The MUSIC is always exceptional, the food NEVER disappoints. Reservations recommended as most performers have a following & many shows are sold out. Vegetarian options: You can usually get the pasta dish sans protein.

The Kitchen Café is a gem in the heart of Dallas! From the moment you step in, you are greeted with an inviting atmosphere that perfectly blends the warmth of a cozy dinner spot with the vibrant energy of a live jazz venue. The jazz quartet, The Brian Piper Jazz Quartet featuring Chuck Redd on Vibraphone was nothing short of spectacular, providing an exceptional backdrop to a memorable evening. Each musician brought their unique flair, creating a captivating and soulful ambiance that made the night truly special. The culinary experience was equally impressive. I had the Chicken Nicholas, which was cooked to perfection tender, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The cheesecake for dessert was divine, offering a creamy texture and rich taste that was the perfect end to a delightful meal. Pairing it with a glass of exquisite red wine was an excellent choice, adding to the overall dining pleasure. A huge shoutout to Tony and Lisa, the wonderful owners who made us feel incredibly welcome. Their passion for what they do shines through in every aspect of The Kitchen Café, from the thoughtfully curated menu to the exceptional service. The wait staff were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, ensuring that every need was met with a smile. The Kitchen Café offers a superb blend of good cuisine, outstanding live jazz, and impeccable service. It s a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy a perfect night out in Dallas. We ll be back for more!

I was looking for a good venue to host a Celebration of Life event for my mother who recently passed away and I came across this restaurant while doing google searches. This turned out to be the perfect place! I worked with the co-owner/manager Lisa to get everything planned and set up for the event. She was so accommodating, communicative and helpful. Im really glad that we found this place. Lisa took care of basically everything. She gave me several buffet options for our guests (about 45 people), and she priced everything out ahead of time. When the day of the event came it was so nice to have her and the other owner (Tony) there to answer any last minute questions. They helped so much and they were so understanding and nice. I would highly recommend this restaurant for any private event! Great atmosphere, good food and great staff. Thanks Lisa!!

Very nice cafe with live music, excellent place for a date night. We love it. If your intention is the meal for your date night, beware though. There are only 3-4 dishes in their menu, with salad and soup of the day, and dessert. The food taste great, no complaints, just very limited. If your intentions are to listen to good music, relax, with a bite to eat, this is your destination.

My first time here. Music was wonderful. Carpenters and Burt Baccarat covers. Musicians were great. Loved the atmosphere. I was disappointed in service. I sat at one of the only two barstools. They forgot about me. And didn t know how to make a basic cocktail. For dessert they only had white cake and ice cream. This place screams for Tiramusu or a rich chocolate dessert. They had chocolate syrup. Seriously? Waiters wore worn out t-shirts. Need nicer shirts please. This could be a nice, classy jazz supper club. But they ve forgotten to take care of first impressions. And basic classiness. Clean it up and it s a gem. .

