Lost my passport - I mailed in everything required to get documents changed after my wedding. Received the new documents in the mail, never received my passport back. Which i need to get a new passport. When I called they said they have no idea where it is. If they would have mail it out it would ve been logged. 0 help.

I tell you dealing with Social Security Administration has been the most TERRIBLE experience Ive ever had!! I go there, wait times are too long, and it seems like you never get anything accomplished!! I was supposed to have an appointment for a phone call 10-10-23 at 2pm. Well, I waited, but NO ONE CALLED! So I went in person to tell them about it, on 10-11-23, the very nice gentleman told the manager, and he told me they didnt know why they didnt call, but he did say that they were very busy the day before, and apologized to me, so he rearranged another appointment for them to call me the next day-10-12-23 at 2pm. Again, I waited-and AGAIN-NOBODY CALLED!!! I was, and still am so mad! Because if they expect me to do MY part, but can get away with being dishonest, especially when theyre taking my money from me, making it hard for me to live,--how do you DO such a thing to somebody?? Why cant they just own up to what they SAY that theyll do instead of lying like its okay, and putting everyone through so much trouble, being rude, people waisting their time to come here, and THEN, when you come, they tell you--We need this-we need that--oh my goodness--this is pure hell-and yet it still isnt enough!!! So thanks to yall, IM in a very bad situation!! One thing though--the reason for the 2 stars is the gentleman at the window sounded compassionate enough, and the security guard is pretty much friendly. Update: 10-31-23-I visited this place again, and told them if my ordeal-actually the little lady who is Oriental...she was very understanding and was very, very lovely towards me, and she took the very heavy burden off me having to pay so much off the bill. I only have to pay 2 months, and so everything was resolved thanks to her! Bless her sweet heart-yall keep her around this review gained a 3-star now!

I followed people s advice on here and arrived 15 minutes early before opening and they let us in 10 minutes before. I was able to get my name changed and out by 9:07am. Place is organized well from my experience. Heads up, do not bring any food or drink inside and I believe no weapons either

A wonderful experience today when walked into the Denton, TX Social Security Administration and was greeted at the door by a gentleman who had a big smile on his face. He asked the nature of my business and then aided me in getting a ticket so a representative could help me. My wait time was 30 minutes when my ticket number was called. The young lady that assisted me was Jill. Jill addressed my issue in a matter of 10 minutes. She informed me when I would be receiving my check from Social Security. The young man at the door and Jill made my visit today a pleasurable one. Thank you Denton, TX Social Security Administration Team - yall are the best

Social Security Administration has been ever so helpful for me. I am a victim of scams and fraud & hopefully today will be the last time I need to make a change to receive my monthly payment. Every employee I have been interactive with has resolved my problem. Now with no banks to deal with, getting a reloadable debit card from Walmart should work soI can get my direct deposit.

They never answer their phone. I never received my decision letter in the mail so I don t know why my application was denied. It s almost been 60 days from when a decision was made on my application. They have the correct address on file but even so I still haven t received my decision letter. This massive delay is cutting into the time I have to appeal which is exactly 60 days from the time the decision was made. I believe this is being done intentionally. Very sad. I m a disabled veteran and this is how they treat disabled people. Corrupt.

Yesterday, I accompanied my mother to the Social Security office around 11 AM on a Tuesday. Parking can be challenging during busy times, so we couldnt find a spot initially. Opting to grab lunch first, we returned later when parking spaces had freed up. Despite not having an appointment, we obtained a ticket from the automated machine. The office has undergone notable changes since our last visit, with at least 15 windows available this time. When we came 8 years ago, there were only 5 or 6 windows open. We prefer going to Denton because its less crowded than the offices in Dallas County. After a 45-minute wait, we were assisted by Mrs. Brumsfield. My mothers account had been hacked, causing a halt in benefit payments. Despite two unsuccessful attempts to resolve the issue over the phone, we had to visit in person, providing the necessary documents. Mrs. Brumsfield was exceptionally helpful and provided valuable advice to prevent similar incidents in the future. Once at her window, it took only about 10 minutes to resolve everything. Dealing with such matters can be cumbersome, but the assistance provided by this office and Mrs. Brumsfield made the experience bearable. Thank you, Mrs. Brumsfield!

