I was aware of Luke Metzler and impressed with his record as I looked for representation shortly after my wife died under tragic circumstances in December of 2019. As a result of the pandemic and a variety of uncontrollable events, I ended up working through a series of lawyers. While those attorneys worked hard to advance my case, the pursuits turned fruitless. Little did I know, Luke was aware of my case but was prevented from reaching out due to legal safeguards and ethics considerations. When my other avenues had failed, a friend of mine who had gone to law school with Mr. Metzler reached out to him to see if he would be interested in taking my case. He immediately replied that he wanted to represent me. The next two years were incredibly difficult. I had to come to terms with legal realities and the horrible truths of the lengths many in the for-profit medical and insurance industry will go to in order to protect their profits. But Luke and his team (special thanks to Ben Trujillo) were with me the whole way and chipped away at the walls that prevented me from having a chance to be heard. In April of 2023, we finally reached a conclusion to the case and it was wildly successfully by all accounts from those I know who live this profession in and out, every day. I can t lie; winning my case didn t make my loss less painful or my world bright and shiny. But having a team of attorneys that care and that explored every avenue of redress helped me feel like I was heard and valued and that my loss was unique and individual and worth pursuing. I honestly don t believe I could have gotten a better result with any other lawyers. It s not easy and it s never simple to fight a system legally entrenched to quash due process in cases of potential culpability. The good news is, I didn t have to. I called them to see if they would take my case and went through the initial phone questions. The woman I spoke with said that I would get a call from them in a few days. After a week and a half, I called them back and I was told that Tom would call me as soon as he was off the phone. That was weeks ago. A simple call telling me that they were not going to help me would have been fantastic. Even telling me when I called them would have been great. But I guess that a 100% disabled veteran doesnt deserve the simplest courtesy from this firm.

Peggie is so great!!! I was involved in a hit and run accident from behind, I was out of work for about 80 hours. Peggie helped the police find the guy that hit me from behind, and got him to take responsibility. She helped with finding doctors for me that helped me rehabilitate and get me back to work. She always answered all my calls and questions I had for her. I wasnt sure if I would get any type of settlement due to my medical bills being high, but she got them to reduce the bills in half and I got a really good settlement. I told her I will call her back with my employee on the phone so she can explain her situation and seek legal counsel. Laura gave me her direct phone number. I called back the next day and left a voicemail for Laura. I never received a call back or follow-up. Then today I received an email saying they didnt have enough information and could not represent my employee. Well, correct, you dont have enough information because no one calls back and cares to get more information. This firm is not run well. Van Wey Law seeks to represent people that are going through a very tough time in their lives and manages to only make it more frustrating and difficult. I would recommend you seek a different firm for counsel.

The firm handle my accident back in 2015. When I got jipped on my vehicle, they made sure I got what was fair in the injury settlement. They handled everything and made the process very painless. *Be warned*. The one and only thing they do is first take your signature about 33%-45% legal fee. The rest is all nice words for months and months. I understand some (Insurance, Lawyers, Doctors) need to get paid - BUT what is definitely worst with Van Wey Law is that you will never get anything from it all. And I mean no help with health care nor bill negotiation. The legal assistants like Peggy will always be in a hurry to throw you off her plate when you need help or when you have a question. I was assigned 2 lawyers both of who QUIT the Van Wey firm before my case was sent out to another Law Firm who took their own sweet course months and months of so called action. After 2 years or painful treatment and haggling back and forth between doctors and treatments:the end result: the 2 law firms made their solid cut, the insurance companies paid their ABSOLUTE-MINIMAL, the doctors, hospitals, and providers got all their bloated bills paid from my claim. You get couple hundred dollars for a life altering injury, and no support what-so-ever, for a case where the person at fault admitted drunk driving fault right at scene and in the police report. Stay far away from such greedy places - and no - its NOT your money you should be worried, its your time and health.