Well Im shocked and disappointed. Made a reservation for my moms birthday two days before and confirmed. Reservation for three. Got there 1/27 and sat down and was waited on by Carlos. The table itself was not cleaned properly either that comes from a person who s been a bus girl before. He got us our drinks which was just sprite for me as the water was already on the table. My mom and sister initially said they were okay with just water. We were not given a menu at all (this was the first 10/15 minutes of sitting down). More time went by maybe 25 more minutes and another lady came to ask about our drinks then my sister asked for a moscato, she got her drink and still no menu. People kept bumping into my moms chair and she was scooted all the way into the table, the server saw and didn t do anything to help. We moved the table a little so she could stop getting bumped into. We continued to see groups and other couples getting sat down after us having menus brought to them immediately by the same server Carlos. I kept giving them a benefit of the doubt thinking of they must ve forgot maybe? So I talked it over with my sister and then we saw everyone else getting food already the same people that were sat down AFTER us and we still didn t have a menu? The waiter did not come back to check on us so my sister had to try to get his attention so we could ask for a menu. No we were not rude just asked hey shouldn t we have menus? My sister is the kindest person you ll meet, seriously. Carlos then says something along the lines of oh yeah here you go grabs menus off the table behind us and gives it to us. He does not even give us 2 minutes and I m not even exaggerating he turns around for less than 1 minute before we can properly look over the menu and asks if are you ready to order? . Are you kidding me? We had JUST gotten the menu YOU all forgot to give us and won t even give us 5 minutes to look it over? Now I knew that the way we were being treated was not just in my head but was on purpose. I can t imagine why were were treated so poorly but we were the only Hispanics in the building. So my mom understandably wanted to leave, it was her birthday and was getting treated like this? My sister asked for the check and they took ANOTHER 10 minutes to bring it to her, she put her card in the slot and Carlos took it. When I say they took another 15 minutes to charge her card.. why? She had to get up and ask where her card was. I ve been a server before as well it does not take that long to run a card?? There was three people at the computer to charge cards at, why does it take 3 people to charge a card? Anyways we just wanted to leave and get some food, we were hungry. So no DO NOT COME HERE. Servers will discriminate and treat you poorly. THIS PLACE IS TRASH.

Very small dining area, food was OK not worth the price paid. Two adults celebrating a birthday with no alcohol only ice tea to drink and the tab was $180!! Only 3 choices of entrées, gratuity is automatic, and you pay for the music with dinner, $20/person. Music was not what we expected, more lounge vibe than anything jazz plus had technical issues with screaming wailing microphone screeches.

My wife and I went here to See Dana Harper perform. If loving an artist could be described in one word, I would say, Sanctuary. The full menu wasnt open that evening, but despite that, the service was brilliant, and the atmosphere...ahhh...the atmosphere..smh was so perfect. This place helped in creating the most memorable moment, at one of the most memorable performances i have ever had the pleasure of going to. Dana Harper , Shes so beautiful, and her voice took my wife and I on a journey of love, life, acceptance, and relaxation. The vibe was so right. Dana Harper, (I was the guy with the glasses sitting behind your classmates, and my wife was the lovely woman sitting opposite from me). We love you. We truly support your music, and you are absolutely gorgeous in every way. Thank you for that evening.

So my friend really loves live Jazz and used to go to Soho lounge until covid hit and they closed their doors. So a few weeks ago she wanted to try this place. I decided to have the mushroom soup and the strawberry walnut or pecan salad. $9 Strawberry salad had 2 strawberry bites ,a sprinkle of walnuts or pecan bits and lettuce. $9 for a cup of mushroom soup with 3 mushroom pieces. Really??? The music was mid. The drummer was good. When I finally received my check there it was a $20 cover charge mind you this place was only as big as my living room and dining room put together. This is not a club! We did not see a cover charge listed on the website or posted anywhere in the room. My bill was $50 for a glass of wine, a few leaves of lettuce, half of a strawberry, with some walnut/ pecan bits a sip of 3 piece mushroom soup and a $20 dollar cover charge for the band. It goes without saying we will not be be back. First and last visit.

First time with my girlfriend Carol who turned me on to this place... TOO SMOKIN HOT for live jazz and standards music. The owner, Tony, met us at the door and was a great host. The food that night (menu varies from night to night) was superb. The raspberry pork loin was savory and tender. Our server, Jacob, knocked it out of the park. Thank you, dude! The Satin Dolls played that night; an all female quintet who very quite fun and lively. The saxophone player just murdered out there. Set list contained some very cool seldom heard standards as well as original works from the band. Carol and I couldnt stand it and just had to get up and go dance in the lobby area at the front door because the music was so good.

A great place to enjoy jazz on weekend evenings in an intimate setting. The food is good, but the menu is limited. The cover charge isnt huge, but dont be surprised that its there. The music ranges from good to exceptional, depending on the artists and the evening. Sound/noise levels are attenuated enough that you can actually carry on a conversation with your date when the artists arent performing.

