This is the perfect place to grab a drink after work! I have had lunch here twice and had multiple appetizers and shared meals (had to try all of them)!! This place is definitely worth going to and they are priced so well.

I live in the neighborhood and have driven by this place.Many times its on center street and man.I will tell you.I was amazed by the food by the amount you get by the quality of the food by the wait service, I wished I had come here sooner it was amazing. There are some good deals on the menu and of course on Sundays.There were a lot of appetizes that are half price. The cooks go out of their way to make your food look amazing.And the amounts of food is just minds staggering. I recommend this place highly its excellent. Oh yes They have draft Who doesnt like that???? I ordered the. Gumbo with the poboy sandwich. Is loaded with And my significant other ordered another Dish And it was totally amazing

Tv was hella loud, got the crawfish Étouffée the rice had clumps of uncooked rice in it, we ordered the kids seasonless fries and still got seasoned fries, shouldn t feel bad for asking waitress to keep bringing food back that was wrong, wasted a lot of time and food here. Seems they re all kids running the place I think it was the bartender kept giving my wife looks very uncomfortable, very unprofessional, place has been around forever in DP. Can t believe after the service still this bad it s still standing, turning into Pasadena a day at a time

Our first visit to this restaurant was disappointing, despite its 4-star rating on Google. The server was attentive and kind, but the seafood boil was flavorless, and the shrimp wrapped in bacon had too much cream cheese, overpowering the jalapeño flavor and also flavorless on the shrimp. We had to return our food, and the manager didnt seem to care, even laughing with the cooks in the kitchen. Unprofessional management led us to decide not to return.

Ok, the food is what brings us here. We have been here maybe 6 or 7 times now. We have met the owner and he is nice. The staff is really hit or miss. Sometimes the person is personable and sometimes it is just someone taking an order. Deff should work on that. But the FOOD. This place fried fish is more like british fish and chips style that I MISS from living overseas. The gumbo is pretty good. Top five in the Houston area would say that I have been to. Everything we get is good. Dont expect five star, but this is solidly good food!

Kaylee was absolutely phenomenal! Such an incredible server and we will return and ask for her!! A must for Crawfish and other seafood! The staff is very attentive and friendly. Food comes out fast. They have live bands which I like, but they tend to have the music very loud making it hard to hear and speak to the people at your table. You literally have to yell. If it wasnt as loud it would be perfect.

Great place, good atmosphere, great food, great people who actually care about others and helping to the best of their ability. You can eat inside or outside on the patio deck, the drinks are not watered down like they are at most places, and the shrimp are AMAZEBALLS. The manager Al is a great guy, with a good heart and though the food is a little out of my price range, its definitely worth it and compared to every other seafood place Ive been to in my lifetime, altogether, this one is in my top 5.

This place used to be awesome. Last three visits total strike outs. Im never going back. The last three times I have been, they took my order, and waited until we had drinks to tell us that they didnt have half the stuff we ordered. Then they left the items on the bill anyway. Also, check out the party thats going on in the kitchen. About 20 people hanging out, hooping, hollering, laughing. Not much working going on, but good for them, I guess. People hanging out back there with open toe shoes. Gross.

I ve been coming here for a few years now & my most recent experience left me highly disappointed. Waited over an hour to be seated on the patio which I didn t completely mind because inside with the extremely loud live music is a tad obnoxious. The flow of how food is delivered just makes zero sense. We ordered an appetizer that came out at the end of our meal that we asked to be checked on multiple times AND it was majority wrong - boudin link, buffalo shrimp, & fried pickles. We received boudin link, buffalo chicken & fried jalapeños .? The receipt showed the waiter rung the order in correctly, so idk why the kitchen messed that up. We still ate it with no complaints because none of us wanted to wait for it to be re made. My friend ordered a shrimp po boy that took forever to come out instead of being delivered with the other entrees & really, y all use popcorn shrimp for that..Why. Kids meal came out first, way before anything else did which was fine to keep him occupied. My biggest complaint is trying to understand the price of the Guidry special for $63. Looking back, when you price everything out separate, it s cheaper to buy things individually?! 1 lb crawfish $7.99/market, 1 lb shrimp $19, 1/2 lb sausage $8, 1/2 lb snow crab $17/market = about $53 where is the other $10 coming from & how is that even a special at that point. I know the one corn & potato did not cost no $10. Should it of came with two crab clusters? I am so confused & pissed off. & the crab was over cooked so it all stuck & was a pain to get out. & to make it more expensive, $6 for four mushrooms, that s a joke. I can t only complain on this review because I love their food & the flavor is always on point when we get crawfish which is why we ve returned year after year. Our waiter was great & we never had to ask for refills but he was swamped & you could tell.

Always loved the food. Went there last week for dinner. Ordered boudin and gumbo. Boudin came out and finished it. Kept asking our waiter for the gumbo. Each time he told us he d check on it. When he brought our check he said the kitchen was cooking more. 5 times I asked him about it. Didn t even get an apology. Needless to say, never got it. Never came back to our table to check on us. Horrible service. Do better Guidry s.

