I understand the idea of this place, the menu is healthy and interesting, however, each time I have a meal here I am disappointed. I ordered a salad and the dressing was slathered on, wayyy too much dressing. A good restaurant will lightly and gently apply the salad dressing, just a hint of it. Additionally, they charged $18 more for tuna steaks to be added to the salad and the tuna tasted terribly. We all miss the crudités with the 2 dips that used to be on the menu - that was one thing they did well here. The displeasing execution of the exquisite menu is confusing to me. Overpriced and a great let down, this restaurant. I ve given this restaurant plenty of chances. I don t recommend patronizing this place.

Don t waste your time going to this restaurant. The service was terrible. We waited about 45 minutes after our order was taken and still no food. No one seemed to care that we were waiting and watching people around us getting their food and we did not. We walked out. Needless to say we will never go back or recommend this restaurant.

I recently visited True Food Kitchen in Dallas for lunch on a busy Wednesday. Upon entering, the place was extremely packed and, honestly, one of the loudest restaurants I ve ever been to. The interior had a great look very inviting with a lovely aesthetic but the acoustics were just off, making the noise level almost unbearable. It was so distracting that we opted for the patio instead. We waited about 20 minutes to be seated on the patio, even though we could see several available tables from where we were standing. It seemed like there might have been a shortage of servers, as there were a few empty tables mixed in with the occupied ones. The manager or supervisor was extremely nice but seemed quite insistent that we sit inside, possibly because we were standing in the way and they wanted us seated quickly. Once we were finally seated outside, the experience improved. The patio is gorgeous and spacious a much better option than the noisy indoors. The server started off a bit dry but became more attentive when they noticed I was taking photos and videos. As for the food, I had the chicken sandwich. It was tasty but on the smaller side not the most filling meal, but still enjoyable. Overall, the patio ambiance and the decent meal have me willing to give True Food Kitchen another try, especially if I can snag a patio seat from the start.

Been here a few times and generally happy with their food and drinks. Recent visit was a bit of let down. The food dishes were overall fine but I paid extra for a Mac n cheese side and not only was it cold in temperature but completely flavorless, with seemingly no cheese. Also, didn t realize this until after we left the restaurant but they made a mistake on one of our cocktail drinks and instead we were served a mocktail (I thought it was weird that my wife said she couldn t taste any alcohol in the drink and it had blueberries which was not mentioned in the ingredient list for the drink we ordered). My wife called and verified with an associate the mistake and associate indicated the price difference was $1; she was apologetic but made no attempt at offering to comp or make up for the mixup in some manner.

True Food Kitchen has also been overpriced for what you get, but sometimes I will order takeout or drop in when I want a healthy meal for the family. However, the meal I ordered for takeout tonight was horrendous. I ordered their new chicken tenders, which were packaged in a sealed container, resulting in soggy, wet chicken that had a strange consistency (seemed undercooked or something). The potatoes I got on the side were also soggy but also somehow undercooked to the extent that they were crunchy. I ordered a side of asparagus for $7, and we received 5 small stalks. It looked ridiculous when we opened the box. I also ordered the edamame dumplings, which I have enjoyed in the past. For $14, you get 4 small dumplings. All 4 were put in a tiny container, and they had congealed into one lump. Needless to say, I wont ever do takeout from them again. They dont seem to know how to package the food so that it arrives edible. I dont know that Id dine in again either considering how much we paid for a meal that was ...not good. For these prices, you expect the food to be cooked properly at least.

Wonderful food. Great atmosphere. Excellent gluten free/friendly options. The peach lemonade tastes like a peach ring gummy. The roast beef dip sandwich with gf bread was amazing. It was some of the most tender/fall apart beef Ive had. The keylime tart was fresh, healthier, and delicious. The crust was made out of (I think) dates, oats, nuts, and coconut. The flourless chocolate cake is small, but it needs to be! Its is so dark, rich, and delicious! Oh yeah.. They have dairy free ice-cream!! Win! Just called to ask a question about a menu item & received such horrible customer service. I ve been getting the same thing from True Foods for some time now & noticed that it was no longer on the menu (item changed). When I called to inquire before placing my order, the girl who answered the phone was unprofessional & had no knowledge of menu items past or present. After talking in circles, I asked if there was someone I could talk to & get my question answered so I could move forward with placing my order. After being on hold for 5 minutes, she came back on the phone starting the conversation over as if I had not been on hold. When I inquired about being on hold for 5 mins & no one coming to the phone & her coming back, she made excuses & tried to put me on hold yet again. I said never mind & told her not to worry about it. It s very unfortunate that a customer calls to place a Togo order & can t even get one question answered. I won t be placing any more orders or visiting True Foods anymore in the future.

I ve ordered take out a number of times (8/10), and they constantly get it wrong. I think it has to do with a communication issue with the people preparing it in the kitchen. Also, had a few orders in the past that didn t seem cooked all the way through.. veggie patty still freezing like it was unheated. On top of this, got delivery once and it was someone else s order. If I m going to pay this much for take out, the order should at least be correct. Done.

