A Memorable Seafood Boil Experience I recently had the pleasure of dining at this seafood boil restaurant with two of my good friends, and it was an absolutely delightful experience! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by an inviting atmosphere that set the tone for an enjoyable evening. The seafood boils were incredibly delicious the flavors were rich, and the portions were generous. We also indulged in their margaritas, which were perfectly crafted and just what we needed to complement our meal. The service was impeccable; our server was knowledgeable, attentive, and went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. It s clear that the staff here takes great pride in their work, and it truly shows. I do want to mention a minor hiccup with the seating. When we first arrived, the hostess seated us in the middle of a busy area despite there being a quieter section with more availability. When we requested to move, she seemed a bit hesitant. However, I understand that managing seating during peak hours can be challenging, and it s a tough job trying to balance everyone s preferences. I believe with a bit more experience, she will excel in her role, just as the rest of the team does. Aside from that, everything else was spot on! The low lighting creates a cozy, intimate ambiance that s perfect for dining, and the cleanliness of the restrooms was much appreciated. I would highly recommend this restaurant for families, friends, and parties looking to enjoy some fantastic seafood and a great atmosphere. I can t wait to visit again!

This place is a hit or miss. Unfortunately today was a miss for us. Food was not as good as Ive had in the passed. Fish was dry. Broccolini had way to much butter. Potato salad was more like a whole potatoe. The best part of my meal was the side salad I ordered & the Royal Flush mix drink. Very disappointed wirh dinner. Ambiance is nice & service was ok. Will try again back in a couple months!

Had a late lunch around 3pm on a Thursday. Party of 3.For the Appetizer We ordered the stuffed mushrooms. They were good. We all had the catfish and shrimp. My sides were the fries and dirty rice. I did not care for the sides BUT the fish and shrimp were very good !!! I enjoyed the hush puppies as well. Our server was very friendly ,I wish I could remember his name.

We stopped in for the Monday night all you can eat fried shrimp at Pompanos Seafood House and Oyster Bar in Corpus Christi. The shrimp were fried perfectly and well seasoned, fries were fresh and crispy and the rolls and hushpuppies were top shelf. I like what they have done with the space. The old restaurant didnt have the full service bar in the middle. The food was great but I started eating before the picture was taken. What really made the rateing was the service. Sal was great! Offered up suggestions and never let my drink empty. Great job!

Working in town, FL Girl here, & I wanted fresh seafood w/o to many tourist! The Website stated freshest seafood, & I found out after arriving why, as an owner of the restaurant is an owner of the seafood market! YAY!!! Had grilled red snapper to die for!!! When I arrived through the door, came in to some down home live music from Michael Burtts! I am a Bar-Girl, best seat as one gets the low down on great recommendations & yummy concoctions, & Pompano s has aa Fantastic, charismatic & handsome bartender, Aaron, (yes!, the ladies sitting at the bar completed the survey & he won the blue ribbon this eve! Aaron also made me very dirty with my martini! Lol! Aaron was exceptional & assisted me in my dining selection; which was an A+!!! Recommend this hideaway highly! Be happy, today is our blessing

Mixed feeling about this place. We had a reservation and were still told to wait upon our reservation time. Once there, we had to wait an additional 40 min for us to be seated in a place that was half empty. The service was a bit slow. Once the food arrived, I was handed my meal but was handed the wrong plate. She then came back and asked me in an aggressive manner if I had touched it and I responded no. She rolled her eyes at me and took the plate away. What warranted that? We went in and spent quite a bit and to have the service we had was not worth another visit.

happy hours is GREAT! we are always disappointed eating in Port A so ventured a little further and was pleasantly impressed. Saul was an AMAZING server and everything we ate was outstanding. There are a lots of choices in Corpus Christie for seafood some CC Staples, and others are newer and making their mark. The fried oysters are delicious and the cauliflower and godua chesse is delicious as well. The shrimp cocktail is flavorful but missing something not sure what that is. There is plenty of shrimp in the cup and worth a try. Service is decent but it seems that they need more servers to accommodate the traffic of customers. Prices are normal for seafood.. Overall decent..

New to Corpus so trying different places to eat. Was seated by hostess and waited 13 min before anyone came to the table after that. Husband ordered shrimp and catfish. Catfish was undercooked and had that gamey taste. Shrimp was tough. I had grilled shrimp which was okay but I paid $4 extra for a baked potato that you could tell was left over from lunch and reheated. They took 1/2 off for bad fish but really should have comped my husbands entire meal. First and last time to dine there.

