The service Atticus connected me to MW. I had the pleasure of working with Justin. Hands down l cannot express how helpful, kind, and knowledgeable Justin is. Even though we did not secure disability for my daughter (an adult who has been chronically ill since age 14) we did experience lots of fact finding as well as explanations as to how Social Security operates. I had been trying to deal with the SSA application process for 3yrs on my own. After being denied at the reconsideration level, I knew it was time to get help from someone with experience. I researched hard, and I came across Morgan & Weisbrod. The reviews were great, so I gave them a call. They immediately took my case, and filed my appeal this past November for a hearing with the ALJ. I had my hearing in April of 2024, and on 5/24 I received a fully favorable decision. The communication with my attorney, Robert Miller and his assistant was amazing. They answered all my questions in a timely manner, and they kept me up to date with everything. Mr. Miller did an outstanding job representing me during the hearing. He was very encouraging the day of the hearing to me. I m not even kidding when I say I m extremely impressed with Mr. Miller and his assistant for all they did to help me win my case! I highly recommend Morgan & Weisbrod. Paul Burkhalter handled my case and I cant say enough positive things. I knew with my mental acuity gradually getting worse, I needed someone to make sure I met all deadlines and offer tips on how to complete the health assessment forms. These need to be completed in your own words, but the paralegal helped me condense my paragraphs so they were easier to read. A few tips: 1) It took me 2 1/2 years to get approved. This falls in the approximate timeframe SSDI states on their website. 2) I had paralegals through the process and Burkhalter took over at the third stage. Im quite intelligent, but I wouldnt have had a clue how to present my case in court, for the win. Burkhalter was very thorough. 3) Yes, they get 25% of any back pay up to a certain amount (these figures are set by Social Security), but in my own personal opinion, getting a percentage of my back pay vs none, was well worth it. 4) An attorney can not speed up your case through the process, technically(see the next few bullets) 5) Hiring an attorney will help you by ensuring your SSDI caseworker has everything they need and avoiding delays. -They review documents to ensure they are completed in full, concise, and you dont make mistakes that could go against you in the process. -They make sure you submit all paperwork on time - They gather and maintain all paperwork you need from the doctors 6) DO NOT GIVE UP AFTER THE FIRST AND SECOND DENIAL!!!! The majority of all cases end up getting denied in these first two attempts. All in all, I truly believe I would not have been approved or at least this quickly without their help. I really sailed through this process without the stress of working directly with SSDI. The staff and Burkhalter listened intently, answered all questions even the redundant ones, and each person I dealt with treated me with the utmost respect, and concern. The whole process I felt like each person truly cared about the results of my case and not just another number and paycheck EXTRA: They are one of the only practices that coordinate with an insurance agency that helps walk you through the Medicare process after you win. This is a BIG PLUS. The agent I worked with was very thorough and spent quite a bit of time helping me sift through the mess they call Medicare. Thank you Burkhalter and your team again for everything you did. I would give you a 10 if I could!!!

I know trying to decide how to select an attorney to help you with filing for disability is often hard, confusing and stressful. I am currently waiting for a decision from SS but in the meantime, let me recommend this firm and in particular, my attorney and his team: John M. Driskill. I was trying to select an attorney and has written down the name of the firm, then while at my oncology clinic I picked up their flyer and spoke to a couple of people getting chemo that were also using this firm. So, I gave them a call. This whole team has had very good communication with me and all I have to do is check my email and I am notified to check my client portal. Easy. The team has been responsive when I call with a question and my lawyer, John M. Driskill actually made me feel HEARD. He and I have spoken a few times with no rush in spite of my tendency to talk too much! He was kind and helped me focus in on what was important and to leave out all the other stuff. He accompanied me to my hearing and took time to review before we walked in so I felt more comfortable with what I needed to do. Yes, its a LONG process. Yes, if this firm CAN help you, they WILL. It is simply hard to be disabled with nowhere to turn. If you are thinking of filing, try this firm. Once I know what is going to happen with my case, I will update the review!

