We came by on a early Wednesday evening and had the pleasure of being served by sommelier Richard! He was very knowledgable and his passion for it was shown immensely in our conversations. Super friendly and would love to come again! Definitely ask for Richard if you plan on stopping by.

I can t here during restaurant month of my aunt for my birthday and we got the steak. I got the potstickers and then also a chocolate lava cake by my aunt got the crème brûlée. Personally, I would recommend the crème brûlée over the lava cake just because the crème brûlée included delicious raspberry sauce and the chocolate lava cake also includes a raspberry sauce. There s not enough raspberry sauce for every single bite of chocolate lava cake cake, and the chocolate lava cake is extremely rich to the point you wish you had a glass of milk. It was steaks, considering you had planned you thought it would ve been a little bit faster but overall the service was pretty solid and everybody was really nice there. We went on a slow night as well so there was only two or three other tables beside us.

Very nice friendly server, Yerson. My friends and I went during Restaurant week. The salmon, asparagus, and brussel sprouts were delicious. I would give a five rating, however the restroom being centered right outside of the cook area was not appealing, provided a safety hazard. Lots of water on the floor leading to the restroom. Be very careful not to slip/fall.

Amazing food and great wine flights. They were able to fit us in on a busy Friday night as well. I recommend the Pear and Gorgonzola pizza with Prosciutto on top. Surely one of the best pizzas Ive ever had. Great place for a date night or a night out with friends.

We had a weird experience. Went on a Friday night and there was no music. Bar manager was stocking the entire time, breaking down boxes. Garbage was taken out and the garbage can was rolled through the restaurant. The small table tent showing their specials was literally falling apart. Our waitress was pleasant but halfway through the service she never came back. We had to flag her down to get our check. Would like to add that the food and appetizers we had were very good. But I would not recommend for a nice date night or special occasion.

Have been to this location many times but tonight was a bad one. We had received an email stating that they have fresh flown in wild Halibut from 7/20-7/31. I love halibut so my husband and I reserved a table for two and drove down to the Cru on McKinney. We ordered wine flights, a meatball appetizer that were good, and our halibut dishes at the same time. We had the appetizer and wines first. After about 40 minutes, our super nice waitress came over and said that the chef told her there s only one piece of halibut left and she apologized profusely. We said to her that we drove down (40 minute drive from Frisco west) just for the fish. We told her we don t think it s her fault but the kitchen staff/chef should have informed her when we put the order in and not after 40 minutes. We agreed to have the one halibut dish and my husband ordered the Salmon. The food finally came but my halibut was not fresh as I smelled the fishy smell right away. Also I tried to cut into it with my fork and it was bouncy and hard. My husband s salmon was a small tail piece (usually we ve had the center cut). When the waitress came to our table and asked how things were we told her the issues. She went to the kitchen to talk to the chef and came back to tell us that we could order something else if we want. At that point we were ready to leave so she comped our food. We left her a tip based on what our total would have been since it was not her fault and we left. A very disappointing experience at a place that we ve always had good food experience.

Stopped by for lunch and initially ordered the chicken sandwich they were out of buns so I got the grilled cheese and tomato soup. I was impressed with the the sandwich. It s a thick cut of I believe a sourdough and the taleggio cheese is mild taste and melted really well. The tomato soup was good too, nothing special though. Service was decent. They have some other items I want to try so I will be back.

My boyfriend and I visited last night for the valentines day special. To start off, Zach, our server was 1 in a million, extremely attentive, hard working, kind, personable and all around above and beyond any standards we had. Thank you Zach for making our night easy and quite pleasant. The ambiance of the establishment is extremely comforting to walk into, dim, warm lighting with a very pleasing interior design. The courses that we had all shined in their own way, seasoned well and plated beautifully. Overall the food was a definite 8.5-9/10 and Service 11/10. Will be back for sure!

