When we got there, we were seated in a very awkward spot, right by the front doors. Our waitress was snarky, rude and unpleasant the entire time before we even spoke. She rushed and hovered over us the entire time. Anytime wed ask for something they acted like it was an inconvenience for them. We got there before the breakfast rush at 7:40 ish. Nearing the end of the meal, the table cleaners hovered behind me and my significant other forcing us to leave. I never want to be rushed, made uncomfortable, or made to think we are stupid because our waitress thought we couldnt tell the difference between syrup and a coffee pot. I highly did not enjoy and am disappointed in this place. My significant other was so excited to show me this place until we got this horrible service.

I don t normally write reviews, but was really impressed with this restaurant. Everything was clean, I got a really good coffee from their coffee bar, portions were huge, food came out quickly and tasted fresh, relatively inexpensive, and our waitress was top notch. We will definitely be making this place our go to breakfast spot!

Amazing food. Amazing coffee options. Service has always been welcoming and friendly. Atmosphere is something you have to experience, theyve decorated it to fit a western farming location. Its done pretty well. Its fun. The coffee options have their own menu like other places do for alcohol. Its a great idea. (Since I mentioned alcohol, theres No alcohol here for those who are wondering. No mimosas, no bloody Marys, no alcohol add-ins for your coffee, etc..) BUT they are apparently very milk option progressive because they offer whole, 2%, almond & oat milks which is amazing!! Im an oat milk drinker when available but usually assume places dont have it. I was pleasantly surprised.

We love this place. Talk about bang for your buck! We had country fried steaks that were the size of a dinner plate, and our son got a pancake from the kids menu that was bigger than his head! Highly recommend this place for breakfast and their coffees are amazing. Worth the wait.

Update: Back about a year later, had our same server Veronica. Shes absolutely lovely. We were very well cared for, our food was delicious and had great coffee. Both got omelets (a meat lovers and a chorizo jalopeno), which were fantastic. Large servings, fresh ingredients, really great menu. I try something new each time. Thank you Old West, yall are a family favorite when were in town. Prior: Ate brunch here, the food was fantastic. Service wonderful, busy place that always seems packed for good reason. Big portions, tasty coffee, friendly staff. Ill for sure be back!

While waiting for a to go order I sat in a booth since there were only 2 other parties in the restaurant. Host IMMEDIATELY jogged over and said I wasn t allowed to sit in a booth since those were for customers and she didn t wait the waiters to be confused. Use a little discretion!

Been here many times and the food is always great and the staff are always friendly and great at their job. I normally have the blueberry pancakes with blueberry syrup. You get two pancakes as big as your late and they are really great . Yesterday i decided to change it up and had the 4 egg omelette omg this thing is huge and so full of stuff it is amazing . Everything is so fresh and tasty. You cant go wrong going here but get here before 8:30 or you will have a long wait Parking: They are in a shopping plaza so always enough parking .

I really didnt even want to leave one star but I came here for the first time because I heard good things and maybe it is from the looks of the reviews but my first time experience was not I called in 2 orders of French toast side of bacon and a side of sausage I left work to go pick the food up for.me and my boss and got there and they literally only.had one order.made then I told the lady I spoke with on the phone I had order 2 orders and she just giggled and spoke to me like I was the one who messed up so I had to wait another 15 min for my bosses order I spend almost 50 bucks on breakfast and now my food was going to be cold because of there mess up I received my second order and it was not the same as the first very disappointing so I asked to speak to the manager cause I was not happy let him no what happened then he.looked at me and was like well what do u want me to do about it rudely I told him to give me my.money back Id go else where so rude and very u professional

If I could leave zero stars I absolutely would. Unfortunately, I didnt even get a chance to try the food because the person taking to-go orders today could not comprehend that I needed 2 of the same plates, and then brought me out French toast that was literally one slice of toast for $20. I told her I needed 2 of them, and that that simply did not look right seeing all the dine in plates. Then I asked for a manager and he straight up just asked me what I wanted him to do about it.. respectfully, be a manager and take care of your customers. I wasnt asking for free food or anything or the sort. I was willing to pay for the second dish, and then did. Then they couldnt even produce the food so I asked for a refund and left. I will never go back to this location. Save your money and go to 7 mile right down the road.