They won my case. And for that, I am THANKFUL!! But. The whole experience was very confusing to me. So many different ppl that I spoke to from the same office. Too many to remember right now. It s my personal opinion, that the attorneys here know what they re doing. And they do it well. With that said. There were numerous times that I sent messages to them through their portal with questions that I had concerning my case, and either was told to read some papers or they get back to me on it. And I never knew who I was going to get to respond to me. I am not the best at retaining information from Reading it. And that was known by my attorneys and the ruling judge on my case. I was in remedial classes growing up. I did not do well in school, I am a manual laborer. Not a bookworm. Anyways with that knowledge being shared with everyone, my very last conversation was with the woman from the office through the portal and I was asking about payments. Her reply to me was to, from what I can recall, to go back and read past messages they had already sent me because they made it clear in those messages. And then she said this case is closed and that was the last communication I had with them. I was confused because after I won, so much paperwork was sent to me through the mail ..and it was overwhelming and so very confusing. I m no better at understanding the process today than I was from my last conversation with the woman. Again, I am thankful for them as a team they did help me win my case. But I m lost at understanding what my future holds now. And all the ins and outs. I hope this helps somewhat. I have no ill feelings towards the team there. But I think they could ve done a better job at helping me understand, and sticking with me after the case was one and not just , what I feel like, just another number.

Morgan and Weisbrod is a good company for disability appeals. They are honest and always answer the phone. The portal is easy to use for communication. I had been denied twice for SSDI before I found this law office. They reviewed my case, helped with the lingo, and informed me that my other disabilities could be considered... 100% worst expirence period not just from a lawyers office. Justin as other people here have said is terrible at service and is honestly acts worse than a child. No pleasantries and full of defensiveness. I was told by justin that the lawyer, which he wouldnt give me the name of even though i asked twice, is refusing to take on my appeal but would be willing to help only on a new application. When i stated that that ia a contradictory statement and makes it sounds as if the lawyer only will go the easy route and isnt willing to take on the harder case. His response was to get defensive and borderline aggressive and tell me it isnt fair to make that statement, and that if i had been getting treatment this would be different. I will admit to getting snappy back to correct him that i had been getting treatment as i told him multiple times over 2 days on the phone, but the alj didnt have that evidence in front of them. From the rest of that call was just pure defensiveness, passive and full aggressive behavior and side stepping of basic questions so that way i could understand fully why i was being denied service. Save your time, save your patience and go somewhere that will actually be willing to have a converstion. I would honestly leave a decent review even with being refused as a client if there was any amount of niceness or just an adult to speak to that doesnt refuse to even talk at all, just repeating over and over im sorry we cant help. Not willing to even answer basics questions of why the lawyer came to that decision.

I have wanted to write this for a long time, but could not figure out how exactly to say it all in a concise fashion, but with the full, honest facts. So I realized I will write is as best I can. Let me begin by saying the best asset about the firm is their disability section and in particular attorney J Driskill. He knows his stuff and prepares his clients very well. I was in a near fatal car accident in 2017 where a woman blatantly ran a red light at 65 mph and slammed into me and hired this firm from my hospital bed. They only thing they did well was reduce my hospital bill and get a fairly quick settlement--less than 1 year. Other than that, I would not recommend them. 1. My attorney had a lot of other cases & I was by no means his priority. 2. He did not prepare me well for my deposition--I was never in a lawsuit prior & he assumed a lot.3. He let the woman who I was suing attend my deposition and when I questioned it was told she was allowed to attend. Years later I found out that was a lie and she should not have been able to be in the room. 4. This whole case rested on what was said on her cell phone as she slammed into me as she was not only on her phone, but texting as well. I asked about 4 times to make sure the cell phone records were provided at deposition time. My attorney never got them. He made excuses as to why he could not get them. That was a huge shocker as I asked for these. I was paying this firm. Not the other way around.I had permanent injuries and the woman who slammed into me t-bone style kept lying and to this day never told the truth. The cell phone records would have proved a lot. She did not want them submitted for a reason. But this attorney at this firm did nothing to get them. 5. Furthermore I asked my attorney for the black box from my car and again was told he would look into that and did not provide this info either. For this firm doing very little they walked away with $300K and because this attorney did not do their job though I got about million my huge hospital bill and rehab bill had to be paid out of the settlement. The attorney was only concerned with the money and what they could get. 6 . At deposition time, they persuaded me to not go to court. i was broke and they knew that and plus if we went to court they felt they might not get any $, but we had a good case and guess what attorneys, do your job and the results would speak for themselves. As I look back on it, I wish I would have went to court to make that women pay and for the real truth to come out. I would never use them again and I struggle each day because of the injustice that was served. I do not even think my attorney believed that i did not cause the accident which makes me sick to this day. Do yourself a favor and go with another more reputable and more hardworking firm who cares about their clients and finding out the real answers and truth.

