Ok... First of all, the food was pretty excellent. The cauliflower was delicious and the lamb was cooked perfectly. The hummus wasnt great but the little appetizer cheese thing was really good. That said, we (only) took one star off because the service was borderline neglectful. They took forever to even address us when we sat down, the server appeared to be prioritizing everyone and everything else... Wed ask for something and he would run and clear off the table next to us or something unrelated. They forgot the hummus, and then didnt bother to check in at all after we received our food, including for the check and then the payment terminal had hilariously selected 30% tip.

Walking into Selda feels like entering a Mediterranean paradise, with its stunning décor that instantly transports you to far-off lands. But as you settle in, you quickly realize that the magic fades when it comes to service. The staff at Selda start off with friendly smiles, but thats where the charm ends. They seem to be more interested in chatting amongst themselves than attending to the guests, leaving you feeling neglected. Despite a few culinary delights like the savory lentil soup and the delicious naan, the overall dining experience falls short. You might find yourself waiting ages for the hookah menu or simple requests like lemons or a refill of water go unanswered. I even had to get up and go to the kitchen to get someone to present my bill. In the end, while Selda promises a taste of the Mediterranean, the disappointing service leaves much to be desired, leaving diners longing for a more attentive and satisfying experience.

This has quickly become my new favorite late Friday night spot. They don t close until 12AM! I ve always driven by here and have never thought to dine in until one day after pickleball, my friends were craving Mediterranean food. I m so happy we decided to give this place a shot. They were busy and it was very lively on a Friday night, but they quickly sat our table of 11. The whole wait staff was so friendly and made us feel like family. We immediately returned the next week and had an even better experience. Every single dish was mind-blowingly delicious. The table favorite was the Al Nazik which is cubed lamb served on an eggplant puree. The beet & watermelon salad was also refreshingly amazing. Bread is free and bottomless and they gave us Turkish tea on the house. I love this place and want to take all my friends here!

Selda Dallas is another hidden gem I ve found in the city. I ll start by saying thank you to the team who made our experience so great. The moment we walked in everyone was so welcoming, and it felt good to know that you are welcomed. We ate dinner on the patio and our server was Firat who was wonderful. All of the food 10/10. The lamb chops were so flavorful and so tender honestly some of the best I ve ever had. I feel like I shouldn t tell people about this place and keep it to myself it s so wonderful. Honestly go here and eat. They also have hookah that you add on to the table. Overall I give this place a 10/10. I ll return. Thank you to the team at Selda.

I got a recommendation to come to this place for Mediterranean food. They told me it is Turkish food specifically that they serve. So, so yummy! I needed to eat thehalloumi cheese inside because it would be so fresh and then I took the rest of my orders to go back for my husband and I. So amazing!

The food and service never disappoints! The chef and wait staff are top notch. I had to deduct one star off atmosphere because the place smelled overwhelmingly of a cleaner with artificial scent added that was distracting from the food (smelled maybe like fabuloso). Its weird but the smell was so strong, the water tasted like the smell.

UPDATE: Thank you for your response. The problem with your point about the automatic service charge, however, is that we were only 2 people, not a group of 6 or more. What is more, we actually experienced this twice and on both occasions with different percentages. On the first, the waiter treated himself to a 20% tip and in the second instance, a different waiter helped himself to a more generous 30% tip. I am well aware that this is not standard, nor for that matter ethical business practice. We will not be going back... After a much anticipated wait (we drove from out of town to come and see this place), the good food we enjoyed was unfortunately overshadowed not only by the unbearable noise level that wouldnt allow us to enjoy this food, but also by our most regrettable experience with the service. It seems that the waiters take the liberty to determine the percentage of a tip that they want or seem to think is their right, instead of allowing the paying customer to do so, as should rightfully be the case. If Selda staff take it upon themselves to give themselves a tip with their customers money, as they see fit and despite the already high price they charge for their food, they should call it a Selda Tax and be done with it.

