i was having the worst day ever, i got fired from my job, my cat died, i got into a car wreck, just not a good day. i went to mi cocina my fav place literally ever as my pick me up and vanessa was my server. it instantly brighten my day seeing her beautiful face and the service was amazing too. after experiencing her service my day was so much better i instantly forgot about my horrible day. 10/10 service give her a raise please

The food exceeded my expectations!!! What made the experience 5 stars was the incredible service we received from Abby and Heather! Abby was our server and Heather delivered our food. They both created a wonderful dining experience for us. They checked on us regularly, refilled our beverages, refreshed our cocktails and always smiled. Many times restaurants get the food right, but don t have great service, ultimately a great meal involves the entire dining experience. The managers were always visible. We will definitely return, great job!!!

So I went to try Mi Cocina and I gotta say it was delicious!!! I was seated and my server Daniel attended everything and gave perfect service along with the manager Fernando. When I got my food, let me tell you it was great!!! The shrimp brochette is a must try. Will be coming back again and recommending to friends and family about Mi Cocina

Saw the number of highly rated reviews and gave this place a go. The atmosphere is nice and the service is great, but the food is absolutely lacking. The chips are very starchy and have a strong aftertaste. The salsa is bland and lacks a lot of the kick and freshness that a lot of other local places have. We also had enchiladas, and quesadillas and even those were lacking a lot of flavor. The rice is was good, but the beans were not even fully mashed and almost whole, sunset and chile chicken enchiladas were chewy and flavorless. The cheese enchiladas were too oily and the cheese didn t taste fresh at all. I really wanted to like the food and ordered plenty to get a good grasp of the taste but we never could enjoy the food.

I have given a lot of thought before writing this review but, after speaking to several of my family members and colleagues we have decided to let you all know the semi- terrible experience we had on Father s Day. (How else do I expect you all to improve) After a beautiful day enjoying the lake and we met this couple that was bragging about Mi Cocina on what a great place it was to enjoy a great meal. So, we decided to try it out hostess greeted us with a great smile and sat us pretty quickly ( there was a few crumbs under the table but nothing to be worried about) got chips in salsa and the young lady told us that server should be right out to get our drink order. We were really impressed and how well everything was going until we realized that 5 minutes had passed and no server had yet been to our table. As we were looking everywhere we would see servers standing around and more servers across a wall laughing and what looked like writing on a book also saw a male manager (was nicely dressed) walk right passed us and sit on a table with a other female who had a peach or pinkish shirt. At this point we figured they were customers as well till we saw them both walk into the kitchen what appeared the kitchen. During that time all we can here is who has table 22 from different servers and no one would bother to come and check on us. After a long 7-8 minutes our server arrived got us our drinks food came out pretty quickly it was very tasty but still can t get the first bad 10 minutes out of my head what appeared a day of celebration for Fathers Day ended up ruined. No manager check up My daughter is a manager in Pappadeaux in McAllen so we are aware of how crazy it can get working in a restaurant but to have servers asking who has mesa 22 and no one to claim it and help other fellow workers so that customers don t have to wait and leave with a bad taste is unacceptable. Mi Cocina do better after traveling 8 hours and having the privilege to meet wonderful people rave about your food and how well everything is and realize that it was a waste of time driving to try it. And for those two managers that were there at our time of visit no wonder servers don t care about teamwork or what happens it all starts from you all (I would know you re names if you all had the time to visit our table). Get your stuff together or Mi Cocina time to think about a new management that does care customer perception and word of mouth is everything and number one in marketing these days.

We were tired hungry and thought fajitas. Taro was closed along with 2 other good restaurants. So I tried mi cocina. Big mistake. I placed the order picked it up. The meat was barely done but there wasnt much of it. The veggies were barely warm,pictures below.

I decided to stop by Mi Cocina after a long day of work. My goal was to catch up on work emails and finalize plans for the next quarter of business. I have heard that Mi Cocina was a great restaurant but i was skeptical at first if i would be able to follow up on work emails here. Upon entering, the host greeted me immediately and was quick to provide me a table despite how busy they were. I wanted to sit at the bar but it was full, then she informed me they have tables for the bar area. After taking my seat i was able to see how much variety the restaurant provided. The bar was its own area, sat perfectly between a patio area and the fine dinning area. All three atmospheres felt separate yet blended together just right. My waitress, Carolina wasted no time getting to me to take my order. Water along with chips and queso was provided almost in sync. Just as quickly as she had left, my margarita had arrived. I ordered a small snack, the nachos and Im certain that these are the best nachos Ive ever had. My waitress along with the rest of the staff provided me with excellent service and i never felt without. Best of all, the music and crowd blended in perfectly. It was lively, yet not distracting. A perfect place for dinner, an after work margarita, or a place to finish your day. Parking: Despite that the police is always busy, Youll have a hard time not finding a parking spot. Wheelchair accessibility: Multiple handicap spots, with wheel chair access directly in front of the building.

Been coming here for years. Tonite the food was seriously on point, our server Olivia was sweet, attentive and friendly. Had a very very good experience at this particular location, our server Josalyn was on point with our service best server out of everyone else there, she is top tier just how Real Madrid is top tier she is up there as well!
