I waited 1 hour for a pizza. And by the time I got it, it was cold. When I arrived the guy at the counter said itd be the next pizza out. Ok. 5 mins passed and the next pizza wasnt mine. Nor the one after. 45 mins later, and Im thinking finally! So excited for this. And guess what? Its cold... Ill never come back again. I always like to tip, even when Im ordering takeaway. But for once Im so disappointed I wish I didnt. Response to the owner: I did not stroll around. I was standing outside the door the whole time, never have I ever walked more than 5 feet from the door. Yes I did make a phone call to try and pass the time as I stood in the same place. Please check your security cameras and then show me how I was strolling around. Thanks for your honesty.

Our first time here and definitely not our last. Walking in, we were happily greeted, which automatically put a smile on our faces. We ordered a cheese pizza, a veg pizza, and cloud 9 wings. All of these were chefs kiss, delicious! The server was super nice and very attentive, not leaving us waiting for anything. We also happened to go on trivia night, which made it so much more fun! I would highly recommend this place.

mellow mushroom by far is one of the most unique pizza places i ve ever visited!! the food.. in particular, the pizza is so DELICIOUS & SO HOT!! i ordered my pizza to be half buffalo chicken & half kosmic karma!! it was the best pizza straight from the oven.. that i have ever had!! this place serves pizza, wings, salads, munchies, desserts, and yummy colorful refreshing drinks too!! great place for kids honestly!!

Service is really inconsistent at this restaurant. We have dined in several times and done to-go orders even more often. One time for lunch we waited over 40 minutes for our food and the server acted annoyed when I asked when our order would be out. It normally doesnt take that long, so I expected a more apologetic response. Their pizza is absolutely wonderful and is a favorite for my family. They usually get the white pizza, meat lovers, or cheese pizza. I eat gluten free, sadly, so I dont order pizza for myself. I think the gluten free crust that they offer is truly terrible, especially when you pay extra for gluten free crust. Not at all worth it.

This was my first trip in. We went at 4 pm on a Sunday so it was a very relaxed experience. I think the atmosphere was very cute. I even commented to my wife that I thought it was cute. Cool and unique paintings and art work towards the mellow mushroom theme. The booths were super comfortable and relaxed. Our service was good. Tori was a good server. The food was very good, nothing bad to say about anything. My kids LOVED the meatballs. My wife loved the Thai wings. All cooked to perfection. I was blown away by the amount of toppings on my house special pizza. All so fresh and good. If I have the slightest bit of criticism, Id say my tomato was the weak point of my meal. It was cut from the very top so I had some brown stem on it. Nothing I was concerned about, I just ate around it. The holy shiitake pizza was incredible. Oh my god I loved every bite of it. The onions were wonderful rich and sweet. The abundance of mushrooms was awesome. But then that sauce.... So so good. Im literally trying to come up with more criticism on this first experience, but Ive got nothing.

Food - great; booze - excellent HH prices and pours (always get the Mauntucky Cold Snack) but the water in the womens bathroom has been running down the drain, unchecked, for at least 3 weeks now. The young person said to be the manager told me that food prices were high and that fixing this just wasnt a priority right now. I dont admire her priorities, as I believe that conserving drinking water is a priority for everyone. So, goodbye for now, Mellow Mushroom - Im going over to Hootchies.

Recently, I picked up an order and it was 104° outside. I walked in and felt little difference between the outside and the inside temperatures. Being chronically ill, heat is dangerous for me and I know the staff would not have known what to do if I had a medical emergency due to the place being hot as hell. I understand the price of air but it turns me off to the restaurant all together when the customers and staff have to suffer because the owner is stingy. This is not the first instance either. Every time I go there, it seems the temperature is barely tolerable.

Look, I gave the place five stars because the food is spectacular and we come back often. But the service is constantly a wreck. It s a bunch of kids working here which isn t in itself a problem, but you essentially have to flag someone down to get a check, or wait 10 minutes for your beer, or I mean it never really ends. I know the owner reads comments on here so I really hope they can take these comments to heart, because the food is spectacular as is the atmosphere. The service is subpar every single time we go which lets me know that the problem is not isolated. I have brought this up to the manager when eating there and they have comped food or what not, which is nice and much appreciated. The service is still bottom tier.

Honestly, I read the review from earlier today so I prepared myself that I may not be able to get the cosmic karma that I always order. I came in ready to choose a different option. I know bad reviews can be harmful but, this one worked out today. I ordered the veg out to go and it was fantastic! I love the cosmic karma but the lack of pesto caused me to branch out and I am not disappointed. The service we received from Wren was great and the pizza was delicious. Thank you for another fantastic experience. We will always visit you guys when we come in to Denton.

