Went here for the first time and got asada street tacos with a sweet tea and it was delicious! The food didnt sit heavy on my stomach at all, and came to our table very fast, the salsa was perfect and our waitress was very kind didnt catch her name tho but she took good care of us!

I am sorry to report that we no longer live in Denton, but when we did, in retrospect, this was my favorite restaurant! The owner was friendly and greeted us kindly. My favorite dish was the good, old-fashioned bean and cheese burrito, but what made it special was the green tomatillo sauce that they put on top of the burrito. I never knew the awesome power of that little green tomatillo, but Mazatlans green tomatillo sauce definitely convinced me of it. Absolutely delicious! It was because of foods like this that convinced me to make this a favorite restaurant of mine in Denton, Texas. I am sure that the wife would agree! Salud!

Well, I was there with my wife and we ordered the food and before they served me I had to leave but I told my wife to order my yevar dish to eat at home. It turns out that when she was going to eat she uncovered the dish and it was only rice and beans. and lettuce salad and it was supposed to be a roast beef and thats why I paid 16 dollars I dont think Ill go back there

Visiting Denton for the weekend, and found Mazatlan Restaurant while driving to my son apartment. So while in town we stopped with My Wife, Son and Daughter. I looked up their google reviews before coming and saw four stars with good reviews so we decided to try it out. The restaurant has plenty of parking, the restaurant is small but has plenty of seating, with sports playing on tvs and texas mex music playing in the background. you can tell this is a family owned restaurant. The chips and salsa were tasty but thats about where the flavor ended and the quality of the food started to go down hill. We ordered a good variety of dishes from enchiladas, pollo en salsa, and a skillet of mixed fajitas. As mentioned the food lacked flavor and seemed premade not fresh, the tortillas were definitely from a package not home made, you can tell the restaurant may have been good at some point but the quality of the food was under par and more along the lines of quick food like taco casa with a more expensive price. We are from San antonio and know quality mexican food. We will definitely pass on this restaurant in the future while visiting Denton.

After eating the special, I got food poisoning and had to be hospitalized twice! It took me a couple of weeks to recover. We went to Mazatlan to celebrate our friend Batman on getting her GED today. And I have to say the service we got today was horrible and the waitress was horrible. She came back one time to ask if everything was okay. And never came back to ask if we needed anything else . She dropped a bowl that had green sauce in it and had a lemon in it from the water and just left the mess on the ground and never came back to clean it up. The picture shows it on the ground. I had to go to the restroom to get paper towels cause she never came back with any napkins . The owner never came over either . So in closing Mazatlan you have lost customer because of the service sucked today .

A staple restaurant in Denton, excellent food, the beef fajita chimichanga is superb, I get it naked with the sauce on the side so it stays crunchy, same for the chicken flautas which were crunchy-delicious. Their cheese sauce (queso) is legit. Great frozen margaritas and fresh salsa hits all the spots. You have to get the flan, it s was awesome!! The chimi-cheesecake with chocolate sauce was pretty good too. Great experience every time

Well it all started when everyone in the Restaurant received Chips, Queso and Salsa with their meals. We only got Chips and Salsa! The waiter rushed us to order and then didnt get our food order right! After getting our food, the waiter came back to our table one time. He was not the best...I dont think he really cared to give us good customer service. I asked the Manager a question about the service, he gave a lame answer with a smile. Later, he and the waiter were speaking in Spanish and looking at our table! I WILL NOT DINE AT THIS ESTABLISHMENT AGAIN and will spread the word. Sad, Sad, Sad!!!!

Overall a really enjoyable experience. Some waiters are better and more attentive than others, and some of the cooks are better than the others. I love this place! The restaurant is clean and comfortable. Service is great. We were quickly seated and our orders taken. They brought out Chips, Salsa and Queso! Yummy! The food is really good. We had: Beef & Chicken Fajita Burrito covered with Queso and served with Beans and Rice! Chili Releno Stuffed with Taco Beef covered in Queso and served with Beans and Rice! Hands down this place beat out most large Mexican restaurants I m Hispanic and when I tell you the chicken sour cream enchiladas were excellent I mean it. Moist seasoned chicken made with crema not sour cream the beans perfectly seasoned as well as the rice. Hot sauce had a kick to it but they also offered hotter sauce. Mexican street tacos fajitas were perfectly seasoned fresh cilantro and onions. Prices were decent and restaurant was clean. Thank you that this place exists within the area of Pilot Point Tx and Denton Tx well worth the trip you re not close by.

I LOVE Mazatlans! I generally order Fajitas, where they give you more meat than most other places these days. I have tried many of their other dishes and they are all amazing. My only complaints are that the queso is super bland and boring - probably because they have a lot of older diners that could not handle it with too much seasoning. That, and that your experience varies wildly depending on who you get for a server.

Service was absolutely incredible, never had to ask for anything because everything was offered to me before I even had a chance to think of asking. The prices were incredible and beyond worth it. The food was so amazing and authentic, the ambience was so comfortable. My husband and I were so content eating and hanging out and definitely plan to be back. My favorite place I ve been to in Denton. I had the shrimp enchiladas and my husband had the chicken and beef quesadillas and both portions were HUGE and delicious.

This is a very gross place. Major roach problems and cross contamination. Came in and noticed what looked to be a hair in the salsa. After bringing it to they re attention they said it was from the cleaning brush and they did they re best to remove the rest in other words your still gonna eat it just hope we filtered the hair out? Food is overall not good no tea taste or seasoning. Very cheap food very low quality. One of the worst spots in Denton.

I Was sadly disappointed in everything here. First off, the waitress was not very attentive. We ran out of chips and salsa before our food came, and she passed by us multiple times and even made eye contact without asking if wed like more. I had to flag her down to bring my husband more salsa. Secondly, the food was kinda sad. As a Mexican American who is very fond of tacos, salsa, beans, rice and just good mexican food, I was highly disappointed in the old el paso out of a box style taco shells on my crunchy tacos. I was expecting home made fried corn tortilla shells. The rice was flavorless the beans were dull and the salsa tasted like it was a jar of store bought pace salsa no heat at all. In conclusion im most disappointed I wasted a date night and our money here. It was no Bueno!

I prefer this TexMex restaurant in Denton. This is one of three owned by the same people and is definitely the one to go with. The food is good and consistent with a decent wait staff. The prices are up a bit but still stayed below 30$ for two. I always get the chicken fajita chimichanga and my wife switches between the shrimp cocktail and the stuffed poblano pepper.