Stop! Dont go anywhere else for your disability needs! I had initially applied for disability in 2014 with my own health insurance representative with negative results. There was absolutely NO contact with me as to what to expect in the court until the day of my hearing. I was denied in my first hearing which I really expected because of the way they handled my case. I refiled with Morgan & Weisbrod to handle the new case. Several family members had used them & successfully been approved for their disability request. That was the best choice I ever made!!! I was represented by attorney Laura Sigaud & her assistant Teresa. It was a longer process due to the Covid outbreak & the courts closed. However, it was more than worth the wait! After my initial claim for disability was denied, I decided that an attorney might be helpful in my appeal. I spent about a week reading ratings, and websites and had thought I had narrowed my choice down to two firms. But the next day I did another search and came across Morgan & Weisbrod. I am glad I did that last search! I emailed them that day and within 30 minutes someone form the firm contacted me by phone, and took all my info and told me what further info they would need and sent me the paperwork to get started. If you are considering legal support when filing for Social Security Disability look no further. These guys are the best. They are very helpful with filling out the initial forms and keeping on top of additional info requested by the SSA. They also handle the timely filing for appeals after the initial denial letter arrives. All important especially if you are suffering and dont keep up with the mail or feel good enough to spend days reviewing the law and figuring out why you want to appeal. This was all great and would have justified the legal fees by itself. But when I was denied twice and needed to appeal for a live hearing with a judge, this is where Morgan & Weisbrod really stood out. I was assigned Michael Kelly. He was incredibly professional, had worked thousands of cases with my judge, reviewed every aspect of my case with me in person, and then pointed out in the hearing exactly where in the law my medical records supported the claim. For anyone going through this process, Im sorry you are suffering enough to be reading these reviews. I experienced a very long, drawn-out, hard fight for my Social Security disability (SSDI). I had used a different law firm for my initial attempt to get my SSDI, & after 4 years and the Social Security Administration denying every appeal available to me, I lost my case. However, God led me to switch law firms to Morgan & Weisbrod in 2017, where I met my wonderful attorney, Ms. Laura Sigaud. Ms. Sigaud filed a second case for me, as she knew how many health disorders I was struggling with & how much proof of disability I had. Even my second case was denied the first two times, but Ms. Sigaud was definitely prepared for my case when it was heard by the Administrative Law Judge. She made sure I was prepared for my court hearing by meeting with me beforehand & going over all my medical issues. Ms. Sigaud also made sure the judge heard all the medical facts in my case, & her office was great about making sure the judge had ALL my medical records. The judge even commented that he was overwhelmed at the sheer volume of medical records he received! It was a tough fight, but I was finally awarded my SSDI in February 2019. I feel like meeting Ms. Sigaud was a gift from God, because Id spent 4 years with another attorney and got nowhere with my case. The firm was highly recommended by my family attorney. From first contact and initial interview I knew that they would be able to help. Paul and all the attorneys and paralegals involved with my three and a half year case were extremely helpful, patient and informative. This process is aggravating, involved and frustrating to say the least. I see no way anyone could be successful in the disability gauntlet without proper representation. While driving to my hearing this month, I received a call from Teresita Castillo. She informed me that I didnt need to go to my hearing because Judge Finnie had already made his decision regarding my disability claim the previous week. He granted my appeal without further testimony from me. I was ecstatic to hear this as it has been a long process from my first application in 2013. I suffer from an autoimmune disease that attacks my spine and effects other areas of my health. From the time I contacted Morgan and Weisbbrod, I received a step by step process with the team who handled my case. I kept them informed of what my Doctors were doing to assist me in my care. Each person in the process was friendly, informative, and caring. Laura Hernandez and Teresita Castillo were excellent and diligent with bringing my case forward to the Judge. They fought for me behind the scenes and the final result was a TKO for my denial and a champion for my appeal. Laura Hernandez is my hero. She is so supportive and always left me feeling encouraged. Cynthia Brooks-Delgado was another huge support to me. She helped me stay positive and not give up. The entire process can be very long and sometimes you just want to be done, but everyone was always there