Very bad experience, the people who have assisted me on several occasions that I have visited this institution have been quite arrogant, the fact that I do not speak English I think has been a problem for them, it is the same when I speak on the phone, they almost always cut me off the call when I tell them I dont speak English instead of helping me with an interpreter. I am very disappointed.

Couldn t get anyone on the phone so I drove here instead, only to find a sign on the door saying they are closed due to inclement weather. What inclement weather? It is cold, but roadways are clear. Not even the schools shut down today. Ridiculous. ETA: When I finally was able to get in to see someone they were very friendly and the process of changing my name was quick and easy. Changed my review from 1 to 4 stars!

I have been here maybe 4 times in 2 years. The security is such an amazing person. He even went out back to the dumpster to throw out my newborns dirty diaper. Yesterday I was 4 hrs in the phone waiting for someone i Denton SS to answer the phone, nobody did. Today I call at 9 am, 72 mins, nobody answered.I can t even ask for an appointment because they don t answer the phone, I can t fix their error in my SS check . Awful service! Tomorrow I will be there at7sm, no matter they open at 9am, wish me luck. I just gave one star because there is no choice of 0.

After a 2 hour wait to speak to someone I was allowed to spend 10 minutes trying to explain what I wanted. I told I would have to wait a month for a telephone appointment than after the telephone appointment would have to return so they could scan the needed documents which I had with me in my hand. The ssa representative would not scan the documents so now after a month of waiting for the phone appointment Ill have to go back and spend another 2 hours waiting so they can scan documents I already had with me the last time I was there. Typical government inefficiency and a waste of my time.

I went in to update my name after I got married. I didnt make an appointment, but I did prefill out the online forms. Heres how it went for me: This was on a Friday. I got there at 8:30am, and there was a line of less than 10 people. At 8:50 a security guard let us all in. I was able to sit down right at an open window by 8:55. 9am, the woman on the other side opened the window and did my paperwork. By 9:08 I was in my car going home!

Adam was kind and efficient. I went in on a Monday morning around 9:45 am. I had started the process online and filled out the forms before arriving. When I arrived, I signed in and waited for about 20 minutes. Once my ticket was called, it took 5-10 minutes to process my application because I had printed it out and filled it out before going in. Adam gave me a receipt, and told me I would receive my new card in about two weeks via the mail.

I was on hold for about 45 minutes which is fine. I don t mind holding to get to speak to someone. However, the lady I spoke with, knew nothing about the program I was asking about. She was very short and curt with her answers, & she cut me off with every sentence I started. I confronted her and asked her why she was being so rude. She said she wasn t. So I informed her that she had not let me complete one sentence without cutting me off. After that, she became overly sweet, which came across as sarcastic & condescending because she still had a flat affect in her voice.

I came in to change my last name and had my 7month old daughter with me. The security officer let us sit in an empty cubicle away from the busy waiting room. Then when they called my number they saw I had my baby so the worker said he could take me at the cubicle I was already sitting at. They were very accommodating and sweet. I was in and out in 40min!

Roderick is the name of the guy I spoke with. Im not sure if Im spelling it correctly, but he was the rudest, most argumentative, and disrespectful person Ive ever spoken to. He obviously hates his job and life and is easily overwhelmed by the simplest things. He hung up on me when I requested a supervisor to set up an appointment because he was ignoring my question about when I can get an appointment and just wanted me to call a different SS number and it was obvious he just didnt want to be on the phone from the start.

**Update** Met the branch manager who connected me with someone who assured me the issue would be fixed. Yeah right. It wasn t fixed. And when I call back, they act like we have to go in AGAIN because they don t have copies of the documents they made copies of. What a joke.** I have been in three times to get something corrected. All three times we get the document sent back to us not correct despite having all the correct and legal information necessary. When I went in last time I was told I couldn t speak to a supervisor.