Second time coming here and honestly this place is fabulous for both vegetarians, vegans, and meat eaters a like. A solid farm-to-table approach to their menu and we have yet to have something bad. Their menu is what keeps us coming back because we keep wanting to try new things! Their tofu I had my first visit could have used some marinade or seasoning, tasted a bit bland but the veggie burger I had this second time was AMAZING. Cocktail prices feel a bit too steep while wine and beer seem a little more reasonable.

** Always check your online banking after eating there.This is not the first time this happened to me at this particular (Dallas) location ** My wife, child and I were there last Wednesday evening for dinner. Our experience was pretty good, I wouldn t say it was excellent, but it wasn t bad either. Checking my online banking a day or two later, I noticed that the charge from TFK was a lot higher than the amount I remembered signing for the other day. I ve developed this habit of checking my bank account after dinning at this particular location, as this is NOT the first time I find different charges to my card after dinning there. This time I decided I wasn t just going to let it slide, so I called TFK Dallas. Honestly, depending on how management handled the incident I was just going to report it and leaved at that, but Carl (manager) couldn t have done a worse job at handling the situation. When I explained to him what had happened, he never had the courtesy to apologize, instead with a very condescending attitude he said he d have to look for the receipt and give me a call back. After about an hour he calls back. He says that in fact he was able to corroborate the mistake . He states that the way I wrote the amount may have conveniently led the server to assume I wrote down a higher amount. I asked Carl to send me a copy for my signed receipt (the one he was looking at), so I could see if in fact it was my mistake. He (still hasn t apologized) says he can only send me a digital copy that won t show my signature He proceeds to say that only this time and due to the incident, theyd refund THE TIP to my bank account. At this point I m upset, because this guy still hasn t apologized and instead he s trying to paint a scenario in which apparently I am the one at fault here. I then let him know that that was the least they could do and that I was going to write a complaint about the whole incident. Then he calmed down his sarcastic tone and offered to refund not the full amount, but the amount for paid the meals. Oh! And he finally apologized We are regulars at the TFK in Plano. We are never going back to the Dallas location. We will make sure we warn and spread the word about this incident to everyone we know. Do a better job next time Carl! All you needed to do was to own up to your screw up and apologize.

This was my second time there and I must say I was very disappointed! The service totally SUCKED and music was too dam LOUD! I was so looking forward to my Father DAY dinner but the service was so bad I couldnt enjoy it . The person serving us spent more time talking to co-workers than asking Do I need a refill, let me get you something to ear with, how is the food, or would you like dessert? When you bring someone brings you your order do you think they need to check and see if you got silverware to eat the food? I had to ask someone who was not serving me to bring it and when they did why did it took forever and they brought me two forks to cut my pork chops with . Why do you add 18% for such SORRY SERVICE? Not one time did our server come back to check on us after he served us our drinks. I can get better service at the Waffle House! I had over cooked/over spiced greens and pork chopped that I needed a knife to cut but they brought me a fork five minutes after they served me! The music was so loud I thought I was at a concert sitting by the speaker! Whatever happened to the volume set at background sound? It was so loud if I didnt lean in and turn my ear to their mouth I couldnt hear her. Im very disappointed! PLEASE RETRAIN YOUR STAFF on better customer service skills. This was our first time here. The service was excellent. The atmosphere was relaxed, it was a bit chilly so I suggest bringing a light sweater if youre cold natured. The food was amazing. We ordered from here to be delivered for 5 people. Ordering, pickup and delivery was smooth and quick no issues. Food arrived packaged well with meal identified. Nothing was messed up with their orders, and the food had a great presentation. The vegetables and salads were fresh and crisp. I ordered the TFK Original Chicken Sandwich. It was a grilled chicken with Kale slaw, pickled jalapeños and house-made bbq sauce. The sandwich had great flavor, however the chicken was hard and dry, no flavor. I will give this place a second try but will probably order something else next time.

We enjoyed the service and atmosphere; however, while I appreciate the use of wholesome organic ingredients and the exclusion of seed oils, I found the portions to be somewhat modest relative to the price. For example, the dumplings contained only about nine edamame beans (not pods) and the Thai noodles were overly chopped, which seemed unnecessary. The Mediterranean wrap was also on the smaller side with limited filling, and the artichokes within were tough to chew. Additionally, the childrens cookie and ice cream seemed overpriced. While the outside seating area was lovely and I understand the concept of upscale pricing, the food offerings did not quite justify the costs.

