***NOTE*** they don t close at 2 as stated because the kitchen closes at 1:30. We got there about 1:20 and seated. Our sever let us know we had 7 minutes to order before the kitchen closed. My reaction to our server was totally inappropriate and I apologized. We should have been told that by the owner who seated us instead of the new server who got thrown under the bus.

I don t normally write reviews, but I just left Stacks feeling so frustrated that I feel the need to write about it. I ve been coming to Stacks almost every weekend since they opened. They were great for the longest time until they got, what I assume, is a new manager awhile back. His presence at the restaurant has become increasingly so aggravating that it s actually uncomfortable to eat here. For starters, he is always so clearly micro managing his employees and it s uncomfortable to witness. We just saw him stand next to a table waiting for their check as he shouted at his employee to hurry up and help them as the guests exchanged uncomfortable looks. We constantly seen him putting his hands on his employees and bossing them around, quite literally, nonstop. I get that your boss is going to tell you what to do, but to so publicly treat your employees the way he does, even putting his hands on these young women, is unacceptable. When he isn t following his employees around, he stands in a corner and watches the guests and the employees and it makes me so uncomfortable! Not to mention that he s also rude to the people who eat here! There was one instance where we had paid but still had full cups of coffee to finish. We were enjoying the rest of our coffee before heading out when we over heard the manager encourage a server to get us to leave (even though it wasn t even busy). We left before she had the chance. Today we were waiting outside when the manager opened the door and just fingered us to follow him only for us to stand by a table that wasn t ready as he aggressively rushed his employees to clean up while acting annoyed with everyone involved. Also, the quality of the food has gone down significantly since I stared coming here! I also find it weird that over the past few months the servers have all slowly been replaced with young, pretty blonde haired blue eyed girls while all of the young women of color, all of whom I recognize and have been there the longest, are now only cleaning tables. It s weird! And I m not the only one who has noticed! At the end of the day, what I m really annoyed about is this man s public mistreatment of young women who work under him. It s gross and uncomfortable.

Rarely has a wait, and the Nutella Pancakes with the fresh fruit was really good and filling. Carson was a great waitress and kept me filled with hot coffee. This is a great breakfast option in Denton if you like traditional breakfast/lunch with fair prices.

This was my first time visiting Stacks. I found it to be a quaint place with really good food. I love corned beef hash and theirs was delicious. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a nice quiet spot for a good down home breakfast. And waitress and hostess were both very attentive and from what I could see in the kitchen, the cook was on top of every order. The food was made fresh to order and came out quickly after our orders were placed. Parking: I saw one handicap parking space, but theres is plenty of regular spaces near the door.

I ve only ordered for pickup so that s the experience I ll be writing about. Starting off by saying that the people who work here are very pleasant. They are kind when taking orders over the phone and they evoke that same energy when I show up. However, there are a few problems I ve encountered. 1.) I placed an order to pick up. They had shared the total cost with me as well over the phone. When I arrived to pick up, nobody seemed to know what happened with that order. They looked around in confusion and said that they d re-do the order. Since I didn t have anywhere to be, I decided to wait and dine-in. When the order was ready, they gave it to me with the wrong side, so I notified them and they switched it for me. 2.) I ordered again for pickup and they had it ready, but they gave me an extra side of hashbrowns with the fruit I ordered. They also gave me white toast instead of sourdough which I specified on the call. Not a big deal for either of these, but I m seeing a pattern of mistakes with orders. I like the food and the workers are pleasant to talk to, but the mishaps with orders and pickups does make me hesitate to eat here. Hope my insight is helpful

Cant believe I havent been here before. I got the pancake combo and my wife got the Belgian waffle combo. Pancakes are legitimately some of the best Ive had. They also have their own hot sauce which is bomb. I was tempted to steal the bottle. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. The food came out super fast too. I went to the bathroom to wash my hands after ordering and the food was coming out as I sat down. Will definitely be back!

Our experience with Stacks was not the best. My husband and I came to this establishment because of its filling what use to be Old West. The server was great! But the food was NOT! Please note that this was our first time eating after two days .so experience such tasteless food it was disheartening. Our total was $64 plus tip for a waffle, crepes and chicken skillet. Just to think that we just returned from vacationing in California and didn t pay that much for a much better eating experience. We won t be back but I hope the food gets better. Our server again was great!

For a small little gem, its tasty. We were seated quickly, orders were taken quickly, and food was out quickly. Pancakes were filling but surprisingly light on my stomach. Their orange juice is freshly squeezed. The sausage is delicious (large links). They have a military discount of 10% which I very much appreciated. The tables and restaurant looked clean. Parking: Handicapped ramp with dedicated spot. Kid-friendliness: Has childrens menu options. Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant was spacious and easy to maneuver for the Handicapped.