If I could give this office NO stars, I WOULD! In order to increase their assisting customer time (I guess), they pick, but leave you on hold! I called SIX times yesterday, between 3:30 and 3:35 (they close @4:00), and NOT ONCE, did someone pick up the phone and take my call! Today, a 10:18, same thing. ALL of these people am supposedly answering calls should be fired! So now..I must call the National number in order to get someone to pick up. When you reach there, take a token from the machine kept inside the building opposite to front door. Then wait for the announcement calling your token number. Go to the counter announced for you. Show them the documents. Offline forms are also kept at the entrance in case you dont opt online.

I got here an hour before they opened on Good Friday and was the 3rd person in line. They opened up 15 minutes early and I got out by the time they opened! I got married not too long ago and needed to change my last name and my social got mailed back in 7 days, which I was quoted 10-14 business days. They were super kind and efficient. Great experience!

My daughter doctor gave me what they had, shot records This place has literally consumed MY ENTIRE DAY! For parents like myself who are trying to replace a lost social security card for THEIR CHILD and don t know what to do, please be advised the following to save yourself multiple unnecessary trips! An appointment is not required They WILL NOT TAKE A SHOT RECORDS after the age of 5 It literally has to be a letter from your child doctor saying they go to that doctor with a signature from the doctor You can t use a birth certificate If your child is in middle school/ high school they WILL ACCEPT their student ID, but your child has to be with you WITH their student ID. The last bit of information would ve helped coming from the first representative saving me A TON OF GAS and time, but hey it s just an honest day of work right?..

Do not waste your time by going to this place. Only the front door is open and they have tables setup with envelopes and forms to fill out for your SS card issuance or replacement. They want you to surrender original documents (wont accept copies) such as DL/Passport/Green card and put it in an envelope along with the form that has all your info into a drop box so they can verify you so they can issue you your SS Card. I repeat do not do this as social security are bound to lose your original documents/ss card in the mail. Pathetic of a system they have established. Had to travel to another city to get my SS card

Super impressed with the Denton location! I completely understand that due to COVID-19, the walk-in option can t be used & you ll have to set up an appointment. They have a secure drop-off option for people needing to update the name on their social security card. I dropped my paperwork off on Tuesday and received all of my documents I submitted on Friday, just three days later in the mail! They provided a note stating that my social will be returning in the mail within 2 weeks and to contact them if I hadn t received it then. Very fast, easy to reach by phone (don t call around lunchtime, but that s any place), and very communicative! Update: received my updated card just a week after dropping off my documents! So fast!

This is absolutely the best SSA office in the Metroplex! You will actually speak to an agent! I spoke with Mrs. Mosley and she was an ANGEL! She answered all my questions and assisted in getting my retirement application rolling again as the Birmingham office had completely stopped the process. I had to call the SHERMAN(Texas) office. There is this person named Ms. PATTY. She answered as if was tired and upset. I explained my problem and she put me on hold. After a few minutes my call was dropped. I called again and she answered. Again, I was on hold for forty-five minutes with no answer. I wish someone in charge could talk to this people, that are providing a service to us. Sherman is the office assigned to Gainesville, Texas but I prefer to go to Denton where the office is overwhelm with work but Social Security employees are happy to help you.

Anybody complaining about wait times should try calling the Dallas location off 75, where itll ring for 80 minutes and then just hang up no joke. Denton picked up after not even 10 minutes, she answered my question clearly and was really nice. I dunno, Im just grateful

Just got off the phone with the rudest person IVE EVER spoke with from THIS or ANY OTHER OFFICE my payee stepped out to take the trash out since wed been on hold for over ten minutes so whenever she answered the phone I told her hold on my payee stepped out side let me go get him she rudely snapped at me that I couldnt talk to her WHICH IM AWARE OF THATS WHY I TOLD HER TO HOLD ON. Thats uncalled for. I could understand her being a tad irked had I left out my having a payee and being rude at her for not doing what I wan to but no I know that I need my stupid payee to do it you never know what the person who you interact with is going through so thats why I wasnt rude to her but I feel like some of the employees could use a refresher on customer service skills and anger management

Mrs. Donna is absolutely fantastic in this office. Somebody who understands that going into the Medicare process can be hectic and confusing. Its not the Medicare eligible s fault their company let them go with 4 days to try and get the necessary forms filled out and submitted otherwise they are forced to take expensive COBRA. A true hero!! EDIT: another client worked with Joseph today and what another amazing worker!! Great job!