We just moved to Corpus Christi and had liked Pompanos. We decided to invite our friends but this time we had all kinds of issues. The sad part of our visit was we took our friends after bragging on this place. The waitress was not attentive in taking our order. My wifes shrimp and scallops were blackened, yet ordered pan fried in butter. The ladies ordered some white wine that never came. My wife walked up to the bartender to ask if the two glasses were ready, and the bartender said she told our waitress they didnt have that type white wine. My wife ordered the house white wine available, and neither my wife nor our friend could drink it; it had a bad cheap taste. My friend was drinking half and half tea, but we had to track the server down for refills with one time not mixed. I ordered ceveche and had to have it drained from excess liquid, and everyone said the ceveche had no flavor whatsoever. Between the four of us, we were only able to eat maybe a fourth of it. I ordered blackened scallops, and the blackening was so overdone that I had to scrape each scallop to eat. Needless to say, we were embarrassed for the raving recommendation.

This was our first time here. Professional and courteous staff. We were greeted by a manager/ the owner. We were seated quickly and in a comfortable area. Our server was pleasant and tended to us and her section quite well. Some areas of the restaurant are a bit cold, so have a light jacket or hoodie. The food is good. On Fathers Day we decided to eat seafood at what normally is a great dining experience in Pompanos. With only three people in our party, it took around 45 minutes from the time our food started to come out until the time that our meal was finally completely delivered. By the time we got butter and cocktail sauce for the baked potato and shrimp, they were both ice cold. Apparently, they were having short staff issues. I felt sorry for their misfortune. We will be back on a regular non-holiday. P.S. The desserts were wonderful.

Came for the first time, to try something different than Surfing Crab, and that was the biggest mistake ever. The wait itself was not bad, being it is Fathers Day, but the wait for food was over 45 min. Like seriously, the appetizer shouldnt ever come out with our main dish! After 35min then they decide to bring out rolls, that took another 15 min later after being told, bringing out the rolls and appetizer now. Well that was a lie bc the rolls came out way before the appetizer. Ugh! The pound shrimp boil had one potato cut into 4 pieces? And one whole corn cut into two. The fried shrimp and fish were super cold. Guess it had been sitting there for awhile. Had to return that. For all this, I could have made this simple $%#^ at home, or even better go to SURFING CRAB.

My family and I were excited to try this restaurant. It was just bad from the second we walked in. We really should have just walked right back out. Had high hopes for my first visit, took the wife on a date because she was craving coconut shrimp, place was fairly empty, we requested the shrimp for appetizer and arrived hot and quickly, mild in flavor but nice, the sauce was nothing special. The wife asked for the stuffed flounder with cauliflower and hush puppies and I asked for the salmon Alexander with brussel sprout and potato salad. The wife was somewhat disappointed when she was presented with two shrimps and two scallops laying over a filet of fish (not stuffed). The flounder was overly salted and her scallops undercooked. The scallops on my plate were a bit worse, after slicing one with a knife I noticed that was undercooked and not eatable. The salmon was well cooked but the sauce covering it was unpleasant.the brussel sprouts were somewhat bitter and near the worst that I ve had. Never received my potato salad. Will not return.

I have been wanting to try Pompanos for awhile now so we finally tried it, but OMG! I ordered the fried flounder Platter and it tasted like fried water! Zero seasoning. Not even the breading had seasoning. I thought maybe it was just me, but my sons fish also had no flavor. The sides tasted great, but we werent there for the sides. The music was super loud. This place is literally top notch, not only is the food, service and atmosphere amazing but the owner is so friendly and kind. He walks around making sure all of the customers are doing good, and saw him helping out the staff. All of the girls working who stopped by our table did it all eitha. Smile. I had the seafood boil and it was the best if anything I wish I had gotten spicy but that was my part. The cheesecake is next level too. Definitely a must try spot for you and your family.

Went to pompanos on a wednesday and enjoyed their special extended happy hours for the day. The menu had a wide variety to choose from, as well as their cocktail menu. I will say, it would be nice if they partnered up with local breweries to have on tap such as Nueces or Rebel Toad for example. The beer glasses were extra cold and icy to the touch. The appetizers were very tasty, I tried the gator bites and the black mussels. There wasn t much service provided, but the bartender was very friendly and attentive when available. I can t see why I wouldn t return.

If you want to try thisplace it has good food but their service is trash. You might as well bring your own beverage since you only see your waiter when you order. Dont order appetizers because they wont come out on time theyll come after your entre is served. Oh and be sure you have plenty of time because if you go during lunch timr you can kiss your lunch break good bye and take the rest of your day off!

