this is Oreo AND HE LEAVES!!!!!!!! Me: I call inside and speak with Mitzy! and begin to tell her someone needs to come out to my car because this is not OREO! I have a strange dog in my car, I have someone else dog that VCA has given me! VCA Man: Returns with another dog and says Is this Oreo Me & Grandson: Yes!!! VCA Man: takes other dog and walks away,. Not once did he try to apologize but just took the other dog and left!

Tried to get my dog in right at 7:30 (when they open) for an urgent visit & was told I could leave my dog there to be checked out at some point today , because the doctor doesn t get there until after 9am. Okay so I do not even know where to begin! So I m just going to tell a long story short, I bought a German shepherd (daisy)from a young lady off Craigslist (I know right?! Your probably thinking are you crazy?!) so I was informed she had her first set of shots in the first week of March(she gave me a paper I guess proof ) daisy was born Feb. 9 and I got her April 8 and I noticed she wasn t eating I assumed it was depression from the separation. A week passed by and she still wasn t eating, had diarrhea and throwing up Dr. Brown and I knew she had parvo she was literally dying and I was mad and sad cause I mean my new baby s very sick and parvovirus is deadly. Dr. Brown (whom I love dearly) she was very straightforward and told me what she needed to do and let me tell you!!! My baby went from on the verge of dying to now she s eating, drinking, playing, just being a puppy! Dr. Brown and the staff there were so companionate, they understood my sadness. Dr. Brown is just so amazing I love her and I thank her everyday seeing my baby daisy just being so happy and chewing on everything (LOL)cause at one point I was just hoping for the best but preparing for the worse and I am just so greatful for the staff and dr brown helping me and daisy. This vet clinic is one of the best ones I have ever been too! If I could rate 20 stars I definitely would! Your pet will be in great hands there.

I was told information one day then told something completely different the next morning when it was time to drop off my dog due to one of their employees giving me inaccurate information. My price went from $33 to over $100 and attempting to force me back 3 weeks later. My dog is 8 and had just been seen by a VCA vet with the records to prove it. I won t even attempt to use them again.

The doctor and staff are excellent but the wait times are crazy. Our appointment was for 3 pm, we arrived at 2:45 and called like the sign said. We were put on hold for a long time, someone finally picked up after 8 minutes. Then, our dog was not seen until 3:38 pm. The doctor and assistants attentiveness made up for it, but the wait in the car caused our dog anxiety. Make sure your baby has toys or treats for their nerves!

Love this place! Been coming here for 3 years. Moved an hour away but still come to the best animal clinic in DFW. Dr Brown is amazing, shes my go to neighborhood friendly dog doc. Shes the best. Saved my boys life more than once. The other docs are great too. The staff is amazing and friendly. They are always willing to work with you and the prices are reasonable. They even have evening and weekend hours. I will continue to drive an hour to see these amazing caring people for as long as I live in this state.

I have been with DeSoto taking my pet for at least 20 years or more they are the greatest Dr and the greatest nurses that I appreciate the kindness and their understanding and wellbeing for the baby animals that they take care of thank you thank you thank you help keep our baby animals alive by bonding and helping animal shelters and hospitals to like DeSoto helping animals thanks again

Overpriced. We take our dog to spca for exams and vaccinations, vca wont accept the records stating they can only prescribe meds for animals that have recent visits with them, this was only recently. never been an issue in the past. Thing is vca is priced waaayyyy more than spca. Both staff are friendly and treat the animals well, but Ill stick with the clinic that is accomodating and in my pricepoint. Hardpass.

The staff is Amazing. The are doing curb side pickup as a Corona virus measure. You call the office from your car to speak to a vet while they diagnose and treat your pet. Once the care is administered they bring your pet back out to your car.

My poor dog got hit by a car on her snout and so I took her here, as other clinics close at noon. They diagnosed a fractured jaw and gave me a recommendation to a vet dentist I could take her to next day. It may have cost several Benjamins, but my baby is worth it. VCA DeSoto Animal Hospital took great care of my dog and set me up with a great surgeon. They made her comfortable during her time there and always kept me informed on her situation. October isn t my month, lost my mom 2 years ago and was worried I almost lost Puppy in this October ... so I m extremely glad VCA DAH took care of her amazingly and made sure I knew what was going on and what to do next.

Its hard to write a review that would actually express how much we were comforted by the doctors, staff, and everyone at VCA DeSoto during our cat Jayne Cobbs illness, and his passing. The care this location put into our sad times made them just a bit more bearable. The amount of work that they are doing right now is beyond amazing, the drop off appointment numbers are staggering ad yet you are still getting great quality care from overworked staff and doctors who must never see home anymore. I wish I could remember what the name of the person was who helped me when i needed a refill of Jaynes pain medication at ten minutes before closing, and they still made it happen, because THEY REMEMBERED WHO HE WAS! I mentioned his name and they actually knew what was going on. That was simply amazing that out of all the cases going on they knew we were in a hospice situation with him. Its a long review, but the gist is this, they are great and will take care of your pet.

Dr. Brown and her staff was absolutely amazing to our pup! Unfortunately, he was too sickly and we had to put him down but Dr. Brown took care of him in his final hours with such love and compassion! She helped us out more than any other vet and specialist we took our dog to! We had spent over $1000 at other vets to get no results, meanwhile VCA told us within hours that our dog had cancer! Something we had no idea if it wasn t for them wanting to do a blood test and x rays on him! The best experience and sweetest staff. Our baby boy will forever be missed but we know he was given all the love in his final hours!

Dr.Brown was amazing!! With the whole pandemic situation it still felt if I was in the room with my little baby Roxie an Dr.Brown. Well thats how she made it feel while examining Roxie she was on the phone with me an was talking to me as I was to her as if we could see each other I loved it! An this visit was fast! But! Very detailed on All! Topics we discussed about Roxie an well we go back on the 23rd Im looking forward to taking Roxie for her 3mos shots to VCA DESOTO!!! Oh!!! Wait!!! Misty was amazing she was the nurse who came an got Roxie from my truck an nice she also explains all medication procedures. She was very helpful on pricing an scheduling for our next visit. I Love this Animal Hospital. They are always so friendly and helpful. I can schedule a convenient appointment and not have to miss work. They took great care of my puppy, Marley, who was infected with Parvo. The updates and personal interest the staff took in her recovery was second to none. Her nurse once said... Marley is fighting and we re fighting with her ... Marley came home a little thinner of course with a great medication regimen and meal recovery plan. I can t thank them enough!

Dr. Tabone is Awesome!! He always takes very good care of my animals. His staff is very professional and friendly and caring. I would definitely refer VCA DeSoto Animal Hospital for all your pets health needs. Always take my pets for boarding when I m out of town and feel very secure in leaving them. I love using VCA. I found them when I first moved to DeSoto and ended up with a puppy. They have been amazing every step of the way through basic annual checkups, to emergency squeeze ins and referring specialists.