My colleagues and I visited this establishment on 10/19/22 it was a lot of our first time experiencing Cru located in the west village Dallas TX (highly suggested by our manager whom was with us). The service was the worst experience we ever received I personally never felt so out of place in my life. The 1st waitress a young lady I didnt catch her name seemed to have an attitude when we were seated not making eye contact, huffing and puffing complaining putting us off, rolling her eyes, barely speaking to us. (NOPE... it wasnt busy that would be totally understandable) Then when asked who was the manager a guy by the name Mark claimed to be the MOD. But even he was rude and off putting I decided that I would order my wine from the bar because it was a lot of confusion as to why we were being treated like we shouldnt be there. We continued to try and enjoy ourselves despite what was in our faces. Carry on about a hour later everyone who ordered at the table are making final orders. Mr. Mark (Manager) took the orders and then spoke to me at the table (in front of my boss and colleagues) and said you can go back to bar to order my drinks because he isnt taking it (Funny because I never asked him too). My manager looked and was shocked she proceeded to go to restroom so that we can just leave because the experience she was trying to show the HR/Payroll Team wasnt pleasant. While she is in the restroom she overheard Mark (Manager) speaking ill to his staff about our table saying things like they are requesting stuff like wine & food (umm which is confusing lol) when he came to the table she let him know that it was totally unprofessional and hurtful to speak about customers like that. Service was friendly. They had options to get wine by the bottle, by the glass, or by the flight of 3 different samples. We decided to each order a flight, I got the bubbly wines and my boyfriend got a flight of reds. It was a fun experience to taste and compare the different wines. It was great to enjoy a nice charcuterie board with our wine too, so many places that serve wine do not have any charcuterie options on the menu. Buffalo wings just dont hit the same with a nice glass of wine. I wouldnt call it over priced for what it was, but you should expect to spend at least $60 for 2 people to enjoy some wine and an appetizer. Ambiance was classy, they had indoor and outdoor seating.

Terrible service. You d think working mostly on tips would give one the incentive to actually ..work. The inside was completely empty and there were maybe 6 tables outside. I was told they were too busy, as large parties had arrived. This was after I watched patrons, who arrived after me ..get served. Anyway - there s plenty of decent wine bars in the area. I will not be back to this one. Side note: This place reminds me of that restaurant downtown, Dick s Last Resort. They purposely treat you poorly as a joke there. The only difference with Cru is that it s not a joke. Take your hard earned money else where!

Came to have wine to celebrate my business opening and we waited and waited to get service. Tables who came after us, were getting service before us. The servers saw us and kept walking without acknowledgement. We went inside to ask for service and we were given attitude. Maybe because we were the only Latinos there. We left to Barcelona wine bar. Last night was my first night eating at Cru. Although the food was delicious I had a few issues. My coffee came with grounds in it. I know you use a pressed coffee thing but there were grounds in my coffee and my husbands nothing worse than grounds in coffee to ruin the pleasure of drinking coffee. My biggest complaint, however is the unisex bathrooms. The bathrooms were disgusting with pea on the floor and on the seat and no paper towels to dry my hands. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make his and hers bathrooms. I hate going to a bathroom after a man. I once walked in a unisex bathroom while it was occupied by a man who didn t look the door. THE WORST

I we had our New Years dinner at Cru yesterday evening. The food was excellent, but I expected more from the service , we explained that we wanted the 75 dollar option for food and a glass of champagne, we were still charged 125.00. They ran out of soup and still charged full price when I said I m allergic to dairy the waiter ignored me and still have to go dessert instead of suggesting an alternative or even explanation. Just because it s a holiday doesn t mean you can provide subpar service, we won t be trying this location again. It s less about the money spent and more about feeling cheated. We did not request a whole bottle of champagne when (we mentioned we wanted a glass we had plans after which included drinking) we just wanted to be safe, my boyfriend is so shy therefore he didn t even feel comfortable saying anything after he asked about it and the waiter walked off, and we didn t want confrontation to spoil the night. Update- The manager gave me a call and was very apologetic and understanding. I understand things happen and I am grateful for the customer service provided to resolve this. Although I was not looking for anything free or any discounts and simply wanted to provide feedback, it was a nice gesture to remove the charge for the bottle. Thank you for giving me a call, we will give it another shot.

My friend brought me to his go to place for great wine and food. I dont drink but I give this place 5 Stars! Sundays you get 1/3 of the bottle of wine off! I had the Chicken Piccata and my friend had the ribs. we also had the lobster pot stickers for our starter. The food is Amazing. Asia and Amanda made my first time experience one to remember. Wine was ok, service was ok, ambiance was ok, restrooms were... Ok. It was just a very ok experience at a very average price point for a wine bar. Went yesterday with a friend; she had the streak, I had the chicken, we both did flights and glasses of wine and we simply caught up with each other. If youre already in the area and just need a place in a pinch then its excellent for that but theres no need to journey out to CRU when there are so many wine bars in Dallas with better food, wine, and personality. Not a bad experience whatsoever, just not special or interesting in any way.