First time visiting here. Very large establishment that is great for individuals, families, and groups if needed. The menu has lots to choose from. I had the large bowl of gumbo, and it was very good! It definitely did not taste like it came from a can. In house made fresh for sure. It came with 2 rolls and butter. So good! My husband and I went for the first time today for dinner, the margaritas were good and a nice size and our server was nice. We ordered the nachos appetizers and it came out smelling bad. Like it was rancid. I thought I was imagining the smell and when we took a bite we both spit it out! The crab on the nachos was bad. They brought the rest of our food out and saw I placed the uneaten nachos to the side. The server asked if everything was okay and my husband told him about the nachos. They apologized and said they would get the manager but either they didnt tell them or they never came to our table. The rest of our dinner was us forcing ourselves to eat because we didnt want to waste food but the bad crab just ruined the rest of the meal. When we got home I instantly went to throw up! I feel bad reviewing this but Im so upset I spent money on food just to come home and throw it up

I really wanted this experience to be better! After trying out the bar and wings on my first visit, I talked my wife into us taking the family here for dinner. Turned out to be very bad, and expensive decision: Oysters Rockefeller were simply ok used to them being fire grill these didn t even melt the toppings? Fried calamari seemed to be from a frozen food bag with old coating, fish was overly seasoned and grilled veggies were water logged. To top off, the sweet potato pecan pie was hyped to us as the best around turned out to be basic (plus they were out of the vanilla ice cream topper). Waitress seemed tired and overwhelmed, when we told her we were really disappointed with the whole experience she said sorry to hear that . Place has a lot of other good reviews, maybe that one night was anomaly, but I wanted to share

....all you can eat fresh crawfish is true to that.....potatoes where cold...corn no deep flavor....must dip in hot oily spicy liquid they add to when prepped....no flavor or juice in head of crawfish when attempting to suck that good spicy flavor......Waiter was good on asking if more was needed in a timely matter....at the end I ordered dry crawfish without the hot oily liquid....had a dry rub on them...crawfish were not hot(Temp).....dry rub was good......no photo to share .....

Food was below average for price, service was horrible. They brought the wrong plate and then dropped it. Staff picked up bowl off the floor that had contained coleslaw (from the wrong plate that they dropped) and put it right next to one of our guests. They never brought my sides either. Music was way too loud and created an anxious environment. Wont be going back anytime soon.

We chose this restaurant based on the menu and places with a seafood boil near our hotel. We made a great decision. My daughter tried her first couple of oysters ever in her life and loved them. Management even saw her looking at all the oysters and made sure she could watch the guys shuck a few of them for her to see the whole oyster experience. The seafood boils came out exactly as we told our server we would like. My mom can t handle spice at all and her boil with shrimp/mussels/clams was served in mild garlic butter sauce. Both my daughter and mom enjoyed this immensely. My dad and I enjoy a little heat so we tried the spicy . It was just the right balance of flavor and heat. I can t imagine what the next step up to Hot would be!!! We added lobster tails for the 3 adults and for the price, the tails were great sized and I feel a great value. Besides the food being great, our server did an amazing job. It s very important to have a full drink when eating spicy food and we never went without beverage. One of the better experiences I ve had here visiting Corpus. Looking forward to our next visit when we come down next.

unfortunately we received the wrong soup, the cajun pasta was missing the sausage (and any spice), and the portions were much smaller than expected for $20-23. i think it may be the takeout containers? it might possibly be better if you dine in :)

Food was delicious but the cocktail waitress was awful. Ordered a bottle of wine she brought it to the table and the tin looked like it exploded and didnt even bother to serve our glasses. I brought it to the Managers attention and he took the bottle of wine to remove the tin then cocktail waitress brought it back with an attitude. It was my first visit and everything we had was fantastic! I tried several appetizers pompanos nachos out of this world, and oyster sampler the bomb. The entrees were great. Okay so the verdict is out. I don t see what they hype was about. As a fellow Louisiana native this place did not meet up to expectations on the crawfish at all for the all you can eat for $30. It was more like $30 and not a cent was spent towards seasoning. The Cajun spicy was plain with no flavor. The crawfish themselves sat in a soupy platter as if they were a bag boil. They had good size and we re not over cooked but again no flavor. I had to bring in my own crawfish dip which saved the meal and I finished it solely for not wanting to waste. Save your coins and wait till Are you crazy about crawfish comes back into town if you want spicy and delicious! The server was super nice and prompt with our drinks tho!