A gem in North Dallas. Tony Hakim serves great food and drinks, and has wonderful live music almost every night. Tony also plays a fantastic acoustic guitar and sings - which anyone from Dallas already knew! Im going there tonight - its a favorite spot. maybe slightly hard to find the first time - its in a strip that faces to the parking lot, not to Preston, but... worth it... and youll never forget where it is again.

We go here several nights per month for both the food and the music. We love all of their music, but especially love it when the owner, Tony Hakim, is playing. He does a lot of 60s, 70s & 80s stuff, Beatles, James Taylor, Glen Cambell, Simon & Garfunkle, many, many more from that era. This is a truely great music Venue for the older crowd, but you would probably love it even if you are young. AND- the food- fine dining chef quality stuff, from the meatloaf to the burgers to the Salmon, and many more, at reasonable prices.

A very pleasant surprise. Google is usually pretty good in regards to reviews of places. It tends to match what I think. When I came across the Kitchen Cafe jazz club in a little strip mall I was skeptical to be sure. We shared a Tapa and the Salmon dinner, glass of wine, one mixed drink, two coffees and cover charge the bill was about 100 which is a little expensive but when you factor in the atmosphere and the amazing musicians that were playing, it turns out to be a pretty good price. The food was very good. The atmosphere is very nice but what I definitely like the most was the music. Tony, the owner has done an amazing job with the Acoustics in this place, it sounds really good! Im usually more of a rock / blues guy but Ginny Mac Quartet is something special to hear. If you love small venues with really good music, good atmosphere and good food you need to check out the kitchen Cafe.

Visited the place last night for the first time, it was a great experience, cozy, unpretentious, great food and service. The owner Tony was very attentive to everyone and entertained the patrons with a nice Beatles medley while the band was on break.Highly recommend the pork tenderloin and a reservation. Will be back soon.

Love the atmosphere, love coming to see Linda & Larry Petty perform. However, this last visit, the service was bad, I ordered the soup of the day, it arrived cold, tried to get server attention, he ignored us. Supervisor came & attempted to correct the food issue, came back cold again. Not a great visit very bad service.

What a nice little gem nestled in a strip mall. I didnt have high expectations but was pleasantly surprised. Warm and cozy inside with perfect dim lighting for unique musical experience. Short food and drink menu. I had the chicken fried chicken and it was really tasty.

One of the few casual restaurants in Ashburn where you can count on getting a meal that it healthy AND tastes good. They also have gluten free bread that can be substituted for any of the sandwiches and burgers.

In the heart of North Dallas you will find this magical place. Quite ordinary looking from the outside, as strip mall restaurants tend to be, however, once inside, you are swept away into a musical and dining experience reminiscent of a fine jazz club. The kind of club you would expect to find in a city known for its fine jazz clubs (which Dallas is not). On this particular night we caught a performance by Aubree-Anna who happens to be the top rated jazz singer in all of North Texas, and voted one of the most beautiful women in this city. Although Aubree-Anna is absolutely deserving of all of the accolades she receives, the venue is a star of its own. The first thing that draws your attention is the beautiful intimate stage with a grand piano, and a series of beautiful guitars hung on the wall. The room is bathed in soft blue lights and there is a full bar. The tables and seating are comfortable, the service is excellent, and the food equally so. On the nights they have music, the owner, Tony Hakim will usually join the band on stage to sing and play his guitar and he is outstanding! The place only seats around 80 people so make sure to make reservations!

Relax and enjoy, this best describes this restaurant. This place is awesome. One of the best Ive ever seen. The atmosphere, music, service, and food are all great. We went there on Sat, and live jazz band was so good that we stayed to the end until they closed at 10:30. I would go back again and highly recommend it. thank you tony.

Its a small really restaurant, certainly within the boundaries of a small café concept. Went Friday, 15 2016 as a easy Friday date with my wife. The band at the time entertain with classics of the 60 and 70s and they end with a Jazz jam. Since Im a jazz aficionado it was the best part for me. Prices are not so bad, at understantable since they only have 68 seats available, that said, a 15% price reduction may due wonders to attract does more budget conscious.
