I frequent this restaurant often and stepped outside my box and had the blackened steak sandwich. The meat was perfect the bread was soft and grilled deliciously. I added fresh grilled jalepenos..jalapeños... mid way through my meal I had requested a single onion ring. The bartender made that happen with in seconds.

We made the trek from Prosper to try the highly regarded Chicken Fried Steak. I thought the steak and the gravy were good. The Mac and cheese was good. The mashed potatoes were not my preference in style, but not bad. All in all we enjoyed our visit.

Love this place! Everything about it is great! I went for my first time a few weeks ago and I loved it and cant wait to go back. I have been wanting to try this place out for such a long time and finally did! I got the jalepeno cheese fries and I almost ate the whole platter by myself, so good. For the entree I wanted to try something different and ordered the chicken fried steak sandwhich and that was sooooo good. I was just a pig that evening with their food. Everything was so fresh and yummy. The waitstaff was also very kind. I liked the event/stage room, that was cool as well. I really love the outdoor atmosphere. I need to go when its cooler and enjoy it even better. I cant stop thinking of going back since I left, been trying to plan my next visit!

Granted I was with a large group of guys, we had a long wait to get our order taken. The server was very nice and understanding though so I won t complain much about the wait on the service. The atmosphere was cool the lights give a cool energy to the place and the fans around outside keep you cool with this hot Texas heat, and the wooden aesthetic of the place gives a southern charm to the restaurant. The food was great too but only adds to the experience good enough to earn a 4 but nothing special in my opinion.

RAYMOND was AMAZING. We were hesitant because there is so much variety on the menu but everything we tried was INCREDIBLE. We didnt go hungry so it wasnt just good because it was something to eat and we also wouldnt go hungry with the portion size. One ordered chicken tenders that are REALLY hand battered not just advertised as such. One had steak fingers which, again, REALLY hand breaded. Sweet potato fries were delicious and crispy. Mac and cheese was cheesy but not thick. Potatoes were nice and fluffy and REAL but didnt really seem garlic was prevalent. Okra was also hand breaded but could have been crispier. Gravy was delicious. The server Raymond though made it spectacular. WILL be back with so many choices to try!

we usually like going here, but we ve had some bad experiences on and off. The latest one was, we asked for a water at the bar with no straw. The bartender completed our order correctly and then another bartender came by and stuffed a straw in it. We don t use straws. We don t need straws. We don t want straws, why is this an automatic thing that is given to anybody that orders anything that s not a beer or milk? Stop giving straws specifically when we ve said no straws. It s like if I said no sugar and you gave me sugar. It s the same thing I just don t need it .

Such a chill spot to hang out at. I loved all the outdoor seating/beer garden vibe that it was giving off. We went here for a work lunch so we sat inside. But it was such a relaxing environment, the staff were all super friendly, we got seated and served pretty quickly. The big winner here is the outdoor seating. With the exception of July and August, it is always fantastic to sit outside at lunch and order a hamburger and enjoy the courtyard. In July and August, just sit inside. Its not worth the heatstroke. Service is usually pretty consistent.

Great bartender, but not smiling or seemingly noticing me particularly. Good margarita. Fried mushrooms tasted good if you like fried batter. Couldnt taste mushrooms, and they seemed dry, so I dug in to see problem. They seemed like canned mushrooms. Were the dark kind and had no juice when u bite in. Well, a 1 on that. Ranch dip was watery. I like the ambiance. Concrete bar and wood floors gave that neighborhood hang-out vibe I like, though its a very large place with tons of inside and outside seating. This place has been around for a long time... Its a cool place to go for mimosas on a Sunday afternoon with friends, and the location, just north of lower Greenville, is fantastic.. especially if you are a college student at nearby SMU. If youre looking for a hip place for date night or more of a bar scene, however, this may not be the best place. Older crowd and laid back atmosphere. Worth checking out.

