If you have the flare for SE Texas seafood, this is the place, hands down the best cajun style seafood you will get this far north. The food is cook to serve so you have to wait a bit but it is worth the wait, just as if you were doing it yourself, dont expect Long John Silver speed and taste, you cannot compare the two. I have been to a few of them and the service is oustanding no matter where I went. Down to earth polite people too. This is not close but it is worth the drive still. If you like that cross border seafood flavor of south Texas and Louisiana, them boudians, get bunch of them too. There is not enough stars in the sky to give to this restaurant.

I ve eaten at this place at least 15 times so I feel like I can finally leave a review. I can t give less than 5 stars. I ve tried fried, blackened and grilled options. All excellent. Their shrimp etouffet is stuffed with fresh shrimp, rich and delicious. Rice is always cooked perfectly. Fish is always flaky. So glad this place came to Denton and I hope they re here for years to come

I m done with this place. The portions and prices are out of control for the quality of food. Seasoning is hit or miss with this place. Sometimes the food is bland and sometimes it is so salty you think they just dumped the whole box in. But this tops it. Ordered a large gumbo for $10. Got this. They seriously charged me $10 for a cup of rice with a large spoonful of gumbo on top. Talk about greedy. Their food isn t good enough to charge these prices for these portions.

We ended up there 45.min before closing on Friday and the Manager was sweeping and cleaning We apologized for being so.late and she was so friendly and personally served us and checked on us throughout our visit The food was great and service was awesome. It was clean and a good relaxed environmen We have been a few more times. Food is still good, however I am truly disappointed in the management staff that last 2 times. Different ones each time have berated staff in front of all the customers. It is hard enough working at a restaurant without being berated and yelled at in front of everyone. Be a leader . A leader builds their team up not knock them down If you have something to say to them pull them aside and tell them and maybe even help them understand the importance of the job at hand. An employee that feels appreciated will go out of their way to do the right thing. One that feels worthless will go home and not come back A customer will do the same if they hear a person treated this way and I am one of those customers.

First I ll start off saying my meal was amazing. I ordered the Big Easy. My food was prepared delicious. I ve been wanting to try this place for a while now. However, as a first time customer I looked online at the menu before following through with ordering and to get an idea of how much it will be. Upon selecting The Big Easy plate on the online order page it presents a side dish of your choice that comes with your meal. I was looking forward to the fried okra as my side dish choice. I figured I d go through the drive through while I was out returning home from running some errands. While ordering at the drive through, an employee told me the okra doesn t come with the meal, it had to be ordered at an additional charge. I explained I was a first time customer and to forgive me for trying to understand why online that it says the fried okra comes with the meal. The employee told me when ordering online what happens is you get a card or certificate of validation that gives you a free side dish of your choice (in my case it would be okra) on my next visit. I was pretty disappointed about this information but I let it roll and shrugged it off. Nevertheless, the food was amazing when I got home to eat. I m still curious about the online page saying a side dish of your choice comes with The Big Easy and I will complete an order online and pick up in person next time just to test out to see if I get some kind of card or if it was an error on their part that day. Also curious if anyone else had the same experience.

Visited denton and this place caught my eye. Awesome feel. Got a good costal atmosphere. Started with the shrimp etouffee and wow. Great flavor great spice. Right on the mark. I ended up picking the Captains Combo. Catfish was good. Could have been a bit crispier in my opinion. The shrimp were perfect. The boudin balls were good. Finished it off with a key lime pie. And holy smokes it tasted just like a slice from florida. Awesome experience and i will absolutely come back.

The Catch 07-11-24 Brought Dinner home from The Catch! We had boudin Balls, Bang Bang Shrimp, and Fried Mushrooms for appetizers Popcorn Shrimp and Chicken Tenders with Fries. All the food was packaged good and hot. All the food tasted so good! Cooked and seasoned really well. Still need to try the seafood boil. If it s like the other foods I ve eaten here it will be great. The staff are helpful and friendly. The Catch Short review! So far it s always been great! The Bang Bang Shrimp are my favorite! Along with the Fried Mushrooms and Boudin Balls and Fried Pickles.

Outstanding food and service; its more of a hole in the wall type of atmosphere. Though dont let that deter you. The service is fantastic, and they even have a drive thru as well as a separate counter for pu orders. There is outside seatting and inside. The ac is cool. Ehh it was okay. A little too much seasoning and their food does taste like the grease hasn t been changed in a while. I came yesterday during dinner rush at 8:10. I sat in the drivethru 1 car behind the person at the speaker. Took 15 mins for them to move forward, and while I was waiting, one of the cooks was outside flirting with a girl while on the clock. A lead came out and got him back inside, but I was still waiting 30 mins at the speaker, which was ridiculous. My friend went inside and tried asking how long it would be for them to take our order because we had obligations we were in the middle of being committed to when we stopped to grab food. We both had a really good experience last week because the food was so tasty, but this experience really put that last one on the back of our minds. I asked repeatedly at the speaker in the last 5 minutes if they could give us an eta, and no one responded. My friend Brandon came inside to ask at the desk, and they flat out ignored him the entire time. 1/10 guest service for our visit. We went to In and Out after waiting, and we got back to our obligations 1 hour and 10 mins after the fact. (We were only 10 minutes away.) I will not be coming during dinner rush again (when it wasnt even packed out) and I hope when I come back in a month the guest service will have improved. I loved the food the one time I did eat here. I hope to not have a bad experiance again.

