Will not return. Not worth the trouble. We had to pay $150 to leave the parking area. They will deny it but they are in some type of business with a private towing company. There are various parking spaces outside the restaurant. There is a small sign saying that you have to make a private payment with your phone. You can easily mistake that for a sign that would read parking for customers only. Once inside the restaurant somebody notifies the towing company. We were put the boot on our vehicle after being there for 1 hour. We had to pay $150 to remove the boot. This was not a city officer whom you could ask a hearing for and go to court. I went back in and contacted the restaurant and they recused themselves of any responsibility. Many customers like me from out of town found the boot on their vehicles also. I was very displeased. I will not return to this place.

If you re not drunk don t waste your time the service is horrible. You ll be waiting forever for a glass of water. If you just want vibes and don t care about service it s fine. The food is decent. Update server hasn t been to our table in about 25 mins. I genuinely beg you not to eat here if you value your time in any capacity. Parking: All the places in the area use the same pool of space for parking. If you value you car use a lot of your okay with risking it park at a meter on the street.

The food was great! The service was excellent! We took my dad here for his birthday and had a blast. On this particular night, they were jamming out to all the hits from the 70s, which was right up my dads alley. lol. Every time a song came on his eyes lit up and he started singing. The foos was good and we just sat passed our plates around like a family dinner at home. The waiter made everything special and even sang a little tune for my dad when he brought out his dessert, even though the restaurant doesnt really do this. We had a great time! Even the kids meal chicken tenders my nephew got was delicious! Normally, I wouldnt recommend taking your elder parent to a restaurant in Deep Ellum but this almost felt like place on Belt Line in Addison. Great spot! Parking: You can park in the parking lot but the lot is not owned by the restaurant. So you may end up paying $10-$20. There were some parking meters around and we parked there. Kid-friendliness: Kid menu food options. Wheelchair accessibility: You can literally roll up to the door.

The food was not seasoned at all. The shrimp and crawfish wasn t fresh. The boudin balls tasted old. I went there off of older reviews. I wish I had read the more recent ones with mentions of change in ownership and highlighting same concerns with no seasoning. Surely was missing creole seasoning for certain.

I recently visited this restaurant and was initially impressed by the inviting environment and friendly staff. The atmosphere was welcoming, and I had high hopes for the food. I started with the gator bites and calamari, but unfortunately, both were overcooked and lacked flavor. For my entrée, I had the catfish with crawfish. The presentation was appealing, but the taste didn t live up to expectations. However, I must say that the drinks were the highlight of the experience. They were well-crafted and enjoyable. If you re looking for a spot with a nice ambiance and great drinks, this place could be worth a visit, but I d recommend exploring other food options elsewhere.

The only thing that I didnt like was paying to park, but in that area you have to pay everywhere! Its like $7 for a long time (more than needed) everything else was like for overnight stays (who needs that?) Be careful its all kinds of walks of life walking around there!

Service was great! Atmosphere was different than I care for. This place is in Deep Ellum so expect that vibe y all! Music was thumping. Karaoke was gearing up for the evening. I m old. I like a quiet vibe that leans to conversation and you will not get that here on a Saturday night anyway. But otherwise, we will be back for the food. Perhaps at lunch. Parking: $25 to park.

Spent $75 plus tip for 2 at this place for happy hour . I had chicken wings, red beans and rice, greens and 1 drink from the happy hour menu. My cousin had the Mac & cheese bowl with shrimp, greens and 1 drink from the happy hour menu. The Mac & cheese was top 3 of the best I ve ever taste from a restaurant the shrimp & my sides were very good as well. Unfortunately I can t say the same for my wings. They were small so they were on the dry side. Also lacking seasoning. Just because they had some kind of seasoning sprinkled on them after they were cooked doesn t mean you don t season before cooking No lie I would eat there again but probably won t order the chicken going forward. Parking: Hopefully you find a metered spot on the street. It s free after a certain time of day. There are parking lots near restaurant but they are not free

First time trying, you have to pay to park ($16-25) before you enter the restaurant. It was open seating with only 2 other couples at tables so I figured service would be quick. The mixed drink came out quickly, there was a slight delay in receiving the draft beer then the bottle. Finally received a warm bottle of beer, we had to ask for a glass of ice. Guests came in and ordered after us and got their meals and drinks before we did. Food was pretty good. Kept it simple with a burger and shrimp po-boy.

