Not me coming in here thinking I could handle the heat! BOY was I wrong! If you re looking for spicy this is it! Everything was delicious ! We tried the buttered chicken, the Mutton noodles and the Saag Chicken plus their basket of Naan. Got the Garlic and cheese naan and again delicious! Everything was piping not and again beware of the Spicy but it was worth it! We will continue to keep coming here!

Best in Denton and the surrounding area as far as I know and I ve been to many Indian places in dfw. The Nepalese selection is incredibly delicious!!!!! If I could change anything it d be that there s an option for rice or naan, not just rice. If you want naan it is a separate item completely and $3+ more so I ve never tried their naan unfortunately. Maybe meet in the middle with a $1.20 up charge for naan when getting an entree that would normally come with naan or rice? The staff is super kind and helpful; I saw them helping another customer with their order that was unfamiliar. Very joyful employees here, that makes such a big difference! There s a little bit of a wait time because they actually make it fresh but not as long as other places in town and actually worth the wait here. The food is incredibly good, it isn t spicy unless you ask but get the extra spicy if heat is important to you. The chai tea is also incredibly delicious! The quality of food and staff here is at a very high level, I strongly recommend this business. I hope it stays more affordably priced like it is, I couldn t otherwise. Vegetarian options: The no-meat list is basically as extensive as the list of dishes with meat. The vegetable pakora and momo 555 with or without meat is sooo amazing!!

If I could give zero stars .. the most disgusting food we ve ever had. The Chicken Chow Mein tasted absolutely horrible. It had black chickpeas and burnt chicken?!?! It almost felt like they used left over ingredients to make the dish. The curries were tiny portions with 2-3 pieces of meat and were also tasteless. Overall a huge let down after seeing so many raving reviews. Terrible food. Stay away!

I picked up a catering order this weekend for a very important birthday party. Our food was not ready, it only needed about 5 more minutes to be out, and I along with a guest were given Chai tea meanwhile we waited for the order to be ready. After being made aware that it was done, the employees brought out the food to our car and insisted on helping us put it up. Their enthusiasm to try their food and share about it made me feel welcome! I have also had catering before from other places and this is the first and only to help bring food out. I 1000000000% recommend their food as everyone enjoyed it. It s flavorful and worth the trip there. I hope to come back one day to sit down and eat.

Wow the food was simply awesome. There is only a few places I can recommend that made every single dish I ordered perfect. Spicy chowk is one among them. I would definitely recommend to anyone. Its a indo Nepalese cuisine. You can experience best of both worlds. Only thing that nagged me is the tables and chairs they use. I understand in order to accommodate more tables in the space they have they must have chosen that. But this has nothing to do with food and service. Service was outstanding as well... Highly recommended ****

The food here was so delicious!! I d never had the Nepalese version of Indian food and it was very flavorful. Our server was so friendly and helped us order. We had veg samosas, fried 555 dumplings, garlic naan, and curry chicken. Every bite was amazing! We will definitely be back!!!

This place is amazing! They took over what was a sandwich shop that sadly does not face 288 so, you have to know where to look (it is behind the UPS store) but it is worth the search! I ordered take out this time but everything I tried was great...especially the vegetable pakora - which was not overly fried or too greasy (even getting it to go, it was nice and crispy by the time I say down to eat). The menu is a great combo of Indian and Nepali - which is a nice new on most Indian places in Denton. Online ordering was a breeze with their GetBento site but next time I am definitely going to make the time to dine in.

We were around the Denton Area and wondering what to eat. we want to try something new, and we choose Nepali cuisine. We ordered garlic nan, vegetable Pakora, sambal lamb, goat Briani, and Lassi for togo. They also gave use 2 sauces, but i dont know the names , but both of them are good. we love the Sambal Lamb and Goat Briani. Also, their Lassi because it was not sweet. We ordered 2 of them, one with the assorted nuts and one plain, Im not really a fan of The garlic nan and vegetable pakora. Its not bad. Overall, we will go back again if we are in the area again. The staff is very nice. Unfortunately, the portions are so small that it will take two entrees to make a full meal for an adult. Typically with Indian, the entrees are family style and everyone shares a few dishes. That wont be possible here. The Tikka Masala had roughly 3 ounces of chicken and the veg dish we got had roughly one serving of vegetables.