After getting labs completed at local clinic I needed oj and breakfast ASAP. MCDonalds stops serving breakfast at 1030. So I hit the trail to Oldwest Cafe. Bailey brought me the Cowpoke. It was a frisbee pancake, one egg and 4 slices of crispy bacon. I added the extra bacon right before I left Oldwest. This cafe is NEVER empty. As soon as I pulled out another auto took my choice parking spot. There are fancy coffees here but I love regular cowboy coffee...strong and naturally delish. After breakfast I was energized and alive! The crew here are efficient and ensure that you have fresh coffee. Travelers: Oldwest off I35 and you will enjoy Texas served with grace and warm smiles. Went on a Sunday at 10 am. We were cynical initially because reputed places tend to be a bit hyped. Wouldve given more stars, but due to the manager I just couldnt. The food is always great and so is the staff. But after dealing with the manager and seeing his values, we were quite very disappointed. A customer had left their dog outside in a car for over 45 minutes in 85+ degree weather and we brought it up to the restaurants attention if they could please find the owner. Nothing was done. Went back to see what was taking so long, found out the manager didnt want to do anything about it! How absolutely disgusting! We contacted animal control to try to get them to come out to get the dog out. We didnt know how long it would take animal control because it was only 1 person on call. So I personally spoke to the manager and his words were that he cannot go to every table to disturb his customers to find out whose car the poor dog was in and that anything outside of the restaurant was out of his hands, so he wasnt going to do absolutely anything about it. What a freaking shame! There were plenty of ways to very discreetly and kindly find out whos car it was. But shortly we found out that the head honcho was there, so I guess his values were more important to not cause a scene in front of her rather than to save an animals life. I now see your values. With time running out my husband didnt stall and finally went into the restaurant and yelled who owns the Silver Toyota TRD needs to go get their dog out of the car cause its dying from the heat! Quietly and quickly the owner got up and went outside to turn on his car for the dog. The people of Denton greatly value animals very much. Please do not let this type of action happen again. Animals are precious lives too and it happened in your parking lot. If it was a child, would you have stepped forward or done the same and taken no action.

Overall had an ok experience. Food was decent but service could have been better. Biggest complaint was I wanted to order off the kids menu as I m a bariatric patient and I barely eat anything but I was informed I couldn t order off the kids menu no exceptions. Went there for breakfast, the coffee bar was amazing!! The coffee was delicious and perfectly made truly hit the spot. The stuff was amazing very tentative and nice. Food was AMAZING. Excellent food and service! The place was packed with a 20-minute wait and not one open table. The pancakes were the size of the plate and absolutely delicious. The bacon, eggs, and hashbrowns were cooked perfectly. Its on the pricier side for breakfast but well worth it. We will definitely return! Price: $97 for 4 adult breakfast plates and $20 tip.

All prices have gone up significantly, and meal sizes have gone down. Even oatmeal bowls were much smaller! How much does it cost to serve oatmeal? A side of bacon was 1 piece of bacon for way over 2.00 closer to 3.00, and you used to get at least 2 pieces. Its just ridiculous. We wont be going back.

The food here was plentiful and flavorful. Our server was super friendly and seemed to enjoy the jokes / banter from us, we tend to be silly and try to have fun. We arrived before it was extremely busy, when we were leaving there were several people waiting to be seated, because it was busy. I feel that the menu has too many options, it becomes overwhelming. Also all the custom names of plates is challenging. In the end, you can figure it all out, but it is daunting at first. Separating the menu into only Breakfast, or only Lunch items would help reduce the size of the menu. Coffee, the coffee drinks are pretty good, but if you just get black coffee, it is pretty bitter, so beware. They use the same base for black coffee or the mixed drink coffees, which is why it is so strong in their words. Strong and Bitter are different, we all felt this was bitter coffee.

Now we really enjoyed the wonderful and friendly service from a very sweet waitress! But the restaurant was pretty overcrowded and my friend had a pancake that was stuck to her plate and the tables were too small. Less room and have to be very careful not to bump into anyone. She was disappointed in the way the pancake looked like it was crushed and she didnt like that. But as for that waitress, she was very polite and accommodating..thank you very much.

We like to stop for Breakfast when we are traveling through. Great food with very generous portions, especially the pancakes. You can easily individualize your choices. Great service, friendly and fast. Thumbs up Parking: Usually it is great because it is in a mall area with parking. However, at this time there is a large construction project on Hwy 35 and it interferes with getting to Old West and then getting out also. Some of the close parking is encompassed in the construction. Just be patient and if you come from southbound access, turn into the lot before you get to Old West

Ordered the Train robber burrito, honestly just over all too much, but that s on me. The side I ordered was their hash brown casserole very soggy and no flavor. First the order came out in under 5 minutes, for a giant burrito stuffed with hash browns sausage eggs ham and onion. Smothered in nacho cheese I feel like 5 minutes was a little quick. Flavor wasn t too good the tortilla was super rubbery. Maybe next time I ll order something and it ll be a little better.

Great place to eat. This is very tasty. We got stuffed with a family of 6, and the bill was less than $80!!!! The atmosphere is amazing. The coffee was excellent. We had Maxwell as our server, and he did an amazing job as well. Will come here every time we are in town.

Very mid food. Potatoes always taste like grease, eggs are always cold, like theyve been sitting. Gravy is packaged and taste horrible. The snickerdoodle cappuccino was inedible. Like they used an entire bag of sugar. Also heard recently they allow and encourage racist behaviors/remarks between staff. I wont be back.
