Absolutely DO NOT RECOMMEND. The food is bland and prices are high for something that seems to be frozen. We experienced the owner being rude and threatening to call the cops on a family who parked in his parking spot while we waited for our food. With this experience I completely understand why this place is always empty. El que ase mal le va mal.

The place is terrible, they scold you for parking in front we were going to go in but my dad wanted to go to the store next door first and they told him not to park in front so we decided not to go in, keep your parking lot and your restaurant alone

Breakfast had egg shells in it. Daughter ordered a hamburger. Had to repeat no mayo add mustard 3 times. Waitress still looked confused. When time to pay we could not find the Waitress for about 15. Minutes. She was in the back room. Had to go ask for the check. Then she hovered over us to see how much tip we were leaving her. Unprofessional.

The food was definitely comfort food and it was incredible! Unfortunately, the a/c mustve been out but they tried to accommodate by having fans on. It took a little while to get service, but when we did, everything came out quick and amazing! I even took some of the tea home.

Zero stars stumbled upon this place because I need change because Lees NEZT DOOR DOESNT HAVE CHANGE COIN MACHINE BUT ANYWAYS FLASE ADVIERTISEMENT!!! They post super low great fair prices outside but then you walk inside they try to upside you & you ask about the special & side outside & they dont know what on that sign because doesnt exist & never been to a place where they try to upside you so much. If I could give a zero I would... Horrible service.. owner Is beyond rude and entitled. I wouldnt waste one cent here ever again. Food is horrible the service is even worse. If the owner paid more attention to his actual clients. Instead of his neighbor clients and parking lot. Then maybe his food would taste better and he would actually have more clients.. and please dont park outside and dont go in. Cause he will come out screaming at you. And he will threaten you with the cops. He will even threaten to box u in until the cops arrive. Which is totally illegal. Trust me not worth the headache or money loss... We literally saw him do this to a young man with his autistic daughter.. I will never ever come back here.. I cant respect a person whom treats special needs ppl like this.

Was making a stop both here and at the paleteria next door, was getting my daughter a popsicle first , so she can enjoy while we wait on food and not even a few steps out of the car and the older man came out screaming to move my car if i was getting paletas , assuming I wasn t going to order from him as well. This was our first time visiting El Torito. Do not let the name of the restaurant detour you from Poppin in. I thought, Hispanic name, but country cookin? Say what? I had the grilled chicken sandwich with carrots instead of fries. The carrots were cooked very well. Not too soft, not top firm. Personally, I feel they were just right. They are cooked without spice. I added a bit of pepper and a pinch of salt. The chicken sandwich was legit amazing. It was simple. A thin slice of chicken breast; which is what I prefer in comparison to a thick slice. The chicken was juicy, and flavored well in my opinion. The tomato was ripe, and the lettuce was crisp. The BF had the country breakfast plate. He rates the overall breakfast at an 8 1/2 out of ten. He prefers crispy hash browns and crisp bacon. Im sure if you ask for crispy they we will make it that way. The flavor was on point. He said the pancakes were ok. Nothing fancy. Again he prefers crispy foods. He would have liked for them to be a little more crispy on the edges. We will most definitely come back to try out more food.

If you don t want to cook, but want a home cooked meal try this place. It s like Kelley s but reasonable prices and the food is delicious. I couldn t decide between the Chicken Fried Chicken Breast and the Turkey with dressing, so I got both. The sweet tea was The BOMB. There s a little bit of a wait because it s understaffed, but worth it. I want to try the Breakfast next time. When I was paying they got a to-go order on the phone and it was on speaker the person was also ordering the Turkey and Dressing plate. Lol who says you have to wait til November for Thanksgiving dinner. El Torito Country Cooking is a hidden gem. #supportlocal

Stopped in for a late lunch. The food was good, environment comforting, and owner was friendly and helpful. I love a daily special Sometimes you find food thats exactly what you expect in an environment thats exactly what you remember. Thats El Torito. Good food, good price, and good people. FYI Keep an eye out for this sign. They have a service fee on debit cards. But thats pretty normal at non-chains.