This is the best seafood restaurant in north Texas. Everything they do is perfection because they know what theyre doing and if youre a fan of fried or grilled seafood, you should come check out The Catch. The food was really good! However, when we were finished eating and cleaning up, a lady came to us saying we did not pay the full amount. You pay before you eat here. We paid and received a receipt. However, she demanded more money from us. I told her to talk to her cashier, who was hiding in back. She went back and came back and demanded more money again. We gave her the money and left. I had the fried catfish & my daughter had the fried catfish & shrimp combo. We had been planning on trying The Catch for a while & finally had the pleasure. We have been to this location several times and the food was good. My wife and I went there today around 6. They were busy. My wife got the crablegs. I got the French Quarter Plate. They brought our food out, and my food was not hot at all. My wife took it back. She went to eating her crawlers. It took almost 10 minutes to get my other plate. It came to the table and was not hot again! I took it up to the counter. There was a young guy there. I asked him to stick his finger in the ettuffee and see if it was hot. He stuck his finger in it and said, Its a little warm. The second plate was not hot! The hush puppies were cool and hard. I was done after this and just asked for a refund on my meal. The young man told me he was sorry but I never got an apology from the kitchen. Then while we were sitting there while my wife ate her crablegs, that she informed me after we left, they were not really good and hot when they came out. She ate them all though. A lady came out to a table beside us and told the couple there was a balance left on their bill. He had paid cash and got change back. They were done eating before this happened. I could not believe this was happening. I dont know if they have changed managers or what but it is not the same. I am not sure if we will go back. I left a good review before.

The crab is amazing, the seasoning was excessive but the actual quality of the crab was AMAZING. We got the French quarter too: hush puppies 5/10, shrimp etoufee 7/10, fried catfish 10/10, tartar sauce was a bit too lemony for me but was still good, the bang Bang shrimp fried was a 100/10. I havent been to this place much because of the food quality. I started going last month. It was amazing. Then it went back to its former standard. Fish tasted old and dry. Oysters were putrid. The cook put a lot of salt on the catfish and fries I told the manager on duty she said theres nothing she can do she said you can call tomorrow and talk to another manager that manager argued with me that they dont use salt and she eat there and never had a problem. *Calling All Crawfish Lovers OMG . went there tonight 3/3 to get my crawfish fix, and all I can say is, WOW .Absolutely Delicious!!! They changed up their recipe just a dab from last year, but perfected it even better! You will not be disappointed!!! I only had 3lbs and they were to die for and decent size too and very juicy! 11/19/23- UPDATE I needed a seafood fix, so I came here today. I had fried shrimp and oysters. They were good. This place reminds me of my favorite New Orleans seafood spot. This is one of the few places that I would recommend if you are looking for close to New Orleans authentic seafood. I had fried shrimp, they had already sold out of oysters by the time I got there. I forgot to pictures, Ill get them on my next visit. They also had boiled crawfish, they looked really good.

In Denton for work I decided to stop and try this place on break. Now I am from New Orleans so I judge seafood pretty hard. The shrimp basket was good and the beignets was also acceptable not like home, but that s OK. But my main complaint was with the gumbo. It is not season at all. Fine dining with outstanding service staff in a cheap diner setting. We had an event to attend in Denton and Id considered The Catch because of the menu, but discarded the idea because it was a nice night out for us and I thought the atmosphere would be too casual. BUT when we ended up running late but starving, I thought the counter-ordering setup would be quick and get us to our event on time, so we popped on for a quick cup of gumbo with plans to go somewhere else after the event. OMGAWSH, we were floored! THE GUMBO WAS DELICIOUS. And the staff were surprisingly personable for the setup. I mentioned how amazing it was to enjoy a commercial dish that wasnt over-salted, unused to the experience of actually adding (Slap Ya Mama Cajun) seasoning at the table and still be just perfectly seasoned! It was so tasty, we returned after our event for more. Unfortunately, the gumbo had *just* run out before we ordered no surprise, really so we wl considered the shrimp etouffee. Remembering my praise earlier about the perfect seasoning, we were offered to sample before ordering. I said it tasted a little salty, to which I was told theyd been told that days batch was a bit salty from a customer earlier. What a memory, and what consideration that showed us! We ended up sharing one cup of etouffee with extra rice to try to cut the salt, somewhat successfully (I mean, I am used to getting more salt than I like, usually), followed by a basket of fried whitefish with fries and hush puppies, which was fried perfectly. We even had enough to take some home to crisp up in an air fryer for lunch the next day. But the stand out with the fried basket, for me, was the fresh made sauces: a house sauce (a kind of stand in for ketchup for the fries), really tasty tarter sauce and remoulade (which I specially requested because I like sauces and saw on the menu it was served on their po boy sandwiches). I could almost tuck up to a bowl of their remoulade and devour it with a spoon like a bowl of soup. It was amazing! We were there as they closed, so were especially surprised the cook came out to ask if we liked the fish and thanked us for coming in! Oh! The icing on the cake? Really affordable. If I lived close, I would go by for a cup of gumbo and good cheer every day, Im sure. Next week, my husband will be visiting Houston and hes already mapped out one of The Catch locations 7 miles from his hotel. I absolutely will pick up food at The Catch every time I get a chance to go to Denton, which suddenly feels like not often enough.