Listen . This is by far the best wine bar I ve been to in sooooooo long. The vibe is everything. It s a cute little restaurant with some of the sweetest servers. We experienced the worst service at Cru at West Village. Our server was not attentive and showed little interest in his job whatsoever. He spilled water on my husband and the entire table and didn t bother to help clean any of it up. The server was uninformed of the happy hour menu and when asked questions about it or which wine he recommended he said he didn t know . We watched our server eat his own food in the kitchen instead of checking on us and asking us if we needed more water, wanted to order an appetizer/food or get another wine flight before happy hour ended. Overall the experience was poor and I would not recommend.

My friends and I where their for a bachelorette dinner and we had so much fun! Our server was so kind and nice from the beginning until the end. The wine was delicious. I got the pizza which was salty but paired well with the wines. We had champagne and got the around the world sampler. All the customers were talking with each other. I decided to check this place out after looking into local wine establishments while in town and the weather only permits indoor activities and I regret it. Staff didnt seem welcoming to my kind, entire staff looked at me and my friend like we didnt belong and it was hands down the most awkward experience weve had in a long time. We had a reservation and everything and still did not feel welcomed. Wasn t greeted, just looked at funny. We decided to leave right back out. Server then said have a great day with a perk once we did decide to leave which was strange. Wanted others who are contemplating on going here to know what the experience could possibly be like before wasting a drive. Went to Barcelona Wine Bar in the area immediately after this with no reservation and had the complete opposite experience. Would strongly recommend going there over here. Worst service ever..it was a birthday surprise with dinner for 9 people, had to wait for 90mins and still our food was not done yet, there were no manager (sunday night), the server was so rude and unprofessional plus she lied and claimed that the bartender is the manager! Ruined the whole plan..do not recommend! Very bad experience!

Upscale wine bar in West Village. Nice selection of wines by glass, bottle and even some flights. Food menu was decent but didnt have alot of options for those with dietary restrictions. Felt overpriced for the portion size and quality of doshes. I ordered the mussels and while the flavor of the broth was delicious many of the mussels were dried out or closed comepletely. Restaurant area is very small and feels crowded but the servers were friendly, knowledgeable and provided great service.

Went to Cru Food and Wine Bar yesterday for a late afternoon meal. What can I say but it was fantastic. The service was very personal and completely wonderful. A perfect weather fall day so we sat outside on the patio. The food was impeccable, kudos to the chef. We started with lobster and shrimp pot stickers that were to die for. Afterwards I had their salmon dinner and my wife had some kind of cheese plate with various meats and small toast with spicy mustard. The way our food was seasoned was like something from a TV food show. To complement the food we had some California red blend wine. Only way to describe our experience was perfect. We will be back for sure.

Went here for dinner and had a mediocre experience. Drinks came out very quickly but it took over an hour after we ordered for dinner to arrive even though our waitress told us that our meals were being played after 30 minutes of waiting. The manager did come over and offer a free round of drinks, but only after we suggested that it was a good idea for that to happen to our waitress. I am glad that he did come over but it did not improve our experience. Our meals were good but there are too many other restaurants in this area for me to come back to this one.

This restaurant has been here maybe 20 years now? In Dallas thats practically a record! Theres a good reason, flights of wine with good nibbles. Great for an ordinary Tuesday or special occasions whether eating lightly or having a full meal. Occasional special events and prix-fixe menus.

Charming little bar with easy to share food. I had the Pear and Gorgonzola pizza while sharing a few bottles of wine with friends. Will definitely be coming back on date night soon. The place always has something special coming up too with lots of winemakers visiting Dallas and hosting dinners at the restaurant during the spring and fall.

Probably one of the worst fathers day brunches I have ever experienced. Np organizationat all! Waited 45 min between the starter and the entree. Lets not mention wait time between drinks.On top of that food was cold and terrible. Then they ran out of ketchup. Manager said alot of people were using ketchup today as a excuse lol. Never again will I ever go the the west village location Cru or any other Cru again. Especially subject my father to place like that again.

Great spot for brunch especially if you love wine/prosecco. We had the avocado toast as well as the asparagus and prosciutto omelette. Both were so yummy. Great happy hour, Monday - Friday 3-6:30pm. $3 off wine glasses or wine flights. Discounted appetizers. We really like the ahi tartare, bruschetta, fritto misto, and killer cabernet flights. We ordered several white wine flights which were all good. Service was fast. Parking is free in the West Village garage, and can get busy during happy hour and weekends.

I was there on opening week years ago. Then it was mostly wine. Now it is great food and wine. Everyone at the table were impressed with the quality and presentation of the food. The wine flights (3 per order) gives you a chance to taste a variety you normally could not consume legally with standard pours. One flight I had was Rodney Strong 2014 Reserve Cab... Impressed enough where I bought two bottles to take home.