I desperately searched for something new and interesting in the area and I was lucky to find this little gem! The atmosphere was very inviting and the service was equally friendly and pleasant. My waitress, Madison, held a lovely smile during the entirety of her wonderful service. I had no idea there was a new (to me) Indian place so close to me, and I m so happy I tried it! The veggie pakora was perfectly textured, with the salty spiced exterior balancing out the interior batter and veg. The samosa chaat came smothered in a delicious sauce and chickpeas, and the mild sweetness nicely offset the other, spicier dishes. We also had the paneer tikka masala, Ricky s delight, saag chicken, and veg biryani. The goat in Ricky s Delight was tender enough for my mother to eat even with her recent dental work, and so delicious. The biryani was colorful and beautiful. And the garlic naan and mango lassi were delicious too. I ordered a wide sampling of things just in case something wasn t to our taste but there wasn t a single miss. Will absolutely be coming back!

I stumbled upon this place and decided to check it out. From the moment i walked in, to the moment i walked out i was fully satisfied. The restaurant was clean, smelled amazing and their tables had a concept I had never seen before. My waitress/server -who I regrettably forgot to get her name- brought me my water as well as a tea that was on the house . The tea was purely delicious and the sentiment was very touching. I ordered the butter chicken with garlic Naan (Amazing menu set up I might add. Options for all and very organized). Now as for the food, words cannot explain how amazing it was. I left feeling like a child who learned to walk for the first time, nothing but a pure smile and happiness. GO! JUST GO! The food just makes your soul happy! The servers are very attentive and are happy to explain the dishes. Every bite was an adventure and a happy memory and a warm hug all rolled into one! The prices are very reasonable. The Thali service was excellent and gave us an opportunity to try small servings of several different offerings. If you have problems deciding what to try (because, let s face it. Everything. Absolutely everything is delicious and worth a try!) get the Thali. They offer it in chicken, mutton, and vegetarian. The pakoras and samosas were delicious. The momos were heavenly. I had the Chicken Thali set which was fabulous!!! The flavors explode - no, seriously. Just an amazing taste of so much they offer. Its the picture in the foreground. I have been there two different times so far and will continue to go back, not just for the food but also for the friendly staff. I honestly cannot say enough good things regarding this restaurant. Amazing quality food that is all homemade, which you can determine through the taste of the sauce and the tenderness of the meat. The best thing is that you do not have to spend 30+ minutes to drive outside of Denton to get a good quality Indian food and then wait 30+ minutes for your food to arrive. They got the food out quick and it was so hot that I had to wait a few minutes for the sauce and meat to cool down before I could eat.

This place is an absolute gem. The food is fantastic. First time here, we ordered the chili momo as an appetizer, I got the aloo gobi, my husband tried the vegetable biryani. We also got the basket of naan. Everything was delicious! My aloo was so fragrant and comforting. The momos were crispy and the sauce was very tasty. My husband enjoyed his biryani, and his portion was big enough for lunch tomorrow. We finished it off with a sweet lassi, which they added freshly ground cinnamon and cardamom to. It is so, so good. I picked up a To Go order on Thursday evening. I wasn t able to check out the restaurant much, but it seemed clean and decently decorated. There was a cute photo op area by the entrance. Not a full service restaurant (as in having a server take your order at the table and bring your food), so if that s a requirement for your dining experience I would recommend Namaste. I m fine with either, just depends on if it s an occasion or who I m with. The woman who provided my food was very friendly. I ordered a mild Chicken Tikka Masala. I enjoy spice, but typically Indian cuisine spice is too much for me (even when it s mild, there s usually a subtle heat that is just right for me). I ordered mild expecting that and was surprised to find it was very mild. The flavor was still great, though there was a subtle sweetness to it. I still throughly enjoyed it, though next time I ll order medium spice level. I would also order extra chicken next time. I m still hungry after this meal. The naan was perfect; the garlic flavor was strong and the bread was soft. It was excellent when dipped into the extra curry. Looking forward to trying them again!

