Whoever was working on 9/20 (I forget names), thank you! The employee who seated me was extremely courteous, and my waiter was kind and attentive. Your employees rule. I ate the smoked tenderloin cheesesteak sandwich with the house chips plus an order of the rooster tails. Everything was great. They have good deals on boozy drinks on the weekend, which was awesome. This was my first time visiting Denton, and Ill probably come back here if Im in town again! No regrets.

I searched for a local place with BBQ and found Roosters. We picked up lunch for three and it was excellent. It was very busy and parking is limited, but it everything we ordered was excellent. We enjoyed the brisket sandwich, pulled pork, grilled vegetables, okra and their awesome chips.

The food was amazing!! I got a chopped brisket sandwich and my girlfriend got the big mac which was on the specials menu today. The food was so good that me and my girlfriend barely talked the entire meal. Our waitress was so sweet and attentive, i never felt rushed or judged & the environment of the restaurant was aesthetic & comforting. As someone who s part of the LGBTQ+ community it is not easy to go to a BBQ place and not feel judged, however Roosters Roadhouse made me feel so welcomed. Great place to dine & I can t recommend it more!

Went for a quick bite. Split the brisket burger . It was delicious! Service staff was very friendly! Cool hole in the wall place in the downtown area of Denton. Definitely will be back to try other dishes. Also, the beer is served nice & cold! Give it a try!

Really great BBQ. Super reasonable prices. The queso with biscuit and home made chips was awesome. I had the Reuben sandwich with fries and it was incredible. Just the right blend of meat, sauerkraut, and corned beef with 1000 island dressing. The server was friendly and attentive. Highly recommended for fantastic, low key meal.

We sat on the dog friendly patio having a great time. Our waitress was Ritney. She was fantastic. Taking care of everything right on time. We will be back. Parking: Lots of street parking on both sides of the building. Kid-friendliness: We saw kids of all ages. Even the music was kid friendly

I typically love this place but today... Barely anyone in the place, 3 women and 2 guys standing in the server area... Our server seemed too busy to help us, when she did, she showed up already talking, dropped stuff off and walked away.. The guys had to step in and help. Burger was covered in salt, we couldnt get help so we just forced it down. While doing so, waitress showed up again, dropped off tickets and was off again back to the server area... again, almost no one in the restraunt. We finished our food, I put down a card to pay my bill.. the other person put down cash to pay for theirs... The waitress shows up and takes both, brings back not the right amount for of cash for the other person but has already left the table. Horrible experience. I understand bad days or days when it is slammed... It definitely wasnt slammed. Food was meh, Service was bad. I normally love this place, definitely not today.

The brisket queso on the nachos that gets mentioned in reviews is overrated, IMO. I tried the brisket and it was not very tender and had a hint of smoke flavor. Mediocre at best. For BBQ place, its not a place I would visit again.

3.5 the food, well it left much to be desired. I had the chicken fried steak, in itself wasnt baad but could and should have been elevated or made it hmm good w the country gravy, which in this case fell flatttt. So disappointing, however, my daughter ordered the pulled pork sandwich, which saved the day. I finished hers and she dug into mine. To different discerning palates. She did enjoy the sandwich too. She was just gracious enough to give it up for me. Happy eating or not. Now Go get your grub on. *****what we both enjoyed and finished was their something tails, now those were yummy even without the dip

We were in denton and wanted to try somewhere we hadnt been before and this place popped up on the old Google so we decided to give it a try. When we got there, there was instantly a very welcoming and friendly vibe to the place. There was indoor and outdoor seating but we decided to go indoor because you know..... texas summer. We werent sure what to expect as far as food goes but there is a good variety for just about anyone to be happy. I recommend the chicken fried steak sandwich. The waiter we had was absolutely awesome and the food was great especially for the prices. I was definitely surprised at how low the pricing was. If your looking for a great priced and great quality place to eat..... Id definitely recommend you giving them a try.

I got the 2-meat pit basket, this is half the meat they brought out. For $16, comes with 1 side. Its practically a kids meal. So your think its delicious or something to make up for it right? No. Its alright. Not bad, but not great, goodish at best. And the sides arent particularly better. Its very very mediocre. Came here twice while in the area for a wedding. The Pit Sandwich is the bomb and the home made potato chips were really nice as well. The service was friendly and there are a lot of interesting trashy decorations inside the restaurant which gave it a lot of characters. If a restaurant gave me the I wish we had this restaurant back home, it definitely deserves a 5 star rating.

I have been coming to Roosters for 2 yrs now. Tonight was nothing like before. We ordered our food and we waited, waited, and waited. I noticed that people were coming in and ordering and they get their food, when my order was already in. So, we tried to get the waitress and manager s attention. Nobody acknowledged us. Even though we waved and whistled. So, finally the waitress was walking by, and I said something to her. Yes, it s coming. More time goes by so, I called the bartender over and asked her to cancel my order. I explained to Kensie what was going on. No problem she said. Well all of sudden, our order comes out. The manager tells us that if we ever whistle at them again we would not be aloud to come back again and we would be banned, cause they are not dogs. We apologize for it told her that we were trying to get someone s attention, even after we were waving to them. If, they knew that we were waving and whistling. Why did they not come over then and said, not to be whistling, that they find that offensive? As, far as I m concern now. I might give them one more chance but I will be taking my business somewhere else. Every time I go in my bill is over 120.00 if not more. This is the first time it s been under 100.00.

