While the food tastes ok the portion sized are kid sized when ordering to go. See the photos fo see the before and after of me having to assemble my own plate and the tiny portion that is. Simply put after eating i was more hungry than before. Horrible. Absolutely Horrible and for over 10.50 a total rip off. DO NOT EAT HERE unless they fix the portion sizes.

i overall had an amazing experience here at this dickeys! i took my husband and three kids here a couple of days ago and the staff was incredibly nice and informative! one of my kids spilt their drink everywhere and staff was more than willing to help us clean it. loved the overall atmosphere and our food was presented to us beautifully and fast!

Thieves. They are adding a charge called renew/recycle program without letting the customer know. When I asked about it, was told that is something they add and they cannot do anything about it. Be aware, they add this to your receipt and you ended handling your hard earned money to them for nothing. Stay away!

This has to be the worst restaurant in the city of Denton. The manager on duty 5/13 At 6:30 PM completely showed out and refused to take my order after they missed items on the DoorDash order. Hot garbage. The people who rate this highly are the same ones who rate a McDonalds burger highly. They clearly don t know what good BBQ is. Ribs literally fall off the bone which means they are overcooked badly. I know your uncle uses that term thinking it s a good thing. It s not. They taste boiled. Please do yourself a favor and get real quality BBQ just once. One time so you know how great it is and will then understand that this is McDonalds level food. Visit Hutchins BBQ in Frisco. Hard Eight. Ten 50. Or drive to Lockhart Texas.

The server was nice, the food and the atmosphere not so much. This was probably the worst BBQ Ive ever had. I used to eat a westerner for lunch once a week from the dickies near southlake and it was regularly good. This just had a bitter, off taste. I could barely finish my sandwich and didnt finish the potato salad, and I am poor and always finish my meals. Not eating here again. plus the music was a hair bit too loud and wayyyyy too country. but really the grade was about the food. I didnt enjoy eating it and i honestly feel tired and a little queasy now after the fact.

No orders no meat. I can understand things like that happening but why was able to place an order in the first place? Had the Friday special, pulled pork sandwich, one side, a big yellow cup. There was a lot of pork and it tasted amazing and the buns were toasted perfectly. I chose fried okra for my side and it was awesome. I used the spicy bbq sauce which was kept warm in a container with a lid over it. I dined in. The ladies working were friendly and the restaurant was clean. Glad I ate lunch here. Yumm-meeee!!!

This is NOT your typical Dickeys! My family has tried SEVERAL Dickeys locations over the years, and none of them have had edible food. My parents discovered this place a month ago when they drove up to Denton to pick me up from college; they were so hungry they stopped at the first open place which was this Dickeys. They went into it assuming the food would be below average at best, but they called me shortly after saying it was some of the best bbq they ever had! We went today and I tried it, and I can honestly agree. I had the 1 meat turkey plate with Caesar salad and baked potato casserole, and it s definitely one of the better meals I ve had at a restaurant. The meat was tender, the casserole was cheesy and the salad had just the right amount of cheese and dressing. It also came with a buttered roll that melted in my mouth! My mom also had turkey but with mac and cheese and sweet potato fries best fries either one of us have ever had! I forgot what my dad had, but we cleaned our plates and left stuffed! Best dickeys ever, seriously amazing bbq and service!

I went in late morning but before the lunch rush. The place was clean and the staff was friendly. Ordered to go and figured everything would be fresh. Ordered a full rack. About half of the rack was fresh, and the other half seemed like it was warmed over from yesterday. Its a little disappointing! A horrible organization. We ordered food on 4th of July. Im terminal so it was my last 4th of July BBQ. They were supposed to be open 2 more hours. They took my order and money and wjen we got there the doors were locked! So, with my $40 tied up that they already took, my husband and I didnt get our last 4th of July BBQ together. Heartbreaking! We love Dickeys. Three stars are based on our experience tonight We always go earlier, so we have never paid attention to the hours; until tonight. We were craving some Dickeys BBQ. Update catered for the my construction team, This place caterd $14 per person and guys raved how smokey the meat is and best price hands down dickeys is always consistent ...called around and everyone is charging $25per person to cater and those maw/paw bbq places will close down. Perfected Texas BBQ! Great food, clean restaurant, great service!!! You need to go out of your way and have BBQ at this place! They don t hold back on flavor or portions! The curbside pick up is non-functional/dysfunctional. I arrived a few minutes prior to my scheduled order time which was 3:45pm. The order tracker on their website said they were packing up the order. At 4:11pm it still said they were packing up the order, so I finally decided to go in to check on it. I stood in line through 4 people ordering to discover that my order was just sitting there. They made no apology at all when I said I ve been waiting and the system has said packing up order for 27 minutes . I m not impressed and with prices the way they are, places really need to up their customer service game. As far as the food goes, the chicken and pork ribs were good, the brisket was dry, those aren t biscuits (they re hockey pucks), putting cheese and scallions on top of mashed potatoes does not make it a casserole(!), the mac n cheese was adequately cheesy but not very flavorful, and our desserts were incorrect. We ordered a cookie and rice crispy treat but ended up with a blondie (ok, I like those) and something that smelled like coffee cake, but was undercooked batter in the middle (had to trash it). For us, this was a big miss and we won t be back. YMMV

I have always liked Dickys but I dont have one near where I live so when my husband and I went to Denton today we decided to get an order to go. We get 2 sliced bar-b-q sandwiches and a large order of onion rings. I was very disappointed, half of our sandwiches was fat and the onion rings were so over cooked that only onion skins were inside. Everything was so greasy, even the wrappings. This was an expensive lesson, 22.00, for a really bad meal. We wont be back nor will I ever recommend Dickys to anyone.