Spicy Chowk is amazing food and service. Usually service at indian restaurants are rather indifferent. Here the staff are extremely friendly and and very attentive. Everything weve had here has been delicious. The Thalis are a good first time option as it is a bit of many things. But we loved the lamb korma and butter chicken. The Momo 555 is a must! such flavor bombs. The naan must be made fresh because its always pillowy soft and slightly chewy.

I was in Denton for work for two weeks. I found the restaurant at the end of my time and went there three days in a row. The food was delicious and satisfying. I had the Chowk Special Chicken curry and it was one of the best Indian/Nepali dish I have had in a long time. I also had the garlic naans and other dishes, all were delicious. Went in to get dinner to go after seeing so many good things about this place. Guys, those reviews are correct. This place is fantastic. We had the shrimp korma, paneer tikka masala, samosas, garlic naan, momo 555 (which was recommended to us), and thai tea. All of it was marvelous. It really tastes like it was made with love. Spicy Chowk did not disappoint! Just stopped by for a late lunch and sampled a bunch of different items. All of the food was delicious! Super flavorful! I had the Samosa, Lamb Sambal, Chowk Special Curry with lamb, and the Achari Chicken and each dish was unique, packed with flavor, and since I asked for it extra spicy it was in fact spicy! The Lamb Sambal was particularly good with a twice cooked crispy lamb slices that were slightly crispy on the outside but super tender on the inside covered in a Sambal sauce that was packed with flavor and spice! Seriously a fantastic dish! The samosa was delicious and pretty big and packed with delicious potatoes filling. The Chowk Special Curry served with rice was very good! The Achari Chicken was really flavorful and delicious! Overall the food was top notch, service was great too! It s earned a place in my restaurant rotation for sure!

WOW!!! Exceeded my expectations! Brought my kids in for lunch today and we love Indian food so were hopeful to find a good spot. I got the Malabari curry shrimp which was beyond delicious and cravable! Kiddos got Rogan Gosh and loved it and of course butter chicken was the best weve ever had!

I haven t even gotten my food yet but the service is impeccable. Stopped in because I heard great things since they ve opened, I was greeted by the sweetest woman I told her I had never been in before. She let me sample chai tea and strawberry tea and both were so good. I m sure the food will be amazing. Edited to add: the food is AMAZING! I am exercising tremendous self restraint by not getting Spicy Chowk once a day. The chicken johl momo are my current obsession. The naan is also beautifully soft with a satisfying chew. You should try the chili paneer. And the chicken tikka masala. Pakora as well to be safe. Run, dont walk to try the food here.

The best samosas I ever had and the side chutney is a killer dip. The tandoori chicken wings are one of a kind and worth a try. The Navratan korma is great. The kheer rice pudding was nutty warm and flavorful. End of the meal wow chai tea was a required staple at the end of any meal. Try it.