This office was a godsend! Trying to change your name with SS is hard because offices remain closed, and I have been nervous to mail in my paperwork to the Fort Worth office. They just didnt seem to have any real comforting information on how to send in things or turn around time. But as soon I spoke with the Denton office I felt reassured! They have a drop off bucket which means I knew my things would be received, and every time I called they were kind and helpful. Turn around time was exactly what they said- about 10 business days. Thank you for not being like all the other offices. These times are already hard enough. Your office made this easy.

I m an Army Recruiter in Fort Worth and was desperate to get a social security card for someone shipping out in a few days. So, I m attempting to get my son s learners permit, which in Texas (and under DPS) has been the nightmare of my existence. On top of it, when compiling documents, I couldn t locate my kid s social security card - just awesome considering our DPS appointment was coming up and the next available is in like September. So, I call up Denton County social security in a panic. The man (wish I remember his name) was so dang helpful to me! He explained exactly what I needed to do to make it the fastest, and promised to do what he could. Anyway, today is our appointment (wish us luck) and we re ready (with his social security card in hand) because someone takes pride in their job and treats others as we should. Office is working from home so they are only open to drop paperwork off into their drop box. Have had a terrible time with getting my newborn his SS card. The site is lying to you. This office isnt even open, even though there are times of operation on this site and the the location its self. They even have all the safety notices on the door as if they take clients. I called the number to make an appointment, which is on the door bc well they want you to drive ALL the way out to them and waist your time and money, just to find out they are and wont ever be open until after this crisis is over. All business for people under 18 must be mailed in. UPDATE THE SITE SO PPL DONT WAIST TIME! I dont know what you ppl who say you can get in to the Denton office. I am here now and nobody is here. I cannot sing enough praise about this office. I currently live in Switzerland, so I have called the office numerous times with questions to make sure I have everything in order. Ive talked to three different agents, and each of them have been incredibly helpful and happy. They were able to answer each question I had. Normally, dealing with government agencies and be a pain, and the agents can be less than helpful, but not here! I really appreciate their help as it has made this process easy. Anyone who has gone through a name change knows how much work goes into letting every office under the sun know, so having these hard working and happy agents takes a little weight off my shoulders. Definitely use this office for any questions or paperwork that you need. I also suggest calling them before resorting to calling the national number for SSA. Denton SSA, keep hiring amazing workers like this! I also think they need a raise :)

Ladies and gentlemen, this is the place to go. Every aspect and detail is outstanding! The security guard might be a little anti-social but no need to ask him anything. I have gone when it opens and after 1pm. Both hours have been excellent to go. It was in and take a number thru the kiosk...sat down and waited between 5-30 minutes. They have about 25 windows....all operational. Courteous and professional.

Waited for 2 hours. When I came in there was quite a few people at windows but it progressively got slower and slower. I then realized there were only 3 people at a window and no one had been called in 30 minutes. Once there was no more chairs to sit in for all the people coming in, the SECURITY OFFICER started calling people to his desk by the door to help them. He cleared 10 people out before anyone at a window cleared 1. Big kudos to that security guy. That single star is for him.

Unlike a few offices, this one opened the doors a bit early to allow you to get a number. Then precisely at 9 AM they called numbers to windows, efficiently and clearly. My representative described the processing for me very clearly. Nice clean facility and cordial all around. I dont understand how this place has any bad reviews. I saw a ladys review yesterday about showing up at 8:35 and being out quick. Well I did just that and was out the door with my new last name by 9:10 a.m. Also, everyone inside was an absolute beam of sunshine and Im not exaggerating. A lady came out at 9:00 to greet us all and let us know the process and honestly it felt more like a summer camp than a government office. 10/10 reccomend going to this one. I cant speak for later in the day, but if you come early, youll be in and out so fast.:)

I got there around 8:35 and there was already a line. However, they let people in at 8:45 to get a ticket and sit. They started calling tickets at 9:00. I was done and finished by 9:10.