Let me start this review off by saying I apologize I forgot to take pictures. I ordered the club sandwich. I was a little disappointed that they put block style ham on it. Never seen that before. I think it could have had more meat as well as some mayo . Overall the sandwich was good. I wasnt just turned away by it. I would order it again and maybe ask for double the meat. The French fries were pretty good they were definitely hot and fresh. My buddy got the chicken fired steak with white gravy and mashed potatoes . He also said the food was good. Obviously cause there wasnt anything left on either of our plates. The sweet teas was great as well. Very refreshing. It was a nice little restraunt and would definitely go back and recommend it. The server was very attentive and quick. It wasnt crowded at all either so that might have played a part. He looked to be the only server working at the time. I gave it a 4 stars on the food simply because of the lack of quality on the meat and selection of meat for the club sandwich. Other wise I would of given it a 5.

My husband and I arrived too this small restaurant in the morning for breakfast. Let me say its been one of the best most tasteful breakfast I have had that is locally made from the man I believe owns the place he cooked and took our orders himself. My husband had the 3 meat hamlets with hashbrown that he asked too add cheese and onion on it and toast. I had the super slam breakfast. Which is country chicken fried steak with gravey, hashbrown with cheese added and a biscuit that he makes also with butter . We both agree that we would come back again highly recommend this spot. This place is a gem in the making . Food was amazing . First time here, came in for a late lunch and was able to get breakfast cause it s served all day. The owner is getting used to business picking up due to growing community support. He is a very nice man that loves to cook amazing food! With that said the service is a little slow, one waitress, she seemed kinda frazzled. Some items they were out of so some menu options were not available. I assume once they accommodate for the growing customers they will be better prepared. I will definitely be back!

I ordered the chicken fried steak and it was more like a patty it came only with a scoop of mashed potatoes with verysalty gravy. I see the pics on here and almost feels like I went to a different place. It was way over priced $11.40 for the small plain portion of mashed potatoes and a tiny chicken patty and that was it for the meal.

Decided to give it a try cause I heard the owners story on Facebook stating he didnt have customers & was close to closing down. I came in with my kids & we sat down at a table waiting for somebody to come. 15 minutes passed & nothing so I walked to the cashiers & asked for a menu so they could acknowledge us. Another 15 minutes passed & still nobody came to even for our drinks. Maybe thats why yall dont have business, cause the waitresses dont do their job right. Walked right out & wont be back.

This place is absolutely phenomenal! First off, the service was amazing. She was very attentive and a great person. The food was exceptionally great! I got the Baked Potato and Fried Chicken and it exceeded expectations. The burst of flavor in every bite of the baked potato and the chicken was just icing on the cake. Really a diamond in the rough. Wow! I did not expect much (decor, location, etc.) but holy moly, this was good! The fried chicken was shockingly good. Had fried chicken on a fullt loaded baked potato, and am writing this review with the afterglow. It only took a few minutes and everyones plates were clean by the end. Super highly recommended! Restaurants need your support these days and we were the only customers. Try it and you wont be disappointed...seriously.

I recently looked up the word comfort food in the dictionary and saw (El Torito Country Cooking) as the definition, it was late in the afternoon and my tummy was sending me signals to send down some food, so I began looking to see what was near me, I was tired of the same ol stuff thats around my neighborhood, fast foods, Mexican food, burgers, I was craving something good, comforting, different, as I was looking through the list of places near me I came across this quaint, welcoming, cozy place, as I walked in I was greeted by the owner, polite, nice and friendly as the Texas state motto, believing it was Wednesday my mouth was already watering for roast beef, one of their daily specials, I was reminded that it was Thursday so I began to look at the days specials and came across the turkey and dressing dinner, something Ive been craving for some time since I missed last years Thanksgiving dinner because of work, it wasnt long before he came out with my meal, hot, fresh, and the savory aromas rising out of the bag, I went and parked under a tree to enjoy my meal, as I opened the container I got a whiff as if I was standing in my grandmas kitchen as a kid during the holidays, the turkey was moist and savory as the stuffing was something out of this world, accompanied by 3 sides of your choice and some of the best cornbread coming out of Texas that could rival any cornbread from any southern state, they offer many down to earth home cookin dishes, including, roast beef, country fried steak and gravy, a meatloaf that Bobby Flay would envy, and many other dishes to choose from, they open at 8 am till 9 pm and also offer country style breakfast including freshly made biscuits and gravy, cornbread, eggs cooked any way you like or an omelet that makes IHOP look bad, when I saw they also serve grits I knew I had to come for breakfast, now that Ive had my dinner its time for a nap cause thats what comfort food does to a person especially when its this good, I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for something different yet old fashion cooking, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, cash or card accepted,