Been here two times and both times service is horrible. Food is good but service needs major improvement, 1 hour to get appetizers and 1 hour after the food. Such a great place for the bad service. Got appetizers and waited 20 minutes to get forks because they didn t have any, then plastic utensils were brought out. No refills, beer takes 20 min each time. We ordered appetizers fried pickles and mushrooms. It s all fried and they took forever to get that out. Our food came out first before our appetizers did. Then my sisters food took more than 20 min for it to come out. I m not sure why it would take so long. And all the waitress kept saying is if she goes back there to ask about her food they are just going to get mad at her. Which is odd to me. Unless she forgot to put in the order. Then when she finally got her food after we were practically almost done with ours and she was still missing something and we just told the waitress to cancel it. This was my first time there heard great thing about this place but don t know if I ll be going back again. We asked to speak to the manager and he never came by to talk to us. Came here with a group of folks from work, the good itself is phenomenal but after that a lot of things were left to be desired. The service was overall chaotic, and further it seemed like there werent systems in place to give people both their food and their drinks in a timely manner. It took awhile for us to be seated, even though one of us had reserved tables ahead of time. After one of us complained enough about it (I think twice) it got slightly better. Parking: Parking is a hit or miss here. Kid-friendliness: Seemed kid friendly enough, although we ate outside and inside it seemed a little loud, music wise. Idk if that loud music could overwhelm a child depending on their age.

I orders to go, asked for Stuffed Shrimp because it s lent and Friday, they gave me the shrimp en brochette that has bacon on it. Please have your hostess look over the menu so they know what they re supposed to be charging people for. Crawfish prices are a little over the top along with their boiled shrimp prices. But Guidrys has the absolute best tasting shrimp and crawfish around. They also have a delicious drink menu. I want to start by saying that the service was amazing. The food was a completely different story, they claim to be a Cajun restaurant, but there were no spices aside from their house seasoning. Asked for crab boil so the gumbo would taste better, yup don t have it. The fried gator bites were tasteless, aside from the flour. The boudin balls were horrible, the corn and potatoes were just steamed with no spices. Please if you re a person that likes Cajun food do not pay attention to the reviews, the food is terrible.

On the first visit, the rice was either under or over cooked. The gumbo was fair. It would have, I think, been great if it had been cooked longer, not that anything was raw. The Catfish Bites were excellent. In fact, they were so great I came back 2.5 hours later and got another order. I am looking forward to my next visit and will be trying the gumbo again. The service here was friendly and attentive. Had no issues, even with coming in for a quick bite to eat.

I treated a co-worker to a retirement lunch, he chose Guidrys. My other co-worker ordered oysters, they werent done right too much cheese and no flavor. I ordered shrimp and fish with mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes was horrible, even the waitress asked if I liked them because she saw I wasnt eating them. Im glad they still served my food with fries. The fries werent even Lukewarm though. The waitress told us they had a new cook. I think the waitress who noticed we werent eating most of the food and told us they had a new cook, she should have taken off the non eaten food or offered a discount. I paid $95 plus tip on a disgusting lunch. That was my first and last time eating there.

Today I got one of the specials, habanero mango shrimp tacos, and they were quite delicious. The chicken and sausage gumbo was very good as well. We had Cajun Fried catfish and it was delicious. There was 4 large filets and the batter was light. The filets were meaty and not thin as you get in most places. He had the Dirty Rice which was very tasty and much to my surprise they served Collard Greens which I love. As much as I tried to eat it all I ended up getting a take out container.

Love to come in when I m back on the East side for catfish bites. Just sat at the bar for 20 minutes with not a single word spoken to me or any acknowledgment. Three different servers looked me dead in the face multiple times. Amazing!! Cannot be more dissatisfied.

This was my first time going. Food was excellent. And they were definitely not stingy on the amount. We had the sample appetizer and the chicken & sausage gumbo. Everything was great. Definitely going back again very soon.

Pistolette had a great crunch and flavor! Stuffing was very thin and too much. The stuffing could have been in two biscuits which would have been perfect! I had a shrimp and crab boil. Shrimp was rubbery, and you can tell both were boiled from frozen. The clarified butter was from a jug and tasted old. Very overpriced for the quality. Music was awesome! 90s play list which I love! I would go back for a beer and a pistolette only.

Great food, and the service was impeccable! The gentleman that served us was more than superior, he was one of the best servers I have had in the last 20 years ANYWHERE!! I dont know if he was an actual server. He seemed like a manager. Either way, he was great. The food was amazing as usual. Definitely give Guidrys a try if you want great service and food!

Super fresh oysters,had a dozen on the half shell, really nice, nothing beats a Texas coast oyster. The fried catfish was really nice, with a lite corn meal breading, and the fried oysters were really good. The seafood gumbo was flavorful but needed a little kick for my tastes, Louisiana hot sauce took care of that. Definitely a place Id return to.

Got both items wrong on simple To Go Order of: Bowl of jambalaya - got a cups worth; 1/2 crawfish 1/2 etouffee; got 1/2 etouffee with rice looks like a microwave TV dinner. Not worth $35. Check your To Go bags before you leave. Probably a nice place to have a beer after work. Could have had better meal at a gas station or a sick cat bowl.

Great Gumbo one of the best Ive had! Had the chicken sausage gumbo and the roux was delicious, I would buy it by the boatload if I could! Just delicious. The chef salad was delicious and very fresh. Will definitely return again and will make this restaurant my go to Gumbo place.