On 03/24/2024, a group of us and I visited this establishment for brunch. This was my first time going to Bucky s, as I haven t treated myself to brunch in almost 3 years! Overall, the service and the positive vibes from my group, to the staff and even the DJ were what got me! I even told my server that the service I got from them was the best I ve had in a LONG time! The waitstaff were so attentive to our group, it was great! I left my server a tip as well. The ONLY thing that I wasn t too shabby about was what I ordered. I had ordered the Cajun pasta, and honestly it was too spicy for my liking. So, I ordered a waffle to compensate instead. Overall, no complaints! Located in Deep Ellum, I was excited to see a new restaurant rather than just another bar. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. The service was fantastic and my cocktail was nice and strong. However, the food was mid at best. I ordered: Fried shrimp (it was bland and dry - I ve actually never had dry fried shrimp); green beans (these were decent, had a little spice; macaroni (me and my colleague both agreed it was not good); and lastly, & hush puppies (these were decent). My food was about $30. I don t feel like it was worth it and I don t plan on going back. There s food at other establishments in Deep Ellum far better. Parking: They have their own parking lot with is free, but there is also street parking available (some free and some paid).

As soon as I we walked in I thought I had walked into a club. I had heard the food was good so we thought we would give it a try. after waiting in a line We were sat down by a waitress but 20 minutes later we were still just sitting there until a different waitress asked us had we been helped yet? Okay so we ordered an appetizer (calamari) , a catfish basket, a shrimp basket (the waitress brought us the wrong item but we did not send back) , one beer and one mimosa. We were a bit surprised to get the $72 bill which we did not realize had an automatic tip put on it and we added on top of it bringing bill to $85. I dont understand why the waitress didnt mention there was already a tip included on bill, frustrating. Yes the food is fantastic so I give it a 5 but the service was only a 3. the Atmosphere although it was very colorful and interesting the music was blaring loud and I could not even hear my lunch date at times when we spoke so it gets a 3 , I would suggest to turn the music down a notch or two. The mimosa flute was very small so not worth the price and i did not even taste much alcohol. I need to mention that to park was $25 so yes the bill was over $100 to eat here. Like I said the food was a 5 out of 5 but with this type of pricing I will only be coming here for special occasion and if i rethink it , the music was just to to loud to have a pleasant conversation so I probably wont come back. Beware dont put extra tip like we did. Which like I said the waitress should have mentioned that in all honesty that was deceptive.

We were really excited to try this place out due to the social media marketing for the bottomless mimosas. However we were highly disappointed when we got there. The mimosas were 90% OJ with a splash of champagne you could barely taste. They were served in clear cups and we literally only had ONE. We had to pay for an extra side of champagne since the mimosas were not strong at all. The service was not up to par at all, there was minimal staff. We never received waters after asking a few times. The food was actually pretty good but I definitely feel as though this place was overhyped. Mannn I loved this place and I loved their prices even more !! Amazing cajun & brunch food for a reasonable price. I could come down here every weekend and it won t hurt my pocket. We shared the seafood boil and we each got the chicken and waffles and the fettuccine shrimp cajun pasta. Let me tell you, everything is on point! Our sever was great and explained the menu to us. Lots of seating and a patio outside. They have a huge open bar with a bunch of draft beer. Definitely a recommended spot.

Buckies is the hidden gem for Cajun & creole food. I started going to them years ago when they were off of live oak called the alligator café. The food is seasoned to perfection, fair prices for the portion sizes and quality and on top of that the service is amazing! If you know anything about 337 or 409 then you need to visit this place! Yep 337 & 409, creole

Placed an order over the phone. Had to wait several minutes for someone to come out when I arrived there as the restaurant was empty. Finally, when I get handed my bill I notice there s a 15% gratuity included? For an order I picked up? I m not against tipping at all, just confused as to why I m tipping someone to hand me a receipt.