My favorite spot for some brekkie with the Mrs. Always packed but wait no more than 5-10 mins, food is exceptional I have never left hungry or unsatisfied. The country skillet is where the magic is highly recommend, I d give up my first born child to eat here one more time before I die. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options limited but exist. Parking: Tight parking if your a big guy park away from others. If you have sliding doors on a van prob easiest in and out. Kid-friendliness: My nephew and niece love this place especially the mini mouse pancake. And hot coco Wheelchair accessibility: The have ramps at entrance and exit.

***Visited on June 17th, 2024*** The wife and I love breakfast! So when I say that our trip to Stacks was simple and we thought it was fantastic, thats just what I mean! Fresh veggies in the omelette and the wifes skillet (not pictured), good biscuits, and fluffy pancakes. The orange juice was also freshly squeezed, so just know youre going to pay a premium price for it although its not much! Iidaliz was our waitress, and she came back to check on us seven times during our 40 minute visit. The restroom was spotless, and were going to visit often as our son will be attending the university in town!

It s not the worst, but is not great either. Pancakes were fluffy and big but very dry and no flavor. The skillet is not actually a skillet, they just put the hash brown and eggs or whatever other ingredients you want in a skillet shape dish, as oppose to a regular plate, not a real skillet. Not all ingredients mentioned in the menu actually came with the dish either Compare to other places around town, this place has smaller portions and higher prices. Service was ok, not very attentive but not bad either. Will not be going back.

The design is a little outdated they put all the effort into the food and service. I HIGHLY suggest you try the eggs Benedict. It was perfect. I also really loved the Nutella French toast. The fresh fruit was actually fresh. Warning: when you open the front door, a weird fan will blow your hair back for a second.

Stacks Pancake House is a gem! The parking space is ample, making it easy to visit. The restaurant is spotless, and the welcoming atmosphere made me feel right at home. However the prices are a little steep and for the same cost you can go to other breakfast places around town and get better quality food as well as more quantity. $9.75 for a single waffle is kinda crazy and 11.75 for a biscuit sandwich with hash browns is also pretty intense. The chicken wasnt real; some by-product. The fried chicken was frozen and tasteless. The Cobb salad wasnt Cobb salad. The omelet was a scramble with canned mushrooms. The only good thing was the biscuit. Definitely not worth the price- go to one of the many better breakfast restaurants around here. The waitress was nice.

Wnever been here before and wasnt planning on going there, but it was close. Glad I tried it. The menu is largely breakfast fare, but salads, but lunch items such as sandwhiches and even chicken fried steak are available at all hours. I had a greek style omelet and my wife a good size chicken & bacon wrap. Both items were very good, and unlike many cafe type restaurants, not greasy and somewhat healthy. Serving sizes were large, but not overwhelming (both of us took some home). Atmosphere was casual and relaxed. I will definitely be going back!

Stacks is a small family-owned business that has a homey feeling when you get there. The wait staff is the best in town, and they do a great job of taking care of their customers. The food comes out hot and large servings. The Chicken Fried Steak is one of the best in Denton. Fun kid-friendly menu with lots if unique pancake options like oreo and pineapple upside down. They also have waffles, crepes, French Toast and omelets / skillets. Really good prices! Waitstaff is responsive, Victoria was great! Parking: Smallish lot but rarely full Kid-friendliness: Fun menu with items kids are sure to like. Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp right next to handicapped parking, tables as well as booths, no stairs

My food was the country breakfast, and I have zero complaints. Was it out of this world like my mom would make? No. However, it was filling and hit the right spot without any negatives to harp on. My honey had an omelet of some meaty flavor and he was not so happy. Bottom line he said it had zero flavor. Staff were friendly and were available but not annoyingly so. The place was hopping on a Sunday morning, so if seated by the door keep your coat on. We will go back and move around the menu some.

Friendly staff and waitresses were attentive and nice. I didn t get pancakes.. I decided to get the veggie omelette, hash browns and toast with orange juice. I took off one star just because it was just your basic omelette and the orange juice was $5! Because it was fresh squeezed . Flavor was mediocre but still tasty. I ended up spending $18.50 and paid a total $25 tip included. Quite pricey.

i order online from this place often and i always get the apple cinnamon crepes. i like my crepes to be cooked extra, very browned. i don t have high hopes that most places will actually read the instructions because they re probably very busy and don t have time. every time i get my crepes, they re browned just like i asked for them to be. i find it really sweet that they always accommodate my requests. i ll have to dine in one day to see if the experience is similar. overall though i would recommend this place, it seems like they truly try to give their customers the best experience even if it s just takeout.