Been a regular for years. Worst service possible. No respect for customers today. Tryed getting peoples attention by waving or whistling.no acnologdment..then when we wanted to cancel after 30 minutes waiting on food. Fat Tony did a great job serving us today. Asked her about different menu items and she was very knowledgeable. I tried the redneck sushi, it was very flavorful, I highly recommend. Followed it up with the 2 Meat plate, enjoyed the chopped brisket & pulled pork. With their onion ring pedals, very delicious. These reviews have got to be fake. This place was awful! The Taco Nachos are literally the same mini tacos you get from Costco with some pre shredded lettuce and premade pico on top. The brisket was dry and some parts of the sliced brisket had turned to jerky because it had been reheated too long in the microwave or oven. Ever see someone do a bend test on sliced brisket? This brisket was straight as a board. The premade brisket you find at the grocery store in a vacuum pack tastes better than this. The fact that this place was empty at lunch time should have been clue enough. Shame on these owners for their food quality. Shame on these owners for all the preprocessed food they just heat and serve.

If you like flank steak, you ll like their sliced brisket. The fried pickles tasted like fish. It looked like the BBQ was cooked on a skillet, rather than smoked and it was pretty chewy and flavorless. We went in expecting the best food, as it was hyped up to be but it was not at all good. We stopped on the way home from San Antonio to visit with family from Rockwall. This was a perfect place to meet and have a wonderful meal to go with it. The pulled pork is tender and juicy! Fried okra is really good as well. Would highly recommend this as a good restaurant for you to try out. Shelby was a wonderful server :) we had tamales as an appetizer. The chili on top was tasty and a fun combination with the tamale. Two meat plate with sausage and smoked turkey was delicious! Several of us dont typically like turkey and were all pleasantly surprised. There are wonderful little spicy pickles that come with it too! The fish sandwich had great breading on the fish, though the bread became a little soggy. Patty melt had a solid performance as well!

Burgers were greasy and substituting the fried pickles instead of chips won me over. Its kind of run down looking on the outside, but its nice inside. It has decent outdoor seating except for the smoking.

Our service was awesome. We always have a good time at roosters! I recommend the king brisket burger. Just make sure you bring an empty tummy cause its massive. Good thing is, it reheats in the oven just fine!! Rooster tails are delicious and I dont know if it was the heat, but the ice tea is top notch!

When you are a blue collar man working in 107 degree wether and you just get off work to try and get you a ice cold beer and they refuse to serve you but they served my girlfriend and had nats in there crown royal and proceeded to serve old stale liquor and was very slow on service would recommend Lsa right across the street

Downtown Denton didnt disappoint. This eclectic restaurant was super fun. From the quirky deco to the free peanuts just my kinda place So, the fried pickles were delicious. They nailed it. Several of us went and from what I saw, everyones portions were huge! Chez burger was big, double meat with cheese and a fried egg, and homemade chips 5 stars Parking: Limited parking, but its free.

This is a great place for a good tasty meal. Their Brisket Burger is a good mix of meat and flavor, while their Pit Sandwich is a tasty mix of meats. And while their homemade potato chips they normally come with are good, their Rooster Tails are even better. All this is served in a lively atmosphere. We will definitely want to come back here.

When you walk in, you are greeted by all of the staff. Our waitress was fantastic, she was attentive and nice. The brisket hash was absolutely amazing, I highly recommend it! The atmosphere was really cool, a fun typical roadhouse vibe that is surprisingly family friendly (So bring the kids!). Great place, great food.

We got a seat outside as it was drizzling and the weather was very nice and warm. We couldnt get the parking easily as there was a drone show at the Denton times square, we roamed around for 10mins and finally got parking at the free parking slots. We ordered two Miller Light and a couple of cocktails. For cocktails we requested a specific recipe, the bartender still managed to prepare one with the ingredients he has. Overall the drinks were fine. We ordered a chicken sandwich with fries, Rooster Tails ( beer battered onions with cockeyed sauce) and Queso with Salsa and chips. Salsa was not great but the cockeyed sauce was really good. The food was hot, crisp and perfect for the weather. It was still drizzling when we left but overall we liked the place and the food.

What a bad service!! A group of 5 steps into Roosters at 4:30 pm on a Sunday afternoon, and is being told that they cannot be seated at an open table for 8 (policy?) The Managers alternative: wait 30 minutes and well have two 4 seat tables to combine.... Boy am I glad she was not doing our check. Math is not her strong suit, nor is her service attitude my suggestion: look for a different alternative to Roosters

Weve been for lunch, dinner, weekends, weekdays it doesnt matter. Food is great, service is always good. Staff is friendly. Always clean... its a rustic place, so dont expect white linens and fancy glasses. But we love it!!