Came in to place a to go order. No one at the host stand, bartender had three at bar top. No greeting for a solid five minutes while I stand there. Finally the host shows up, asks if I m picking up, which I reply, no, I m here to place a to go order, which seemed confusing, so he asked the bartender who I should order from, to which they responded: me. So maybe your bartenders should greet people when they walk in. Pretty typical for service industry people. I then sit down, think out my order, and wait. And wait, and wait. Finally, still without greeting me, the bartender asked what I wanted. I order the Maui Wowie, a signature pizza for y all. Another five minutes go by, and I m told y all are out of pesto. I know this might be insignificant to some people, but I had my heart and stomach set on that pizza and the abysmal service set in for me that I probably shouldn t come back. This was at 5:15 on Monday, the 27th.

Initially, I was debating posting this because the owner seems to be a little passive aggressive, but I recently learned that a friend of mine have the same experience. Instead of attacking the customers character, why don t they just create a new protocol for when they see somebody staring them down without food on their table for 1 hour, they go out to them and take their order. We love Mellow Mushroom and always make a point to stop by whatever location that is near to where we are at or going. This location we have been to twice when traveling to Dallas from Oklahoma and the pizza is always great! The service this last time we were here was really slow. The prices are good for what you get and the pizza is amazing, we just love the crust. Our favorite is the House Special pizza. highly recommend and will be back when we are in the area.

We were visiting Denton 3/23/24 and decided to try this place after doing some research, we were met with a less than enthusiastic young man that seated us. The restaurant wasn t very busy at 2pm. It took a while for the waiter a young man took our drink order and took 10 to 15 minutes to get that at which point we were ready to order our food, we ordered a medium and small pizza, a burger, half order of pretzels half avacado hoagie and bruschetta. It took over an hour to receive this order but I was hopeful that the food would have been worth the wait but sadly it was not! The bruschetta was missing the fresh basil when asked said they were out so we sent it back. The avacado hoagie was a joke, the bun was stale and it literally consisted of 2 small slices of tomatoes, lettuce and avacado slices, I had to get a side of ranch to give it some flavor. The burger was small and overcooked and the tater tots for both were still cold had weird consistency like maybe they warmed them up in microwave they definitely did not come out of fryer gross, oh and when asked for ketchup advised us they were out. How can you be out of ketchup!!! The pizza was ok not the best I ve ever had but at least we had that also the bathroom had no paper towels. Seemed like the young men working there were to mellow and spent more time talking with each other than waiting on customers which there weren t many of. All in all this was a terrible dining experience all the way around and we will not be back. This was $115 I wish I could get back!

Unfortunately the service was not great, the manager and employees do not know the menu or what can be categorized for food sensitivities. When I asked if something had pork in it, the employee replied I don t know. There was no agency to ask the manager or cooks, a simple I don t know that was the only response. When asked if something was vegan, they replied the same but eventually asked the manager with some prodding. The manager responded that one of the items in question, the soup, she thought was vegan. My family and I looked up the menu online and saw that the soup was not vegan. If you work in the food industry, your knowledge of the menu should be a necessity for not only the employees, but also the upper management. I hope they train their employees and management better and take this matter seriously.

We ordered a mushroom pizza w Canadian bacon. It did not arrive correctly. However, the mayo topping was surprisingly delish. The whole vibe was mellow, and we had to ask for a waiter to order beer and then ask again for someone else to take our food order. We were the only customers at the time. We almost left because of this....but our waiter turned out to be a lot of fun and very friendly. So theres that. Parking: You have to back in to your parking space in this part of Denton. We arrived earlier than your normal dinner crowd and were able to find a spot near the door.

The Mellow Mushroom in Denton just might be a little too mellow for my taste. While the restaurant was very clean, the atmosphere was a little bland and uninviting. I think I expected more of a groovy, colorful vibe. We were seated quickly, our orders taken in an efficient manner, but other than that the service was just so-so. Despite our meal being early on a Saturday evening (not crowded), our server only checked in with us a few times. The food was very good and more reasonably priced than I expected. Nothing was really gained from the dining experience itself though. Based on my experience, one might want to opt to take their mellow to go.

Very disappointed. We order from this establishment often. Food is always been good. Today, we were not given the correct order. Restaurant owed us around 10 bucks. Not much to some but to me its a lot. Gave us smaller portions and charged us for a larger portion. When we called we were told nothing could be done cause we ordered from uber eats. This new way of ordering food gives restaurants the upper hand in shorting customers and wiggling their way from making things right. Hope those 10 dollars kept you in business. This is one of the best pizza joints in all of the DFW area, I m convinced. Truly incredible pizza (the Kosmik Karma is to die for) impeccable atmosphere, and the service is so wonderful. My last server, Bear (Behr?) was simply wonderful (give them a raise.) 1000% my new fave splurge spot to take groups. Kid-friendliness: My server, Bear(?) who was an absolute delight, talked about band with my cousin (11yo) who just recently started, and the cousin loved them. Such an amazing experience.

