I called Mark Rubin regarding filing a Chapter 7. 2020 and 2021 wrecked my finances. As a single woman looking for assistance, he was very rude and condescending. I explained to him that I had done a lot of research over the years. I was told that I couldnt file when I had zero income, I have been told I made too much money when I made more than I do now but with a little work was almost there...this was three years ago whenI was working. He proceeded to talk over me and mansplain me like I was an idiot and initially SCREAMED at me and hung up the phone saying hes been doing this for 30 something years or whatever it was. If you are a woman looking for assistance do NOT call this man. I understand how bankruptcy works but DO NOT understand how billionaires and corporations can file when they have millions in assets. I have nothing and have taken major financial hits, mainly because of the sick and controlling patriarchy. I didnt need to yelled at (again)by an old, misogynist white man. Attorneys are hard to talk to as it is but throw this one in there and you got yourself an angry and disheveled mess! Maybe he was mad at his wife or girlfriend or both. Either way, I dont take it lightly. Just be kind!

I hired attorney Rubin to do a divorce I paid my initial retainer then I was told he needed more money and then a third time till I had paid $38,000 for a basic divorce no child and no property. I m awarded 100% of my attorneys fees however attorney Rubin filed with the court that it only cost $15,000 when I paid him $38,000. Rubin keeps saying that he has staffing issues that he hasn t had time to itemize my account and then I get a copy of my divorce decree where he attest that the amount attorney fees was only 15,000 then he tried to tell me that there could be more attorneys fees than what he filed with the court for the cost of the divorce alone not the contempt hearings which makes no sense sense he signed an affidavit with the court of it being only 15,000 then he even pulled that he didn t remember any of this was going on I seen on the Internet where numerous people are having the same problem attorney Rubin even tried to claim the money that my husband was court order to pay to the attorney and the attorney forward to me so there was no chance of payment being lost in the mail rubin claimed as return of my retainer. Michael Rubin has my entire case messed up he even lost my file for a year. Contempt filings that should ve been done within 30 to 60 days took over a year for him to do the paperwork. Be warned even the court has made comments in my case about Rubin not showing up for cases or last minute delays and his behavior in other cases was held against me in court. I had no choice and was forced to file formal complaints against him.

In April of 2020, I was hit by the Pandemic just like everyone else. My job furloughed me by text message and my income was halted. I met with Mr. Rubin 2 months prior because the writing was on the wall and I needed help. LEGITIMATE help. Mr. Rubin met with me and I retained his services. The one thing I remember him saying is, If you follow the plan you will come out of this stronger than you have ever been. Well 2 years later, following that plan, I am purchasing my first home and the CH.13 is not even discharged. My credit score is in the upper 600s and climbing. Bankruptcy is a scary word and has a huge negative connotation, but what I have learned is it is a powerful financial tool when used properly and I am proof that life isnt over. You just have to have someone you can trust to deliver on their word and the discipline to follow the plan set in place. I had both. Mr. Rubin and his staff are cordial, honest and put the work in to make sure that I not only ended the nightmare of debt, but flourished while doing it. I cant express enough how thankful I am I made that call 2 years ago. I could have stayed where I was, embarrassed and ashamed, but thanks to Mr. Rubin and hard work, that light at the end of the tunnel is right in from of my face now. After hearing a radio commercial on 105.3 the Fan five years ago, I Walked into the Rubin & Associates office stressed beyond relief with IRS, Payday Loans and Mortgage problems. Mark told me to relax give him all the information and let him handle it. Now I ve learned how to correctly budget and make money work for me after taking mandated classes. I contacted Rubin and Assoc when I really didn t know where else to turn and they were able to get me an appointment within the week. I sat down with Mr. Rubin in the Frisco office explaining my situation. Since almost all of my debt was credit card debt, he was able to quickly lead me in the right direction. THEN, the pandemic started so we were kind of at a standstill for a couple of months. Last week, I went in to sign the final papers before the case is actually filed. life Was so much easier before my husband past. I quickly became a cancer patient, widow and a single mom over night. I tried for months to hold on financially and with each day I was falling more and more behind. This firm is definitely NOT into customer service, returning calls, returning emails, or answering questions. If customer service is their #1 priority you can forget about whatever is #2. The customer there is treated like cattle and everyone is herded through the same little bankruptcy scenario, over and over. If you have something thats different than the typical bankruptcy, it really throws them for a loop. I showed up early and very unprepared for my bankruptcy hearing to meet the lawyer representing me. I had no idea what to expect because that info had really not been shared with me. I was told my attorney would be there early and we would go over everything. My lawyer was someone from his office that was late, I had never met and had not even looked at my paperwork before. So she was even less prepared than I. The bankruptcy Trustee, during the hearing, found paperwork, that they had prepared incorrectly and answered questions on incorrectly. So, when I answered her questions honestly and correctly, it made it appear that I was being dishonest. This all ended up with a bad result. It created a second hearing and definitely put me on her wrong side throughout the rest of the proceedings and I feel it was the main reason that she denied an exemption on certain properties of mine. I was given advise by Mark on something pretty important before the filing. He informed me that I could do something that I had asked him about before the filing and it would not affect the proceeding, because it was business not personal. Well that was the wrong answer. Turns out that I shouldnt have done it and because of doing it, I was judged against and had to reach a settlement on that issue. I did not do anything to benefit myself or anyone else monetarily, but to help my family to stay in their house during a divorce and bankruptcy. I was accused of trying to commit fraud. Later, after the settlement was reached, when I questioned him, Mark denied giving me the advise that he had. That told me everything that I needed to know about him. Just fyi, I was initially charged $5,000 and Marks staff had to later type 2 letters on my behalf. I was charged $1,500 for each letter. Except for the 1 settlement, the other debts were eventually discharged, but it was about a year later. It has now been about 3 years and my bankruptcy is still not final. I have had no idea what to expect, throughout this part of the process, or what I can or cannot do with the properties that were not exempted. I just know I still have to manage the properties, maintain them, pay for them and the taxes on them. I would love for the court to either take them, or let me get rid of them because they simply cost me time and $ every year. I need to be rid of them, but apparently I cannot, but I am still responsible for them. But I am really not sure because every call and email to mark after the discharge, went unreturned. I can get no questions answered from him. I finally gave up. I would like to retire and move off, but I have to continue to work and stay near, to take care of and pay for these properties. Mark is probably not a bad guy, and his office probably does fine on the typical run of the mill bankruptcy. But mine was definitely my first time, I was very ignorant and upset about having to go through the process in the first place, I had a lot of questions, and apparently my case was more complicated than what is typical. But he told me the first time I met with him, that mine was relatively simple and he routinely does cases that are much larger and more complex than what mine was and I believed him, thats why I used him. Im about 3 years into my bankruptcy, I dont know why its not closed, what I can or cant do, and I have no one to turn to, to get the information. I dont know, maybe you are expected to hire a different attorney after the discharge, to get the bankruptcy closed. I know after mine couldnt bill me for anything, he quit answering questions for me.