Today, my family and I visited this restaurant for brunch. I would caution against dining here if you have an infant, as the bathroom lacks a changing table and is quite cramped. Unfortunately, I had to resort to changing my 3-month-old in the car. Additionally, our experience was marred when the waitress accidentally spilled an alcoholic beverage on my 3-year-old daughter, soaking her from head to toe. Despite the mishap, the waitress failed to provide any assistance or even offer a towel, leaving my daughter upset. While I didnt expect a complimentary meal, a small gesture like a scoop of ice cream or a muffin would have been appreciated. Feels like they might be resting on previous laurels. First met True Foods in Phoenix while at an integrative medicine conference and was blown away. Dallas has been good on past visits but tonight it felt kind of blah. I love that I can have so many special options but gluten free lasagna was mediocre at best and served tepid. When it came back from being reheated it was pretty slapdash looking. My dining partners had no complaints but I almost felt a little embarrassed at choosing this for out of town guests. It was my first time visiting True Food Kitchen in Preston Center. When I walked in I thought it might be loud because of the architecture and furnishings, but it wasnt. After looking at the menu I had narrowed down my choices to three items under the hot bowl section. I asked her which one she would recommend and she said the Teriyaki Bowl. It was better than good, it was delightful. Its a delicious blend of brown rice and vegetables perfectly spiced and every mouthful was amazing. Its the kind of food that I try to make at home but mine is never that good. I must not have the secret, magic powder that their chef uses. Vegetarian options: Each dish is labeled right beside it so it makes it easy to order something that fits your dietary restrictions. And not only do they have vegetarian choices they have vegan choices. And vegan choices are very hard to find in Dallas

This place is fantastic. The food is excellent - I have tried several items on the menu and all have been successful. The tea is also very good. The service is prompt, polite, and attentive. Generally, it is easy to get a table and/or the wait is relatively short. This is a staple location and good for lunch gatherings.

We had two hamburgers, two iced tea, and brussels sprouts. The brussels sprouts were undercooked, the hamburger tasted like it was out of a package from a grocery store. However, the bun was good and the service was OK. Did I mention that it was over $55 for two of us for a hamburger that would not order again. I understand rent is high and I don t mind the price. However, I would like something that wasn t so disappointing.

Visited this location for brunch with a friend on 12/22/23 and I could not have been more displeased with the service we received from our server, Hunter. He took our order in the most uninterested and almost dismissive manner possible. It seemed as though he was either having a bad morning, didn t want to be there, or perhaps he always has a snobby, rude attitude. Towards the end of our meal, he slammed our check on the table and quickly walked away. Then when he came by to grab the check, he rudely reached over our food, almost brushing his forearm against my spoon as I was eating my desert. Such bad service overall not only from Hunter, but the hostess as well. She didn t even bother acknowledging our departure, even though she looked at us and looked away.

First time visiting this location. I love the food here. The service is always great! Our waiter was wonderful. However, the hostess ladies up front were not friendly and welcoming. They acted like they didnt understand what we wanted when we walked in. As if it wasnt their job to seat people. Very odd. Otherwise, I love this restaurant. Food was quite expensive, and their version of cooking is what I call burning. Throwing veges on a grill, then ignoring them until they are blackened or charred crusty brown is the process of someone who is not educated in cooking, much less in healthy cooking. Terrible. I wont be back.

The food was cold. Pizza cold. The potatoes were not fresh at all. They looked as if they were cooked way early in the morning or a few days before and reheated in the microwave. The salmon was OK, cooked well, the dressing was strange in combo. Butternut squash soup was good, my daughter liked the kids burger with gf bun. The herb roasted fingerling potatoes were boring. Husband ate his whole pizza, and said it was good. The kids cookie sundae was great and so was the root beer float, both gluten free and vegan, which was awesome to have. They can work with lots of different dietary restrictions. Down side is its extremely expensive. We paid over $120 for lunch, with 3 entree, 3 desserts, and 3 drinks. Its a nice place and I love the healthy and allergen friendly food, but the price will keep us away for a while.

The one healthy restaurant in Dallas with an elegant ambiance! Seasons 52 used to be the other sophisticated healthy restaurant nearby at Northpark but that location closed. Parking is plentiful, free, safe. Intuitive and well-trained wait staff. The cauliflower appetizer is uniquely delicious! Plenty of vegan and vegetarian options while meat-eaters have great options, as well. Everyone Ive brought here was surprised how much they loved it. Eating at the bar is fun as you can watch all the activity in the kitchen or just watch the game on the TVs overhead. Excellent botanical cocktails or standard beverages if you prefer.

I used to love this place but the service has really gone down hill. The last several times I was there has been sub par. Last time I was there, they refused to do the 1/2 kale and 1/2 sweet potato hash, as the side like I have ALWAYS gotten. The waitress said the chef had to be in a good mood to do that. LIKE WHAT?!?? Clean food is on the menu when you walk in this restaurant. I had the trout and was throughly impressed with the texture and flavor. In the past I have tried the burgers and they are great as well. You can sit inside or out. Waitstaff is friendly. Togo is available, but for fish or a burger not recommended. Healy options abound.

Food is always excellent and fresh. Seasonal options are what you should look out for. One of the better places for fish in Dallas, but everything else is great, too. Service is normally top notch. Atmosphere is more on the louder side because of poor acoustic isolation and very reflective materials, so just know that in advance. Limeade is hands down the best in Dallas.

No other restaurant Ive been in (including very expensive ones) puts as much care into the quality of ingredients and nutritional composition of the meals.