The restaurant did not let us get seated or take in our orders even though we arrived 1.5 hours prior to closing. Their initial greeting to us was, YOUR E LATE! There was no friendly customer greeting or a show of respect. The attendant then proceeded to cook up an excuse of how there was no food left in the kitchen to which one of the other attendants yelled a foreign word. We definitely did not feel welcomed in this establishment and unfortunately is a common trend in such establishments. I am only putting one star because Google is forcing me to place a start, if there was an option for 0 stars, I would put it.

**Review of Selda Restaurant** Ive visited Selda Restaurant twice, and my experiences have been a mixed bag. On the plus side, the food is consistently good. The dishes are flavorful and well-prepared, making it a solid choice if youre looking for a satisfying meal. However, the dining experience is marred by significant service issues. Both times I went, the service was notably poor. It s frustrating when you receive your drink only after your food has already been served, and the servers seem to be absent when you need them. This lack of attentiveness really detracts from the overall experience. Additionally, the reservation system at Selda leaves much to be desired. Typically, when you make a reservation, you expect the table to be ready around the time you arrive. At Selda, though, even with a reservation, I found myself waiting an extra 15 minutes for a table. This inefficiency in managing reservations is disappointing and adds unnecessary stress to your dining experience. In summary, while Selda offers good food, the subpar service and problematic reservation system make it a less appealing choice. If these issues are addressed, it could become a standout restaurant. Until then, it s hard to fully recommend Selda.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at this restaurant! Everything we tried was incredibly tasty, and we were impressed with each selection we ordered. After living in Turkey 20 plus years ago, this is the closest weve come to getting the same type of food we ate over there. The service its always fantastic. We somehow get Omer almost every time we eat there and he is the best. As far as the food is concerned, it is authentic, fresh, and so delicious we wind up leaving here so full we can barely walk. We have eaten here at least 8 times since we discovered it 6 months ago. Thankfulky we dont live close or we would be eating here every day and we would weigh 500 lb. It is well worth the 40 minute drive each way

We consistently have bad dining experiences here after (5) visits. From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly rude and unwelcoming. Our server seemed annoyed by even the simplest requests and barely paid attention to our table. We waited an unreasonable amount of time just to place our order and receive water, bread and the food. I had a wonderful experience at Selda Restaurant. The Albanian liver was especially amazing! The outside was perfectly crispy, and the inside was tender, with the seasoning balanced perfectly. We were greeted warmly upon entering this small busy restaurant. And it went downhill from there. The server only returned after a long wait to take our drink and appetizer order. The Hummus was average. The tazeki was good. Oven fresh warm bread was delicious. The Cigar Borek was crispy on the ends, but not quite baked thru - the middle was doughy. The properly cooked portion was delicious. The Urfa Kebab was well seasoned and generous portion. Rice was plain. Clean and interesting restroom.

Firstly, love the ambiance and the location! We had been to The mayors house by selda so definitely had high expectations and indeed this restaurant met all our expectations! Volcan took great care of us the moment we were seated - he was extremely jolly and good to talk to! For the food, let me tell you everything was amazing! For the appetizers we had - hummus, grilled eggplant salad, falafel and shishito peppers! For the entree- we had the Adana chicken kebab and grilled branzino ( highly recommend both the dishes) and we finished off the meal with tea (which btw was complimentary)! We have a Turkish friend who we were hosting so we came to Selda to have a quick bite. The food is indeed flavorful, fresh, and exciting! You wont regret coming here as they have something for everyone :) We ordered lahmacuns, vegetarian and feta pide, as well as the chocolate cake. A friend invited me to meet her at Selda to try out their Turkish food. We ate a couple of different kind of kabobs. Chicken Adana, and Urfa Kabob. The chicken and the beef both were delicious. The service was fantastic throughout our visit. The Kunefe(dessert) was served on a hot metal plate, topped with ice cream. I absolutely delicious food with great service.