The food was ok but the worst part of my experience with this restaurant was the parking lot outside. I was there on a Thursday evening, it was dark and not much light in the parking lot. I parked, went inside for 30 or 40 minutes to have a sandwich. When I was ready to leave I realized my vehicle had been booted, so was several others vehicle on the parking lot. While standing outside on this poorly lit parking lot we noticed a sign that says you have to pay to park at night and it had instructions on who to call if your vehicle is Booted..After bringing this to the attention of restaurant staff they were well aware of this situation and the fact that the sign was not very noticeable . The sign shows the price for parking but at night the sign is not so obvious, you do not see the signs or you assume that this is the parking for the resturant. If you do not see the sign a boot is placed on your car and it will cost $135 to get removed. The owner of Bucky Moonshine is aware and is OK with it. I will NEVER go back because the staff is well aware of The Parking Lot Trap and choose not to say or do anything. This has the look & feel of a setup!

I had no choice but to pick a star, but they DO NOT deserve that. I never in my 49 years had or heard of soggy fries fish (really) and the hush puppies was fried in old oil (yuck) and to think I spent $14 and change for lunch that I couldn t even eat . I thought I was starving and now I m about to die trying that terrible food that looks pleasing on the menu .looks can be deceiving I have heard my whole life and now I know exactly what the saying comes from. I m so disappointed in Bucky Moonshine, first and last time eating there and the audacity to charge gratuity on a over the phone order is a crime in itself.

First time trying this place out with my coworkers. We ordered to go because we were limited on time during our lunch break. There was a total of 7 orders and First off the food was cooked rather quickly. We called and placed the order over the phone 20 minutes before opening. We were told all orders will be ready in 20 minutes . When we arrive to pick up we all notice we had a 15% gratuity added to each bill. Surprising considering we ordered to go. Second the portions were very small and shady for the price we paid. And to top it all off, the food was horrible. Each and every one of us, 7 remember, had a complaint about our food. The fish was soggy with a fishy smell to it, the batter on the shrimp was not fully cooked. The hushpuppies tasted old, and the fried green tomatoes were mushy, bland, and soggy. If I could give this place zero stars I would. Its overpriced and gross. I would not recommend this place at all.

If you look at my explorations of food and beverage, youll find a fella that loves great food. And ya can bet I have found some real gems for flavor. For me, this place ranks way way up in the best of them. The food was bangn! I aint jokey-jokester about it. This is really good food. And when I came in the door, a line of patrons were singing in unison like a Irish pub, but they were singing classic Hip-Hop rather than Irish drinking songs. I knew every word, so... thats how I roll. I sang along. And I drank cold beer and dined like a Cajun King. This was a Five Star Experience from food to server to my finding joy in a dining out experience. Parking: Expensove Parking FLAT RATE ABOUT $20

I grew up on Cajun food and this place did not disappoint. It reminded me of my family and took me down nostalgia lane. Highly recommend the blackened catfish Pontchartrain, boudin balls, and blackened catfish with shrimp etouffee. We brought our 5 month old son with with little issue. The *only* problem I had concerning children was the live band was too loud for his little ears (my fault for picking a table right next to their setup), but I think if you sat inside or further away with your baby theyd be fine. We stepped outside and bounced around to the music, the little guy loved it. Amazing jazz/blues band that played on a Saturday night and really put a bow on the whole evening. Thought about giving 4 stars for the atmosphere because it was a little dingy, but it really just gave it a more authentic touch. Nothing too fancy or high brow, just good eatin made by some good people. Kid-friendliness: Nothing inappropriate about the place that would leave you feeling uncomfortable about having your kids around. The live band is loud as its in an intimate setting, so if youve got a little one with sensitive ears sit a little further from the band. Even my infant son enjoyed the music.