I loved the food. All of us loved it. I had a sausage pizza that was perfectly made, burgers, calzone All very good. Service was generally good, The only downer was the atmosphere. It smelled like an old bar, maybe like people smoked pot before we were there. Stale air smell. I came here originally as a second option, due to the fact I was craving sushi in the moment, but I came here since its been on my bucket list for a while. I went in, and there was maybe a couple people in a single booth, then again its 3:00 on a Thursday, so of course its next to dead. The place by itself is really quite the sight, And the Halloween decorations just made it that much cooler. I ordered half of an Italian hoagie, some chips, and a drink for $10. This place is worth every single penny You spend on it, and this place proves that by the flavor and quality of their food alone. Will definitely be back to actually sit down and take in the place, since this was just a to-go order, And I sat around at the front of the restaurant for roughly 10 minutes.

Ive been curious about this place for a while and have heard a lot of good things about it, so Im glad this is where we all went to eat for our friends nieces birthday. Overall, this place was amazing and I highly recommend trying them out. Ill go into more details below. FOOD: Absolutely amazing pizza! We tried multiple different pizzas, and even my picky eater said it was delicious, and hed happily go back! That said, the pretzel bite appetizers were a little off of expectations. They were tasty for sure, but I was expecting pretzel bites, and they had more of a pizza dough bites taste and look to them. If I knew this going in, it wouldnt have been an issue. Other appetizers we tried were delicious, as well, and so were the Mocktails. SERVICE: The service was a little lacking when we were there. It took a long time to get anything we ordered, and a couple minor requests were forgotten. This is partially due to them not being stated enough for everything they were hot with that day. There was at least one wedding that ordered food, regular deliveries/ online orders, a festival going on in the area with a lot of vendors, and the people that were in restaurant. Our server did really great with keeping up with our group, considering all the factors and she was very friendly and informative the whole time. ATMOSPHERE: This place has a great atmosphere. I live the decorations and the hippie/ psychedelic but mellow feel that is the plethora of colors and art and images and setup that the restaurant chose. Even though we were there for a long time, we were able to visit and chill and had a great time. It lives up to its name.

The food tastes great, but because of poor service, it may not be hot. Today, it was 15-20 minutes before the waiter took our order. We ordered everything at once. I had to check in or wave down the waiter every step of the way. 5-10 minute wait for waters after ordering. 5-10 minutes additional for my other drink. 30+ minutes for appetizer. We didnt get our pizza until well over an hour after sitting down. While I was writing this view, they came up and let us know that they had to remake our pizza a couple of times and comped our ticket. I added a star for that. I appreciate how communication the kitchen manager was. But the service was still poor and its not the first time. Our waiter wasnt busy, often standing behind the bar. He just lacked hospitality I guess. If a mistake is made, more communication is always better than less.

RAW SEWAGE!!!! We have come to this place 3 times now and are so nauseated by the time we leave, from the nasty smell. Its strong and smells from the front door to the back. The food was hit or miss. The pizza was good. The mushroom soup was disgusting. It tasted old and was only partially heated. I know its not soup season but either take it off the menu or make it fresh. The salads were okay. The highlight was our server who was kind and attentive. We left saying how sad the decline of the place was and it would be our last visit.

Visited Mellow Mushroom with my daughter on a scorching day of 104f. Immediately upon entering, we were met with a persistent smell of sewer gas. To make matters worse, there was no AC, making the temperature inside nearly as unbearable as outside. Our experience took another dip when we discovered a fly in our cocktail. Speaking of Dip, the Spinach Dip was the only enjoyable part of the meal and it was amazing. The pizza we ordered came out incorrect and shockingly, it took 45 minutes to arrive despite the restaurant being less than half full. When it did arrive, there was no pizza server, plates, or even forks just a roll of paper towels. Both of us were parched due to the heat, and despite finishing our waters swiftly, no refills were provided. I had to retrieve ice from my car to stay hydrated. Payment was another issue, as they never approached us, possibly assuming we d use the app. On a positive note, they did replace the tainted drink without charging. However, due to the long wait, we chose not to send back the incorrectly made pizza. Hands down, my visit to Mellow Mushroom was my worst dining experience ever.