The food was pretty good but the service was terrible. The metal cup they brought was rusty inside and when I asked to change it they didn t even apologize. The waiter just frowned and brought another cup. Furthermore, I had to ask for everything twice. It didn t matter if I asked for bread, water, or napkins. I had to ask twice. Even though it wasn t crowded, I waited way too long for things I shouldn t have had to wait for. I ve been going to Selda for a while and this is the first time I ve had an experience this terrible.

If you are not from Turkiye, the food may seem delicious compared to the food in America, but it is not even as delicious as a standart restaurant in Turkiye. They even charge money for the tea they bring cold and not brewed properly. Only 2 people can sit at the 4-person table, the space is very small and narrow. Their patios are beautiful but they dont spend any money to more beautify them. Where there is no alternative as a Turkish restaurant, they act relax and rudely to the customer

I mean I don t know where to begin. I have been living in Dallas for 8 years and have yet to find a restaurant where everything from the drinks, to the food, to the service is a 10/10. Dallas is becoming the land of the trendy atmosphere but low quality food, so Selda was a beautiful reprieve from that. I ordered the lamb shank and it was absolutely delicious. All the ingredients are fresh and the food is true Mediterranean. Servers were nice, but not super pushy like most restaurants. And the bartender made our cocktails to perfection.

Great place. Excellent food, fast service, and friendly, helpful staff. Only complaint is its noisy and a little hard to hear for older folks. Its in a small outdoor shopping center, so theres plenty of close-in parking. Theres also a patio, although it faces Beltline. We had the hummus, Beyti Special, Lamb Shish, Grilled Salmon, and the Cheese Pide. All were delicious and perfectly prepared with excellent quality. The waiters were attentive without being intrusive, so you should definitely check this place out!

Everything I have ordered has been fresh, healthy, great food. I always order the Lamb Shish or Lamb Kabob. Mixed plate is also great. The meats are really well cooked, especially the lamb. I recommend Medium rare for lamb. Atmosphere is always nice. Service is excellent. The service is very nice compared with the typical American restaurant service. Hospitality done right! I love leaving a restaurant feeling like a new member of the family instead of a satisfied customer. The atmosphere is nice but unfussy and the service is attentive but not suffocating. Serdar and Firat took great care of us. And I haven t gotten to the food but that s the real star of the show. Fresh, fresh, fresh produce and fish, and the most flavorful meat I ve had in a long time (I order the Lamb Shish). Warm pita and hummus that melts in your mouth. We left full and happy and brainstorming who to bring with us next time.

Could not be happier with the food, and have been blown away every time. I recommend either the Lamb Shish or the Hunkar Begendi. The service can range from alright to excellent, depending on your server, largely due to english proficiency. Unless you want to alter the dish (shame on you btw), this shouldnt be a problem. The atmosphere is great, usually rather busy in the evenings. I would recommend either getting a reservation or going a bit early to ensure you get a table. My only real gripe is that the hanging light fixtures at the bar flicker ever so slightly, which can be really noticeable if you sit right there. This has been the case for a year or more. Parking: Some people will say parking is limited, and it is right by the restaurant, but there is a huge parking lot ~40ft from the resturaunt, so able-bodied people really have no excuse. That being said, the close parking being packed is a pretty good indicator that you need a reservation.

Hello, After a long time I came to Selda restaurant to satisfy my craving for Turkish food. I was shocked when I saw the prices. 1 lahmacun for 12$. In a place like America, they say that the menu you see in the picture is for 2 or 4 people. It may be for 2 people but never for 4 people... Besides, this menu is 68$ ... I ate this menu for 27$ for a single person at a place in Boston with a higher income level than Texas. As for the taste, the meatballs were not cooked, the other meats were delicious, but it definitely does not deserve its money. Finally, the sides that come with such a mixed grill do not reflect the Turkish food culture.