Ordered and went in on Easter Sunday. I met the owner personally(Charming man) as I was the first person in the store as they just opened. Got to also meet the Famous Ricky and shake hands with the master chief. Wonderful family atmosphere and extremely polite and friendly staff. Now on to the food. The Food Was Amazing and very authentic. There is a reason why Ricky s name is part of some of the dishes as he absolutely delivers the authentic taste of excellence. While I am not particularly fond of spicy food (spice level 1 kinda guy) it was very much worth the hot spicy medium level that most dishes start at. My lovely wife however, loves spicy foods and authentic Indian cuisine, praised it as the best Indian food she has eaten in a long time. I bought the Sambal Lamb medium spice and Fried rice.Wonderful and delicious. I allowed some of my family to have a sample of the lamb and all agreed. Absolute Flavor Bomb in your mouth. So Good !!!! My spouse ordered the Matar Paneer and stated WOW so very tasty and flavorful. We both agree this has become a new staple in our rotation of different Sunday eating experiences and food. Trust me. I only speak the truth. Your mouth will love you, if you love spicy authentic masterpieces from the Heart of India. GO TO SPICY CHOWK and say hi to the owner and get you some food. I have been wanting to try this restaurant ever since they opened, and I finally got takeout this evening. The numerous five-star reviews are completely accurate. I ordered Samosas, garlic Naan, Palak paneer, and Thai tea. I ordered a medium spice level on the paneer, and it was delicious. The perfect amount of kick without overpowering the sauce. The garlic naan and Samosas were perfectly cooked, and the Thai tea was a treat. The staff were so friendly and helpful. I cant wait to go back and try some different items from their menu!

Most excellent Indian & Nepali food I have ever had. I like my food spicy hot, they have a Nepali red sauce that will light you up, it is so good. This place is awesome. Tried it on a whim after googling food near me at work. Its still fairly new so sometimes the food comes out with a wait time but otherwise its amazing. If youre on the fence about trying Indian food definitely walk in and ask for suggestions my waiter was very patient and explained a lot of options and what came in them for me. The garlic Naan is FIRE if you get ANYTHING from here it has to be one of their Naan breads. The basket is also amazing as you get 3 options and its a ton of food. 10/10 will be back many times.

Oh what joy I have found! This is the best food in Denton. From the first bite of Chicken 65, my wife and I locked eyes wide with wonder and delight; the flavor did the rest. If I were standing out on the plains of West Texas wearing a hat, I would have thrown my hat down onto the sand and stared into the burning distance contemplating the meaning of what I had just tasted. Every morsel encouraged us to slow down and savor it. Mind you, Chicken 65 is already one of my favorite dishes. Sometimes the heat adds a punitive element to it. I approach it like a matador to the bull or the lifter to a PR deadlift ... threat and enticement in one. However, this was different! Where I charged headlong expecting firey challenge, instead I found harmony. Culinary Judo! A few bites into this appetizer, and I knew that THIS is my favorite place to eat. Yeah, man, the APPETIZER!! Then came main courses Saag chicken and Chowk Special Curry chicken. At the first taste of these, we were rolling our eyes as we swooned! I dove into the curry. Again, a cascading myriad of flavors made me wonder if a distant relative of J S Bach was composing the culinary form of Book III of the Well Tempered Clavier in this kitchen! Litteral counter point played out on our taste buds. Again, the tone of curry expressed itself with depth and dare I say sophistication. No joke. The Saag drew you out in a refreshing way like a winding springtime stroll through a picturesque woodland painting. Delicious. Come on down and have dish and see if you dont find a little something something here for ya.

Absolutely % phenomenal, everything was delicious from the main course to desert. Im sure everything on the menu is good, but I ordered the buttered chicken curry with rice. When I tell you exquisite I mean it. I decided to add to this mixture of deliciousness and ordered some Naan to go with my curry dish, the bread was out of this world good. It was made to perfection with an amazing taste. Finally, I said well I have to order desert, so I ordered the Gulab Jamun, which is like donut balls, drenched in sweet syrup, surrounded by pistachios. The desert knocked my socks off. It was the only thing I could say. The service was wonderful, I live an hour away but it was so good Ill be driving an hour again to experience this wonderful service , people, and food at this restaurant.

Being Indian I am always skeptical about Indian food. I expect most such places to be Indian food for white people. You know what I mean, more cream base than curry. This place has Nepali and Indian cuisines, two of my favorite types of food. The food hit the spot with the taste and spice level.