Overall the building is comfortable, the tables arent crowded together, and the floor is easy to navigate. Even though we were a large party of 10+, our waitress was on top of her service game. I ordered Chile relleno with sour cream sauce and a crispy beef taco but received Chile relleno with queso and a cheese enchilada with chili. I hadnt eaten all day and, by the time our food came, it was 6:00-6:30 pm, so I didnt send the food back. I can eat almost anything anyway. But the relleno had a breadcrumb type of coating on it that was so heavy it became kind of gooey and the chili was really spicy. I had to send it back and ordered a spinach salad, which was quite good, and our waitress was very accommodating and apologetic . I expected more since there is so much Mexican food on the menu. Others said the food was okay but no one said it was outstanding. I think this would be a good happy hour with appetizers place.

Went there last night with 2 of my coworkers to grab some drinks after work. We were immediately followed in by the security guard! Ordered a half rack of ribs. Got & payed for a full rack & they werent very good. I have found the service to be a bit haphazard, sometimes you get too much attention and sometimes not enough. Several times different waitstaff approached me for service. This was my first time patronizing this place and I was meeting my cousin for dinner. Upon entering, theres a sign that says wait to be seated, but no one ever came so I just walked through the door. A male employee did open the door and asked did I need a seat and I informed him that I was meeting someone. I found my cousin and sat down. It was a few minutes before someone came to ask about my order. The original employee was different than our server. Our server was Jordan. She was great and very attentive. I have no issues with her. My issues were the time it took to be greeted, the time it took for the order to be taken (though once taken the food especially the appetizer came out fairly quickly) and the overall atmosphere on this day which was Tuesday, March 5, 2024. Didnt really feel welcomed, but decided to stay any way because I was hungry and wanted a drink. I initially ordered a Texas mule, however, I was told that they were out of ginger beer. I finally decided on a Mexican 75 which consisted of tequila, champagne and lime juice. Jordan asked which tequila I preferred according to the list and I informed her of that. The drink itself was so so. There were no prices listed so I assumed the drink was ONE price. When I got my bill, I saw that the Mexican 75 was one charge and the Tequila was a different charge. Basically, paid $12 for some lime juice with a splash of champagne as those are the only things I could taste. I ordered wings. You get a dozen of them. The wings were good, but came lukewarm. I used to work in the food industry so I NEVER send my food back. I just dealt with it. I had decided that I wouldnt be back. My cousin asked to speak with the manager and we did. She listened and was attentive and asked if there was anything she could do to change our minds about visiting again. We made some suggestions regarding the menu and informing customers what the prices are up front or at least inform the customer that what youre really ordering in my case is a dressed up shot of tequila. Had I known that it was charged separately, I just wouldve ordered a tequila shot without all the other stuff that watered it down. Yet, I digress. The manager offered us a free appetizer which we agreed wed come back again and give it another chance. She later informed us that she didnt have any appetizer cards, but gave us each a $10 gift card for next time which we appreciated. We were there in the evening around 6ish pm. It wasnt busy so not sure why it took so long to be acknowledged which is a pet peeve of mine. I gave the rating I did for the overall experience. The service (once we got some) was great and I appreciated the manager being personable and listening fully to our concerns. Because of the gift card, Ill try them again. This time I think Ill try one of their world famous Mojitos for a drink and see how that goes.

Its a classic for great American food. Great culture. I love bringing my boys because its a fun atmosphere. Incredible size portions & you never hungry. I recommend the spinach salad, chicken fried steak, chili & always fries.

This is a busy place and for good reason. The food is on another level. You have good places and then you have this place. Do yourself a favor and stop in grab a beer and have some great eats. Every time I am in Dallas I stop here just for the french fried jalapenos. Best I have had!

We went in on a Sunday with a very large group and we re sat pretty quickly. We had 5 kids and it was very family friendly and had a ton of room. But the best part was our server Raymond! He was AWESOME!! If you could give this man a job teaching all other servers how to do their jobs we would all benefit!! He was on top of it and super friendly. The fries and toaster were soggy. But the chicken fried steak was perfect! I put the toast in the toaster oven and put the fries and fried okra in the deep fryer. It was great. The okra is not the usual batter as in other restaurants. Its a good taste. I did expect it. They need that brown box to cut down on the heat which helps the food stay fresh. The foil helps the steak. The fries and toast dont do well with styrophone. Package it separately. Ill be back for sure. Steak was huge! and the peach cobbler was on point! Give them a try!