I thought it was just horrible. They are upcharging if you get brisket in which I did and my sandwich was more than half fat. When I told the young lady that if they are going to upcharge I should have actual meat not fat. She just looked at it and me and said nothing. I am appalled that it was not fixed to a standard better than this. Keep in mind I had the little hoagie so that about a three inch bun and the photo included will show just how much fat was on that small sandwich. Upcharged to chew fat. Gross. Update: Dickeys Customer support reached out and sent me coupon for free sandwich and ribs. I go back to the restaurant to eat again for Ive eaten here many times so maybe just a bad day that day. Get up to counter and show coupon and lady says oh no we dont accept those here. This location has gone very downhill. The last time I ordered from here I made an order for delivery. Got a turkey sandwich with big yellow cup offer along with a Monday special which is a $4 pulled pork sandwich. When it arrived my drink flavor was wrong, I only received the turkey sandwich and a giant cup of barbecue sauce that I did not order. I called back and talked to the manager, who was a woman whose name I do not remember. She basically accused me of lying saying I got what I paid for. I told her that that was not true and that she could look on their website to see that the Monday special was a $4 pulled pork sandwich not a giant cup of barbecue sauce. She kept telling me to calm down when I wasnt being rude nor belligerent to her and basically acted like I didnt know what I was talking about. Update - The store manager never called as promised when I contacted the store after discovering the order was wrong. As to the reply from Dickeys below this response, I replied but there has been no response to that either. Waited in line with only two people in front of me for almost 25 minutes. Waited on order for another 25 minutes. Staff member tried to give my order to a table (mine was a to go order). She gave me the order, read off the contents which matched my order, and I left after almost an hour. I should have checked before I left! I thought since they were making one order at a time, I would be safe. Nope! Paid for brisket - with an upcharge on two items - and I got smoked turkey and a stuffed baked potato with ZERO meat. Called the restaurant and was promised a call back. Nothing yet.

Made a to go order in advance on mothers day as part of our plan to celebrate the day. When I arrived there was no clear sign were to wait for pick up orders. I asked a Staff member where to wait and was told to stand by the register. The staff member taking orders didnt seem to be concerned by the line out the door and slowly took the in resturant orders. I waited for what felt like 10 minutes for my order and them told I would have to wait for the register to open up. The Customer there had a large order so it was a wait. Then when I went to pay the customer in the next line pulled a Karen and startled shouting at me The staff allowed this woman to control the operations and went ahead of me. I waited a total of 30 minutes to check out. My Togo order was fully cold by then. The resturant clearly needs a Togo system and if another customer becomes outrageous dont bend to them.. This is how we get Karens in the first place.

The two is for taste that was good. Now the rest is just sad I mean if I pay 30 dollars for a meal thats what i expect. The sandwich was kid size and a kid i am not. The 3 meat plate was also kid size I dont know who they think they are feeding but its not Adults. For the cost of it I was very disappointed. Well stay away from these kid meals.

Food was ok but the wait time when I went to pick up the food was way too long. About 5 minutes before I got there, the tracker told me my food was done and being packed. But when I arrived they told me it would be a few minutes, which was fine, until that few minutes turned in to 15 minutes. And during that 15 minutes i watched them still cooking some of my order...so the tracker was not even close to accurate and I ended up waiting longer than I shouldve. Sorry but the food wasnt good enough for me to be a returning customer after this experience.

I regularly eat at the Dickeys in RR, Denton, Tx. I think they have the absolute BEST pulled pork of any BBQ restaurant! Their brisket stuffed potatoes are good, too.

The food is always great, but always charge you 2 dollars more for some reason: because its suppose brisket is more expensive, then because the ribs are more expensive, etc., but never tell you until you review your ticket.

Ordered rib plate says its five ribs on the menu and I get home to discover not only is one missing but these things could be used to start a fire there so dry. Same as the last time. I wount be ordering ribs from here any more.

The first time was during the day and food was good and the staff awesome & friendly The last time we went was after 4pm and the service was horrible and everything was old tasting, plus service was horrible. Basically what do you want and get out. Go during the day!

Went for the Denton Location and tried to order the special posted on the Dickies website, 2-2 meat combos for $24.00. They told me it was only available for online orders. I went to the app and registered only to find out it was not listed as an option. I told the cashier and was told we re sorry . I will not go back, Rudy s or Springcreek will be my choice next time.

BEWARE! After you order, you find out that theyre adding a $2 surcharge for brisket claiming its due to the brisket shortage that ended a couple months back. Doesnt matter whether youre getting a brisket plate or sandwich. There is no notice of this surcharge posted anywhere. And the brisket we got was dry and tasteless. Might explain why the place was empty when I walked in at 6:15 on a Saturday evening.
