Tours available every 30 min, good amount of animals to look at, and learn about. Everyone in our group learned something new about at least one animal. Loved being able to interact with a few turtles! VERY inexpensive compared to the TSXT aquarium! I will say, the smell inside where they house some animals such as snakes, lizards, and potentially injured animals is out of this world, maybe some Odoban or Enzyme Cleaner would help. I know it s hard keeping up with that many animals-but in the TX heat it hits you like a wall.

Must visit! Very educational, our guide was brilliant and answered all our questions with expertise and patience. This place is not a zoo, it is a rehabilitation facility and is a must support if you are an animal lover! They are getting ready to release a 150 lb sea turtle back into the gulf, its home where it should be! With that in mind, at any given time the number of healing and rehabilitating animals there will vary. It is outside, but shade is available. Was told $9 per person admission goes directly for caring for the animals. Great way to learn and spend an hour of your time!

Great caretakers of marine wildlife. But our guide was the one why AI will rule us one day. Little girl passing out in the heat and while organizing to get her fluid was you have to stay in the group. After explaining Ill have to tell her mum she insisted not to walk away 10ft. Can you imagine? Sorry, this is beyond cruelty and only can be explained with endless stupidity. Get her off and you guys deserve 5 stars for sure. Still cannot believe it...

The girl giving the tour was rude and just wanted to talk about some birds sexuality Like we were there for that despite the kids. Save your money and I hope that 18 dollars we paid for a supposedly good tour go for a good purpose in that place.

You should definitely make a reservation for a tour of this facility, which operates on donations, to see the indigenous and displaced animals they house here for medical care and rehabilitation. From Sea Turtles, to turtles, tortoises, an owl, hawks, a porcupine, and a few I cant quite remember, as well as amphibians, and snakes inside in their separate cages, to look at. Our tour guide was great, telling us why each animal ended up in trouble and the measures taken to care for them and how to protect yourself and each creature to prevent harm to them in our daily lives

It was interesting to see the animals that end up here. I wouldnt come here if you are interested in a zoological experience. Its a facility that rescues and treats injured and sick animals and they just kind of have some for you to look at since they cant go anywhere. I hadnt realized that the entire facility was outdoors and the tour was also, obviously outdoors and I also did not realize the temperature crept up to 104 degrees. Everyone else seemed fine? I was the only one pouring sweat and dying, so I guess you can go whenever. Interesting facts to be learned about the wildlife, mostly that although well intentioned, untrained caretakers of exotic animals can affect them for the rest of their lives. My son was happy to see the turtles. I would not advise the tour for any child under the age of 7. Most of the tanks were hard to see in because water levels and color. The tanks inside were pretty scratched up so it was difficult for a 3 year old to see. I have a tall 3 year old. The animals are fine, just not designed for display per say. This is a great spot for anyone interested in marine biology. Also, be advised that half the tour involves walking on sand, so either wear closed shoes or...if you dont care about sand then dont worry about it. I dont personally care, but I often hear people do. Oh, there is a large porcupine that refused to come out but it stuck its head out. I didnt get it on film because apparently my phone got too hot to carry on.

The tours are scheduled; we called ahead and made a reservation (a quick and easy process). The inside area (free to view) had tanks to see that held reptiles and amphibians, along with a shop corner. The tour itself was outside and lasted about 30 minutes. Our tour guide was very nice and clearly passionate about his work (by the way all the people there are volunteers). He answered all our questions and kept it entertaining. It was very educational and it was neat to see the turtles being rehabilitated and the long-term animals. Brought my two kids and I asked the lady since there was another group going out, if we could see the one turtle that lost his fin because he was super cute one last time. She said no. I had my kids begging me to see it. Dont see why she would say no. Its a matter of just looking with our eyes and there would have been another tour guide out there anyway. Oh well. Personally wouldnt come back.

Called ahead and booked a tour at 1030 in the morning. This happened to be feeding time the day of our tour, and that made the experience even better. Tons of turtles and other critters, which our guide told us all about in detail. Really friendly definitely plan to visit again if we are in the area.