to support me and help me stay positive. I want to take a moment to detail my experience with Morgan & Weisbrod as well as my person attorney Paul Burkhalter. I had been previously rated at 30% SC and then 5 years later my disabilities became worse and I had my case re-opened. I received two increases in service connection. The first was an increase from 30 to 70%. Then almost a week later the VA sent another letter stating my increase was to 80%. I appealed their decision not searching for 100% SC but rather because I wanted two of my disabilities to be rated separately. I didn t understand why PTSD was lumped in with TBI with concussive headaches. I suffer from really bad migraines as a result of TBI. I realize that PTSD symptoms are similar to a TBI but they are separate disabilities and I wanted them to separate them in case One became worse down the road. I wasn t expecting an increase to 100%. I previously had been unemployed since early 2013 as a result of my disabilities. In 2014 I applied for SSDI and was approved at the initial claim level. I asked my personal attorney for help with my appeal with the VA and he recommended a law firm to help me. He went to church with one of the firms principles. After reviewing my claim and file, they agreed to represent me free upfront with the promise of 20% of any back pay collected. It s a risk on their part because if they are unsuccessful you pay nothing. In May of 2017, my attorney represented me in a DRO hearing done video conferencing. As someone who suffers from PTSD, I really appreciated how Paul my attorney set the expectations and protocols that would occur beforehand so I was able to be less anxious. The DRO hearing ended with a favorable decision by the VA to increase me to 100% P&T. I received a very nice back payment that allowed me to get married to my wife. I know that everyone who deals with the VA or SSA has their own personal situation but what I can say is that for mine we were victorious. Paul had prepared a fully developed claim with me and had me gather evidence from everyone like the VA, doctors, psychologists, psychiatrist, personal statements, 3 part evidence letters, etc etc.. When we walked into our hearing I felt like we were prepared to do battle and had the right tools for success. I believe that the DRO officer realized he was dealing with a professional law firm that had done its homework and came prepared and that it played a factor in receiving a favorable decision. Simply put, everyone I dealt with a the law firm from Kyle the paralegal to Paul, my attorney, were professional and knowledgeable. They never once judged me or looked down on me. They always treated me like I was important. Since then I had a CDR or continuing disability review from SSA. While Paul didn t represent me on my SSDI claim he and his staff helped answer my questions or concerns and once again put me at ease. I received the long form along with a Daily Function Report and was required to get my doctor sign a notice that my migraines were persistent and prevented me from working. I felt like I was applying for disability again for the first time. This put a huge amount of stress and anxiety on me and Paul and Kyle really helped me understand the purpose and intent of the CDR and how important it was to be honest. My SSDI is still continuing as the SSA recently sent me a letter stating my disabilities are continuing. The Law firm didn t have to help me out but they did. That let me know that I wasn t just a payday to these guys. They actually care about their clients and they love helping veterans because they appreciate the sacrifice and they are Patriots. If you are considering an attorney to represent you in a VA or SSDI claim, I would highly recommend this law firm. Thank you.

I enlisted the services of Morgan Weisbrod back in 2014 when my original Disability was denied. They we instrumental in gething me approved for current disability period, however I had originally filed to be approved back to 2011. I am most grateful to Mr. Carl Weisbrod for taking my case. I had never thought about applying for disability benefits. However, my wife knew a woman related (I dont recall how) to Mr. Weisbrod. When she heard my situation, she recommended to my wife that we contact him. When we did, he readily agreed to take up my case. I was forewarned that its a long process that can take up to two years. I decided to apply because I had nothing to lose: Mr. Weisbrods firm would not get paid unless I won, and then only a percentage of whatever back pay I received, up to a limit. I also owe much to Deana Boyd, a paralegal who helped and guided me throughout the process. She answered all my questions and reviewed material I sent to SS, giving me suggestions. Without her guidance I would have been lost in the labyrinth of requirements in the application process. Besides Deana, there were other paralegals working my case and helping me, most of whose names I unfortunately dont remember. One whose name I do remember is Cynthia Brooks-Delgado. She provided me with written and over-the-phone guidance in preparation for a medical appointment set for me by SS. Anyway, I just received notification from Social Security that I am approved for benefits.
