This place had a great atmosphere. The Barista/Bar tender was very friendly and provided excellent service even though they were busy. I had an iced Salted Honey Latte and really enjoyed it. Great flavor! There was open space to sit both inside and outside. Would definitely recommend.

Lots of great memories here. I go here all the time for their poetry on the patio open mic nights (this is the first place i performed poetry in Dallas). It s a great 3rd space, lots of people come to study and hang. They also have events and sometimes parties / DJ sets. A great community in bishop arts. Oh and also it s a bookshop lol

Talking Dirty After Dark event was a big disappointment. Most of the storytellers werent funny or interesting. Also, there were over 100 people present, with tickets $25 each, plus people buying drinks and other sponsorships...yet Wild Detectives guilted people into putting cash into a passed-around hat to support their storytellers. Um, maybe pay them from the tickets and drinks we already bought? Skip this event.

Stopped by this quaint, cozy bookshop on the same weekend we came to see Leigh Bardugo at the Dallas Museum of Art. Such a beautiful setup with a good selection of books, plenty of sitting room to work on your next novel or college paper, and a BAR! Honestly, its like this place popped straight out of a book of favorite things. Friendly staff. Highly recommend.

This place has great vibes, I wanted somewhere to study that is open late and has both alcohol and coffee. The book selection is pretty wide. All the bartenders Ive met the multiple times Ive returned have been very cheerful and made amazing drinks. The empanadas were also pretty good. Very queer friendly vibes as well, i felt very comfortable here. Also they play good music. Love all the wood interior as well. Took a pic of my drink, but its half gone oop. Anyways you gotta try it!

Extremely loud music is played on Sunday morning, so, if you are up to a quiet tea moment before the crowd, dont go there because they claim Sunday is party day and they cant turn the music down! Interesting enough though on a Party day they had one person working the bar, the line was super long, poor girl couldnt keep up and forget about getting her to lower the loud concert music triggering tinnutis, so after waiting 15 minutes to get some tea and browse their book selection, I left. Oh and dont trust the orange parking cones they placed out there in the curb that read Wild Detectives parking only because You will be ticketed 45 dollars as I did. This was such a negative experience. I will not return to this joint. because you will still be ticketers!

Ive been coming here for years and the feeling I get each time I come in is blissful. How can you hate a coffee place with a bookstore, cocktail bar and a simple creative backyard patio to daydream? I cant. I love this place! I think I would be depressed if it got out of business. One of my favorite things about this place is their spoken word poetry slams and concerts. Small footprint but great atmosphere. I went for a poetry reading and just loved the cozy, intimate setting. The bar menu was a delight. My Paloma was excellent! The service was superb. Afterward, I had a chance to look around the shelves, and the feeling it gave me was as if I were peering into someones private library - someone liberal, well-read, who keeps abreast of the literary scene far and wide. I had the idea that I would want to get to know this theoretical someone and their books. I was certain when I left that I would be back.

It was a nice place and nice ambiance and nice music it was my first time going to this place but it took the bartender almost 30 minutes to acknowledge that me and my fiance was standing there trying to get her attention and it seemed like her friends where more Important than the customer once we finally got acknowledged we ordered and went and sat down didnt seem like the bartender was more interested in friends being there even past closing friends where still sitting at the bar while we where constantly being watched will probably not go back anytime soon

My friend and I visited on a Sunday afternoon. Upon our arrival at the bar, we observed that the two staff members appeared engrossed in conversation and were not readily available to assist us. Despite our attempts to capture their attention for information about their drinks or books, we couldn t get any help regarding anything they offered at wild detectives. We had no idea how to check out any books or order drinks, there was no menu or any information we could find. Regrettably, we left without receiving any service, which was particularly disheartening given the positive reviews we had heard about the venue. It is worth noting that the establishments limited size might not make it an ideal spot for those looking for a conducive work environment.

A Bishop Arts District icon! Awesome vibe for readers and students, coffee and cocktails served up by friendly wait staff who treat newbies as though they are neighborhood regulars! A must-do stop when in The District.

As I am writing this review I just want to say I m disappointed in this place especially since I work in the service industry as well, I ve been here a couple of times and never had an issue up until now. The two lady bartenders working shift @6:12 on Sunday May 28 were just careless, inattentive to me and my friend who we were waiting patiently in the line for 20 minutes (after we were told to get on the line) and after being skipped by some lady as well, these two bartenders did not acknowledge us once it was our turn to be serviced. One of them made direct eye contact with us and did not say a word to us so we just decided to leave I came back to tell them something but decided it was not worth it. They were having a full blast conversation with whoever was seating at the bar but still not one of them could have said we will be right with you . Coming from the service industry it just sucks to be treated like we are not valued costumers.

Shonti was amazing. She has an amazing and fun personality and the place itself has great music and calm vibe. Though they were playing music I was still able to focus on reading. Did you know you buy a book they give you ANY drink for freeee.

What I came into was such a great vibe. I love the music the outside wasnt compared to the inside because it was pretty spacious. However once I got to the bar my friend and I waited 30 minutes for a drink