Reading some of these reviews just blows my mind! I have been working with Michael Rubin since filing for divorce in April. When he filed for temporary orders and we had our hearing - he got me everything I asked for. He was prepared and ready! We are midway through and he continues to help me in anyway he can. He has always been VERY prompt in returning phone calls or emails!! Ive emailed him the evening after business hours and gotten an immediate response. Michaels Assistant, Nicol is wonderful! Very knowledgeable and has the best customer service! I have nothing but good things to say about this office. I HIGHLY recommend!!! Divorce is expensive - dont expect to pay a little of nothing and get an excellent Attorney!

The experience has been great I was so stressed at the time they were very caring and the lawyer mark was awsome. He walked me through the whole process from start to finish. It was a very good experience with the whole process. I was in a terrible place in my life and I needed help. They went above and beyond for me to get me back on track with my life and they have removed the stress from me during a difficult time in my life. I highly recommend Rubin and Associates they are the best.

I would like to share my thoughts of admiration and appreciation for Attorney, Mr. Mark Rubin and his associates. After many years of financial stress due to various circumstances, I called Mr. Rubins office after hearing his reviews on the radio. He returned my call within the same day and we spoke briefly about my situation. Mark suggested that I come into his office; and after a more detailed analysis, he would advise me as to what path to take in order to resolve my financial state of affairs. We had one meeting; and at the conclusion, Mr. Rubin suggested that I file Chapter 7 Bankruptcy. He gave me a detailed breakdown of all that was required and the time frame involved. About two months later, I had one more meeting in his office with one of his associates. And within the next 7 weeks, I was in a bankruptcy hearing in downtown Dallas. There were several other individuals present who were also filing various types of bankruptcy, many of whom were represented by Mr. Rubin. I was fascinated at I watched each client go before the trustee with Mark as their representative. He was gracious and personal, and very considerate to each individual (or couple) as their review was being conducted. His professionalism and concerns were a mix that is seldom seen with any attorney / client relationship during ongoing legal procedures. Needless to say, Mark represented me in the same manner, and everything went as well as he had forecasted. From my first telephone call to his office with his receptionist, all the way through my final day of review, Mark Rubin was every bit of the person and attorney that I had heard he was. His staff, those of whom I had met and dealt with, were exceptional; and they have willingly shared with me their high regard and respect for Mr. Mark Rubin as an attorney, as their employer, and as their friend. I can truly speak from my heart when I say Mark Rubin is a wonderful attorney and human being who honestly cares about the well-being and feelings of those he serves.