Sadly this visit was our last. We used to enjoy going but things have changed. The pizza was tough. The service was below average and the Atmosphere was a turn off. It was smoky and way too warm. The hallway to the toilets stunk of raw sewage and our server did not check on us. It wasnt busy. All in all not a fun experience and it wasnt worth what we paid.

They are short-handed to me. The staff there all deserve a raise, if not. Love the staff, atmosphere, food, and sangria. I took a star away because the ladies bathroom stinks, probably mens does too, cause its out into the hall. I know, I know, its probably the plumbing, but very off-putting. Honestly first off, food is excellent. But get it to go.. here s why: 1. Service: as a person in the service industry I literally have soooo much grace. I m not gonna be a Karen, I love pot. But maybe don t smoke it at work. Our server was more elevated than the Cobb, which woulda been cool had he remembered anything we told him. And the experience was all around awkward. He would awkwardly linger and make weird eye contact. Idk. 2. The place SMELLS.. like.. smells horrid. I honestly got up to puke once I was slightly hungover so I won t put the whole blame on you guys but man. Idk if it s the age of the building or what. 3. Full service bar, not a single thing to make bar drinks with UNLESS it s a featured drink kinda blows for the restaurant AND the patrons because there could be much more money made there. The bar is really nice. The place in general is just so amazing and such a missed opportunity. The good: the vibes of the place were amazing as most mellow mushrooms are. The spinach dip was the best in town, and the pizza was amazing.

The food was great, but the server didnt get the ladys drink order. We had to stop him and be like hey you didnt get their drunk order. So he proceeded to get their drink order but only asked one of them then started walking away again so we had to stop him a second time to finish getting the drink orders. I loved mellow mushroom in Arlington and Southlake but I will not be back to this location. **update** our server let us know that ac is controlled by corporate and they could not lower it current temp in the restaurant is close to 80 degrees.

Would be the top choice among all the pizza restaurants/places, I have tried in Denton area. The place is setup nicely, with cozy atmosphere, and unique look. Friendly staff, interesting 60s and 70s decor with same decades music. Pizza excellent. We had veggie pizzas with pepperoni added to one amd a mushroom pizza. Nice variety of salads to go with the pizza. My only complaint is that the spinach was too dried out. Maybe drop it on later in the bake time? They were very willing to make pizzas to your personal preferences.

This is the worst Mellow Mushroom we ve ever been to. The first time we went was ok but the service was horrible. When we received the bill the price was astronomically high. We discovered we were charged for each refill of tea/soda. We confronted the server and we re informed that was standard. Had we not been regulars at other locations we would have believed the server but we knew that was wrong. I went to the host stand and asked for a menu to find that at the top of the menu it says free refills . We confronted them and then they finally apologized. We went again today and as soon as we walked in we were greeted with a sewage odor. Multiple employees walked past us and never greeted us. The host took us to our table. When we sat down in the booth, the table was wobbly by about 3 inches. The host walked by and we asked for a different table and showed her the current table. She seemed slightly annoyed, didn t apologize and asked us if we could sit at a regular table instead of a booth. When we said we d prefer a booth she said she couldn t do that bc they rotate sections. With her being so annoyed with us we just left. Between not wanting to smell sewage or to feel like we are annoying I did not want to stay. While we love Mellow Mushroom, we will not return to this location.

Cool vibe - food great. Was a bit of a wait from ordering to food in table- however you could taste the love. The Denton Mello Mushroom has a sweet atmosphere for the whole family. Their bar area is kind of separate from the general seating area. They have a great selection of pizza choices, main dishes, and appetizers for everyone. They even have vegan options for you to choose from. If you like heavier crusts go with the original style pizza crust. If you like thin and crispy, like me, go for the thin crust. ;)

Horrible experience. Wait staff super slow and nonattentive. 2hrs for 2 pizzas and the whole place smelled of open sewer. Bathroom plumbing apparently had some issues. Didnt know it was legal to serve food with open sewer gas. The smell was so bad by the time we got the pizzas we all had massive headaches. We ate a couple of pieces and paid and got ourselves out of there. Never again.

Took way longer than what they said(15-20minutes longer). Has hazardous bench in front that I tripped over, they responded with 6-7 people have fallen over that, it s definitely a safety issue . Pizza got smooshed from fall and they didn t ask if I wanted another one. Defined need to remove that bench or add a backrest to it so people don t get injured, also extremely expensive for pizza that s just okay tasting.

i go here around once a month to eat- the pretzel bites are delicious and their pizza is a 7/10 (usually get a pepperoni). the vibes of the place are great but my only complaint is service is such a hit and miss and there s no telling if they re gonna have what you want like forks, ranch, etc.