Great fan of the work they do here. The tour was rather simplistic but I didnt mind considering all fees collected help support their vision and cause.

Really neat place to visit. We took the tour and got to see all kinds of animals, not just sealife. Turtles, tortoises, hawks, lizards, and a surprisingly friendly and large porcupine. Their inventory can vary because they re regularly rehabbing and releasing the animals, but they have some permanent residents that are worth the trip any time. Definitely recommend a visit if you re visiting Corpus Christi.

Fantastic work being done here! It is evident the staff is knowledgeable and devoted to healing these animals and returning them to their natural habitat when possible. Several of the animals were in temporary enclosures inside due to the recent cold spell and most of the loggerheads have been re-released, but still well worth supporting this amazing work.

What a worth wile organization to support! Its worth checking out simply for the donation to keep the Sealife Center going. Their volunteers are amazing and knowledgeable. It was apparent that they truly cared for the animals they were rehabilitating and caring for long term.

Our visit here as a couple was delightful! Upon entry, we were warmly greeted. Their entire staff are friendly and professional. While this is a quite small facility, the work they perform is both necessary and important for this area s coastal ecology and marine environment. They also provide a haven for non-native, exotic animals rescued by local authorities. Many of these non-natives are illegal to own or release into the wild, and would otherwise have to be destroyed if not for this facility. Our visiting here, while only approximately an hour, was very enjoyable and informative. During our visit, they had several sea turtles, including Loggerheads and a Kemp s Ridley species being cared for, for possible future release back into the Gulf. This is a marvelous place to visit for families and can be interesting for youngsters (of all ages!).

This was such a wonderful activity! We are locals but have never been here. We have an out of town guest and took her here as an activity. This was so fun! In fact, I enjoyed this more than the aquarium All of the people here are volunteers, so you know they are passionate about the animals in their care. There are many different types of turtles here, but also other reptiles, birds, and even a porcupine! I would recommend this to anyone visiting or anyone local who has never been. RECOMMENDATION: Wear/bring bug spray! Part of the tour is outdoors and I got bit by no less than 1,000 mosquitos I highly highly recommend this place!

Do not recommend very small/young child. Went to check out this place as our boys love animals. They charge $9 per person for 3yo and up, for a guided 30min tour. Our smallest is 19mo old, very mobile age. Throughout the 30min tour, my husband and I took turn holding the baby and walk him around so he stays distracted. We never allowed him to touch anything unless it was said to be ok, he was never running wild. But he did cry at times so my husband would take him a few steps away, so his cry doesn t distract the group as tour talked. But every time we stepped away with the baby, the guide would raise her voice and told us we were doing something wrong - even though we NEVER ONCE touched anything we weren t supposed to including a tree brand, and we were never disruptive. After being called out for like 5 times, we left before the tour finished as the staffs clearly have no patience or understanding for very young child. The older two boys did just fine. Cool sea turtles and animals to see and it s a good place to teach children about animal preservation.

The Texas Sea life Center, is an animal rescue center for birds, turtles and other sea life. We enjoyed our visit, as well as the tour. Very interesting to see the animals that have been rescued. I think the fee was a little high to enter, but it is a charitable organization. Make sure you wear a hat because you were in the sunshine most of the tour.

As an environmental educator and someone whos worked at a nature center like this I understand the trials and tribulations; lack of funding being the major one. It was good to see Sea Turtles, albeit sad in their conditions, and other animals which serve as good educational reminders we need to be more considerate and aware. I think one thing to note to the staff and for visitors, naming animals is tricky business is means there is attachment and we associate it with pets. I think it needs to be known most of these exotics were once pets but the names dont need to be shared to the public so no one goes looking to own a monitor lizard. Sadly the everglades are being destroyed because of this - thinking snakes are a good pet then realizing they cant afford the space or money dispose in the wild. Please know your limitations and think thru before getting an exotic pet.
